Trials of Olympus

Three Fates School for Troubled Youth was where the fates currently spent most of their time. Not because they loved the job, or even because they wanted to protect demigods, but because one particular group of demigods was important to a prophecy that could make or break their fate, literally.

An empire crumbles, darkness consumes
as three ancient relics feed on the fumes.
Their power is great, but their price is heavy.
A group of friends must have them ready.
An ancient deity will give rise to a daughter or son
whose fate is entwined with that of another one.
If these children fail to succeed,
all of the world can never be freed.

The prophecy was well known by everyone in camp, as well as most gods and monsters. But the fates had a better knowledge of who these children were, as their threads of fate had already been entwined since birth. School was starting today, and the fates needed to help the children as much as they could before their combined presence attracted some less than welcome visitors.

The gates were open, and the only thing left was to wait for the students to enter the school and find their teacher. They had most likely gotten their schedules in the mail, along with a map of the school. They simply needed to get to the room, which was on the second floor, and then the fates could begin their orientation meetings.

Rules:

1: Follow the general RP rules.
2: This is rated [T] so make sure your posts adhere to that
3: If you have any issues talk to me and I'll try to resolve them as quickly as possible
4: Try to stay active in the roleplay, and if you don't think you're going to continue, let me know. It's easier to know whether I can open up new slots when people tell me whether they're still interested or not.
5: Be respectful to other players and have fun!

Map of Camp Half-blood:

Locations:

The Cabins-

A circle of cabins, each one dedicated to a specific god or godess. The children of the god or godess that the cabin is dedicated to will live inside the cabin for their entire stay at camp. Demigods that haven't been claimed by their parent will stay in the Hermes cabin until claimed. (All characters will start out unclaimed, and being claimed will be done in the roleplay)

The Big House-

Contrary to the name, this is not a jail. It is in fact the meeting place of the leaders of camp, as well as a place where quests are planned. Inside the attic the house holds an even more unique secret, as it is home to the Oracle of Delphi who gives prophecies to potential quest candidates.

The Climbing Wall-

Just what you'd think. It's a large wall with climbing holds that helps demigods train. Oh, and it also spews lava if you take too long. But that was pretty obvious, right?

Camp Borders-

The magical barrier that keeps out mortals, monsters, and bad weather. Any of those three things can enter through the barrier with permission from someone inside.

Dining Pavilion-

Basically the mess hall, but fancier and outside. The pavilion has a table for each cabin. Campers are forbidden from sitting at a table that is not their cabin's table.

The Stables-

It's where the horses and pegasi are kept. That's pretty much it.

The Armory-

Where everyone except the Hephaestus cabin gets their weapons.

The Forge-

The Hephaestus cabin makes their own weapons and gadgets here.

The Woods-

Monsters are kept stocked in the woods for practice hunting, and the local dryads help keep the forest growing and healthy. Every Friday the campers host a game of capture the flag, which isn't as innocent as it sounds. They play with actual weapons and aim to incapacitate their enemies and literally capture the enemies flag and bring it back into friendly territory.

She was walking the hallways rather uncomfortably, her hands constantly fidgeting as she tried to not look like the most awkward teenage girl on the face of the planet. Though, from what she now knew of herself... what she had slowly come to accept over the course of an entire year, she just might have been. Daughter to a God, trained to fight her entire life and a whole year into her career as a monster hunter... she highly doubted there was anyone else in the entire school whom shared a similar background.

Oh, no wait... that wasn't right. Some week or two ago she had arrived here at the behest of her fathers compass only to be met by the man with the slicked back white hair and fancy suit. According to him there were others like her all throughout the school building, demigods and fantasy stories, most of them just didn't know it yet. The fact that it had been revealed to her at all was the only reason she had been hunted for so long.

"Thanks Dad..." She muttered under her breath, disdain seeping into her already inconsistent and fidgety mood until she was brooding her way down the corridors without a thought for what was happening around her. So dedicated was she, to continuing her dark tirade, that she didn't notice herself walking right into the back of a boy just a few inches shorter than herself. With a confused expression he turned to look at her, causing her to blush horribly and sidestep her way around.

"A-ah, ehm, Gome- no! I... sorry!" She felt the piercing glare of judgment boring into the back of her head as she walked away swiftly, the slight oriental lilt in her accent drawing more than a few stares and her above the average height keeping them in place. Once safely around a corner and away from the stares of her new peers she stepped out slowly into a courtyard near the South side of the school, she made a beeline for the first bench she saw, beside an out of order drinking fountain and completely isolated from any and all crowds.

This wasn't her natural environment, she felt uncomfortable and out of place. Any schooling she had had beforehand was at home AND in Japanese... and even that had been a secondary objective compared to her training in swordsmanship and combat of all things. Yet here she was, sitting in modern clothes with a large and heavy satchel held tightly in her lap. Her armor plating was tucked in the side, lined up with school books... and her sword, which thankfully folded over for easy storage, was tucked in the side. She had never been a normal girl... and even when she tried to be she couldn't do so without shoving battle gear in with her school books. Was this really what her father had intended? Die or become a normal American schoolgirl? That was messed up.

And honestly, she was starting to become unsure as to which fate was worse.

She looked up at the sky momentarily, the blue abyss stretching eternally above, pervaded by white whiffs of puffy clouds. "Oh Arashi..." She thought to herself. "What are you doing here?"

Archelaus Courson
Son of Hekate

"Did you just say school?" said Archy. "What's the point? You know I haven't been to school in five years. Don't you know how long it'll take me to catch-"
"Has anyone told you that you talk too much? 'Cuz you really do, kid." grunted Phineas. With that, they set off into the night.
As they walked to the old neighborhood park up the street from the alleyway, Phineas started mumbling. Archy knew that he does this when he's nervous, which is actually most of the time, so this is nothing new; but Archy could tell that this was somewhat different than the norm.

The park is as it always was, a deteriorated pile of rusted metal and trash. Nothing special. Gosh, they really need to clean this place up. What has it been, six years? Archy thought as they walked over to one of the water fountains.
"Uh... Phin? I really don't think that that water's sanitary. We don't want you getting sick now."
He wasn't amused.
"Kid, jus' shut up fer two sec'nds. Please." snapped Phineas.
Now Archy knew something was up. Phineas never replied to him like that, even at his lame jokes.
Phineas held down the button to dispense water, but none came out. "Stup'd thing" he mumbled. He tapped the side. "καθαρός" he said as the rust started clearing off. Archy couldn't believe his eyes.
"Katharós." mimicked Archy, "Purify." Archy slapped his hand against his own mouth. "How'd I know that?" he exclaimed.
"Aye. Now I know that you're legit." replied Phineas.
"Honestly Phineas, I told you a thousand times. It's legitimate. Not 'legit'. No one says that, and no one will ever say that."
But Phineas ignored him.
"Hold down this button. I need a constant stream of water."
Archy held down the button, and water came out. Just as if the fountain was just made yesterday. Phineas pulled a golden coin out of his back pocket.
"Δημιουργήσει Ομίχλη." (Demiourgései Omíkhe) he said, and the water turned into mist.
"Ω Ίρις, θεά του Ουράνιου Τόξου, παρακαλώ δεχθείτε την προσφορά μου." (O Iris, theá tou Ourániou Tóxou, parakaló dekhtheíte ten prosforá mou) chanted Phineas as he flicked the coin into the mist.
"Oh Iris, goddess of the Rainbow, please accept my offering." Archy translated.
A rainbow appeared in the mist.
"Hey! Wait a sec-" sputtered Archy as Phineas cut him off. "Shut it!" he yelled.

A man appeared in the mist. It spoke in Greek.
"Hello? May I help you?"
Phineas responded in Greek as well. "Professor Crescent?"
"That would be me, yes?"
"I've got a youngin' for your school."
"Name?"
"Archelaus Courson."
"Hmm..." The man that Phineas was talking to flipped through some papers. "It would appear that he isn't registered."
"Please, sir. He was almost killed by a Chimera. I think one of them saved him."
Archy really didn't like the way he said "one of them".
"Well, I guess it isn't too for him late to register. Have him here by morning." the Professor continued. "You do know how dangerous it is to send an Iris message right now, correct? There could be onlookers."
"That doesn't matter right now! He'll be there when the school opens."
Phineas waved his hand through the rainbow and the image disappeared.

Four hours later, they were in a car that Phineas stole, in New York.
"Phin. Stop delaying it. I want answers." grumbled Archy.
"Ooh. Since when did we git so feisty?"
"Phineas!"
"Fine. I can't tell you."
"Why not?!"
"That's classified as well."
"Really? You've gotta be kidding me."
"No I ain't, kid. Yer gonna learn anyways."
"Oh, so if you told me what would happen, some sort of monster would just fall out of the sky?" Archy commented.
There was a pause after that. "Fine. I guess it couldn't hurt..." grumbled Phineas.
Well that was easier than I expected. thought Archy.

"'Dis school's gonna protect you from 'dem beasties that're follow'n you around."
"Why would these creatures attack me in he first place?" asked Archy.
"It's because yer a child of a Greek deity."
Archy laughed. He laughed until tears came out of his eyes.
"So you're saying-" he stopped to catch his breath "-that I'm a deity."
Phineas stared at him. "Have I ever joked wit' you before, boy?" he said in a menacing tone.
He's never talked to me like that before. But he has to be joking. That's not possible.
"Of course yer not one a 'dem! You had a mortal parent as well. Yer a demigod."
As soon as he said "demigod", there was a loud thump in the back of the car.
"Kid! Look behind you. Tell me what just hit the car!" Phineas yelled.
"It's just a golden eagle..."
"Oh shoot, they've sent Aethon after us! They must've tracked m'Iris Message!" mumbled Phineas. "Buckle up, boy!"
"Who's Aethon? It's just a bird." asked Archy.
"Y've heard of 'de story of Prometheus, right?"
"Yeah..."
"That's the bird that attacked him while he was chained to 'dat rock! If it could severely hurt a god, what do you think it'll do to us!"
Now Archy was scared. They weaved in and out of traffic trying to dodge the eagle.
"Is it me, or is it gettin' bigger?" Phineas shouted.
Archy looked back, and it was getting bigger.
"HOW DOES NO ONE NOT NOTICE THIS?!" screamed Archy as the bird continued growing, becoming the size of a tree.
"It's called the Mist, kid. You'll learn about it soon enough."
Just then, the car flew through the air. Archy and Phineas scream as the car slammed on the ground, right in front of the school.
"'Dere's 'da school!" shouted Phineas.
"Well how convenient." muttered Archy.
"'Dis ain't 'da time fer jokes, kid! Run!"
So they ran. After they ran for a couple of yards, Archy looked back just in time to see Phineas scooped up by the bird.
"PHIN!" yelled Archy.
"Kid!" Phineas yelled down from above. "It's okay! I'm just a Mistform anyways!"
"What the heck is that?!" shouted Archy.
"No time, run!"
Archy ran as fast as he could to the school. He looked back to see Phineas glowing and grunting in pain.
"Tell Hekate I said hi, kid." said Phineas, as both he and Aethon exploded in a magnificent shower of light and fire.
Archy ran through the entrance of the wall with tears in his eyes. "Phin?" he uttered as he dropped onto his knees.

Later that morning, Archy looked at his map wondering where the room for the orientation is. He stood there pondering the morning's events.
After an hour of sitting there on the lawn, Professor Crescent came and escorted him in, gave him his map and schedule, and sent him off.
"Gosh, I'm so lost" he said as he looked at his map for the thousandth time.

Barbara "Ash" Ashford
Daughter of Hephaestus

It was a lovely day, with only a few fluffy white clouds in the bright blue sky, and the sun was shining brightly. Just like the entirety of last week. Ash looked at the sky suspiciously from behind her goggles, which kept the bright sunlight at bay. She didn't trust the weather here in New York. It was too sunny all the time, and she longed for some rain, just to break the monotony.

Supposedly, she was supposed to fit in here, to finally find her place in the world. But she had noticed a particular trend among the other students, and they were all friendly, good-looking kids of average height who just wanted to get along or sing songs by the trees. To be fair, she'd only been at the actual school for an hour or so, but the dozen or so other students she'd met made her feel more outcast than ever.

Letting out a heavy sigh, she looked away from the clouds and turned her attention to the school. It was a big enough place, no different than any other school, except for the massive grounds. Her letter had come with a map and instructions to gather on the second floor for orientation, so she decided not to waste any more time. She headed for the steps, passing by a group of boys who were lounging by the door. One of them decided to be friendly, offering a wave and a smile.

"Hey there, friend! Welcome to Three Fates!"

Ash stopped, surprised. "Uh, thanks. It's certainly a nice place."

The boy grinned, stepping away from his friends and falling into step beside Ash. "It is, isn't it? And such a nice day, too! I'm Markus, nice to meet you!"

This guy couldn't be real. No one was this happy and exuberant. "I'm... Ash. Nice to meet you too." She started up the steps, with Markus following her.

"Ash, huh? Nice name! I'm sure you'll fit right in, here!" He jumped forward, opening the door for her.

Ash snorted, amused at his actions. She decided to go for a joke. "I hope so. The place looks big enough, so I should be able to fit."

Markus' smile faltered for a second. "No, I didn't mean physically, I meant, like, socially. I mean, you're big and all, but not that big. Wait, not big, what I meant was-"

Ash held up a hand to cut him off. "Relax, Mark, I was joking. You need to dial the energy down, you know? I'm just gonna head upstairs now."

"Y-yeah, okay. I'll... see you around, then? Bye!" He spun on his heel and ran back outside, leaving Ash alone in the hallway. She sighed, pulling out her map again. "Yeah. Gonna have fun here..."

Michael Wayne

Michael's new home wasn't much more than the attic of an abandoned factory, but his mother seemed to prefer it over their last home so he pretended like he was content. He never understood why she insisted that they never tie themselves down in one place for too long. For once he just wanted to make a friend that he knew he wouldn't have to abandon in a few months.

He lay down what little belongings he had onto his sleeping bag, and then went through them to make sure he hadn't broken anything during the move. He had a few things of little value, but they were the only things he had, so he kept them in good shape. A few small figurines of various nightmarish monsters were the only toys he had as a child, and honestly some of them were more creepy than fun. But his mother told him they were a gift from his dad, which was all she'd really say about him, so he held on to them tight out of fear that he'd lose the only link he had to his father.

It was probably too early in the morning to wake his mother, as she most likely just went to sleep a few hours before after working a night shift at the nearest gas station. He shuffled down to the factory floor, and grabbed the clothes his mother had washed for him before going to sleep. He slid on the clothes, the same black shirt, black pants, and black socks he always wore, slid on his black shes, and then walked out the door, careful to shut it behind him and lock it with a small combination lock.

He strolled down the alleyways, the street vendors slowly opening up shop, and eyed a specific cart that was selling waffles. He was careful not to look too long, as it'd be suspicious when a waffle went missing, and closed in on his target. He watched as two little boys bickered nearby, and timed his walk to match up with the exact moment they were about to crash into the man's cart. 3, 2, 1, the boys smashed into the vendor. Michael ran by and snagged a handful of waffle, and ran as far away as he could. When he reached the corner he ducked into a smaller alleyway, and waited for his partners in crime, literally, to show up for their share.

"I thought you said I was going to get to push you over this time!"

"Of course you thought that, but it was my turn!"

"No it wasn't!"

"Was too!"

Michael laughed. Sometimes he wondered if he even needed to bribe the boys to help him, they'd probably end up crashing into a cart anyway if he let them be. But if he didn't help them they probably wouldn't get fed until dinner, and eating one meal a day is definately not healthy for two boys their age.

"Michael!" The older one yelled when he came into view. "How much did you get?"

"Oh, one or two of em."

"Far out!"

He handed the two boys each a half of waffle, and stuffed the last piece in his mouth. Then, he waved goodbye and went on his way. Off to school, the first day was always the hardest.

Cassidy "Cass" Hawthorne
Son of Aphrodite

duco4rM.jpg

As Cass wandered through the halls, he thought about the events that led him to enroll in this school. It was all fresh in his mind, the strange attacks, his not-so-pleasant dip in the Willamette River, hearing swans talk to him and the vague, connected memories of other strange events throughout his otherwise normal life. It was a bit to wrap his head around. The last few weeks were a blur as he prepared himself for his new transition, trying to explain his transition to his friends and acquaintances and preparing for the new school, half-heartedly disputing the transfer with his father before resigning himself to his change. His heart wasn't quite in it to dispute that he needed protection, but it was the burning desire to figure out what was going on. You'll find out when you arrive at the school. That's what his father told him when he first received news of the transfer. Now it remained to be seen whether random "stray dogs" and "muggers", along with his other creeping irregularities could be explained with an enrollment to this school.

It was depressing, being uprooted like this. Sighing out loud, he put his troubles aside for his more normal demeanor, adopting a more chipper expression and aura. That always seemed to do the trick, now that he wasn't surrounded in a chaotic airport terminal with strangers. Now he was at the school with prospective friends. Before a couple of false starts for what was hopefully the more reserved members of the school, the direction of his travels took him to the southern part of campus.

He decided to try a courtyard, where he was certain that there would be a welcoming, open air environment to laze about and chat with a few people before orientation started. Upon entering the courtyard, Cass saw no one else except a lone figure sitting on a bench. Realizing that the figure, a tall girl dressed in a blue long sleeve top, jeans and a scarf, appeared to be wrapped up in her own thoughts. To make his presence known, he got closer to the girl and called out to the girl, "Hello there! I don't mean to startle you, I was just enjoying the weather outside." Indeed, the weather was indeed beautiful, with a bright blue sky and a few wispy, fluffy clouds to compliment the fall scenery of the school.

He added in his usual cheery, charming voice, gesturing at the bench "You don't mind if I sit here, do you? I was hoping to have someone to talk to on a first day, y'know?"

She hadn't even noticed him approach at first, so engrossed was she in her own thoughts of her life and where it was going. The man she had met, the one whom always seemed to wear that fancy suit, had provided her with lodging. A nice little apartment nearby that she had been staying in during the wait. It was quaint, certainly rather different to the shrine and small pagoda she had spent the majority of her life in. It had running water for one, she was rather close to claiming that having a shower was her favorite thing about her destination.

Standing outside, completely nude, on the cold winter morning of japan, all the while pouring lukewarm water over oneself in buckets, wasn't exactly something she relished in her memories.

As a result of her being lost in thought she jumped a little in surprise as she heard the males voice. He didn't mean to startle her... well he had regardless, though that was hardly his fault. "He... what? He wants to sit beside me?" Arashi looked at the boy and tilted her head with an expression of genuine confusion. "Have I... misunderstood this boys English?" She hesitated momentarily, rubbing her arm hesitantly, before realizing that leaving the silence drag on much longer would be very awkward. It was best in this situation, to follow her gut. "Oh, sorry, of course you may sit. That shouldn't be a problem for me." She smiled gently, her wording seemed a little awkward, but on account of her evident Japanese accent it should have been obvious why.

She watched the clouds go by momentarily as the boy presumably took the seat beside her. It certainly was a nice day, the clouds drifted through the sky as lazily as ever and rain seemed a million miles away. Just like home, she supposed. She pondered that thought for a moment... home. Where was home? Did she really have a home anywhere at all? The shrine was home, but without her mother and with the horrible memories she now had of that place... no, it certainly didn't feel like a home to her anymore. She sighed gently and took one of her long twin plaits in hand, she twirled the hair between her fingers, fidgeting with it a little before tossing it over her shoulder briskly. "Oh... I should probably talk to him huh?"

She looked at the boy beside her now. She was shorter than him, no surprise... and he looked just a little bit younger too, but not by much. She guessed maybe a year behind? He was very handsome, she had to note, she had never really taken an interest in boys or girls or whatever she supposed, would take her fancy, but she could appreciate at least when someone was above and beyond any sort of ugliness. He had a chiseled chin, a warm and welcoming expression... and a sort of deepness to his eyes that she assumed would draw someone in. Not her of course, the boyish aspect of his face and that pop star styled dark brown hair made him look a little soft... maybe it was her heritage, but that was enough to make his looks rather unimpressive to her personally.

His sense of style was a little bit more casual than hers, though not by so much. His hoodie was red. She liked red.

"My name is Arashi." She began slowly, trying to make her accent a little less strong. "I'm, how you say... an exchange student yes? I come from Japan, far to the East, or well... closer if you go West, but that's rather irrelevant." She stopped herself there before she started to ramble.

"Might you tell me your name as well?"

Michael wandered lazily down the street. No matter what he did he couldn't stop thinking about how this new school would react to him. Would they be closer to his personality considering it was a school built for troublemakers like him? Or would it be full of idiotic brutes that would undoubtedly try to bash his head in? He noticed the cool fall breeze had started to pick up a bit, wind whipping through his jet black hair. He stopped for a moment, sure that he had seen something move in the corner of his eye. He felt a chill, and then continued walking forward. Another movement.

"Hello? Show yourself!" he demanded

The response was a loud growl and the sound of claws on cement. One second he was on his way to school, the next he was surrounded by a pack of stray dogs.

"Why does this always happen? I hate dogs."

He took a step forward, holding the handle of a kitchen knife he had hidden in the side of his bag, and readied for the dogs to attack. This happened to him more than he'd like to admit, and he was growing pretty tired of it. The odd thing is that it seemed to be the same dogs every time, even though he killed them multiple times before. Each attack was a few weeks apart, but always the same.

The lead dog lunged at him, which he was ready for and dodged easily, however the second dog's attack was new. It's teeth dug into his heel, and he fell backwards. He kicked his feet, slamming them into the dog's muzzle, and spun around to face the lead dog again. The others closed in, but the leader barked at them and they backed away. He wanted the kill all to himself. Unfortunately for him, Michael wasn't going down so easy. He swung the knife at the dog, slicing at his face, and when the dog reeled back in pain, he quickly dispatched it, and then watched as the rest of the dogs scattered.

He sat down, exhausted and injured. He pried his shoe off, and stared at the blood dripping from his foot. "What do I do now?" he mumbled under his breath. He had a pretty bad bite to his heel, and the pain of walking on it was excruciating. He stood up on one foot, and limped down the street to the school entrance.

When he reached the entrance, he pushed open the doors, shuffled over to a bench, and then sat down and pulled out his map of the school, tears dripping down his face. He really hoped the school nurse was close by, and good at their job.

After the girl was startled regardless of Cass' warning involving his presence, he looked slightly apologetic before hearing her response to his question, which luckily was a yes. After sitting down, there was a brief awkward silence as Arashi seemed to have trouble striking up a conversation. Before Cass was about to say something to break up the silence, she said, "My name is Arashi." I'm, how you say... an exchange student yes? I come from Japan, far to the East, or well... closer if you go West, but that's rather irrelevant. Might you tell me your name as well?"

He noticed that she spoke with a somewhat thick accent that was Japanese. Cass couldn't help but be very interested in Arashi, sitting all by her lonesome self with no one in sight to help her along such a long distance. She must have so many things going through her mind. All alone and no one else seemed to want to talk to her first. Maybe I should put her mind at ease a little. Introducing himself with a warm, charming smile, he cheerily returned her greeting, "My name is Cass. Nice to meet ya! I'm so glad to have met someone on the first day." He chuckled in a light and bashful manner, "Kind of a skill of mine meeting all sorts of great people." He paused before adding, "Are you quite alright, coming from such a long distance to come here? I understand if you might be exhausted, overwhelmed or anxious about coming here. Must be quite the jump from Japan to New York."

A New Dawn
Lucas Samson
Son of Hemera
Three Fates School

The car door slammed forcefully and a blank faced teenager stood in its wake. He squared his shoulders, adjusted his navy blue backpack, and took a step forwards. The red Chrysler Avenger drove away, and he faced his new school for the first time. Luke thrust his right hand into the pocket of his Levi's and fumbled with the various papers until he pulled out a fistful of map, schedule, and dollar bills. He unfurled the map, pressing it against his jeans to straighten out the seams and hastily shoved the other various papers back into his pocket. He traced his finger along the map for a few seconds, as if something about it was bothering him, before looking up rapidly.

A red-haired girl wearing a purple cardigan and rhinestone embroidered jeans glanced as him as she walked into the school in front of him. He winked back at her, and her face broke out in a grin, but she continued into the school.

Luke strode forwards, passing through the front gates of the school. He pocketed the map with considerably more grace than he had exhibited before and entered the cloud of people. As he walked past various groups, he turned and smiled to them. A group of girls looked at him, looked back at each other and giggled. Luke grinned back and picked up his pace. He reached a four way split in the hallways and promptly headed left, like he knew the place. Luke strode down the hallway, and the people began to thin out, until he found the stairwell. He glanced down the hallway, and noticed a lone figure sitting on a bench dressed in all black. Luke's eyebrows furrowed as he noticed a red pool of liquid resting around the floor beneath the teenager's leg, which he was holding up. A red trail of, assumedly blood, snaked its way down his foot from what looked like multiple puncture wounds. The liquid looked as if fluid strawberries jam, sharply contrasting with the person's snow-white skin. A lone black shoe laid sideways in the mess of blood.

Luke rushed across the hallway and spoke immediately, "Are you okay?" The boy's only response was a grunt and a slight shiver of his head. "Do you need help? Do you need me to take you to the nurse?" Luke pressed again. The boy grunted again, and Luke sat next to the boy, throwing the boy's left arm over his own muscular shoulders. He stood up, allowing the stranger to lean on him for support. Luke stood up straight; the pale teen was considerably taller than him, but definitely weaker. His body was as solid as a rock, as he helped the other hobble along the hallway. Students started to crowd around the two of him, Luke just smiled and confidently said nothings about how the teen would be okay.

Luke paused momentarily and stuffed his hand back into his left pocket. When he pulled the map out, the bottom corner where Luke had grabbed the map was smeared with blood, the person he was escorting had clearly been touching the area of the wound and Luke had not noticed. Luke stared at the map, but looked up to see the people looking at the two of them and shined a smile, putting the map down and continuing in the way they were going before. Luke's new companion was likely loosing blood quickly, but Luke kept on walking forwards.

There was whispering in the crowd behind them and it parted as if by a sea. Luke swung around, turning his new friend with him. A large, imposing, heavyset woman with a gurney had appeared. She was dressed in a white button down that was aching at the buttons to be released, revealing a black undershirt beneath it. She had a nametag on that said 'Eille' or 'Ellie' or something. She wore a khaki skirt that abruptly ended far too high above the knees, beneath which meaty, slightly discolored, thighs protruded. "GET HIM ON!" She barked at Luke, who did not react for an instant, before sweeping the stranger off of his feet and plopping him onto the gurney. The students looked amongst themselves, and the nurse turned around, students instantly parting for them to pass through. Luke thrust his body forwards and propelled the gurney along, Ellie leading the way.

The map wasn't exactly the most detailed thing in the world. Well, part of that may have been due to the slight spinning of Michael's vision due to loss of blood. But no matter how difficult it was he needed to get to the nurse's office and get help. Out of the corner of his eye, or maybe the middle, he wasn't entirely sure, someone ran up to him. At first he was relieved that he'd have help, then he noticed that the guy helping him was one of those pretty-boy jocks who always teased him at his other schools. He wasn't going to be friendly to someone like that. Last time one of them tried to be friends with him it ended up just being a dare and they ditched him the next day, obviously this one was probably the same case.

"Are you okay?" the boy asked.

"Hmph" he grunted.

"Do you need help? Do you need me to take you to the nurse?" the boy asked again.

He responded with another grunt before the boy sat down next to him and then helped him up. Maybe this one wasn't that bad. They started walking down the hall, and a crowd of people started to gather around them. Michael wasn't exactly completely awake and functioning properly, but he still noticed that some of the kids were pointing behind them and yelling something about going the wrong way. Apparently this jerk was trying to let him bleed out all over the floor.

He didn't remember much after that. All he could really recall was being swept off his feet onto a gurney and being sent on his way, back in the other direction, to the nurse's office. As the world faded to black all he could think about was that stupid jock's face. He was probably gloating now. "I helped kill the weirdo before he could funk up our school!" He really hated jocks. They always got what they wanted and nobody ever questioned them. Most of them also came from rich parents that gave them whatever they wanted on a whim while Michael's mother worked her butt of and still can't bring in enough money for them to live legally in a building.

His thoughts were interrupted when he finally lost consciousness.

Sirus Osborne
u9uHK8K.png

17 | Male | Child of Hades

"I'm never going to get rid of you am I?" Sirus grunted as he opened his bedroom door and there was the ever familiar face of his ghostly best friend and bodygaurd Artemis Perceus Heracu Les, the third of his name and slayer of the Minotaur, or Arty as Sirus preffered to call him.

"Nope. You got your bag all packed? Made sure the knife is hidden in the secret pocket?" Arty called, his ghostly form causing the temperture in the room to drop several degrees.

The knife, a gift from Sirus' father that his mother had been instructed to give him on his tenth birthday, was a small dagger with a black metal blade with a crimson trim, the guard and pommel made of the bones of what Sirus hoped were an animal.

"Yes yes yes, its hidden and even if they search the bag I doubt they'll find it. Mums an excellent tailor, her stitching is almost magical." Sirus laughed as he slung the leather satchel over his shoulder.

"Good. Last thing I want is you getting attacked while you're at what these strange people call a school. I don't understand how they don't even train you to use a weapon, how is a man supposed to protect himself?" Arty groaned, once again complaining about the modern worlds lack of what he perceived as practicality.

Sirus didn't bother trying to explain things to the ghostly young man, he simply slid down the stairs, quite litterally, and caught the piece of toast that his mother tossed him.

"Have a good day honey!" The blonde woman in a waitress outfit with the beehive hair style called from the kitchen.

"You too mum, don't forget to tell that greasy pig to give you a raise already." Sirus replied through a mouthful of toast, grinning as he heard his mother howl with laughter in the other room.

As he opened the front door, he saw several ghostly forms standing around in their lawn. "Good luck Sirus" They all cried and cheered as he walked by.

"They're acting like I'm not coming back or something." The boy laughed as he and Arty walked past the crowd of ghosts gathered to see him off.

Arty didn't respond, which was unusual for him, however the young boy didn't bother pestering the ghost for answers. Arty had been around since Sirus was a baby, he was actually the first ghost Sirus remembered seeing.

"Hold." Arty growled, putting a hand out, accidentally sticking it through the young mans abdomen. Sirus quickly stepped back and looked around to try and figure out what had his ghostly companion spooked. "There." Arty said, pointing his finger towards an absurdly large bird soaring overhead. "I'll distract it, you just get yourself to the school." Arty whispered as he slowly crept up a nearby fire escape.

"Arty!" Sirus hissed as he followed his ghostly friend onto the roof of the building. The ghostly boy grunted in protest but was quickly silenced as he watched the dark haired boy throw himself onto the roof. The metallic bird cawwed as it saw its prey, and it spread its wings wide revealing the set of razor sharp feathers.

"I hope those hours of sparring with you actually payed off. Your dad is going to kill me if you die." Arty muttered, pulling a ghostly bow off of his back.

"Wait what?" Sirus asked, surprised to suddenly hear his friend mention his father, however he didn't have time to question him, because as they spoke the metal bird dived down and tore through the concrete roof of the building like it was butter.

As the bird neared them, Sirus readied his dagger and sliced at the bird, the blade easily carving a chunk of the metal away from the birds head.

Arty had notched an arrow and by the time Sirus dagger left the birds face, a strangely solid ghost arrow was embedded in the creatures wing. The creature roared in pain as a thick oily liquid seeped from its wounds as it flapped its metallic wings and took to the sky, circling the building.

"Watch out its going to-" Arty attempted to shout.

The bird flapped its wings once more, this time launching several metal feathers at Sirus who was impaled by two of them through his arm.

"Son of a-" Sirus cried as he almost dropped his knife from the unearthly amount of pain that the two razor sharp feathers were causing.

"They're coated in a poison that caused the nerves to react more fiercly, you have to tough it out untill we kill this thing!" Arty called, firing another arrow into the creature, this one penetrating somewhere in its chest.

"Easy for you to say." Sirus grunted as he swapped his knife into his left hand. He had been tempted to pull the razor feathers out, but they would have likely torn apart his one good hand, and with no way apply pressure to the wound while fighting it was wiser to leave them be, despite how much the pain was driving him insane.

Another cry from the bird signaled another flurry of feathers raining down upon them, but this time Sirus was preppared and he dove behind an air conditioning unit as the feathers tore into the spot where he had been standing. Twang! Another ghostly arrow penetrated into the bird.

"Its coming down for another flyby! Nows your chance!" Arty cried out.

The bird soared past Sirus' hiding spot and took a large chunk of the air conditioner with it. It landed on the roof and raised its wings and cried out wildly and thats when Sirus took his shot. Reacting on pure instinct his arm flew forward, sending the dagger hurtling through the air and implanting itself in the metal birds neck. Thick black oil spilled from the wound as the bird dissolved into a golden mist that seemed to be absorbed into the blade, which fell to the ground harmlessly.

It was at that point that Sirus blacked out from the pain.

Sirus awoke to Arty leaning over him. Well it looked like Arty, but significantly less... ghostly. The ghost had somehow gained a body. He wasn't alive, Sirus could tell that much just by looking at him. He lacked a certain aura that the living had, but other than that he appeared rather normal. He was even wearing some of Sirus clothes and not his usual greek toga.

"What happened?" Sirus mumbled groggily. His arm brushed against the leather seat of the cab he was in and he whinced in pain as pressure pressed onto the wound.

"I pulled them out and bandaged the wound, got you a spare hoody to cover the wounds but you'll have to be careful not to aggrivate them. If anybody asks, just tell them it was a knife fight. Anyway, you're almost late, you better get going!" Arty said, ignoring the boys questions.

"Late for wha-" Sirus suddenly noticed the sound of people talking outside of the car. He leaned up and looked outside the window to see a large sign with the words "Three fates school for troubled youth." Written on it in large letters.

"But how- why-" Sirus asked more confused than ever.

"Just get out already before you're late, I need to get this car back before somebody notices its gone." Arty sighed turning the keys in the engine.

"You stole a car?! More importantly when did you learn to drive?!" Sirus groaned as he opened his door.

"Oh, I watched your mum do it, and you were bleeding and unconscious and I needed to get you to school, YES I STOLE A CAR." Arty said as he shoved Sirus out of the car and closed the door before pulling away leaving the dumbfounded boy standing in the parket lot with his bandaged arm and an orange hoody half hanging out of his bag.

"What a way to start the day..." Sirus grunted in bewilderment.

Wesley "Wes" Keys
Child of Dionysus

Wes sat up in his bed, worried about what his day was going to be like. He was upset with himself for failing to fall asleep. It wasn't everyday that he had the opportunity to sleep in a bed as nice as the one he was in. Oh, that's right. I have to spend the whole damn school year here.

Getting dressed in an orange outfit, Wes exited his dorm and made his way to the main part of the "Three Fates School for Troubled Youth" . What the hell does Three Fates mean? What does it even have to do with being "troubled"? At least I can't make anybody at a school for insane people go insane. Well, perhaps I could make them go even more insane which may be fun. Wes clearly didn't understand the difference between a school for troubled children and an insane asylum, but he basically put them in the same boat. How can you hurt those whom are already hurt?

Speaking of which, Wes was walking through the halls and noticed a boy lying down on a bench, crying and bleeding. Big baby. Then again, he may be autistic or something. Still, it doesn't like it needs stitches to me. Wes continued walking, following his map to make it to his classroom. Looking at his fellow peers, he noticed that most of them were much bigger and older. He was nearly there when he heard a loud commotion coming back from the hall from where he saw the bleeding boy. "Looks like they found him," Wes said to himself, before entering his new classroom.

As much as he would've loved to take note of his surrounding, Wes felt much too tired. Instead he decided to go sit down in the back corner by an open window, where he noticed the smell of flowers. At least I can look forward to these all year long.

Waking Glare
Lucas Samson
Son of Hemera
Infirmary, Three Fates School
7kmOCpE.png

Luke propelled the gurney down the hallway, staring at the bulky figure striding before him. She took a sharp left and Luke reacted quickly, the gurney only grazing the wall. Luke looked down at the person beneath him and noticed that his eyes were gazing blankly up at the ceiling. Luke sped up, bumping the back of the cart into Ellie's rear end. She stopped suddenly and gyrated around, her eyes boring holes through the back of Luke's head. Luke stood up straight and the nurse glowered at him about to speak before looking down at the body of the teenager lying prone and instead muttered, "What is it with you demigods and dying? We haven't even had any attacks yet..." Luke leaned fowards, his eyebrows furrowed together, "Excuse me?" Ellie ignored him and began walking forwards again.

The two proceeded down the hallway into a florescent lit room with a shiny oak door. Luke pushed the gurney all the way in to the room, a secondary room branched off in the back, where presumably bed laid for people to heal from whatever horrible bugs were passed around in a boarding school. The gurney fit in the center of the bleached white room, leaving about six feet of walking room on either longer end of the device. Ellie stepped forwards, and began looking over the boy's body. His eyes opened and the body jerked forwards a little.

"Where am I? What happened?" Michael blurted out, jerking his head around to try to see why he was laying on his back. Did he fall over? He seemed to remember walking with someone before blacking out. Perhaps he passed out from exhaustion or something and they carried him to the nurse? He was having trouble remembering exactly what was going on before he passed out. He hoped that was normal.

He also noticed a boy standing next to him. The boy must have been the one he remembered walking with. If that thin guy carried him all the way to the nurse's office by himself, Michael would be thoroughly impressed. "Did you carry me here?" He asked, while pointing at the boy with a shaking finger.

Luke looked down, the boy had said something for the first time. He was about to say something, but the nurse spoke instead, "You were attacked by a large dog?" She asked as almost a statement. Luke stiffened sharply. Ellie reached down into her left pants pocket and pulled out an inch cube of a semi-transparent amber colored substance. She forcefully pushed the person's jaw down and thrust the cube into his mouth, covering his mouth with her hand to prevent him from spitting it out. He gagged reflexively and she needlessly said, "Chew."

He obeyed, chewing the odd object until it flooded his mouth with a wonderful flavor. The taste reminded him of both cookies and icecream at the same time. What kind of medicine was this? He instantly felt his body flood with warmth, and the pain in his foot was nullified within minutes. "What was that?" he asked in awe. "Ambrosia," She grunted.

Michael slid off the gurney and stood up. He wobbled at first, but he was standing and felt no pain in his foot. "That's amazing!" he exclaimed. "I don't know how you did that, but I don't really care." he smiled. "Everything before I blacked out is a bit fuzzy, do I know you?" he said to the boy standing next to him.

Ellie rolled her eyes and turned back to her desk, she began to push some papers around, like pieces of a puzzle. Luke looked to the teenager, "Not really, I helped you to this office, what's your name?" The boy looked down at him and said, "My name's Michael, and thanks for helping me."
"Yeah sure, no problem bro," Luke responded.
"Now I've got to go find where Mr. Crescent's room is and hopefully not run into any more large dogs on my way," Luke look at the floor. He looked away and casually ran his right hand through his hair. "Uh, how do we get to room 333?" Luke directed at Ellie. She turned around, her hands outstreched, but bent at the elbows, questioning, "Do I look like a map??" Luke looked away, back to Michael.

"Oh yeah! I have a map here somewhere." Michael replied, searching through his pockets. "I must have left it back with my stuff!" Michael announced, running out of the room. I sure hope nobody stole anything!

Luke watched Michael as he disappeared, and looked back to Ellie, sheepishly nodding his head. Ellie sighed and relented, "To get to the stairs go straight down the hallway and take a right, find the way from there yourself." Luke nodded to her, "Bad." She looked him straight in the eye and said, "Excuse me?" Luke looked down, and exited the room, leaving a fuming nurse behind him.

Amelia Ornstein

"Amelia! Amelia, wake up, we're here!" Amelia heard as her mother shook her awake. She was sitting in the passenger seat of her mother's car. They were parked next to the sidewalk of a large building. Numerous children that were about her age were going into the doors. Her mother walked her to the sidewalk and started interrogating her.
"Do you have everything you need? Are you sure you dressed warm enough? Do you want me to walk with you?"
"I'll be fine, mom" Amelia chuckled, interrupting her mother. " This isn't my first time in school."
"Okay sweetie, be good, don't run in the halls, and keep out of trouble. I love you!" Amelia's mother yelled as she walked with her suitcase up to the school.

"Three Fates School for Troubled Youths." Amelia said to herself as she walked through the door. The troubled youth being her. That's right, Amelia Ornstein: Troubled Youth. Being sent to a special school for something she didn't do. Of course, the authorities didn't believe her. Nor did her mom, her friends, or her anyone else. The psychiatrist they stuck her with claimed to believe Amelia, but she had her doubts.

Eventually, a man came to her defense, claiming to be Amelia's lawyer, regardless of the fact that Amelia had never seen the man once in her entire life. The man spoke to the police and got them to send her to this place instead of some youth prison in Arizona.

And that's the story of how Amelia Ornstein went from "Everyone's Favorite Tennis Star" to "Public Enemy Number One" and Amelia hated it. She hated the fact that no matter how many times she told her story, no one would believe her. She stopped and stamped her foot. Not because of the distrust, but because she getting angry thinking about it. She didn't know much about her abilities, but she understood that when she got upset, she... Well, it was just better if Amelia was outside when she was angry.

She turned and started walking hurriedly back to the doors. Amelia was almost there, when she rounded a corner and...

Slam!

Amelia ran right into another student and fell on the floor. As she picked herself back up, she turned and began to apologize. "Oh, I'm so sorry! This was all my fault! I was going too fast and wasn't looking where I was going! Are you okay? Do you need any help? My name's Amelia."

A look of confusion overwhelmed Arashi's face. She had already been in New York for a little while, did she still look so lost that someone would take pity and ask her if she was doing alright? A strange teenage boy no less? She winced a little and thought about her situation a little bit more carefully. She had been having trouble sleeping these past few days, constantly frightened that some bull headed monster would charge down her door... or that some winged fiend would burst through her window... but nothing ever happened. She felt oddly protected, something that was very unfamiliar to her at that point in her life, so unfamiliar in fact that she had trouble trusting the world around her, her surroundings, or anyone she happened to come across.

While this boy seemed genuine, he was no exception... though him calling her "great" was a little flattering at least, so he got brownie points.

"I've been very alright, yes, thank you for asking." She gave a gentle smile and pressed her hands together, twiddling her thumbs a little as a force of habit. "This country is very different from my home... much bigger and... taller, I should say... it has been tough to adjust, but I have been trying hard."

Arashi looked over to the window on the other side of the courtyard then, noticing a rather large group of students crowding around it to see inside. Between the gaps in peoples heads she barely made out what looked to be a nurse whom was rather... well endowed in the wrong places... rushing passed the glass in a hurry. Had someone really injured themselves that badly already? On the first day? Clumsy...

That sort of thing only reminded her how different her world was from all those present. It was a normal American high school, with normal American students. Meanwhile here she was, a Japanese samurai in training, daughter to a God and slayer of monsters. It felt like she was the protagonist of some low budget anime.

She shook her head, shaking loose the negative thoughts from her mind, before turning to face Cass again. She decided that, since he was here, she would take full advantage of him as a distraction from her troubled mind.

"So tell me, Cass you said?" She started, a curious tinge in her eyes. "Have you lived here in New York for very long?"

Archelaus Courson
Son of Hekate
Y'know what? Forget it. thought Archy. He wasn't very good with maps, and always ended up back in the same place where he started. Maybe I should ask someone?
So he wandered outside. The weather was very pleasant today. The cotton-like clouds drifted across the blue sky. There he saw two people chatting. One was a young man who wore a red hoodie and jeans, and a young woman in a long sleeve blue shirt, a scarf and jeans. The girl looked a little flustered. I don't think this is a good time Archy thought. I'll find someone else.

He wandered down the hallway and he saw a rather "big" woman pushing a gurney with a teenage boy on it. His leg was bloody.
Wow. The first day hasn't even started, and people are already getting hurt. Archy thought. Maybe he was fighting another guy? Better stay away from him...

Archy looked at his map and wandered absentmindedly, trying to find the room. Wham!
He ran into someone and they both came toppling down. Archy sat there nursing his head when he looked up and saw a girl rubbing her arm. She looked quite younger than Archy, twelve or thirteen? he assumed. She had her brown hair tied up in a ponytail, and she wore a green t-shirt and a denim skirt. Her face was dotted with freckles.
"Ouch. Sorry 'bout that! Here, lemme help you up." said Archy. He held out his hand, she took it, and he hoisted her up. "I guess I should use my eyes for once, huh?"
"Oh yeah, can you help me get to-" he pointed at his map "this room? I'm not good with maps, and I've been going in circles for ages!"
"Hmm" the girl mumbled. "Here's the problem, your map is upside-down. Here, I'll show you where the room is."
So they walked. The two went up the stairs and finally came to the classroom.
"So, might I ask, what's your name?" said Archy.
"Candace," she replied. "but everyone calls me Candy." she replied with a smile.
They entered the classroom and took their seats.

Cassidy "Cass" Hawthorne
duco4rM.jpg

With Arashi offering a gentle smile and reassuring Cass that she was alright adjusting to the United States, Cass replied, "Great to hear that you're doing well here. The US is certainly a big place, a wonderful one too. Of course, I hope you find that the people here are to your liking too."

Cass seemed content to know that even with her initial discomfort and demure, fidgety appearance that Arashi seemed to be a really sweet and likeable person. This made Cass quite glad that he got the opportunity to make an acquaintance so early. Perhaps it was a sign that being so far from home and in a bit of a funky situation.

Noticing that her eyes were briefly drawn to a spectacle over by a window on the other side of the courtyard. After briefly noting the spectacle and hoping whoever that was would be okay, Arashi said to Cass, "So tell me, Cass you said? Have you lived here in New York for very long?"

In response, he replied, "Nah, I don't live here in New York. I live in Portland, Oregon. I just recently came here for the school."

Not wanting to delve into exactly why he was here for fear of sounding like a crazy person, Cass changed the subject and said, "Believe me, Portland's a great place. My dad's got a florist shop downtown, we have some nice scenery, weather is great, great people and lots of outdoors things to do not too far away." He added with a wink, "If you're feeling brave, you could even scale Mt. Hood. I can't do that, eheh, I'm not that brave or fit. You seem like you'd be up to the challenge though." Indeed, apart from her more muscular frame and whatnot, something told Cass she'd be more at home doing stuff like that than here at a school. It was a quality he couldn't quite pin down yet about her, but nonetheless stood by it.

The Long Ride

The mirages swished and swirled in heat of the desert sun. The blue sky overrun with amber light from not-yet-setting sun. The road stretched out as far as the eye could see. The tarmac was a blend of patchy fresh tarmac and stone grey lane. Callum hovered above the ground just an inch and the rest of the world twisted and contorted around him. The path was simultaneously moving and not. He could see every detail of the road but when he looked up the dotted markings rushed past him The desert winging each side of the highway turned in to a sea of sand. The road widened, engulfing the sand.

The sun retraced its trajectory and setted in east. Night befalls the twisted universe. A star transformed in to a great stone mask with wings stretching out the sides of the face. The mask flew over like an eagle. His vision followed the great bird until it was right atop him and it filled his view. As the eagle left his vision, it faded away, leaving everything black. Callum was now bodiless. A wooden wheel brushed aside the black, it began to spin and spin on forever until it broke in to three identical spinning wheels with a thread going between them that crossed over between the ones on the side.

The engine hummed and reverberated throughout the car. The sun split in to an octagon with beams of light splitting out and bathing the city in a warm glow. The streets and trees moved past them. Callum felt a pressure against his cheek and his gob was open stupidly. He gently brushed his honey blond hair from his eyes. He straightened from his posture, peeling his cheek from the glass. He was wearing a very comfortable white tee shirt with an open red checked short sleeved shirt over it. He looked over to his stepfather who was gripping the muscle car's steering wheel firmly. The furnace at the head of the beast roared zealously.

Callum stretched out his mouth widely in a yawn, trying to stretch out and bend his back in to a bow however he was constricted by the seatbelt. Brendan darted an eye over to him before returning to the road. ?Finally awake, kid??
He rubbed his eye. ?How l-?
?An hour, but you got to sleep fast.? Brendan smiled, ?Emily said you liked sleeping.?
?More than you think.? Callum replied.
?We're almost there.? At that very moment. They cleared the corner and revealed the school, it had two floors and a large entrance. The vehicle turned in to the car park. Callum opened the door and got out, finally stretching. He yanked his green backpack out of the foot well and slung it over one of his shoulders. ?I'll see you later, kid.? The muscle car growled as it scrambled away. Here he was at the school for the troubled. Callum didn't think he was troubled, just sleepy. The opposite of an insomniac, that isn't too bad, is it? What did the doctors call it? Hypersomnia. The only thing which seemed abnormal was the accidents that happened around him. It was almost like every time he had a bad dream, the room would get smashed to pieces.
He looked around, observing the students all around. He saw a boy be rushed in to the nurse's office in passing but thought nothing of it. He just wanted to know where is dorm was so he could unpack and have a nap, but in order to know where that was, he needed to go to this orientation thing. One of the best things about this being a boarding school is that he can sleep at school without getting in trouble, Marvelous! He walked forward, his bag looked light but it was quite heavy because Callum forwent the use of a suitcase. He walked in through the doors of the school and walked down the corridor, looking for the door he needed.

Michael Wayne

Michael's shoes squeaked on the slick floors as he barreled through the halls, knocking against kids walking casually to class. He had to find his stuff before someone decides to steal it. He passed by classroom upon classroom until he passed by a window. Wait a minute, he thought, I'm on the second floor now! As soon as he realized his mistake, he ran down the nearest staircase, and then proceeded to sprint through the first floor hallways. He almost missed it, but spotted his stuff just in time, skidding to a stop.

He walked over to the bench he had been sitting on to rest his injured foot. His bag was still flung over to the side, and he happily picked it up and slung it over his shoulder. He then noticed that he wasn't wearing one shoe, and quickly noticed the bloody object on the floor. He picked it up and flung it into a trash can, and then pulled out his map. Now, which way to class?

After a while he finally gave up with the map and asked one of the teachers in a nearby classroom where the room was. It took him a little while to get there, but he finally made it, only to find that the teacher wasn't there yet. It turns out Michael wasn't late, although if the teacher didn't get here soon, he would be.

Just as he was about to go sit down he heard a loud and almost angry voice behind him. "Are you gonna take a seat, or stand there on yer feet all day?" He turned, and then immediately regretted it. The teacher was a large man with an abnormal amount of body hair and breath that smelled like rotting meat. Michael instinctively gagged at the smell, earning a snarl from the teacher. "Sit. Down. Now." the man growled. Michael decided not to test this man's temper. He was scary enough as he was. He quickly stumbled into a seat, and the man took a seat at his desk in the front of the room. He then had to stand back up when the phone rang. As soon as the person on the other end finished speaking he hung up and then sat back down. "Mitchel Wade to the principals' office." he stated before plopping his bare, hairy feet on the top of his desk.

"Michael Wayne?"

"That's what I said. Mitchel Wade." he replied, closing his eyes and leaning back in his chair.

I wonder what they want. he thought. He was about to ask where the office was, when he noticed it was right across the hall. He walked over to the door, turned the knob, and pushed the door open. He was instantly greeted by a short, plump lady's friendly voice. "Hello! Greetings! Welcome!"

"Stop being so excited! You'll be worn out by the time we get through the whole class!" a thin, frail hunchbacked woman scolded the one who welcomed him. It was then that he noticed that the two arguing had grey eyes that were glassed over, and neither of them looked at each other while talking. They were blind. The one in the center, an average looking old woman, looked at him and motioned to a chair. "Please, sit. We have many questions for you." He obeyed, sitting in a chair that was uncomfortably stiff to say the least. "We have records of you attacking you neighbors' dogs on numerous occasions, as well as the events continuing to happen after multiple moves to new homes." the way she said it implied that she expected a response.

"Well, first of all the dogs attacked me, and second of all those records were sealed by the police department last time a nosy school official tried to blackmail me with them."

The woman continued. "We here at Three Fates strive for the best learning environment for our students, and you seem to have a streak for breaking that kind of atmosphere." Before he could say anything she began to speak again. "However, we understand that many of these issues were out of your control. Tell me, have you ever experienced anything else strange?"

"Other than nosy principals who seem to know more about my life than they should? Can't say I have." he lied.

"Nothing like terrible nightmares or," she paused, "any mysterious appendages sprouting out of your back?"

"Did you just ask me if I have wings? What kind of funky creature do you think I am? I'm leaving!"

"I see. Mark down that he was uncooperative, and then check the 'undeveloped' box on the bottom" she instructed one of the blind ladies, who began to complain about not being able to see where the box was.

"What do you mean 'undeveloped?'" he questioned.

"Well, we might have been able to be more transparent had you cooperated. Next time, then." she waved him out of the room.

"Send one of your wonderfully 'groovy' friends in when you return!" the plump lady said enthusiastically.

When he returned to the room he told anyone who was listening, "They said they wanted someone else to go, apparently they want to talk to everyone in the class." Then he sat down in his seat, and waited for class to start.
