There should be more posts here.

I love this thread.

1. Watching Mary (radio person) run around after not getting to interview you after beating Lance.
2. Wondering why they made it Pokémon Crystal instead of Pokémon Bronze. (you know, Gold, Silver, Bronze) It could have been Entei and not Suicune!
3. The Radio. It is the best change from RGBY. Period.
4. National Park's music. It was/is so easy to fall asleep to it.
5. Training on your rival every Wednesday at the Indigo Plateau.
6. The clock feature. Although the battery's lifetime is painfully short, watching day turn to night, different things happening on different days, the clock basically made GSC what they are.
7. Hunting and hunting and hunting for dragon scales to get a Kingdra.
8. Having a WTF moment when I realized Cerulean Cave wasn't there.
9. The "Team Rocket Grunt Spotted You" music.
10. Having a reason to get up early.

2 Oooooh! Shiny!
3 It's in color!
4 Epic soundtrack.
5 Longest Pokémon game to date. (not including HGSS)

1. First time using a team (and training it to level 100) rather than just using a single overpowered Blastoise

2. Other people I knew in real life actually played it--I have great memories of a bunch of us struggling as a group on New Year's Eve to get through Ice Path's mazes, which seemed really challenging at the time, and I spent hours coming up with an completing elaborate checklists of things to do in GSC with a friend of mine

3. My first completed Pokedex

4. Lots of new features without cutting out old features (clock, breeding, etc.)

5. An unprecedented 16 badges--the game made you think you were finished, then surprised you with more to do

6. Catchy music that I actually wanted to keep the volume turned up for

7. This was probably just a factor of my age and my insistence on using an unevolved Totodile for half the game before building a team, but it was the last game that I found challenging.

8. Game-ruining glitches were much harder to encounter (Missingno used to terrify me in Red)

9. It died first--while this doesn't seem like a particularly good reason, loss makes us appreciate things more than we ever realized while they were alive, and while I hated seeing Gold's battery go, it left a lasting impression on me and made me do a lot of reflecting on my childhood.

10. Introduced new material while creating a bridge to the previous generation, a novel idea at the time. And you could actually trade both ways, unlike with Pal Park in the newer games.

9 The music was more epic than Rush (70's band)

No. Lol

In no particular order...
1)The music was beast.
2)The starters were great (Totodile ftw).
3)My first lvl 100 w/o rare candies (Feraligatr aka Hydro).
4)The rival battle after Azela gym destroyed me... And still does to this day.
5)The length was very enjoyable, and the Red fight made the whole experience feel like an epic journey.
6)Kanto was great.
7)Team Rocket stepped it up a bit :)
8)Last gen before the Pokemon became a bit too... digimon-like
9)Lugia
10)Shinies

I could definately go on... Saddest day when my Silver died :[ my first lvl 100 (and 15 clones of it) is gone forever. They are for sure the best games in the series.

4) Scizor and Houndoom in one team spells awesomeness.
5) Crack-type matchups. Water/Rock? We got it! Dark/Ice? We got it! Steel/Flying? We got it!
6) The music of Red/Lance and the Crystal Legendary Beasts.
7) The Legendary Beasts themselves!
8) Playing Crystal and feeling "What if I haven't discovered all there is to this game...?"
9) Battle Tower!
10) The most interesting new generation pokemon, like, evaar!

1. The starters were amazing. Cyndaquil was absolutely adorable when I first saw it. (eventhoughIchosetotodile)
2. The music.
3. They made a VAN based off of Lugia. That's just a win for me.
4. The three wandering legendaries people claim to be dogs >_> Entei and Raikou are not dogs gosh >8C
5. The ability to visit Kanto.
6. Kris is probably the only female design I've really liked thus far.
7. Red still thinks it's cool to stand on a mountain in a blizzard.
8. Sentret and Mareep~
9. I just love Enteiiii~
10. The Towers they added were amazing for some reason.

This thread rocks :)

1. Johto is the best region for starting out with a Fire type, imo. I remember that it was always so much more fun to go through when I had Cyndaquil.

2. The music was tops.

3. Going through Kanto always feel so weird, I loved it.

4. Ruins of Alph.

5. The fear and awe of going up against Red.

6. Gen 2 was why I fell in love with Team Rocket. (slowpoke tails!)

7. Hunting down the Legendary dogs.

8. The Battle Tower in Crystal.

9. The day and night system.

10. The map was a lot more fun than Kanto.

I love G/S/C because...

1. The plot is so fun to play through over and over... it's different every time.

2. It's fun chasing my legendary beasts around and feeling rewarded when I catch them, since it's the only way you can get them outside of HG/SS if I remember correctly.

3. I like the old, nostalgic quality of the sprites. They're better than Red and Blue, and would be as good as FireRed and LeafGreen if the Gameboy Color allowed for it.

4. Bug catching contests are really fun. They made up a lot of my time on Gold, Crystal and HeartGold before I started my Shiny Articuno hunt XD

5. The Pokemon had really creative designs and names.

6. I could defeat the Elite Four with only a newly-caught Suicune, but on the other hand, I could also get a challenge with a full team trained to the same level.

7. Skarmory. :D

8. The Dragon Cave and the Dragon-type gym were awesome challenges.

9. The Odd Egg has a 50% chance of being shiny (though mine never sparkled...)

10. The cartridges are sparkly, and it's fun to turn it on and watch the "retro" animation.

Oohooh. This looks fun.

1. Quilava and Ampharos are my top 2 favorite Pokemon.
2. Surprise! Kanto!
3. Lance/Red Theme <3
4. Olivine, Ecruteak, and Azalea, oh my!
5. Teaming up with Lance to take down Team Rocket
6. Shinies. Although I didn't get one other than that Red Gyarados. =[
7. Crystal Pokemon sprite animations were so much better than 3rd and 4th gen.
8. The towers + 3 beasts. Even the Sprout Tower. =3
9. Day/Night~
10. OHCRAPITSTHEDUDEFROMRED&BLUE!

1. I got it on release day, at a hard time in my life, and I always remember my Dad handing it to me :D
2. Lucky Channel, best radio station ever, I listened to that music on loop for hours.
3. Fighting 'yourself' from the previous gen was an awesome idea ( I know it wasn't you, but I always thought of it that way, in order to finish the game I had to beat myself from the previous game)
4. New Gyms, and old Gyms, I actually thought that was going to be a trend in all future games :(
5. The storyline was brilliant. And amazingly simplistic at the same time.
6. I spent well over 3 hours trying to get through to Blackthorn through that damn Ice Puzzle
7. It's one of the few games to ever make me scared to go somewhere in it, Tin Tower creeped me out.
8. Making sure every real day, to go on the game and get Apricorns.
9. Day & Night system, the original.
10. The 'side-quests' like the Bug catching contest, and catching the biggest Magikarp, small things like that.
