Kip was definitely the MVP of this entire nuzlocke, being overleveled compared to the rest of the team, and taking down most of the crucial pokemon in the game, including Steven's Metagross.

Mushtop would definitely be the MVP of the run if Mushtop had died. He was there in the beginning, and was always there to take down anything physically weak. I was worried at first that Mushtop was going to be a glass cannon and die to a crit sometime, but I was glad to see that his defenses were pretty good.

I was debating on letting Bandit come into the Elite Four with me, because he had been so awful later on in the run, but I did end up letting him in, since he was one of the three pokemon that I used in the beginning completing the Trio of Kip, Mushtop, and Bandit. He was effective early on, but as stated before made less of a contribution, as the run went on. I would have used him more if he had more move diversity, but there wasn't much to come out of him in the physical move department.

I had only planned to use Pikablu as a Hm Slave, but she kept on leveling up as I progressed through the game with her in my party. Her Play Rough had gotten so strong, I had to put her in my Elite Four team, and she made a great contribution.

Risk was one of my other lucky finds in route 120, and he was put into my party once leffen died. He ended up being great in the elite four, and I don't regret his addition to the team.

At the begining of the game, I named myself Pplayer (Because of my username). After all of the begining stuff I decided to pick Treecko as my starter. I saved Professor Birch from the pokemon that was attacking him, and he let me keep the treecko. I decided to nickname him Tom. After that, I went out to go battle May. I beat her (barely) and went back to the lab to get my Pokedex. I then caught my first pokemon which was a wurmple, which i named Joey.
I continued going north up to route 103 where i caught a Poochyena. I nicknamed her Jules. I then went over to route 102 where i caught a Zigzagoon named Linda (Im just giving them human names lol). After that i trained up Tom and Jules up to level 8. I went through the trainers on that route, and made it to Petalburg City. I entered the gym, then Wally walked in and i had to help him get a pokemon. After all that i just kept going on. On route 104 I caught a marill that i named Maria. I trained up my team all to level 10 (Only the ones i used to fight). I defeated the trainers on that route, entered Petalburg Woods, and caught a Silcoon. I named it Sarah. I went through the woods where i had to fight a Team Aqua grunt. His Poochyena kept Sand Attacking my Poochyena so i could barely hit him with any attacks. Then he kept using Howl to raise his attack. Then he OHKO'd my Poochyena. Rip in peace. I was pretty salty. Anyways I sent out Maria fo finish the job. I got through the forest and made it to Rustboro City. Surprisingly, I Defeated the gym with ease. Maria's water gun swept through the trainers easily, and Tom's absorb took out Roxannes Pokemon with ease. After the gym, the guy i saved in the woods needed another favor. He said i needed to get his goods back. I went to route 116 abd caught a Whismur which I named Ear Hole. (Its Pokedex entry says it breathes through its ear holes. Whut?) I trained everyone to level 15, then beat the trainers on the route, and finally I went into the tunnel. I defeated the Aqua grunt with no casualties this time, and Tom evolved into Grovyle. I returned the goods to the Devon worker, and he wanted me to speak with the president of the Devon Company. The prsident toldd me that i needed to deliver a letter to Steven in Dewford Town, and the Goods to Slateport City. Whatever. I headed back towards Petalburg Woods and on the way I saw May. We battled, and I won once again. Finally, I headed down back to Mr. Briney's house and asked him to take me to Dewford Town. He agreed. This is where I saved the game.

I went directly to Granite Cave after reaching Dewford Town. I caught a Makuhita which I namrd Punchy brcause I honestly couldnt think of anything else. After that I trained all of my Pokemon to level 20 to take on Brawly's gym. Maria evolved into azumarill and Ear Hole evolved into loudred in the process. After that, I caught a magikarp and named it Old (cause i caught it with the old rod). Then I defeated Brawly and got my second gym badge. I then made my way through Granite Cave and delivered the letter to Steven. He gave me the TM for Steel Wing
Wing (which i couldnt even use). I exited the cave and told Mr. Briney to take me to Slateport. I defeated all the trainers on the beach and went into Slateport to deliver the goods. Dock told me to go deliver the goods to the scientist guy. I forgot what his name was but whatever. I went to the museum, defeated the Aqua grunts, and delivered the goods to the scientist guy. I saved the game.

I continued north. On Route 110 I caught and Electrike which I named Rick. I got to Mauville City and defeated Wally in front of the gym. Then I went west towards Route 117 and caught a Oddish which i named Oddi. I beat all the trainers on that route, trained a little bit more, and beat Wattson's gym for my 3rd gym badge. I went north to route 111 but didnt get any encounters on that route.I contiued to Route 114 and caught a Numel named Magma. I went into Fiery Path and caught a Slugma named Homeless (because slugs are just snails without shells). I decided to save the game there.

As you can see, a fair bit done since the last update. I trained my pokemon to level 13 each and took on Falkner, beating him relatively comfortably. Next, I fetched an egg from Professor Elm's assistant in Violet City. I then went on to Route 32 and caught Janice the Ekans, who sadly does not have a place in my party. After beating all the trainers, I made it to Union Cave, where I caught Rocky the Geodude, who is a solid member to the team right now. After coming out of Union Cave, I made my way to Azalea to heal before going to the Slowpoke Well. When I reached here, I caught Oscar the Zubat, who after a tough grinding session, is a solid team member. After defeating Team Rocket, the egg I had hatched and I gained Ralph the Togepi. I went on to beat Falkner and after having a little trouble with Scyther, I eventually beat him without loss. Before heading to Ilex Forest, I went to heal and then had to beat Boris, my arch rival. His Gastly was no match for Oscar's Bite and Zubat was no match for Rocky's Rock Throw. Croconaw was a bit trickier though, I eventually took him down with Dora, who evolved into a Pidgeotto after that battle. Ilex forest was a bitter sweet time, we caught Velma the Oddish, but lost our first team member, Ralph. After using his first ever Headbutt, Ralph the Togepi thought he could take on a Pineco, but after he Selfdestructed himself, Ralph followed suit. We then reached Goldenrod after I tried to hold back the tears about Ralph's passing.

I knew Chuck was going to be a pain. With a Rock Slide-using Primape and a Poliwrath, I was prepared for a tough battle. Then I remembered that Tristan still had Reflect...

The battle wasn't easy - without Tristan, I could easily have lost someone during it. My strategy was to throw up Reflect when needed, and bombard Primeape with Magical Leaf. Of course, things didn't go exactly as planned, what with Focus Punch hitting when I set up Reflect, and I had to use both Synthesis and a Soda Pop to prevent Tristan falling. Still, determined to keep Reflect up, I took a risk and left Tristan to face Poliwrath after Primeape went down.

Poliwrath was tough, but I managed to poison him and keep Reflect going to avoid Focus Punch. Finally, though, the annoying Water-type went down, and the Storm Badge was mine, with Tristan carrying the entire battle!

Before heading back to Olivine, I wanted to train up a bit - Leto and Terra would be the ones to face Jasmine, and they needed a few levels under their belts. I picked up Fly, and Kiba took me to the Safari Zone so I could train on Route 48. There, I found a Tauros, who I caught and named Hoodlum, before setting about grinding. In the midst of this, Tristan hit level 32, and, to my astonishment, evolved into Meganium! That would have been useful for Chuck...

Leto and Terra need their training, but after that I'll be challenging Jasmine! Until next time!

Back in Olivine City, it was time to challenge Jasmine. I was feeling much more confident for this battle than with Chuck, and when it started, my confidence was not misplaced. Jasmine started with Magnemite, and I with Leto, who took it out with one Flame Wheel. Next was Steelix, so I recalled Leto and brought in Terra. Steelix started with Screech, which worried me somewhat, but I used Mud Shot to lower her speed. It didn't make any difference, though - Terra was actually faster than Steelix, who was two levels higher than she was. Still, Steelix used Screech again, and I decided I had to get Terra out of there, so I threw in Tristan. Just in time, too - Steelix used Iron Tail, and although she missed, I was worried about losing Terra. As per my usual strategy, Tristan set up a Reflect and took a Screech before I brought Terra back in. Iron Tail did a pathetic amount of damage to my Quagsire, and one Surf took Steelix out.

Finally, Jasmine sent in another Magnemite, so I sent in Leto again. He took damage from Sonicboom, but immediately hit back with Flame Wheel, and the Mineral Badge was mine.

With that done, my next destination was Mahogany Town. I didn't fancy trudging through Mount Mortar, regardless of what I might find in there, so I headed back to Ecruteak and Surfed towards Mahogany, meeting Suicune along the way. I hoped to hit the grass before I ran into a Pokémon, but it wasn't to be; I found a Goldeen in the water. You are not the Pokémon I want, madam! Slightly annoyed, I called her Loretta - 'Get back, Loretta!' (A million points to you if you got that.)

The Mahogany Gym was closed, so the only thing I could do was head north to Lake of Rage. There, I ran into a Magikarp - who fainted on me (thanks, Artax). It didn't matter though, as with the shiny clause in effect (and I don't care if it's scripted, I'm counting it anyway), I was able to catch the red Gyarados - Scarlett.

That triggered the appearance of Lance, who asked me to meet him in Mahogany. I, on the other hand, decided it'd be best to battle the trainers I'd missed before taking on Team Rocket. That was where I stopped for the night; I'll continue in a bit.

This is a little thing I used to document on another site(not telling you which), but then I lost interest in it for a while. But now I'm gonna continue this... just on another site

The run began on 7 Mat this year. In-run, I'm at the 5th badge, whilst in game, the run is finished. This will also be in part-written log part-story format. I hope you guys enjoy it!

So yeah. Believe or not, Plat was my first ever game.

So while I was studying for my exams, I found my old cartridge for that game, so I decided to go ahead and nuz it .

So therefore, I will document it.

Rules are the simple old ones, catch the first encounter, permabox the dead, and dupes clause.

Let's see if I can conquer an already hard game DEATHLESS! >:)

Or maybe just beat the longest I have gone without deaths.

So yeah, introduction stuff blah blah, and soon I'm in the starting town.

And then soon later it's starter time, so who do I pick?

I am fairly neutral to all 3 of these guys, I would usually go for Piplup, but I would like to save him for I time where I would like to re-make my first Diamond run, and I want to try out Plat's water types. And then there would be Chimchar and Turtwig. I think I've used an Infernape before, and I also want to try out Plat's fire types. so that leaves out...

I guess the nature would help a bit, since the line is supposed to be physically defensive.

So I get home, grind Aston on the way, and finally, we can process through the game. I decide to buy my balls, and so now we can proceed to do captures. What did I obtain at Route 201 I wonder...?

Was hoping for a female but eh.

Serious is neutral, so I have less things to talk about. And if I get the bird here, I get the rodent...


Riza the Bidoof (F)
Lvl 3, Adamant, Often scatters things.

I guess the nature would probably help a bit. Don't expect her to go all the way because of that, since Bibarel is a bit meh, though she is definitely staying with us for the time being.

After the useless ball tutorial, I decided to grind everyone. It was going fine...except for the fact Riza was the hardest to train of the 3. And-OH WAIT SHE'S LEARNING A NEW MOVE NOW!....

Lvl 4, Sassy, Somewhat vain.
She doesn't have black colouring, I'm only using coloured names for mons who will join the team. I can live with the nature and characteristic and all, but I am already using the Lux-line in another run of mine, and I want to try something new.

Then all the plot-detective stuff blah blah, and then we go on to get our next encounter, most likely a grass seed thing.
And THAT'S not a grass seed thing!

Rob Jr. the Zubat (M)
Lvl 3, Brave, Often lost in thought.
Named after the boss Crobat from my HG run(No, not AGHG, another HGSS run I did.). Crobat is definitely my all-time favourite flying type, but I've used it like 3 times now, and I personally feel I haven't used Staraptor enough. So yeah, not using him.

Then, I decided to walk off and take in an encounter from the sea place.

Obvious, encounter is obvious.

Lvl 5, Naughty, Likes to relax.
First water type, but a bit unlikely he will really join the team because I don't like Gyarados, and there are better water types I would like to give a shot with.

So yeah, the part with the clowns, I give the parcel to the rival, and then, we fight him. As the title says...

We had monkeys for breakfast.

And so we proceed to look for our next encounter. After all that running into countless dupes...

Lvl 4, Lonely, Often lost in thought.
I'm normally not bothered by defensively bad natures...except this is an Abra. Though since I've already used an Alakazam, He has Riza treatment and is most likely not going all the way.

Soon enough we get to fight some trainers. Hm, who does this guy use? I remember one of the guys use a Mach- oh, a Shinx? That means the next guy would have a Machop.

Yes, I am going to train a Meditite. I've used it before in another run, and it's actually quite frail, and it does not help that it evolves so late. As usual, the grass gym was balls-easy, though the Roserade took surprisingly more hits to kill, and the Turtwig set up reflect in the middle of the fight, so I guess that is also kinda annoying.

Kain had to go. If he had a different nature, he would have stayed on the team longer before getting boxed, but lonely on an already frail special attacker isn't gonna work. Nothing against Alakazam in general, but I already brought one to the league in a previous run, and I want to give other mons a shot.

I indeed tried out the intimidate strategy, and it was a success. The Skuntank was also really derpy at the end. I had Jessa in the lead for the last part, and the thing kept spamming night slash nevertheless, so because of the attack drops, they couldn't do **** unless there was a crit. Jessa also learnt Revenge straight after the skunk was down, and then I kinda realised that could have helped in the battle.

The cycling road part really happened in-game. I had Aston in the lead, and then I came across a cyclist that I must battle, and she(though it's a guy in this run) had nothing but Ponytas. I couldn't use Rachel because she was already badly injured by some Staravias we fought earlier, so I decide to just lead with type disadvantage, because I knew that Grotle are very bulky, made better by Aston's impish nature. But then, the horse used a CRITICAL Ember, and it left Aston with a burn. I had to rely on other teammates to take down the horses.

I'm not telling you what happened to Astie for now. Will he and Rachel survive the burns? Will the cyclist and his remaining horses seek revenge? What is going to happen to the remaining Ponyta? Find out in the next episode of TRBG!

Vaporeon: Nature can work well for it, but type redundancy.
Jolteon: Nature can also work well for it, but it's already quite frail so...
Flareon: See both.
Espeon: Nature is quite good for it, but it's female, there are a lot of female Espeon, and I prefer being different.
Umbreon: Nature is fine for it, but I'm already using it currently.
Leafeon and Glaceon are both out. The nature is bad for the former, and the latter comes too late. And I never liked either of the two as pokes in the first place.

So I guess out of all 7, Jolteon is the most suitable. It doesn't share type redundancy with any team member, the nature betters it's higher special attack, and the speed could help out a bit. Though I must be careful about it's lackluster special movepool, as well as the fact it's defences are also much worse due to the nature.

essa's falling hit me quite hard. To be honest, this isn't the first time I had a Machop get blown up on. I also had a previous 'chop named Joe from my Diamond run. He also died to an exploding Geodude, and at a similar level. Too add, my Machops both had names beginning with 'J'. Are they twins? Or maybe Jessa was his ghost?

I was fearful the ghost gym would not go so well with only 5 teammates and only one counter(Aston's bite, and there isn't even STAB). If Toby didn't burn the Mismagius, or if Martin hit himself in confusion, the battle wouldn't have ended very well.

I could have ended the update at the gym, but I thought the beginning of the rival battle was hilarious, so I decided to show it . Tune in next time for the conclusion!

Soon, night came. The team were starving; they never ate a single meal ever since they STARTED the journey. They all decided to eat the Chatot they encountered earlier. they were lucky they had a fire mon on their side to cook it. However, they all had to share it. Eventually, our 'hero' gave up and decide to head back to the previous city. Jeannette joked about eating Billy, but the team was too tired to laugh. Joshua then decided that the gang will sleep early.

And anyway, Rachel really killed the rival's Roselia. Risky, but successful. The entire rival battle was still pretty much a joke.

Billy was by far the hardest mon to capture in this run . He broke out of SEVEN balls in a row and then came into the last one. My team was really butchered after catching him. And the Chatot story is true. When I restocked my balls, I went to the next route and that was my first encounter. It escaped from a QUICK BALL, and proceeded to eat up my regular balls. I decided to call quits, because I didn't want to lose Aston(He was tanking up 5-hit fury attacks.), and my other balls were other quick balls and dusk balls, which I did not want to waste.

And not eating since the journey began, yep, poke-logic.

It's alright. She was undoubtfully the best Staraptor in the world. She swept TWO gyms in a row and early wing attack was too boss for words.

Her trainer was unhappy by how a lot of people he's seen box their starter birds before the league. He wanted to show that first catches can be your best bet...but the champion had other plans.

My mother got killed by the champion's damn Milotic. It was absolutely unexpected; nobody saw it comming.

I was only a newborn when that happened. I cried for MONTHS. Ever since I have absolutely LOATHED Milotics, and always wished I could burn every single one of them alive.

That is the main reason why I am fighting, helping, and supporting all of you. I want to avenge my mother, and become the most successful Staraptor to go to the league.

Man, this update was long. I'm also on holiday, so I make updates using phone and copy+paste, so things kept crashing. Luckilly I learnt how to save by copy+paste onto my notes.

Evil Lucario is evil. In-game, I actually used Aston to finish it off, but I felt that anyone who evolved during grinding should have screentime for the update. I also wanted to create some characterisation between Martin and Rachel.

Speaking of which, Martin's backstory is true. The full story will be revealed... in the FUTURE.

This run will also take a more 'plotty' approach. I wanted this to be a 'play and write' kind of run at first, but now in game, I'm much ahead of the run(7 badges, 3 deaths), so no point rushing through to keep up. Therefore, there will be more teammate interaction and stuff.

And also, before you ask, Kate cannot talk. For plot reasons or not, you just need to find out.

"YEAH, WHATEVER!"*sends out Floatzel*

Meanwhile, our hero forgot to bring his OTHER 4 mons into the gym with him.

'The great marsh'...?

Lets go inside, shall we?

So, Burgh. I've got to say that I quite liked his new gym design and music. His chamber at the top was kind of weird, but okay, I'm not gonna ask. When I fought him, I finally found out why he never actually helped with anything. He's pretty weak.

I lead off with Sam, which was a dumb choice, because his first Pokémon was a Swadloon. Cue switch to Betty. Instead of the expected Razor Leaf, he just used String Shot. Well, okay. Betty just killed it with a Bug Bite.

Next up was Dwebble, so now I switched back to Sam. It survived the Razor Shell thanks to sturdy, but instead of attacking, it used Rock Polish. Okay... Burgh, you don't feel like attacking me? He may have heard me, because he used Smack Down now, being faster. Not that it did him any good.

Now I had to face Leavanny. Boris would be the perfect choice. Burgh was weirdly obsessed with raising and lowering speed in this battle, because he used String Shot yet again. I'm disappointed. What kind of gym leader are you? Okay, whatever. Boris finished the job quickly, winning us the battle and giving Betty the opportunity to evolve. I completely forgot that she evolved through happiness... like apparently half my team did, as I noticed now.

On our way out of the city, we met the weird Plasma scientist yet again, who may not even be involved with Team Plasma after all from the way he was talking... Was I misinformed? I let him take a look at my Pokémon and agreed to fight him. He made me realize that I didn't have anything useful against steel Pokémon. At least nothing that didn't also have a weakness to electricity. The fight was more of a struggle as Betty's and Bluebell's combined efforts finally brought him down while I had to continuously heal their paralysis. At least Colress shooed away the Crustle so I could continue.

Exploring the desert, I caught a male Dwebble I called Oliver in the Desert Resort and a Sandshrew in Relic Castle. I considered both of them for the last free spot on the team, but Oliver ultimately won. I've never trained one before and his ability Shell Armor would come in really handy in a Nuzlocke. At least one Pokémon where I didn't have to worry about critical hits. With that, the party was complete and with Mimi magically transforming into a male, Betty was the only female.

One of the trainers in Relic Castle actually gave me a bit of trouble as his Sigilyph nearly killed Bluebell with a crit, which made me wish he had Shell Armor as well. I really don't want to lose him.

Before I could reach Nimbasa City, I was stopped by a random guy who just appointed me as the manager of Join Avenue. Okay... entrusting a random stranger with this, why not? Nimbasa City held quite a few battles again. And I could catch some more Pokémon on the surrounding routes.

Also, I found someone else's Xtransceiver at the amusement park. Apparently some guy called Curtis had lost it and as he called me from a different device, he asked me to keep it for him until we'd meet. Alright, I can do this. I guess his identity is gonna be a big reveal, since he can't/won't show his face, hesitated when he said his name and actually asked me whether I really don't have any idea who he is. It all reminds me a bit of Malva. I guess I'll see who he is eventually. Next up was the gym and if I remember correctly from Black, this might actually be a pain.

Expecting Elesa to start with Emolga and hoping against the odds that she would use anything other than Volt Switch, I put Oliver to the front. Of course, she Volt Switched anyway, so Oliver's Rock Slide hit her Flaafy instead. However, Oliver had taken way too much damage for my liking and was already in the yellow after only one attack. Why does he have such a horrible special defense? I had to heal him the next turn, while Flaafy used Volt Switch as well, bringing him back into the yellow, and Elesa sent out Emolga again. Well, great. At least I didn't have to worry about critical hits on Oliver. But it was obvious that he wouldn't be able to do anything else in this fight. He may have been faster than Flaafy, but there was no way that he would somehow outspeed Emolga. And I still didn't know what her last Pokémon was.

I actually took a bit of a risk there by switching in Betty. Emolga most likely had a flying type attack, but I was pretty sure she'd just use Volt Switch again, which she did, dealing minimal damage on Betty. This time, Elesa switched to Zebstrika, which could be just as troublesome if it had Flame Charge. I decided to see what she would use and had Betty use Protect. She actually tried to attack me with Pursuit. Okay, not what I expected. Hoping she'd do the same again, I went for the Bug Bite. She chose Quick Attack this time, which was a stupid idea on her part, since I immediately healed up the bit of damage it did on Betty by stealing her Sitrus Berry. Next turn, she revealed that she had Flame Charge after all, which did a lot but luckily didn't kill Betty. The second Bug Bite defeated the Zebstika.

Elesa then sent in Flaafy again. I didn't expect it to pose a threat to Betty, so I let her stay in and just healed her. Flaafy paralyzed her. That didn't faze Betty at all, since she just Bug Bit it to death on the next turns after barely being scratched by Flaafy's Take Downs.

Now, Emolga was the only one left. Since I still expected a flying type move, I then switched to Bluebell. Emolga's Volt Switch did almost nothing and Bluebell defeated it with a single Return. So much for that. When I googled it afterwards, I found out that it didn't have any flying moves after all, but better be safe than sorry.

All in all, this went much more smoothly than I expected. Now with the fourth badge in my pocket, I made my way over to Driftveil City.
