Sadly we won't get Slots back unless Europe changes their gambling laws. Since the international games are all localized by the same company, its easier to cater to all of them rather than spend excess money tweeking for each individual country.

US gambling laws are almost as strict as Europes when it comes to gambling in videogames, so there is very little chance that they'd incorporate the Slots back into the games for just the US.

Even if the building isn't flat out replaced or closed off, (Honestly they'll just replace it with some small mini game place cause that would keep the appeal of leaving the building in mauville)we won't be getting the Slots or even the Roulette one. Its gunna be Voltorb Flip or a new game.

I hope you're wrong Xander but you're proably right. Hopefully the mini game will be easier than Voltorb switch. Maybe they could make an arcade in the place of the game corner like hit the diglet (smack the mole) and other such games that would be more interesting to play.

Voltorb Flip is actually pretty easy to get the hang of and a little addicting if you do it enough.

Yeah, there's a slim chance that we'll see slots and the roulette back (), but they'll probably just add in some new minigame. They should bring back those fun little minigames from Mossdeep/Two Island(?) in FrLg though(multiplayer included) with the usual single playered risk ones, or some new ones all together. As long as there's a variety of minigames, it should still be fun. Then maybe we wouldn't really need to buy coins(as nice as it would be).

Voltorb Flip is actually very hard IMO. Especially since I royally suck at Minesweeper. Hopefully if they remake R/S, make the new "Gambling" actually EASY!

Voltorb Flip takes time and effort but can be addictive, I doubt they would bring back the same game for a different set of remakes. It seemed more of a HGSS exclusive thing, otherwise it would have been in BW & B2W2.

If they were to go with something new I'd actually like to see the games corner replaced with a mini games house or something. Harder mini games on harder levels would score you more coins/however much of something you collect determines how many coins you win, if any. That'd be equally as addicting and requires skill as opposed to luck.

If they remake RSE then I would say it's odds on that the Game Corner changes in some way (pun possibly intended). They changed in HGSS due to a combination of european laws and game rating systems that changed (had HGSS stuck with the Game Corner within the Japanese version in America for instance something like a PG-13 rating would have been given), and it's also likely why BW/B2W2 has no Game Corner at all. So it'd be interesting to see what they do in such a case; remove it again or replace it with *something* less gamble-y

Something like the arcade I mentioned earlier could work. We have to buy coins for the machines and than we play for tickets, after we get enough we can trade for tm's, stuff Pokémon for our bases, special kinds of Pokéballs found deeper in the game (maybe a return of the Johto balls?), ect.

An arcade with mini games, that would be a nice simple replacement. Any leftover TMs they need the remakes to have but no where good to put them could be some of the prizes. Also how about Pokémon prizes??

Here's my crazy wish right here. See, FRLG and HGSS retold the story, BW2 is a sequel, but what Pokemon has yet to have is an altered reality of the region. In this short story, I will retell the Hoenn region with a different gym order.

              Spoilered for length

              Spoiler:
You start off the game as normal, but once you get to Petalburg City, thing start to change. Norman still asks you to help Wally catch his starter, but when Wally attempts to catch Ralts, it runs away to the West. Wally, determined to catch Ralts, forces you to come with him to try to catch it. You go to the 104, fighting trainers along the way, then you go to Petalburg Forest. Where you would normally fight the Aqua/Magma grunt, you instead find Ralts. Wally thanks you and gives you the HM for Flash and returns home with the Pokemon. If you try to exist the forest through the northern path, you will see that there are cut trees blocking the exist. You can then return to Petalburg City. Norman thanks you and then says that he is the first gym leader of the region, you then battle him

              Zigzagoon Level 13
              Zigzagoon Level 13
              Slakoth Level 15

              Reward: TM Retaliate
              HM Enabled: Flash

Leaving Petalburg City, you encounter Scott, who does the same as the Emerald series. You then find a Aqua/Magma grunt running into the forest, you go fight him and he gives you the Pokemon that he had hostage, Mr. Britney's Peeko. Mr. Britney then walks over and thanks you and offers you a trip to Dewford as a reward.

At Dewford, you see that Brawly isn't in his gym, but in the Dewford Cave. You go through the cave, in which this time has trainers in it and you find Brawly, who is in the same location that Steven was in. He returns to the gym and after leaving the cave, you find Steven, who was about to go into the cave. He gives you the TM for Steel Wing. You can then fight Brawly.

              Meditite Level 17
              Machop Level 17
              Makuhita Level 19

              TM: Bulk Up
              HM Enabled: Cut

You then recieve a call from May/Brendan (You get the PokeNav from your Mom in the beginning of the game) who says for you to meet him/her at Route 104. You battle your rival and he/she gives you the Itemfinder and the HM for Cut. You can now go to Rustburo, do many things there (like have the Devon Corp. give you one free fossil Pokemon) and fight Roxanne.

              Geodude Level 21
              Aron Level 21
              Graveler Level 23
              Probopass Level 25

              TM: Rock Tomb
              HM Enabled: Rock Smash

You find the HM for Rock Smash in the house next to the Rusturf Tunnel, where he says that he uses said HM to get past the rocks in the tunnel without bothering the Whismur (and Loudred). You can go into the cave, which is bigger now. Inside you can find Wally, who is going to Petalburg City to visit his parents. You can fight him, if you want. Then you can go to Verdanturf Town and Mauville City. If you try to go north of Mauville City, where the Winstrates are located, you will see that it's blocked by Strength boulders. In addition, the route leading to Slateport is also blocked. Your only choice is to fight Wattson.

              Level 24 Magnemite
              Level 24 Voltorb
              Level 26 Magneton
              Level 28 Manetric

TM: Charge Beam or Volt Switch
              HM Access: Surf

He then says that he would like to show you his newest project, New Mauville. He forgot the Storage Key with his good friend near Slateport, so he asks you to go and get it for him. The route leading to Slateport is now open and when in Slateport, you will hear lots of people talking about the Trick House if you talk to them. If you go there, you complete one round and figure out that he has the Storage Key, he gives it to you and then asks for you to come back to the Trick House every once in awhile to prove your worth.

You go back Wattson and he brings you to New Mauville (via black screen + teleport to location, as if he brought you there with Surf). If you talk to him, you can return to Mauville. You go through New Mauville, turn off the generator and find the TM for Thunderbolt. After you turn off the generator, Wattson gives you the HM for Surf, so you can now go to Fortree City.

On your way to Fortree, you find that there's trouble in the Weather Institute. You go in there and fight Maxie/Archie, depending on your version. The scientists give you Castform, as usual and you can go to Fortree. On your way there, you encounter your rival who gives you Fly but does not battle you. Then you can fight Winona.

              Level 31 Swellow
              Level 31 Tropius
              Level 33 Skarmory
              Level 35 Altaria

              TM: Acrobatics or Sky Drop
              HM Access: Fly

Afterwards, you go to the bridge where it was blocked by an invisible force. You then see Steven, who gives you the Deven Scope and fight a Kecleon. The rest of the Kecleon blocking the bridge get scared and run away. You can then go to the Safari Zone, Mt. Pyre and Lilycove City. At Lilycove, you can fight your rival, who actually uses his/her fully evolved starter this time! Then, you can go on your marry way to Mosdeep City and fight the gym.

              Claydol Level 40
              Xatu Level 40
              Solrock Level 42
              Lunatone Level 42

              TM: Calm Mind
HM Access: Strength (if playing the Ruby Remake) or Dive (if playing the Sapphire remake.

Things get a little split from here on out, so take the remake spoiler tag of your choice and follow it.

              Ruby
              Spoiler:
If you go to Steven's house, you he will give you the HM for Strength. You can now move the boulders blocking the path to Fiery Path and the desert! Climbing Mt. Chimney and going down the Rugged Path, you'll see a grunt entering the Magma Hideout. You go in and beat the grunts there, finally fighting Maxie for the 2nd time. You beat him, but it's too late, he revives Groudon! Though, he escapes and you leave the hideout. From here on out, all battles outside are now have the inflicted with sun, so bring out your Chlorophyllers! After some Solarbeam shenanigans, you can go to Lavaridge and fight Flannery.

After fighting or capturing Groudon, you'll see that Lavaridge is destroyed. She gives you Dive and you can now go to Sootopolis City and fight Wallace! You go in the gym, but it only has one trainer, excluding Wallace. It's Juan! You then decide to go to diving some more and you find the Seafloor Cavern (now called Aqua Hideout). You go in and beat the grunts there, finally fighting Archie for the 2nd time. In Victory Road, you do the basic puzzle solving and all, but you fight Wally in the beginning of the cave (who has the starter that was unpicked) and your rival in the middle. There's some Rotational and Double battles along the way, too. Reaching the end of the cave, you find 3 NPCs who talk about triple battles, both your rival and Wally comes along and you fight the 3 NPCs in a Triple battle. Afterwards, you can go to the Elite Four.

The Elite Four and Champion remain the same, but with higher levels. Phoebe gets a Dusknoir and Glacia gets a Froslass, though. Then you fight Steven and win the title of the Pokemon Champion!

In my humble opinion, YOU'RE CRAZY! But I like crazy ideas, so I'll give you my thoughts on your storyline concept. Although I really only skimmed it and will reread it later, your idea seems to try and merge the threads that comprise the best parts of the tales told by Ruby, Sapphir, and Emerald while also introducing new story elements to tie it all together. While I appreciate the initiative that you take in weaving the structure that you hope to see manifested in the remakes that we who read this thread especially anticipate, I doubt that Nintendo would allow GameFreak to modify the event sequence that occurs during the player character's journey through the Hoenn region as heavily as you did without providing players with some sort of fork in the event sequence which would allow them to choose between the game's multiple paths. In regards to locked gym orders, they have only existed in terms of story events; players could completely ignore most of these and obtain at least most of their badges in no particular order whatsoever. In fact, Pokémon Gold, Silver, Crystal, HeartGold, and SoulSilver Versioms actually embraced this fact by allowing players to exploit a fork in story events near the late middle of the Johto story arc. If I were you, I would go back to the drawing board and devise a story mechanic that allows players to make a similar decision at various points in the game. But I'm not you, and I have other game concepts to nurture, namely that concerning the Aeonn region that I have designed. That, however, is a discussion for another time and thread; we currently discuss the Ruby and Sapphire remakes and the possibilities surrounding them. Speaking of which, how long did it take, on average, for speculation concerning past remakes begin after the original games' release? How much longer after that, on average, did Nintendo announce the remakes in question? How much longer after that, on average, were the games released? Finally, how lengthy was the average interval between the releases of the original games and their releases? Maybe we can use the pieces of data that answer these questions to estimate a more exact range of dates for each event required in the course of marketing and releasing remakes of the main games of Pokémon's third generation. Any other dates relevant to the remakes would also be heavily appreciated.
When I think of which platform might host our community's triumphant return to Hoenn, however, I hope that the Nintendo 3DS might receive the honors of doing so without losing compatibility with generations three through five. How do the rest of you think this might be achieved? I wonder if a DS Download Play client could use the Dual Slot capabilities of the original Nintendo DS and Nintendo DS Lite to enable functionality similar to that of Generation IV's Pal Park and Generation V's PokéTransfer system. This feature might also allow users to import their old Hoenn save files into their copies of the Hoenn remakes. A similar approach could also be pursued with the remakes that we all hope to see made of Pokémon Red, Blue, Green, Yellow, FireRed. and LeafGreen Versioms. As I mentioned before, any Pokémon remakes for the 3DS released via retail channels after August 19th would also have to be made available on the Nintendo eShoo. But regardless of the fact that the 3DS can display images in full 3D, I myself am not quite ready for the main Pokémon RPGs to become rendered fully in 3D because I believe that GameFreak is exercising great judgement in gradually transitioning to doing so. What, though, do you guys think about all of this?

The legendaries appearing in B2W2 doesn't put me off that much. They didn't include Kyogre, Groudon or Rayquaza, which are the important ones for a remake. In Gen 3, where Johto wasn't going to appear, the mascots were made available at Navel Rock - but if Hoenn isn't going to appear in Gen 5, then why haven't the mascots been made available for B2W2? There's hope yet!

And I really want to see the original Battle Frontier again. That was awesome.

Well there was that RSE mascot event but that was japan only so it's still up in the air.
Generation 4 mascots aren't in the games either, nor are the birds and beasts so perhaps those would be in the remakes. I imagine a mix between Hoenn and Sinnoh's cultures for the Creation trio place(s) maybe called Sinhoe ruins.

Perhaps they would call it something else though. The legendary Bird duo will proably be in Navel rock, perhaps an event , perhaps not.
Also for some reason I see the possiblity of there being an event in which we gain one of the Tao trio stones, perhaps they could use the God Stone for Kyurem as the other two already have stones.

                              Lemme chine into this topic.

I for one, don't think that the RSE remakes will be on the 3DS. I believe that the remakes will be the ending chapter of Gen V. I expect a RSE remake announcement early next year. With a Spring JP release date, and with a Summer US and EU release date.

Then they will announce Gen VI later that Fall/Winter.

I doubt they/it will be released so early after B2W2 came out, more likely it'll be released in summer in Jp like B2W2 were this year. Also two games in one year seem too rushed even by gen V standards.

I really do think though, that RSE remakes will be announced next year though. Just look at the release cycle.

                                    2013 - RSE Remakes ??
                                    2014 - Gen VI ??
We've discussed this in the thread quite a few times already, but the reason the cycle might be broken is because the Nintendo DS is going out the window and the 3DS is the priority console right now. IMO B2W2 were definitely the end of the DS era and will most likely be one of the last sets of games to be released for the DS. Also, we've had two pairs of games already in Gen V, so it'd make sense for RSE remakes to appear in Gen VI.

It's hard to say though until we have an official announcement.

I just don't see why in the world they would release any new main game on the DS. Some people have said its possible because they may have already started working on it before realizing they need to switch to the 3DS, but they have had the development kit for it since Jan/Feb 2010 and I think they said HG/SS began development in 2006, and we know it was released in 2009 so that's about a 3 year development for it.

If that is anything to follow by, they have had the 3DS development kit since Jan/Feb 2010 so by the time the next main game is released next year in 2013, they would have had it for over 3 years and that's enough time for them to have developed the remake or new game so theres no doubt in my mind the next main game is on 3DS, whether its a remake or new gen.

Exactly. Regardless what is next, it will 100% not be DS, but 3DS.
                                        There simply is no possibility.

So I thought about this idea being Steven the champion, Wallace in the rematches.
I think the console would be the DS, but it would have extra features in the 3DS.

....it will 100% not be DS, but 3DS.

I mean really, can you imagine the release of another set of main games for the DS in a typical autumn of 2013, and then getting translated releases perhaps by spring 2014? I don't.

Besides I'm pretty sure what you're suggesting isn't something nintendo would want to contemplate. Creating DS carts that have extra features for 3DS I mean, since BW2 for example have no 3DS features themselves, but can merely connect with the Dreamradar game. DS and 3DS carts are different things.

3DS is not an improved DS, it is a new handheld, unlike DSi which added cameras and the kind of DS games that have extra features for DSi... this is not the case now.
