It still gets high-pitched when I make the output device DirectSound.

Well did you import the instrument you're going to use? If you just set it to direct the point it to garbage, you're going to play garbage.

You can get it from anywhere. Also my tutorial covers inserting instruments. If you're getting a song from a game, you should use the samples from said game so it sounds exactly the same.

Nope. It's just for example. You wouldn't need to import a song to import others lol

Oh, that's right, the pics were removed.

This tutorial is extremely old though, I'd follow it but ask questions if you really need to. I never did explain things correctly or update anything, sorry.

Like, how old? Does everything still work?

Everything still works as it should, but it's not explained in the best of ways and not in the newest swing of things. This is how we used to insert songs, and it takes a long time, but it's useful if you're only adding a song here and there and not trying to redo a whole soundtrack if that makes any sense whatsoever lol

It does :)
Are there any tutorials for the new stuff?

Nope, but this should be enough to do songs and instruments still. This tutorial is OK, but it's not greatly explained which is a pain. But if you understand, then good for you lol
Again, if you have questions just ask me. But it's better not to spam the thread, so join the chat http://chat.linkandzelda.com:9090/?channels=GoGo

I have two questions:

1.) Which Root Key should I type in the calculator: from the Instruments tab (the one with the table) or from the Samples tab (the one to export WAV)?

2.) Should I import type the loop (from the low pass filter frequency) even if it is higher than the sappy shown (example: 20000 / 16565 (almost dls I have ripped are having 20000)?

1: The root key is labeled "root key" lol
The tut shows you where it's found. The pictures are no longer there so you'd have to skip to that part
2: Same thing, the loop is labeled loop lol

I changed the RAM pointers to expand the amount of tracks, it worked well, but some notes doesn't disappear(after title screen) and plays forever.
How can I fix this?

The gen 3 title screens are a bit stupidfunky. They sometimes don't end songs like they should; they perform a fadeSong but it doesn't work fully.

The only way to fix it is to
1: Skip the title screen
2: Create an entirely new title screen
3: Keep the old title screen song

It's 100% not your fault, it's the games' faults.

I don't understand how to change the RAM pointers to expand the amount of playable tracks. All I understand is "change 0A 00 00 00 to 10 00 00 00", but the rest I'm clueless.
Also, is there any possibility you'll make a quick tutorial video on this after you explain it to me? I think it could be really helpful to the more visual learners out there like myself.

You need to point to the RAM offset of 0x03004308, so you'd put 08 43 00 03 at 0x4A32A0
