As I've found out the hard way, well, it never hurts to try a different kind of in-ears just in case.

I would've bought a Windows Phone for myself, but... I don't know, their interface just don't seem that attractive to me. :(

It's definitely looking to be improved for Windows Phone 8.1 though.

I wonder whether I'll be able to move on to a better phone on my birthday.

Anything with a flash on the camera and at least a 720p display. :3

Perhaps because the icons are too flat? For some reason, I'm oddly attracted to the Metro theme, but I wouldn't want to use it on any of my devices XD

Flash for a phone's camera does seem like a necessary accessory, especially for photography in a dark setting. xD

To be honest, the flatness of the Metro theme doesn't bother me at all with Windows Phone. If there was something that did bother me WP, it'd be the fact that it's severely underrated in terms of app development.

I tend to use LED flashes as a torch. They're not much good for actually taking photos under most circumstances.

I want a flash on my camera! You know, to use as a flashlight! What else would you use a flash on the camera for anyway?

Sometimes I can't actually believe how bright those camera LEDs are, and I've been in a dark room with a bunch of people pulling their phones out to use the LEDs as flashlights as well.

Not all camera flashes are the same. LED-based flashes can actually hold, so it's good for continuous illumination. Useful for video and lighting things up in a pinch. Xenon-based flashes actually flash and will freeze pretty much everything without exception, but they can't be lit continuously. Dual LED flashes are quite a bit more powerful than single LED flashes, seeing as there are two of them, and some are actually powerful enough to freeze subjects if pulsed.

When it comes to flash strength, it'd be easy to say that it goes like this:
Xenon-based > dual-LED > single-LED

I've always thought of actual flashlights as less bright and evenly spread than the LED flashes found in modern smartphones.

Yeah, that's probably it. xD" I'm not too sure about this, but I've heard that they're also limited in terms of customization, which makes me want to turn away from them a little more.

Well, you're gonna love 8.1 and see-through tiles that show a background picture.

That's true. I love being able to customize all my devices, and that's one of the drawbacks of the iPhone as well \: Unless you jailbreak. That's why I want to switch to an Android device like the LG G3 :D

I would really love to have a windows phone. If I had to choose one phone at any price point to buy right now it would be the Lumia 1520. It really has all of the features that I'd want from a phone right now. Snappy processor, Full HD screen (although I would be fine with 720p as well), wireless QI charging, and the wonderful brilliant camera. Man that camera snaps great pictures. 1020 is more of a camera overkill where I'd rather bring a DSLR. Although I suppose a phone is a lot easier to carry around for action shots even with the bulky camera.
Personally I feel like going all in on WP :3

Yes, it's the developer preview. I like it as well since there's now actually a dropdown notification menu.

I got rid of my screen protector and case now that they're spoilt, and I hope to get a new pair of both before my phone meets another untimely end, knock on wood.

Coincidentally, I removed the screen protector off of my phone just yesterday. It was pretty much all scratched up to the point where I couldn't read the screen.

There seems to be something about screen protectors and how easily they are damaged.

Then again, they're potentially the only layer of protection between it and your phone's shiny display.

Hmm, earlier today my laptop's Bluetooth driver had an exclamation point next to it in the device manger, but it started working again after I disabled and re-enabled it. I've never had a driver act like that before.

First thing to do when a given piece of hardware not working: restart the offending device in any way.

If that fails, restart the entire PC.

If that fails again, shut it down, and then start it again.

Only when it still fails at this point should it be an indicator of an actual hardware failure
