The Ultimate Monotype Challenge

Got all 8 badges and I am on my way to the Pokemon League.

i just joined the forum guys and red through all 15 pages of this thread seeing what you guys were playing and such.

Wow .. been at my dads for not even a week and the people who were up to the same point as me in this challenge are like 2 games infront of me .. looks like im gunna have to bash pokemon all week :D

can someone tell me how to upload pictures into my reply so i have proof of my progress?

i know i posted that i was doing heart gold but i changed my mind so i started gold

1. You have to have at least 15 posts.
2. On VBA or whatever, go to Screen Capture or something similar to that.
3. Upload the pic to a picture storage site(I use Imgur).
4. Copy the image URL, and paste it into a post.
5. Then wrap these tags around it:
Eg. [*IMG]http://i.imgur.com/SpxXV.png[/IMG] Remove the * and it will look like this:

Team: Whatever the fire type starter for the game is will be on my team, so for Blue it will be Charizard, Flareon, Ninetails/Arcanine(Whichever is available) Rapidash, and another fire type i can find, ill edit it later
Question though, do we have to keep the team for all 5 games?

Beat the Elite 4 by critical hits and using lots of revives.

I will now start Diamond (I can't vs steven because the game has been erased)

just beat lance im now the champion of Johto (i think)




i used hydro(feraligator) to defeat all of the elite 4's pokemon except for lances areodacyl (however you spell it) so i used spark instead

just beat lt surge

EDIT: I swept my rival with my faithful Gyrados!

Aerodactyl - Wing Attack/Fire Blast/Bite/Take Down

MVP definitely has to go to Gyrados for sweeping most of the E4.
LVP probably went to Aerodactyl as he just sort of mopped up leftovers if necessary.

I'll be starting Johto with Gold Version later tonight! Hopefully another update!

-Use Firestone to evolve Growlithe to Arcanine
-Defeated Koga



-enter the safari zone to grab HM 04 Surf

-backtrack to Celadon City,enter the mansion and grab the Eevee,use a Waterstone to evolve it to Vaporeon. taught it surf

-Backtrack to Vermillion,travel thru Diglett Cave to Route 2,then to pallet town.

-surf all the way to Cinnabar Island,enter the Pokemon Mansion and grab the key.

Been playing pretty vigorously today, got to the E4 in Gold so far.

Spent the past hour or so evening out levels and grinding. Here's the team:


Probably will try to beat E4 and Kanto + Red tomorrow.

Im back...... Anyway, it's been so long! However, I have finished Pokemon Black Version completely! Cynthia was definitely hard, but in due time, I beat her as well. Anyway, here's my team.

I don't know what to say. Just catch Poison pokemon that are strong. And teach them strong moves.

Also finished the 8th gym and am on to the Pokemon League



I had to use alot of revives because I am too lazy to train so I buy alot of revives and full restores.
So I am finished for now because I don't have a copy of B/W so when I get a copy I will play it using only Poison types.

Ultimate Steel Challenge

I would like to do this challenge but I noticed that you can't start will steel or dark on gen 1 but I would like to request that I do gen 1 on FR/LG as Dark and Steel types are on it.

I've been really busy, but in my free time I've been able to grind my entire team to level 60 to defeat Red. Just a few minutes ago, I finally defeated him! I didn't have any trouble with Pickachu or Venusaur, and to defeat Charizard I had to use Parasects Spore + Quick Claw combo to put it to sleep then defeat it. Otherwise, it would've swept my team with Flamethrower. Next was Snorlax, whose bulk made it really difficult to defeat. Once again, I had to rely on Parasect using Spore to keep it from healing by using rest before finally being able to slowly whittle down its HP. Blastoise was fairly easy, but did put up a bit of a fight with Blizzard. Espeon wasn't too difficult to defeat either, though it's Reflect did bug me. Final team:

Meganium / Lv60 / Body Slam, Earthquake, Razor Leaf, Iron Tail
Gloom / Lv60 / SolarBeam, Cut, Petal Dance, Sludge Bomb
Bellossom / Lv60 / Giga Drain, Acid, Toxic, Solarbeam
Parasect / Lv60 / Slash, Dig, Spore, Giga Drain
Exeggutor / Lv60 / Strength, Solarbeam, Rollout, Psychic

MVP would have to be Parasect; without it I wouldn't have been able to defeat Red's Charizard or Snorlax. LVP would have to be Bellossom, as it just wasn't very useful and didn't have very good moves because I misread it's move set on Veekun (I evolved it early thinking it would learn Petal Dance).

Next I will move on to Sapphire! I'm really excited to use a bunch of the Grass tpes offered in Hoenn.

Alright, Hurricane Isaac forced me to buckle down and make some progress on my Mono-Type Challenge. I did a lot and can't remember everything so I'll keep it short this time.
