The Hunger Emporium

The Hunger Emporium as it is called, is a world much like your own. A number of things within the confines of its reality may seem familiar, but none should be taken at face value. Within the emporium exist a great number of people, creatures, and otherworldly beings; all of which exist for any number of reasons but live only for one. Sating their hunger is their one desire, and the only means by which they can continue to exist.

Deep within its darkest of recesses exist a multitude of slumbering deities, tossed aside and forgotten by those who would have at once given them worship. Their anger and hatred muted, if only for a moment in time. No matter how much light may obscure them from your eyes now, they will not be left alone for long. Darkness always has a way of seeping through, wriggling and writhing like a worm in the dirt as it reaches for the surface. Soon… soon they shall devour all in their path. All shall be revealed, when the Dreamer witnesses her first light.

The Innocent Polubogs
Within the realm of the Dark Dreamer, there exist a great number of immortals who were cursed to live their rebirths within normalcy. These Polubogs have any number of jobs and abilities, but are wholly powerless on their own. Their true strength relies on their numbers, and those who were chosen to rule over them. These beings are the innocent majority of this game.

The Candlemaker
The Candlemaker has the ability to give out a candle each night to a person of his or her choosing. Candles have two abilities. The first ability of candles is to allow the holder to learn who visited them every night after receiving the item. The second ability takes effect only after the role of The Hunger is killed. This secondary ability allows the holder to cheat death once by forcing back The Dark Dreamer. Players may only receive candles once per game. The Candlemaker gains a candle at the beginning of the game, and a second candle once every other living character has received a candle.

The Secretariat
The Secretariat receives a tally of the votes for the day during the night phase, learning how many of the votes for each lynch candidate were from what faction. The Secretariat bears the responsibility of keeping this information secret, to the best of their abilities. Should they choose to reveal the information they've gained, they will be removed from office and stripped of all of their powers and belongings and become unable to be aided by any of their allies.

The Tinkerer
The Tinkerer is an elderly man who spends his retirement working on old time-y weaponry. The Tinkerer's main obsession is a nuclear device that he obtained long ago during his time with the military. The Tinkerer begins the game with a bulletproof vest, a gun, and a pair of goggles (allows the wearer to see the name of the player but not the role of who visits them once) which can be kept or handed out. If the Tinkerer survives until Night X (based on number of players), they will accidentally activate the nuke and randomly kill half of the remaining players with themselves included - this is counted as a win in their favor.

The Spiritualist
The Spiritualist has the ability to act as a medium for the souls of the living. Every night following a deathless day, they can detain one player by calling their souls into his or her own body. During this time, that player cannot act and The Spiritualist can choose to purge the soul from existence or to let them leave freely. However, if the spiritualist chooses to purge an innocent, the spiritualists' psychic license will be revoked and she'll no longer be allowed to use her powers. If The Spiritualist dies while communing with the soul of another, both souls will perish.

The Medium
The Medium is allowed to speak to the dead.

The Faithful
The Faithful is unable to be recruited or possessed, and will pray to their Almighty for their tempter to be smote.

The Priest
The Priest is a doctor of sorts, offering divine protection each night to a player of his choice. The Priest will be protected by their god once automatically, but will be vulnerable following the act. The Priest bears the secondary ability of being able to cleanse the soul of one player during the game who has been granted power by the Magic Man. The player will retain their newfound power, but will be freed from the clutches of the Magic Man, lest the magician choose to act again.

The Detective
The Detective gathers all available research on a player each night phase. While humans are well documented, the likes of The Sudbina and the members of The Dark are anomalies which only allow the detective to speculate at their nature. (The Detective will learn Town Roles, but will only know the alignment of other factions.)

The President
The President holds the power to force a lynch on someone once per game. This person can be chosen either during the day or night phase. The President starts the game with a bulletproof vest, but cannot receive any other items.

The Town
The Town are vanilla innocents.

The Dark
The Dark Dreamer and her followers. These beings feast on the innocent and unwary to survive, grow, and become stronger. Some of these beings are as old as time itself, while others have only just recently rose to power. These beings act as the mafia faction in this game and will have a chat to themselves.

The Dark Dreamer - The Dark Dreamer begins the game with no abilities, except for immortality until all of the other members of The Dark have died. The Dark Dreamer cannot be recruited, and is the only being powerful enough to resist the calling of the Sudbina. Each time a member of The Dark dies, The Dark Dreamer gains their powers. (in the case of the magic man, the dark dreamer will take all accumulated abilities but not the power to give abilities)

The Magic Man - The Magic Man is arguably, one of the most powerful members of The Dark. The Magic Man's ability is to give out powers (seen here, barring a few)to the innocent and unknowing Polubogs, only to possess their body and retake them two days later. (ex. n0 he makes someone a cop, at the end of d2 he kills that person and gains the cop ability) The Magic Man can be in the process of possessing only one person at a time.

The Hunger - Manipulates others to carry out the dark's nightly murders by having them feast on others. When The Hunger dies, the Dark Dreamer herself with carry out the killing of innocents.

Fate

This faction is made up of the Sudbina - a being which is recognized as Fate itself - and Fate's Angels which enact the Sudbina's will when it cannot.

The Sudbina - At the beginning of the game, the sudbina states the time and date of death for three different players. Player 1 can die during night phase 1, dawn of phase 2, day 2, dusk of day 2, or dawn of day 3. Player 2 will die during night phase 3, dawn of phase 4, day phase 4, dusk of day 4 or dawn of day 5. Player 3 will always die at the end of the 6th day. The chosen players cannot die by any other means, nor can they be saved from death by any means. Chosen players will not know they were chosen, nor will they receive any information that they're going to die.

The Dark Angels (x 2) - These units work in conjunction with the Sudbina. They kill a player during the day and gift them with rebirth, changing the powers and alignments. The dark angels can only act once per game. The angels will have a chat with the sudbina. Their day kill will not work on themselves, the sudbina, Meleanolu, or the Dark Dreamer.

???

These characters are unknowns. They align with no particular party, but each have their own individual win condition.

The Visitor
The Visitor is a harvester of the bodies and souls of families undergoing hardships. Every other night, starting with Night 0, the visitor will recruit another soul into his ranks and turn them into a vanilla puppet, rendering them free from and unable to use their powers. The visitor cannot die until all of his puppets are killed.

Meleanolu Askranaba
Meleanolu Askranaba is a child of 7 or 8, and one of the only people who still holds memories from before they were reborn into this world. This person holds a strong grudge against the Sudbina for forcing him to leave the world of the unbirthed and be born into this one. This character has a knife which they use to kill someone of their choosing every day until they find the Sudbina. This person loses if they fail to personally kill the Sudbina, but wins if they do.

The Rules

Votes must be formatted as [Lynch] Player. Failure to do so may result in your vote not being counted.
Missing two votes in a row will result in your removal from the game and your replacement.
Do not share your PMs! Furthermore, all game related conversation should be kept to this thread or to specified Discord chats.
If you are dead, you are dead. You get one death post that may not contain any in-game information. After that you're barred from haunting the thread.
Do not post in the thread during the night phase.
In the event of a tie for lynch votes, a coin toss will determine who dies.
The win conditions of each faction are to be the last group standing unless otherwise noted.

Thanks for the interest so far everyone! I'd like to have around 20 players before I start the game (22+ would be ideal, allowing for a few vanilla townies to be in the mix). That being said, I'll be sending out roles and starting Dusk 0 on the 15th, regardless of our player count.
