HISTORY



The Kingdom of Fiore is a land filled with magic. It is used by a large portion of the population and has become part of daily life. It's used for everything from changing the color of your clothes to destroying buildings, and absolutely anything else you can think of. Magic sits unused dispersed throughout the world, and people with the power to draw it into their body and use that magic are called wizards. Those born without a magic reservoir inside them instead use devices called lacrima to store magic and power magical devices. One hundred years ago a dispute about the legality and morality of certain types of summoning magic resulted in a series of laws banning the use of specific spells and styles of magic. Wizards practicing the magic were arrested, tried, and executed, all records of their magic purged from all libraries. To this day, few know what types of magic were banned, but rumors circulate about gods, demons, and many other kinds of dark magic.

Roleplayers will be signing up as characters who wield either a type of summoning magic listed below, or a character who can utilize both summoning magic and another type of magic. The characters will be joining the Phantom Melody guild, which is located in the city of Aria. Guilds are groups of wizards that gather together in a central place to take on jobs that the citizens of Fiore request when they are in need of a wizard's assistance. Most guilds have jobs ranked by skill level with a letter rating, continuing up until S-rank missions, which only S-rank wizards may embark on. Guilds are an extremely important part of a wizard's life, and guildmates are oftentimes very close, sometimes even seeming like one big extended family. Guilds are extremely competitive and members are almost always very proud to be a part of their guild. Guild-members showcase what guild they are a part of with a guild mark, which is a magical stamp on their skin that showcases the guild's logo.

While the most common guilds are legal guilds, there are two other types. Firstly, a legal guild is a guild that is approved by the Magic Council, which is similar to a parliament and carries out all major decisions in the kingdom. Legal guilds are bound by the rules of the Council, and risk being disbanded or even arrested if they do not follow the rules. The second type of guild is a dark guild. These guilds are illegal, and are usually criminal organizations. They typically carry out illegal jobs that most self-respecting guilds would find unsavory, such as assassinations, thefts, or kidnappings. A third and often forgotten type of guild are independent guilds. These guilds, while technically illegal, and not approved by the council, do not pose any ill intent. Typically these guilds are made to combat the law that prevents legal guilds from attacking dark guilds.

MAGIC



If you sign up with a character who practices summoning magic only, you may choose to start with two keys or objects. If your character practices summoning magic and another type of magic, you may choose only one. If signing up with a type of caster magic, please keep in mind that any form of slayer magic, be it dragon slayer or otherwise, will not be accepted.

Celestial Spirit Magic:
Summons a Zodiac spirit from another world by opening a gate with their key. Must create a contract detailing when the spirit is allowed to be summoned and other clauses depending on the spirit. If the wizard breaks this contract the spirit's key will vanish. Celestial Spirit Keys are tiered based on the power of the spirit, with minor spirits being linked to silver keys and major spirits to gold.

Summons an angel. This magic is cast with a Celestial Talisman unique to each angel. Angels are notoriously picky about who they make contracts with. Only those pure enough may even be allowed possession of their Celestial Talisman.

Sign-ups will be open for two weeks, and at the end of that, we will choose the best 4-5 people to accept. That means there will be 6-7 people in the roleplay when it starts. Asking us for feedback on WIP sign-ups is encouraged.

Okay, I know nothing about Fairy Tail, but you know I can't pass up a good magic game. I'm gonna start an SU soon. But first, a couple questions:

I've done some research, and it looks like the Eastern zodiac will all be original characters, while the Western are all pre-existing. Can we make new Western zodiac spirits, or just stick to the canon ones?

Also, it seems to be pretty much anything goes when it comes to magic. Any limitations on our spells, or can I just pick a theme and run with it?

Anything goes for spells, and All cannon spirits will not be used, so have at making whatever you want ;)

Tall and slender, with long and lean limbs, Senju stands at a wiry 5' 10" while weighing only 149 lbs. His sapphire blue eyes stand out against his soft white skin, in contrast to the dark chocolate of his short, messy hair. His good looks and almost hourglass shaped figure have gained him some female attention, but he just thinks he looks wispy and effeminate.

His clothes are usually black, to match the sleeveless black hoodie his father got for him. He actually has several hoodies, but they are all identical, matching the one he received almost 15 years ago. He dresses simply: black boots, black pants, his hoodie, and a shirt that's usually dark blue, but he occasionally wears dark red or gray instead. His headband keeps his hair out of his eyes, and he once wore a bowler hat to look distinguished, but a girl told him she liked the hat, so he never stopped wearing it. He wears his celestial key on a silver chain necklace.

Personality: Senju has been described as quiet, introverted, and cautious. "I think we should be careful about this," is practically his catch phrase. He's not shy, exactly, he just doesn't like people very much. He prefers peace and quiet, to read his books and practice his magic, but unfortunately, peace and quiet don't pay the bills. He can put on a happy face, but the observant can tell he'd rather be somewhere else. He's proud of his skills and knowledge, and appreciates the chance to demonstrate them. He's not one to brag, but he can be smug.

Since he's usually either feigning cheerfulness or maintaining a mask of neutral disinterest, it can be hard to know the real Senju. At his core, he's a decent fellow who likes things done neatly and on time, and isn't afraid to step in and help to ensure that they do. He doesn't like to mix business and pleasure, and though he finds most people too loud, too unpredictable, or too unfocused, he'll be a loyal friend who'll stick by your side when you need him, if not always when you want him.

He's not much of a fighter, but will step up when he's asked to. His magic is versatile and he's smart enough to apply it as needed, but he usually comes out swinging, striking hard and fast. However, when faced with an opponent he can't just smash, he relishes the chance to play dirty and think outside the box. Deep down he enjoys getting in fights, which scares him a little, so he tries to end them quickly.

Type of magic: Force Magic, the art of manipulating kinetic energy. Force effects are variable in strength, with stronger effects requiring more magical power. Force Mages can use kinetic energy to push, pull, or levitate objects with Telekinesis, surround themselves with a protective Force Field, or release an offensive Shockwave. While Senju can use these spells, he finds them crude and a little dull, instead preferring to create Kinetic Constructs. His specialty is hand-shaped constructs, with all the dexterity of a real hand, from the size of his actual hands to the size of his entire body. He can create and control a dozen different hands at once, earning him the nickname "Senju of the Hundred Hands".

Spirit:

-Name: Feng Long, Dragon of the North Wind
-Gender: Male

-Appearance: With his thin body and height of only 4 feet tall, Feng Long appears to be a frail old man. Despite his apparent age, he can hold his head high and keep his back straight, requiring no cane or assistance to move around. From his forehead to the base of his skull, his head is devoid of hair save for twin tufts of wispy white above each ear. He has a thin white Fu Manchu, his foot long whiskers dangling like the barbels of a catfish, with a shorter tuft sprouting from his chin.

Despite his thin frame, his head is more round than angular, and he is usually seen with a warm smile. His skin is a soft yellow, and the only sign of wrinkles are at the corners of his jade green eyes. Curiously, he only has four fingers on each hand (apparently lacking pinkies), each tipped with a sharp, pointed fingernail. He doesn't like to discuss it, and usually keeps his hands casually folded behind his back.

Feng Long seems to enjoy sky blue, as his pants, leather shoes, and scale-patterned vest are of that color. His vest is sleeveless, and worn closed to cover his torso, with a small cape attached to each shoulder, hanging on his back like a pair of vestigial wings. His pants are secured with a white obi belt, with part of it hanging loose in the back like a tattered silk tail.

-Personality: Feng Long looks like a kindly old grandfather, with a personality to match. He loves to tell stories from his youth, drink fine tea, and feel the wind on his face. However, beneath his wise and friendly exterior lies a greedy soul who will put his own wants and desires ahead of others'. He can be self-centered and underhanded, doing just about anything to make a quick buck, although he usually won't allow others to come to harm just to satisfy his whims.

He is a hoarder, collecting books, baubles, precious stones... anything that looks shiny or valuable, he wants it. He's more than willing to trade, however, and enjoys games almost as much as he enjoys trinkets. Even if he gets no monetary gain, a stimulating conversation, round of riddles, or challenging puzzle are all worthwhile investments of his time. While he is reluctant to part with his gold, gems, or art, he happily barters with secrets and knowledge gained from his old books. Many mages have made a contract with him, both short-term and long, exchanging their money or a game of chess for an old spell or bit of history.

Despite his vast knowledge and power, Feng Long hates fighting. He'd much rather leave the dirty work to others, so he'll hang back and play support when summoned, and try to end a fight as quickly as possible when forced to engage.

-Magic: As the "Dragon of the North Wind", Feng Long is a master of Air Magic. Although he knows some combat spells, he prefers other spells that provide defensive or utilitarian options. He can make himself lighter than the air around him, letting him levitate at will, using his cape wings to steer himself.

-Wind Wall: Feng Long summons a mighty up draft, deflecting ranged weapons upward and sending anyone who gets too close flying. Heavier weapons (such as boulders or catapult rocks) are less affected, and some magic can ignore the wind entirely.

-Scatter to the Winds: Feng Long exhales a gout of green fire, reducing an object he holds to ash. The item reforms, fully intact, in his lair, from where he can summon it at any time by releasing another gout of flame.

-Breath of Life: Using his own ki energy as a fuel source, Feng Long exhales life energy to heal injuries or illnesses. Using this spell visibly ages him, weakening him until he has a chance to recover. Breath of Life cannot regenerate lost limbs or raise the dead.

-Icy Cold Wind of the North: Feng Long exhales a cloud of sub-zero temperature air. This can be focused to damage foes, or dispersed over a wide area to create fog to limit visibility.

Name: Alan Tempest

Appearance: Alan is a pretty normal-looking attractive teenager. From a first impression, he seems totally sane. He has wavy light brown hair that he shampoos to give a nice luster. He does not actively style his hair, but it falls naturally into place from occasional adjustments. Oftentimes, sprigs of hair will stick off at weird angles from being slept on. His face is generally warm, and he has hazel eyes with thick eyebrows. He is five feet and nine inches tall. Alan has a pretty unremarkable body, not particularly muscular but not too out of shape.

He wears a silver necklace with a jewel on the end of it that hangs beneath his neck. It was a gift from his father, and he clutches it occasionally as a comfort. Alan does not really have a constant clothing style and tends to just wear plain clothes, although he will really wear whatever he has handy. He has the Phantom Melody guild mark tattooed on the back of his left hand since he is left-handed.

Personality: Alan is a pretty reserved person and likes to be organized and have everything in control, but there is a pretty large blocker in the way of that. Alan is schizophrenic and has a very vibrant world inside of his head. He has many characters in his mind that took form over a number of years for various reasons. In most conversations, he seems relatively normal although some of his actions can be weird and confusing. Alan rarely ever speaks his mind and tells anybody how he really feels about anything; he has to use his projections to express himself, specifically Ember and Frost. Without Ember and Frost, Alan would be mostly incapable of making decisions. Alan also gets frustrated easily at the inability to express himself fluidly, so it causes him to shy away from social connections outside of his projections.

With treatment, Alan would be probably okay, but his father paid a famous wizard to teach him magic as an outlet to deal with his illness. The lessons were incredibly effective, but his magic manifested as projections, which ultimately made it harder to recover. The line between reality and fiction is especially blurred for Alan. He also has a lot of irrational fears, such as his back being open, darkness, and bodies of water, that rear their heads randomly and without warning. Under pressure, Alan does not have any idea what to do. He easily gets confused and lost in a situation, relying on his projections to process information for him. As a result, he is mostly reactionary, working reflexively and only rarely able to take agency.

Despite all of this, Alan is remarkably kind. He may not be able to totally understand other people, or know what they mean, but he believes that people are fundamentally good, an idea formed before he was diagnosed. Occasionally he will put himself out of his comfort zone and pull himself out of his shell in a valiant effort to regain what he used to have before his mind started to dominate his life. He does not know that he is sick, but he knows that people have started to recede to his life at a similar time to when his friends started appearing, and he is not stupid so he made the correlation.

Alan's father was the one to take on the care of him when he was diagnosed and was the one to try and get him help, paying for his magic lessons. As misguided as his attempts may have been, he still cares deeply for Alan, and as a result, Alan has a much deeper connection with him than his mother, who phased him mostly out of her life. Ever since he started acting weirdly she felt that he was unfit and was even deep down a little scared of him. She never fully ignored or emotionally abandoned him, but the coldness she exhibited toward him affected him greatly, and he did not know why she was acting so strangely. The best, and only prevalent, memory Alan has with his mother is that of watching old Film Noir detective movies with him. She would always impersonate the detective and it made him laugh a lot.

Magic:

-Projections: A famous, very powerful wizard was hired by Alan's father to teach Alan his magic. He has the ability to take control of materials and make golems out of them. However, for Alan it is unique, because he is only able to utilize his abilities if he sees a character he has in his mind fully represented in the real world. The way that he does this is by sculpting or creating his character from a multitude of different mediums, such as clay, wood, or paper. If the character is not fully represented he cannot use it because he is not aware that he is using magic, it appears the same to him as if it was real all along, just now it has a physical form. He can make a small version of something and then expand it to its full size.

-Projection Base Control: This is the only magic other than celestial magic that Alan thinks he has. He has the ability to control the materials to perform attacks and defend himself while the projections do the offensive fighting.

-Uriel's Sword (Luster): The Celestial Talisman that Alan uses to summon Uriel is his golden sword, identical to the one that Uriel has. It has a golden blade with a silver hilt and guard. The only difference is that the sword that Alan owns has magic dispelling properties. It can cut through weak to some medium powered magic, an enchantment cast by Uriel to protect whoever owns his Talisman at the time.

In Alan's mind, Uriel's Sword has a personality. His name is Luster and he guides Alan. He is a counterpart to Ember and Frost and is the voice of wisdom and knowledge in Alan's mind. Although he is inanimate, whenever Alan thinks he is speaking, he glows faintly in his mind. Luster has a deep, booming voice and is an old wise soul that is incredibly knowledgable, able to call on memories and information lost in the depths of his brain.

-Bottomless Bag: A gift from Alan's teacher, he has a bottomless bag with a mouth two inches wide. Anything that he can fit inside of the mouth will be accepted into a pocket dimension, which he can then summon the objects from. He uses it as a store for all of the supplies that he needs to do his projections and their derivative abilities.

-Swift Gloves: Alan purchased these gloves from a magic shop with the money from his first job and half of the money that his father gave him. They are navy blue glovelettes, lacking the front two parts of all fingers and a circle of no fabric in the back for better ventilation. They allow him a good grip on materials without overheating his hands. The Swift Gloves allow Alan to move his hands twice as quickly with twice the dexterity.



Name: Uriel
Gender: Male

Appearance: Uriel is a six foot one Angel. He has tousled blond hair that moves with the wind. He was a strong face, with a strong jawline and good cheekbones. His skin is completely perfect and his mouth is frozen in a slight frown, as if he is always angry at something. His irises are pure gold, framed by defined brown eyebrows and intense creases under his eyes. He always wears a black trench coat and long black pants, accompanied with black dress sneakers for mobility. When he walks, he is very subdued and rests his hands in the front pockets of his trench coat.

When Uriel begins to fly or readies for battle, his wings extend in a vibrant show, ripping off his trench coat. Beneath the long garment, a golden sword is revealed, identical to the one that Alan has. It has a golden blade with a silver hilt and guard. Uriel's wings are gorgeous white and extend out of his shoulder blades to form an impressive wingspan. Uriel's body is chiseled to perfection and at the peak of physical ability, always ready to fight.

Personality: Uriel is very level headed and collected, although the constant scowl on his face matches his personality. He is very hard to win over, the angel is very grim and serious, not sugar coating anything and processing life in a very matter of fact way. He believes that he is almost always right. He rarely feels actual anger and in fact is not very emotional, but he often is filled with pity at how weak somebody is, or pity that they cannot understand him. He is very pessimistic, casual, and understated, unless he needs to make a show of being powerful.

That being said, he has a soft spot for Alan. He chose him because, although his mind may be a little foggy, and his actions might be strange, he is very pure of heart. Uriel felt that he was the most suited to bear the honor of his sword. He looks down on most people and even most other celestial spirits. When battling people, he taunts them and says what he truly thinks of them before engaging in battle and he has no tolerance for fools, cowards, or He secretly believes that angels are better than zodiac spirits, and has a grudge against Michael the angel.

Magic: Uriel practices light magic, hence his title as the Angel of Light. He can use many general offensive light attacks; utilizing semisolid and explosive forms of light, but has a few signature abilities.

-Light Armor: Uriel can create a temporary layer of solid light armor around himself and his Celestial Wizard. This armor is two inches thick and weightless, it looks like a lightly glowing, yellow translucent coat of armor. It is not infallible and can be pierced, and if he runs out of magic energy it ceases to exist.

-Godly Luminescence Boost: Uriel has an ability that generally allows him to use light to power up the magic of his wizard. It manifests differently, depending upon who he has a contract with. For Alan specific, Uriel focuses on one of Alan's projections with his hand outstretched and causes shining golden runes to form on its body, specific to each projection. They increase the projection's strength and constitution, making them generally better.

-Colossal Angel Avatar: Uriel creates a gigantic semisolid light avatar of himself around him that acts as a giant attacking angel. Magic passes directly through this shell and it is impossible to use in non-open areas due to the lack of mobility.

-The Light of Heaven: Uriel extends his body to the fullest and flies high into the sky. He glows with a terrible pure light that strikes deep fear into the hearts of all of his enemies and his wings become pure white light. A wave of energy ripples out from him, causing general, nonspecific destruction. This attack takes immense amounts of power and ruptures all of his other magical spells.

Personality: Clay is a reserved individual who rarely ever shows what he is thinking. He has a habit of witholding information until he can no longer contain himself, whether it be his feelings about someone or something, or information important to a quest. He tends to think that he's worthless to a team unless he's the one to do all the work, and actively strives to out-do everyone else for that very reason. He rarely ever talks to anyone without first observing them for an extended period of time. When he does, however, attempt conversation, he speaks in a calm tone and always attempts to retain a sense of formality in the conversation. He cares little about the opinions of others, save for those he holds in high regard or has a romantic attraction to, and if he knows one of those people is watching he will do everything he can to impress them. However, Clay is very hard to please himself, always striving for perfection, and rarely ever gives out compliments.

Type of magic: Prism Paint- Clay has an oversized paintbrush, which is more like a bow-staff with bristles on top, which he can use to manipulate magic colored paints which each have a different effect.

White paint can be painted on thin air, and forms thick strands of webbing.

Red paint is extremely unstable and will detonate if struck with enough force.

Green paint is extremely sticky but can be washed off with water.

Purple paint is elastic and can be used to make trampolines, rubberbands, and an assortment of other stretchy objects.

Blue paint is slippery like ice.

Yellow paint glows in the dark.

Orange paint burns on contact with skin, and also may burst into flames when exposed to heat or intense light.

Black paint creates a small portal to a pocket dimention.

-Name: Gemini

-Gender: M/F

-Appearance: Gemini are two small, twin, children, one male and one female. They each have short black hair, cut in the same style, with it sticking up all over their heads. They each wear overalls with white shirts, and sandles, which they will swap out for parkas and snow boots during wintertime. They each stand at about 4' tall, and usually will be sitting on eachother's shoulders, alternating who's on the bottom each time.

-Magic: Mimic Magic- While touching, they can melt into each other and transform into a nearby person. This allows them to copy their thoughts, memories, and magic as well. They can remember the last three people they transformed into, and can transform between them as long as they remember. They may not, however, transform into anyone with stronger magic than the wizard who summoned them.

-Personality: The two of them bicker constantly, and while mimicing someone else this causes the illusion of them talking to theirself. Gem, the girl, is always serious and works to get their task done, at the expense of having fun, while Ini, the boy, loves to have fun at the expense of completing their task. Together, they ballance each other's personalities well, although it may take an argument or two before they agree on a compromise.​

Alright, I finally have time to look this over fully. I think you're a little underpowered to be honest. Neither your character or spirit have offensive magic really. In addition to that I'd like "rat" to have a name, I don't believe I mentioned it in the OP though. Btw, we do have a discord chat which I'll invite you to also. Alright, I finally have time to look this over fully. I think you're a little underpowered to be honest. Neither your character or spirit have offensive magic really. In addition to that I'd like "rat" to have a name, I don't believe I mentioned it in the OP though. Btw, we do have a discord chat which I'll invite you to also. I think whatever Mei lacks in offensive magic can be made up for with creativity haha (changing composition of air to less oxygen, rewriting her history so that she was trained by professional fighters, atrophying the muscles of her opponents, turning nearby materials into weapons, etc) Though I wouldn't mind removing some of the Recomposition limits :p

Also gave Rat LaoHei a name! :)
