Anna indulged herself in a silent cheer as the missile nailed her target. The Lucario had led her on a merry chase, but in the end, her missile came out victorious. The body went flying off after the explosion, its form crashing into a tree causing a limb to splinter and collapse upon him as it did so. Anna stored her gear and swung her legs about the branch she was currently seated upon. With grace and dexterity that wasn't her own, she clambered her way down the tree he had seated her and placed her feet firmly on the forest floor once again. Mere seconds had passed before a shell shot out of nowhere and took her feet out from under her. Her body caught itself as she braced against the still nearby tree.

Quickly regaining her posture, Anna ran through the forest to where her target lay. It was like a hellish Mario obstacle course. Koopas and shells flying in every direction. Other combatants going at each other like a scene from the first Avengers movie; it was chaos. The body of Lucario had flown farther than expected, Anna had to slosh her way thigh deep through the nearby stream and come out soaked from the bottom down. It bothered her little, knowing that her body suit would dry quickly. The residual water fell off her and saturated the moist earth even further.

Just as she was on the outskirts of the Lucario's perimeter, she skillfully unlatched her gun's holster and hoisted the weapon into a ready position. Her mind only had one thought, "end it, if it's not dead, end it". She drew closer, her pistol still at the read, her right arm resting on her left for stability. He was in her sights, just a few more steps and she would have a clear shot. Who knew how these projectile weapons worked on this island? Would a bullet still act the same as in the normal world, or would it simply damage him?

Her eyes had to readjust as she entered a clearing from the protection of the trees above. The limb the Lucario took down with him had formerly provided great shade in this particular spot. Now, the light streamed forth unfiltered, light rays beaming through from the sun above. It was as she came upon him, that she began to have second thoughts. He was indeed human. Not some monster like she had almost hoped was the case. It would have been so much easier to kill a monster. Lowering her weapon, she hesitated for a brief second before raising it to his head once again. For what seemed like an eternity, she stayed locked in this position; him laying there, his breaths coming hurried and shallow, oblivious to the world around him. Here she was, a gun to the head of a helpless man. Her arm began to shake, whether it be from fatigue or doubt, she didn't know. With a sigh of exasperation, she lowered her weapon for good and holstered it securely.

Her conscience got the better of her, she couldn't kill a defenseless man. But, it didn't mean she wouldn't protect herself. Just to make sure he wasn't faking, she reared back her leg and kicked him firmly in the rib cage. If he had indeed been faking, that would have caused a reaction for sure. Nothing. Again she sighed, not sure of what to do. If he woke, she would be fully exposed and defenseless. Yet, she had to know what he wanted. Reaching into her gear, she pulled out a block of C4 explosive and a detonator. Adhering it firmly to the man's chest as to make sure it not being easy to remove, she sat on her knees a reasonable distance away and watched the boy intently, finger tensed over the trigger. She made sure she was far enough away from any potential blast, but close enough so that he could see her. It was only a small amount of C4 after all, a personal dose if you will. Any sudden moves and she would blow him sky high.​

James continued the lightning-fast flurry of sword swings even when the girl turned around; mistake on his part, as he got hit by jolts of electricity. He gasped and was forced to kneel out of pain and grasp one of his thighs. He was truly getting angry with this girl - they all were on the same side, but she just wouldn't understand.

The jolts hit the Mario guy as well, making him roll away. Suddenly, a green flash caught his eyes; he turned to see another item from SSBB, and quite the item: the Final Smash ball that changed colors occasionally. It was a vivid green right now. Without hesitation, he flapped his wings, quickly leaping over to it and stabbing it directly with his sword. The area got dark and his body and eyes started glowing with the colors produced by the Final Smash; green, red... He instantly felt powerful, and knew exactly how to pull the move off. His mind created a mental image of Meta Knight hurling his cape over his opponent's heads, then darkness engulfed them completely. The slash that followed if he was successful was wide and powerful - the Mario guy would be hit too.

But, this Final Smash was definitely going to be proven useful against his opponent. The power of Meta Knight was his now - he couldn't believe it. Just as he was about to test this power, the Mario guy threw a Home Run at him; he folded his wings and tumbled to the guy's right.

"How are we supposed to survive out here if you two go off killing each other? I know theres an ounce of sense within you all. We're all human here!" said the Mario guy, trying to break the fight up. James didn't quite get him. Were they just going to allow the girl to attack them?

"Not all of us are humans, it seems!" he yelled angrily. "This girl cries like a goddamn Pikachu!"

Deciding this was the right time, he extended his left arm towards the Pikachu girl as if grasping an invisible object and his left wing dissipated into darkness that was shot against her. She was quickly frozen inside the darkness engulfing her, James preparing his sword. But the thing didn't go quite right - the darkness returned to James, hitting the Mario guy as well. He froze on his place and James stood indecisive for a moment. What would happen if he moved?

Meanwhile, the darkness had engulfed them, the image of the trees and grass fading away... James leaped on the Pikachu girl, swinging it wide in a finishing blow that would throw her away from his grip of darkness.

Anna held her breath as the Lucario figure began to stir. Was it consciously, or merely her body's way of reacting to the stress of the situation? His eyes fluttered open, dancing with pre-waking effort. His gaze carried almost listlessly to the light leaking through the leaves above. She tensed anew as the Lucario-man raised his hands and managed to get himself on his knees and finally his feet after a great deal of effort. He...he spoke to her. It took her a second to translate exactly what he said. She was taken off guard by the suddenness of it all.

Not much longer and he finally noticed her little surprise strapped to his chest. His sudden expletive let it be known to all within earshot that was the case. He looked at her, her own face steely and reserved. His hands shot into the air, a slightly defensive stance took over him as he began to hold perfectly still.

"Hey... I'm not the enemy. I saw you helping us against the Koopas, but you got knocked out... so I tried to get you to safety. I'm -not- the enemy, okay?" He spat out, still facing her direction unchanged. But, wasn't that exactly the thing an enemy would say to try and weasel their way out of something? She heard his answer and had deemed it lacking. Just as she was about to bring down her finger on the button, another man approached from her side.

"Miss," he called out to her, his tone sounded kind but one could never tell anymore, "can't you deactivate the bomb strapped to him? After all, we gotta stick together if we want to survive this! Settle your differences peacefully and save the battles for when it's actually needed, alright?" He added on before asking the boy if he was badly hurt. Anna took this opportunity to pull out her gun with her free hand and level it across her shoulder at him. Her mind racing with possibilities; blow the explosive, one down...inhale, hold, exhale, squeeze trigger three times, impact, stand, get close...then what? What had happened to her? Since when does she think this way? Was she losing herself to these abilities?

Her gaze carried back to the Lucario, he didn't seem like a monster or enemy when he was awake. In fact, when he had noticed the explosion, he looked almost vulnerable to her. Maybe as vulnerable as she actually felt. Then, this newcomer had all kinds of variables that presented issues. Against any rational thought, it was a good idea for them to try and get along. She just hoped she didn't live to regret the decision. The gun slowly reentered its holster, it locked in place with a satisfying, if slightly loud, 'click'.

Anna stood from her knees and walked towards the Lucario-man. Suspicion and caution radiated in her eyes and complexion. Her hand still tensed and had a death grip on her detonator. She soon entered the estimated blast radius, if she had decided to detonate, she would not avoid damage herself. Slow and practiced steps carried her directly in front of him, her eyes staring directly into his as if to sense betrayal. A leap of faith, that was what she was taking. Easier said than done for somebody who always had a hard time believing.

"Don't move," her heavily accented english carried with it the first words she had spoken to anybody but Camelia since arriving. Carefully, her hands went to work expertly defusing the bomb. Her breathing was heavy and attention focused as she fiddled with it almost endlessly. Several minutes passed before she was able to detach it from him completely and put it back in her belt.
