    I know this seems stupid, but how do you lock a post?

    You have to be a member of staff in order to lock threads. If you have a thread that needs locking then contact the member of staff that looks over that section (listed here) and explain why it needs locking, then if they agree they will lock it for you. :) Alternatively if the thread needs locking because it's inappropriate or breaking the forum's rules, use the report button located in the top-right corner of posts () and the post will be dealt with accordingly.
