    PokeNation is a project that started back in 2010, since the beginning that
    what we want to create is a new Pokemon Online Game, but not just another one!
    We want you to enjoy the real Pokemon gameplay while being able
    to fully interact with your friends, building an healthy competition.
    PokeNation is being programmed in Java, and since the engine isn't
    completely done we can't show much content at this moment.

        That looks fantastic. Just wondering, are you using any game library like LWJGL, game engine like Slick2d, a built in gui package like awt or something else entirely?

          Looks really sick! I don't personally like Java but I really respect people who use it in there games, and pull it off (something I can't do) I wish you good luck.

                              2. How many Pokemon game will have when ready? And from what generation?
                              3. Will the game have Fakemon? How many?
                              4. What are the starting pokemon?

                                I second all of Nobololol's questions, but I'm also wondering, are you only planning on creating Kanto and Johto (since those are the only ones listed)? Later in development are you going to try and add other regions, or is the possibility unrealistic? I understand there's lots of problems with tilesets matching up and the like. Will only Kanto/Johto pokemon be included then?

                                    It's been a long time since my last post here but I've been busy with uni and other things, anyway I didn't stop developing PokeNation and I don't plan on stopping it :p

                                    As I said on my last reply I was working on music system, and here it is:

                                    1. I'm not sure if it will have a "story", but there will be gyms, quests, and some other things that I won't reveal :p PvP battles will also be present.
                                    2. I haven't decided yet, but at least Gen III or IV.
                                    3. I'm not thinking on adding any Fakemon since i'm not a fan of it. Unless someone suggests it and many people approve the idea.
                                    4. The starter pokemons are all the starters from the Gen III or IV.

                                    As you said creating many regions while keeping a tileset style will not be easy, unless I can find some spriters that are able to join this project. Anyway I plan on doing at least Johto and Kanto, but later I hope to have other region and custom regions/maps aswell.

                                    Generically I'm using TCP protocol to make communication between client and server, I'm not sure if that was your question :o

                                    I didn't start working on battle engine yet, but there are one or two engines already made in java that I can take a look to see the basics.

                                              I came with 3 simple Ideas for the user interface. Also Zeus suggested to make the menus hide-able, like a like arrow that we can click to hide/show.

                                              Tell me if any of those ideas are good, I'm showing some blank buttons because I don't have decent icons for them yet :p

                                                I like how you can view your pokemon party from above on thew top of the screen, makes things kinda easier if you constantly want to know your pokemon's health status and such :3

                                                As for where to put the main menu, I suggest the bottom right hand corner, just so your not accidentally clicking on your pokemon to check it's info when you intended to click on the main menu. Plus it also give the screen a balanced feel to it.

                                                  The most recent updates on PokeNation are:

                                                  1. User GUI/Main menu

                                                    Based on suggestions I decided to make the menu draggable so I could place it on one of the 4 game corners. Yet this isn't done, only the menu itself. Also you can see the small bottom bar with basic information (Cash, Rep and Game time).






                                                  2. Multi Cursor System

                                                    When you over some special tiles they will have another cursor to show.
                                                    you can also see on the videoa basic ledge system, it has no "jump animation", but I will work on that later
