Mark was curious of what he could learn about the two types. He was never too sure about Grass Pokemon since they had so many glaring weaknesses to about half of the known types and weren't that great offensively either usually. But maybe he'd be surprised and find something under all of that and see the potential the two types had. Bug types tended to go all around. Mark had Able, which as far as he knew, was the fastest Pokemon alive.

She mentioned that students should only have two Pokemon out. Mark unfortunately had three including Snype. But Snype was such a small pokemon he doubt it would matter. He was sitting next to him anyways. Hopefully the teacher wouldn't mind. He'd put him away if she said to do so.

The teacher asked the class what the difference between a Grass and a Bug type was. Sounded simple but it was hard for Mark to come up with a legit answer that didn't sound completely ridiculous. If this were similarities then Mark could totally think of plenty. He stayed silent for the moment.

Able stuck near Roberto, still curious about what his beef with Snype was.

"You really don't like the guy do you? What'd he do? Look at you the wrong way?" Able couldn't help but ask, floating closely by him.

Gene Kitoshi Location: Gene Kitoshi's Classroom:

Gene noticed as a girl had came in a little bit late but it didn't bother him much. As long as she didn't make a habit of being late. The teacher sat back leaned up against the board behind them as he looked around the classroom. Some of these kids had some strong looking Pokemon for sure but nothing he couldn't handle for the next part he had in mind. Gene wanted to pick out two students out of the pack for his next little activity. Once it had seemed that everyone had picked a Pokemon Gene put a big smile on his face. Now it was time to see if they had set up that extra room that he wanted. He looked over a bit past Red Alert and noticed a door that lead to another room. That was probably it and boy would the students love it.

To pick the students that would help him out in his little activity he looked down on his list of students for the day. He randomly picked two and decided that they should come in the room first. "Alright students I want you all to follow me into this room but I want Skye and Valorie Ryder to come in first," He said with a smirk as he and Red Alert walked through the door into the extra room. On the inside of the room was a huge battle area along side a exercise area and a pool. Gene had spent some of his extra savings on having this placed built before he came here. Having this extra room would make a great training area. The size of the room was huge so it would be great to have battles.

He had his Bisharp walked onto the other side of the battle arena. There he released Volt also. Picking Volt would be best way to show a pokemon that he always had a good connection with and one he didn't. Once all the students would come in he'd give Skye and Valorie instructions on what was going to happen next.

Maxwell Leggingsteele
Cafeteria
------------------------------

Maxwell listened with great interest to Vriska. She seemed like a really nice person and he felt that they would probably become good friends in the future. But for now, she was talking about how her Spinarak had laid some eggs which she left in the care of her bug-hating brother. The teen laughed at the idea of a young man sitting on a floor, trying to get a horde of Spinaraks off of his body.

But then, she had asked him if he'd like one. Maxwell's eyes shone up, thinking about how cute a small Spinarak would be. He also laughed at that Vriska called Hugin 'Scoffer', it was pretty fitting for the bird to be honest. Meanwhile, Hugin was not having as much fun as Maxwell and Vriska. He caught the malevolent look in her eyes. That little... Was she gonna' play that game? Fine then! The Honchkrow cawed quietly at Vriska in displeasure, oh she was going to get it.

"Oh, I'd LOVE to have a cute Spinarak-baby! And I'm sure Slackey here would love it too. He just adores babies of all kinds!" Maxwell said and held up his Slakoth. The Normal-type nodded agreeingly at what his Trainer had just said after letting out a yawn.

Maxwell continued to listen to Vriska's story. Apparently her mother was somewhat of an experienced hacker. Maybe she had worked at some big corporation like Silph Co.? Whatever the case, it seemed interesting. What the teen found a bit funny though, was the fact that she had caught her Pokémon by accident. That was a bit different from how he'd gotten his hands on his Pokémon.

"Ha, that sounds pretty hilarious actually! It sure is different from how I obtained my Pokémon though. All of my Pokémon were given to me as eggs which I then hatched of course." Maxwell began. "Well, everybody except Katam here." He said and held up the Tympole in front of Vriska. The tadpole studied the girl in front of him for a while before happily vibrating his cheeks towards her. "Oh! I don't think that you've seen someone of Katam's species before right? Well he is a Tympole. And truth to be told, I don't know much about him either except that he is a Water-type and evolves into something called a Palpitoad and after that he becomes a Seismitoad."

Jimmy Vincent and Alice Crenshaw
Classroom

Alice opened her eyes and smiled. Her blue eyes were sparkling, and once could see joy in them. He giggled softly and then wrote down her correct answer on her notebook. Jimmy heard the giggle and turned to see his red-haired classmate happily taking down notes. He raised his right eyebrow in confusion. How could anyone enjoy taking notes? Or do that with such...emotion? Must be that coffee's job...

The teacher, Mr. Smith, weent on to ask a question to another student, someone whose last name was Amarosa. Alice turned to Jimmy with a huge grin on her face just as Jimmy went back to staring at his notebook blankly. Around the notes, there were flames drawn in pencil, which certainly gave the kid's notes a more interesting look. He was about to go back to them, when suddenly a voice next to him startled him and made him drop the pencil to the floor.

"Whatcha doing?~" Alice asked happily.

Jimmy rolled his eyes and sighed. Then he bent over to pick up his pencil so that he could continue with what he was drawing. While the rebellious-looking boy was trying to grab his pencil, Alice took Jimmy's notebook and examined it. The page she was on contained the notes from today's class, with some flames he drew himself.

"Wow, these are cool!~" she commented.

Jimmy grabbed the pencil. However, as he did, Alice's voice told him that she was checking out his notebook. He would have normally shrugged, but then remembered that some notes special to him were written on that notebook, about the class before, where he met this N guy who had a legendary Pokémon with him. Jimmy's eyes opened wide as soon as he heard the sound of a page flipping over, and quickly went back to his sitting position.

"No! Gimme that back!"

Alice was reading the text, and she found it somewhat weird. Suddenly, she felt the notebook being snatched from her, and Jimmy was looking at her looking rather upset.

George Edmunds

George left the cafeteria after grabbing a quick breakfast with his pokemon. Aber and Kane had decided to rest in their pokeballs and so only Uhuru the bagon walked beside him as he entered the cool morning air.
"Well where is that mining class Uhuru?" George asked the little pokemon.
"Bay...BAGON!" The pokemon wandered ahead along the path.
"Hey! Wait up! You have no idea where you're going either!" George walked briskly after the baby dragon pokemon. As he caught up he found himself stood next to another boy and his cubone looking equally lost.
"Oh hi! didnt see you there...," George said smiling as he put a firm hand to the bagon's head stopping it wandering off any further.

Lucia Francisco Bernavard

Lucia looked over at the girl that answered and thought her answer was good enough, still, she felt an odd sense to one up her. She was a Bernavard after all, why waste her parent's money as well as her time if she wasn't going to so much as answer a question?

"Ms. Sandoval, another difference between the two is that grass types have a advantage over water types while bug types have an advantage over psychic and dark type pokemon."

She gave a quick glance over to the other girl, but it was just a simple glance. What did she have to prove to another student who probably came from a everyday middle class family?

Robert was silent for a bit. "No... much worse." He said simply. "If I was to tell you, I would be honor bound to end your life in any way possible."

Ash

Good, more are here. Time to play. She turned around, purposely looking past them as she spoke to those already moving. "So..." she drawled. "Continue with that for the next five minutes then pick a partner. You fight each other, but do not go in for serious injuries. When you or your partner taps out three times, switch with someone else!" Each of these commands was spoken crisply, merrily, completely unconcerned.

"My name is Ash Harris, you may call me Ash," she introduced as she paced. "For all you students who haven't heard my name from the others, I am a teacher of Self-Defense and Intermediate Battle Study. Pray you only get me for this class kids." She winked jokingly at those words as she walked around them all. "This class is so when you get out there in the big bad world and somebody jumps you, you can do something about it. Throwing out a Pokeball does not work in a mugging. Believe me, I know people who've tried."

She stopped on the beach. "Your Pokemon are very important but sometimes to make them stronger you yourself must do the same."

Ciel

Ciel jumped, visibly jumped at the sight of a sudden other boy within range. He had a Bagon, which were known to be stubborn folk. He looked up at the other and looked down puzzledly at the hand. "H-Hi!" he squeaked out shyly, shaking it nervously. "Um... I..." He trailed off lamely.

Dante looked at the young dragon and nodded coolly before glancing at his trainer.

Skye

This is going to hurt.

Valorie was strong. Okay, not just strong, but... kind of crazy strong. She trained like a madwoman and her team was a Dragon oriented one for Reshiram's sake. Rama was probably going to get socked around like a chew toy in an Arcanine's mouth. Well... that was probably for the best. Rama wasn't exactly good at this.

He got to his feet and followed the teacher inside the battle room. Rama trotted casually after him, not particularly concerned. He wasn't ever all that concerned, except when it came to sleep. The fact that he wasn't even at level 30 and was about to face a Haxorus was not all that big a deal. Pala would probably have a blast though.... even when she cried.

"Tch. I coulda thought of that one..." Mark thought to himself in his head. He had a feeling the teacher was looking for another kind of answer. Something more complex then type advantages. Granted Mark still had plenty to learn and heck, he just now learned bug types had an advantage over Dark types. The more you know...

Able let out a sigh at Roberto's response. He was pretty cold that was for sure.

"Sheesh, you sound like your from some kinda secret society or something. Alright fine keep it to yourself. But I think I'll stick around! I need a buddy in this class! And that thing really isn't the best company." Able said, motioning over to Shedinja. It turned around and stared at Able and Roberto for awhile. After the creepy moment it turned around.

Mark finally had an idea on how to answer the question.

"Grass types tend to have less resistances compared to bugs right? They're usually more vulnerable. At least the Pokemon back in Kanto tend to be... though I guess bugs are kind of in the same situation themselves... though Grass Pokemon aren't all the great offensively I suppose..." Mark said, hoping he was getting somewhere and not embarrassing himself. He hated that feeling.

Mitzi Abelle

By the time Mitzi found the class she was supposed to be attending it was clear that she was going to be at least a little bit late. She knew she wasn't exactly queen punctuality, but being late for her first class at the academy was just plain embarrassing. It had taken a lot of aimless wandering and an enlightening glance at her schedule to find that the class she was in was not actually in a building. This being a school and all, she had kind of assumed.

She crept up on the class as incredibly slowly as she could, trying to find a place to slip in, but alas, the teacher was moving around way too much. Maybe Mitzi wasn't so late that she would be punished. Some teachers weren't so strict. Maybe she'd just get scolded or something.

For a class called 'Self Defense' that hope seemed a little too optimistic.

Nika Valentine

Nika couldn't help but be a little suprised by the girl with the Scizor's answer, it was more extensive than she was expecting another student to give. Then again, the girl did have that Scizor, so of course she knew a little about bug types. And there was no reason why she couldn't know about grass types as well, but still... Nika didn't want to be outdone in what should be her top class here at the Academy.

Once again her hand shot up into the air. If she was going to earn the number one position in this class she was going to have to bring out some of the knowledge she had learned while studying information on her Parasect.

"As we're discussing type match-ups and resistances for both the grass and bug types, it's interesting to note that Grass type pokemon are naturally resistant to Grass type moves. So they resist against their own type, basically. Bug pokemon unfortunately don't have this advantage, they are affected normally by moves of their own type. Some experts theorise this is due to the often symbiotic, less aggressive development of plant life, compared to the survival of the fittest behaviour found amongst insects."

Well, that was sure to do it. If the Scizor girl could top that then Nika would just have to wait until the next opportunity. She wouldn't even have known that if she hadn't spent a good hour reading text books on Paras after catching hers yesterday.

George Edmunds

"H-Hi!" The boy squeaked seeming to avoid eye contact with George. "Um..I..." His voice trailed off leaving the two of them stood there in silence.
"Are you okay? Are you lost?" George broke the silence cautiously. It was clear the other boy was not one for socialising and it would not do to spook the only other person who may be able to help him find his class.

Uhuru looked back at the Cubone and then at the shy boy. As his trainer tentatively attempted a conversation; thus releasing its head from his grip, Uhuru wandered off to the side of the path and sat down giving a little yawn as it did so.

Ruby Sapphire Fiona Destiny - Cafetaria

Ruby entered the Cafetaria after someone commented about her standing there and looking at her PokeGear. 'A-ah? Oh! N-no i haven't been standing long here...' Ruby quickly went inside and took a seat wherever was avaible for her to sit down, she was too busy with Hikari and her PokeGear that she didn't notice who she was sitting next.

'Damnit... Yuki probely jumped on it again...' Ruby commented after she putted her PokeGear away, it seemed to be broken and she couldn't find a way to repair it.

Roxas Jaden Asakura - Miss. Elizabeth's class

Roxas followed the other students inside the class and noticed the teacher's appearence. 'What?! Our teacher is someone younger than us?!' Roxas commented too loudly. 'i'm sorry, i didn't meant it like that...' Roxas quickly apologized to the teacher and took his seat. 'Weird school...' He said really quietly.

But how much he kept on thinking and trying to push his thoughts away, he could only think about apologizing to the red haired girl he had met yesterday. After awhile he started to pay attention to a guy in the classroom talking to the teacher, Dante seemed to be his name.

Fangs first class...

The teacher turned and looked at fang and spoke, he talked quickly, but also fairly relaxed:

"Hello there, come on in, sit down. What is your name new student?"

It was a moment or two, with lots of false starts, Uhms, Arhs, and nervous swallowing before he managed to introduce himself.

"H-hello Sir... I'm Holden...James Holden - but people just call me fang..."

After a further few moments Fang moved away from the door and took a seat towards the back of the class, hoping to keep to himself, he didnt know anyone - apart from the teachers name, and so he got an empty notebook and assorted writing tools from his bag and began to organize them upon the desk before him, waiting for the class to begin.

I hope the teacher doesnt make me introduce myself infront of the class, that would suck big time...

After getting his study materials arranged in a suitable manner he lifted his head a few inches so he could look around at his peers.

I hope we dont have to battle each other...

Lucia Francisco Bernavard

Lucia frowned, but didn't answer again. This girl was good, really good. She really only knew specifically about Scizors since her family was protected by them after all! It only made sense to know extensively about them. She just stared forward and waited for Ms. Sandoval to have them start taking down notes. She would definitely have to brush up on her subjects after this class and learn more for the next class.

Roberto flinched slightly at the word 'buddy'. "Know this tiny one. I am not your friend, I am not your 'bud' and I do not engage in leisure activities. If you knew why you would understand. Since you do not, then fine. I will not or ever tell you or others. Deal with it."

CHAPTER IV: MAXWELL
PART III

Vriska stared for a while at Maxwell's Slakoth, who apparently loves babies, even when it just seems like the laziest Pokemon in the world. Well, there's more than meets the eye, it seems.

Maxwell said that, unlike her, he didn't catch his Pokemon, except for his Tympole, named Katan. The rest of his Pokemon had been hatched from eggs. Another egg for the collection! Vriska thought while laughing along with Maxwell.

She could still feel Hugin's glares, but she was not going to give that scoffer the pleasure of a reply! She noticed how the tadpole analysed her before emitting a vibrating sound.

Maxwell explained to her that Tympole is a Water-type Pokemon, which is supposed to evolve into Palpitoad and then Seismitoad, Vriska immediately took not of these in her trusty notepad.

She also updated her list so that it includes metting Tympole and its avolved forms, also being careful to not let Hugin see the notepad.

"I have to admit its a cute Pokemon, I don't I'd be able to attack such a cute being..." She said while looking at the tadpole Pokemon, "Oh, that's right, I should see how the eggs are doing!"

Vriska took out her Pokedex and displayed the chat option, and then select her brother's username.

As she closed her Dex after typing for quite a few time, she could notice that Hugin had been observing the whole conversation. Vriska just stared at Honchkrow with another malevolent smile, as if she was saying 'You're next'. She then bought her sight back at Maxwell.

"My brother had already sent the only egg that hasn't hatch yet," she quickly said, "He says he doesn't want an eleventh Spinarak following him everywhere and covering his stuff with Spider Web." She ended with a laugh.

Kayla

Kayla looked up at Ash and yawned. She looked at her wrist and decided to take her Xtransceiver off so it wouldn't get broken. She walked over to where she left her bag and noticed that a pokeball was missing. She also noticed that Primrose wasn't in her pokeball. "Great... they had to leave now..." She looked back to the class and figured that they wouldn't notice if one student was missing. She picked up her bag and walked away from the class as quietly as she could. When I find those two, they're going to be in so much trouble... She stopped walking for a while and looked back. "I hope I don't get caught..." She sent out Yuri and Jasmine. "Can you two help me find Rosemary and Primrose?" Yuri nodded and ran off, putting her nose to the ground. "OK, Jasmine, you're staying with me. Come on." Jasmine sighed and nodded.

Hugin was - shortly described - very displeased with this girl. He was a Honchkrow, a Pokémon of high rank! A rank which she just ignored. He couldn't stand for it! She'd get what was coming for her alright... The crow watched the conversation between Vriska and another individual who seemed to have a liking for butchering the English language without much interest. However he took note of that the individual was the female's brother, at least she seemed more intelligent than that dweeb. Hugin caught Vriska's malevolent smile, however he just stuck his beak in the air and started snickering at her.

"Oh really?" Maxwell laughed. He imagined that Vriska's brother was currently having the time of his life. "It must be reassuring for your Spinarak to know that her children are safe within the grasp of a bug-haiting person!" Maxwell said jokingly and smiled at Buggey. "However, it does seem nice to know that I get to have a glance at the egg at least..."

He looked at Vriska for a moment, regeristing the fact that she seemed to be done with her food and her Pokémon seemed to be done with theirs. He thought about asking her which class she'd be assigned with, but then he remembered the notepad. Seeing as her Pokédex didn't work, maybe he'd help her add some pages in paper?

"Oh!" He said. "I've seen all of your Pokémon, but you haven't really met all of mine!" The teen bent amd reached under the table to pick up his Swinub, which he let go of on the table. "Phew, Wilson you're getting heavier for each day!" He exclaimed. The Swinub just nodded gleefully. "This is Wilson," he began, "He is what's known as a Swinub. An Ice and Ground-type which evolves into Piloswine by leveling up, and then later into Mamoswine by simply knowing the move Ancient Power." He paused, waiting for Vriska to write it down before he went on to his other Pokémon.

Danielle Accola & Megan Sandoval
Classroom

Megan stood there, expecting an answer to the question she asked to her students. Few of them have given pretty good answers, but the students on the first row became pretty interesting to her, especially the one on the far left next to where Leah is currently standing.

"Miss, one primary example is that grass types are weak against bug type moves. However, bug type Pokemon are generally not weak against Grass type moves." The Suicuner said.

Megan smiled at her. "Yes. You are right! Offensively, Bug Types are stronger than Grass, because bugs damage the plants in real life…in biology terms." She walked over to the chair and held Avan with her hands. "Avan, my Shelmet, would be powerful to my Meganium, because she is pure grass-type. My Leavanny would get the damage as well, because she is primarily a grass-type."

"Shelmet!" The Shell Pokemon got excited being held.

On the other side, Danielle copied down the slide on the board, as well as took the information she heard from the Suicuner. Next to her, Mark, also had an answer to the question, so did Lucia on the other side.

"Ms Sandoval, another difference between the two is that grass types have an advantage over water-types, while bug-types have an advantage over psychic and dark." Lucia firmly said.

Bree made a soft growl, then responded with an "Espee."

"That's also correct." Megan replied, then chuckled at Bree.

"Grass types tend to have less resistances compared to bugs, right?" Mark answered, "At least the Pokemon back in Kanto tend to be…though I guess bugs are kinds of in the same situation themselves…though grass Pokemon aren't all that great offensively I suppose."

"Sadly, grass types have very sucky offensive strategies. They're weak against fire, flying, ice, poison, well, you name it. Grass-types are vulnerable to everything." Megan explained the answer.

Mimi, standing at the corner next to the door, sighed. "Megaaa"

"Now, class." Megan clicked on the remote to move to the next slide. The next slide showed a diagram of each difference between both types. Strategically, Grass Types had more disadvantages than Bug. "As you can see, Bug-Type are weak against Fire, Flying, and Rock, while on the left side, Grass-types have more weaknesses. They're basically…sensitive." She paused a bit to see some of the students writing this down. "Also I would like to remind you all that some of today's lecture will be on the quiz later on. I'll be going through a couple more slides." She then took a seat at the desk, putting Avan next to her on the desk.

It was a lot of information for Danielle to take in. She already has two pages of notes already. She turned to Mark and smiled. "Good answer, Mark!" She then glanced at the studious Suicuner parallel across from her. She looked like an average girl to her, but very smart. Danielle lightly smiled at her, then glanced at her paper again.

"In the meantime while everyone writes this down, I'll go ahead and call roll." Megan said, taking out her clipboard with a list of students. "Okay, I'll start with Danielle Accola?"

Danielle raised her hand up high. "Here!"

Megan smiled and moved on to the next student on the list. "Alright, next we have…Lucia Bernavard?"

Drew Stone - Outside Classroom

As Drew made it to class with Syd on his right shoulder, the professor was already speaking to the small class. Most of them were boys like him. He sorta felt comfortable around them.

"Pet-Pet?" Syd nudged him in the cheek.

"Shhh," Drew nudged back. "Don't talk, ok. I don't want to get in trouble because of you."

"The first battles will be…" The professor said, looking at his clipboard. "Drew Stone Vs. Tristen, and Ryan Vs. Carly."

Say what. Drew is up for battling first? He assumed this was a test, a test to get to know your classmate, and how good he/she is in battle. Drew is now partnered up with a guy named Tristan. He doesn't even know what he looks like, so he scratched his head, and scoured through the small group. Tristan should appear somewhere.

Where do I go from here? What can I do? Give up? Accept defeat? No... I can't just give up! I'll die here!! If I'm going to die, I'd rather die with bravery than with defeat! I can do this! I can--

KA-BOOM!!

Quick as a lightning strike, he made a bolt straight out the door, the resulting explosion blew the previously locked door right off of its hinges, and it fell over after crashing against the opposite wall.
