This sounds pretty interesting, I'll have to give it a try. One question though, you've made a lot of changes to the various Pokemon by the sounds of it and while the type changes are listed in the first post, the stat changes mostly aren't. Given that the ones you did list are pretty radical, it might be nice if you provide a list of all the new stats so people (ie myself, but I'm trying not to sound selfish lol) know what they're getting into with some of these things.

This hack is great! I love it, it has triggered various dreams I have had of Pokémon Emerald, where I visited similar looking places to the ones I dreamed of. And it adds so much things the original Ruby, Sapphire and Emerald lacked, one thing being Day and Night. I've only just defeated Skyla and I can't wait to progress!

see I started on a pastebin of all changes, but it takes so god damn long. I only got up to nidoking and it drove me insane. Will try to finish this, but I wanna balance this thing a little better which means I have to update everything again :v
I can tell you one thing, it won't include anything about changes to TMs. That would give me a stroke!

Hey, I really like this hack. It feels fresh and it's exciting to try different pokes again. But if I may make a suggestion, could you look at smogon (.) com/dex/rs/formats/nu/ ?

You've really made some of them fun to use but I would really love it if most if not all (even the not fully evolved ones) were somewhat viable. It's kinda sad that there's filler pokemon whose purpose is just to pad the 386 pokedex collection.
Which ones are you finding too weak? I'd really love to hear some pointers for weak ones, it's hard to playtest 200 unique evolution lines. I'm doing a few buffs to NFE this next round, but any pointers would be really handy!

I'm also intentionally keeping delibird and wigglytuff weak because I just can't abide having all my pokemon good. There's gotta be a joke mon somewhere that feels ridiculous against the elite 4.

Whats the earliest i can get a moon stone? I dont really want to level up eevee to far so umbreon doesnt miss learning any moves? Thanks
It's around Mauville, hidden item, available before the 3rd gym.

What exactly is the difference between the hard mode patch and the normal patch? Just trainer levels or something more elaborate?
It's a really, really tiny patch that tweaks gym leader and rival pokemon. The level curve stays the same, but there's more grinding to get past certain barriers. The elite 4 is also metal as all heck, they just don't faint.

Its really awesome your so committed to updating your hack regularly but personally I hope it ends soon once all the major bugs have finally been ironed out and the last needed changes are made.
I think all the major bugs are gone now, I fixed like 20 of them in the next patch.

Rest of the changes I've made are just nice polish things, they don't add much, but I think they're positive. I want to make this next update the last, so look forward to a remodelled victory road floor 1, tm32 pain split, and cheaper game corner prizes

I can't get up to the right hand stairs in Mt Pyre... What do I do? Talking to the orange tombs doesn't do diddly squat. And I can't find the Latias/Latios ticket, I've searched everywhere on Route 119, even on that slope.

Walk past all the orange tombs in order, from the group with only one, to the group with two, to the group with three, and so on, using the shortest path possible, then go to the right hand staircase.

The other one's my own screw up and it's fixed in the newest patch, sorry. Hopefully it's there in your save file. I've moved the slope on route 119 to a different spot in the same route that now needs both bikes to access it!

If y'all could help me out, where do you find the water stone
In the previous patch, the earliest one is on route 104 in the big pond as a hidden item. in the new one it replaces one of the items on route 114 instead. There's also a load of blue shards you get from diving that you can trade for them (enough to evolve every pokemon that needs one) and a shop that lets you buy them in the battle frontier

May I know how to get HM08 Dive? I din get it from steven.
There's a purple girl on route 135 (south of mt pyre) who gives it to you

LAST PACH NOTES I HOPE
big changes
-Hard mode patch is now complete, increases trainer and wild mon levels by about 10% and changes gym battles a lot. You can tell you have applied the hard mode patch successfully if Birch's bag has a little piece of paper with the word "HARD" on it when you choose your starter.
-TMs are now in yellow balls
-fixed 20 minor errors or so
-added a new tm32 pain split on route 112, and a new tm44, recycle, from the same place that attract always has been
-redid top floor of victory road

small stuff
-Buffed substitute by making the sprite cuter
-rom is now laced with innuendo again, still PG. New dex entries.
-made timer ball look like a timer ball when thrown, redid some ui stuff, do tell me if this is a downgrade, I think it looks pretty slick
-moved snatch to be obtainable before fighting archie in seafloor cavern
-Seviper is now Poison/Dark type
-stat buffs to a lot of mons
-added some things that tell you where to go on route 119 and in mauville
-nuzleaf now learns leaf blade at lv28
-Changed the prizes in the game corner to encourage gambling
-Changed the power of some moves, list of all changes since the start are listed in the first post
-Moved some evolutionary stones earlier, check out the first post

-Every time you beat a member of the e4, there's an item ball you can pick up that contains two rare candies. These items are optional, and respawn every time. I want to make grinding in the postgame easier, and tone down the e4's difficulty on the first runthrough. At the same time, if you fall at the last hurdle I don't want to make the next try completely trivial, so they're not forced into your bag if you do actually want the challenge.

Just to let the creater know that a person I know on Vidme is playing this hack, Probably the older version of the hack judging by Victory Road: https://vid.me/HNkN
I've dropped him a message saying thanks, it's so awesome to hear stuff like this. if he does update, definitely worth saving in the pokemon centre outside!

i turned on 2 switch and get to the room...
Have no idea how I replaced the entire deoxys sidequest with a revive but I just fixed it with a patch
if anyone else has this issue them hmu and ill make you a rom where it's available

Where and how can I get the Coin Case for the Casino?
There's a girl in mauville who wants harbor mail, try giving one to her!

Patch notes
-I have no self restraint
-this game will be continually updated til the end of time, there will never be a final version, only a version with a long gap before I next update.
-Added a dirty great canyon next to route 111, accessible once you have go goggles. It contains TM49, a thunderstone, a handful of fresh new puzzles and some mysterious berries
-fixed the 20 bugs THAT caused
-tweaked some routes a bit more, not because it's an improvement but because i dont like the sideshow showcase
-fixed like 3 invisible walls and the missing auroraticket

I have been playing through and am at Mauville, but I can not progress the game because of the boxes of spare generator parts blocking the way. Can anyone help?
Get the Acro bike and go across the log bridges besides those boxes and the stones with the bike's bunny hop.

It is high time I put out an FAQ!

Love this game only issue I have is with mudkip, he has dampen and torrent for abilities but when he is evolved with torrent it switches to dampen, tried at least 40 mudkips sand same results all the time, would love a regular torrent ability then dampen which imo is useless, can you fix this if possible
I've changed this now, next time I put out a patch it'll change the ability of half your mudkips to torrent. I'll message you when it's up

Not sure if I'm playing an outdated version or something, but is there any reason why Shroomish can't learn Bullet Seed and Scyther can't learn Cut? Just seems odd
Scyther's been changed intentionally, it just does too much damage with cut, at too high a base speed, with no downside. Fury cutter is weaker but makes for more interesting battles. I changed shroomish to encourage people to use things beside their starter in the first gym. Turns out people like their starters (what a surprise!) and will use them regardless, so stuff like this probs just makes the game worse. I've reverted it on a n e w patch

patch notes:
You now receive strength after beating lavaridge gym, and the guy in rusturf tunnel gives you a different item instead.
-------------If anyone misses out on strength because of this update, hit me up and I'll fix your game for you-----------------
You no longer need to learn how to use the acro bike to go from mauville to route 103, instead you can get there with either bike. This means some changes to route 103 and route 110

Starters who lost their "torrent/blaze/overgrow" style abilities have a 50% chance to have them back. The new starters now have a 50% chance to have their old ability too. Fixed some spooky ghost blocks again, you can now buy white herbs and mental herbs in lavaridge town, and there might have been a really huge bug that got fixed, but I'm pretty much sure it was only present on my copy lmao

Visual bugs that I know of, but haven't fixed just yet:
route 115 top of mountain glows in the dark
route 120 has some rocks that reflect clouds in them
the town map looks odd when you zoom in on rote 113

The distribution of mons is fantastic, I'm just about to take on the Magma Hideout now and so far I'm really enjoying this hack. Few notes however:

-Some trainer mons only have struggle (Basically all magnemites, a few woopers and the gym trainer in fortree with a murkrow spring to mind)
-The tar pit, this thing is a complete mess. I couldn't work out how to get out whatsoever so I had to faint my mons to teleport back to mauville.
-Whilst I love the map changes some routes and towns feel cluttered and or difficult to navigate, mauville is a key example. Hoenn's such a vast and dynamic region that makes it exploring it so fun, making these tight walk ways really lessens this effect. In this case less really is more.
-The hack would really benefit with some Gen IV/Gen V moves added to give mons better stabs/coverage
-Certain debuffs to moves, why? EQ only having 5pp, boomburst having it's power and max pp nerfed etc? I get you're encouraging diversity with your mons and moves but some of these edits are slightly puzzling.
-I don't have a problem with extensive HM use, if anything I encourage it but if the moves themselves aren't viable to carry with you all game it becomes a chore to have to carry a HM slave around with you. Bar the edits you've made to HM's that are now priority, I'd suggest making them at least 60BP, even if you have to edit or remove their secondary effects to not break them entirely.
-Not that much of an issue but I'd love some of the NPC's to reflect the new plot and changes to the region with their dialogue. Would really add to the whole sequel vibe.

Overall though I'm really enjoying the changes and as someone who would consider Emerald their favourite game in the series I can't wait to see this hack and grow and get even better.

The tar pit's fixed now! Try it out again! The pointers of certain map just occasionally decide to change for a quick laugh.

I've thought about gen 4 moves. The ones I want to put in are all the status ones, which to my knowledge have barely ever been implemented. I think I'm gonna pop feint pulse up to 75 power for special dark types, and maybe add in a TM for special ground types. most special rock types get ancientpower, which is now a much more reasonable option as your stab move.
Instead of adding gen 4 moves in I just buffed old ones. Which pokemon do you think need more coverage?

rerouting the game through mauville early on is just about the biggest mistake i ever made, but I'm gonna have another crack at it. it's been through like 3 iterations already, the bastard.

Rock smash and flash to 40 bp? Lowering defense every time is pretty good to be honest.
I can cope with cut being buffed!

eq was busted in gen 3 and the fact you get it as a reusable tm means you just whack it on everything in your party that learns it and. I tried out reducing its accuracy and its power, both of those changes feel bad, and i think the pp change gives the move a weakness without chucking out all its charm. Nonetheless I'm going to make boomburst stronger (for the vine) please tell me if it goes overboard!

This critique is great, gonna go fix those trainers now.

I'll sure to patch the new version when I get the chance. Buffing flash to 40BP sounds great, for Rock Smash maybe edit the effect to boost the users attack? Like a Gen 3 power up punch. As for EQ maybe lower its power to 90BP and 10PP? That way in keeps in line with similar BP moves like flamethrower etc (that extra 5BP is justified by the lack of secondary effect). If you implement that however I'd consider lowering Dig's BP to adjust to the curve, maybe 60BP with a chance to flinch?

Now I think about it that whole area east of Mauville could use some work (Forest Rapids all the way up to before Lilycove). The flow of it feels awkward and the lack of places to heal/buy items etc makes it a chore to navigate, however this might be fixed with the editing of the tar pit. The edits you've made to some routes look and feel great to work through, I loved the overpasses on Route 102 and the Canyon area past the Desert for example. I think the main issue I experienced with this section is it feels a little overwhelming, too much going on you know?
