I feel like catching a scyther, but each time the though crosses my mind I'm reminded of what it evolves into and I'm like, lolgrossman, so I end up rescinding that plan. XD

B-but Scizor is a great Pokemon. x3 Not sure how we could even evolve a Scyther or other trade Pokemon like Kadabra and Machoke though.

Simple. Trade will not be required. I always thought that was meh anyways.

Chapter 3 is up! Here, you will actually have a chance to get an evolution item already... But make sure to deserve it! Since you guys have no way of knowing what pokémon might come later, except for Kanto pokémon perhaps, this'll be a wild risk taking from your side ;D but you're of course able to trade items if you meet up and notice that you both have something the other wants. And there will be more occasions on which you'll get evolution items.

Awesome! :D I always disliked the necessary trade concept as well.

Sounds real interesting I think Pewter is really promising I'm liking Brock's set up! ^_^ Looking forward to this chapter.

You and me both Letham! I should be able to churn out a post by tomorrow, though I'm feeling my team is a bit too underleveled to take on mister Brock. Maybe it'll change once I've beaten his trainer and possibly taken a Meowth down a notch.

Yeah I'll likely try and train my team up a bit even though Lucy is going to be the only one who can really do a whole lot to any Pokemon in Brock's Gym. x3

The trade thing is just a way for Nintendo to make more money or bring people together or something :p

Yeah, I'll have to level up my team too. Especially since I have certain plans for Blitzle and Servine... Let's just say I regret my choice of starter just a little bit xD

EDIT: Yeah, now I definitely have a large but underleveled team xD way to go, tactics. Anti-tactics. Oh well. Grinding time before Brock.

Yeah I'm fairly sure they've said it was intended to make people do the link thing back in the day and 'bring them together' but it always seemed gimmicky to me. x3

Also if you can level up Heracross to learn Brick Break then you should do just fine in Brock's Gym. :D

Which list of TMs are we allowed to use to make our selection? Gen. 5 ones or can we pick from any list in past games?

I'm also curious as to what might happen for the people that're falling behind. One person hasn't even posted any in the first chapter and I think one or two others haven't started chapter two yet.

Also I already know what evolutionary item I want. XD I WILL GET IT.

By the way, where exactly are these wild Pokemon located? Are they just randomly throughout the city or in the outskirts or what? I'm also curious about whether the level cap will hold if I choose to continue posting in another chapter when I'm able to continue on to the next chapter.

I'd guess they're just on the outskirts, though I'm sure you could find a stray Meowth or two in the city :P

Also @Red: What's your rule on shiny Pokémon? Are we allowed to catch them, can we even meet them? Does it require a spectacular post, or are you simply not going with them? I've got a bit of a plan for my next two posts, so if you're unsure about it, lemme give you a PM and I'll tell you my plan :3

TMs: I'll be going with the 5th gen list, most likely. But I don't care too much, so if there's a move that's not on that list but on another generation's TM list, it would probably be ok with me :]

Falling behind: As we are a lot of active players in this RP who like the pace we're moving on now, Sovereign's and heretostay's inactivity is actually beginning to bother me. But as I don't think I'd want to take in new players if two dropped out, I guess they can just start posting when they feel like they finally have time to catch up, or they can just leave if they feel like they are too far behind. Sorry, but I did state in the rules that I wanted at least one post every week and if they couldn't do that they shouldn't have signed up. It's not cruel, it's a way to make the RP good for those who are able to play :]
CONCLUSION: don't you worry about them.

Wild pokémon: in the rocky area behind the gym, the chapter post states that "strange pokémon" can be found. What pokémon seem strange here? It's Sableye and Mawile, in case that was too diffuse. But you can write about encountering them, and Meowth and Pidove, anywhere as long as it makes sense enough. I think of Meowth as typical stray cat city pokémon and Pidove as pidgeons who are pretty common in cities. The others: be creative or skip them?

LEVEL CAP: We can discuss this if you don't agree with me, but here is what I think, with an example. In order to be able to level up past lvl 20, you have to move into Pewter City. But if you then want to go back to Viridian Forest for some reason, you can write a post in the "chapter 2 area" even though your pokémon are in levels in the "chapter 3 limit". You just have to write at least one post in the new chapter to unlock the new level cap.
Would that be ok? It is to make sure that players who are far behind can't level up to 30 in Viridian Forest just because some players have reached Cerulean City already.

Yeah :3

SHINY POKÉMON: god, I love them. So I'm totally not against it :3 But maybe you'll only be allowed one or two shiny pokémon in total over the course of the RP, so choose wisely. I'd say you can just encounter them in any way.

There might be a future event featuring shiny pokémon... Because there are plot reasons :D like with so much else~ But the main plot won't be revealed for a little while still! I'd actually want to wait until Cerulean or even after Cerulean with that. As long as we enjoy our RPing as ordinary pokédex trainers, I say let's keep at it! I know I am not bored yet ^^

EDIT: ohoho, I spot interaction between Meredith and Ben!

Cool. There were some nice 4th gen. TMs that existed but for some reason the 5th gen. games replaced them. >:(

I'm not too worried so much as I'm curious.

I must've missed the details on the location of those Pokemon, but your thoughts make sense to me in that regard.

That's the idea I had in mind for the level cap so it works for me.

Also, are you basing Pokemon's move-sets on BW moves or B2W2 moves? Some Pokemon I noticed exhibit different moves available to them and at different levels.

Yeah, what Red said on the level cap makes total sense, and I'm all on board with that :3 As to the shiny thing, sounds like a plan! Not like I'd want to focus too much on it, but I'd like to spice up my upcoming... uh, plot... sort of thing, with a bit of variety :P

That all sounds good to me. ^_^ The level cap idea seems pretty reasonable to me as do the TMs and Shiny idea. I'm having a tough time choosing between a Metal Coat or another evolutionary item. >.< I'll likely go with the Coat as I do want my Scyther to evolve. Decisions decisions hahaha

Also Serebii is what I figured we were going by its a good tool to use.

Did I miss you capturing a Scyther? O.o

No haha x) But one got away from me in one of my last posts and going to track him down before I leave the forest. Was referring to later on in Chapter 3 once I have already captured him.

Some, but not all pokémon? Many or just a few? Does this apply to many moves or just maybe one move per pokémon?

Because I'm flipping through that 'dex now and I so far haven't encountered any pokémon with differences.

And in any case, I'll probably follow the list that is on top, directly under the other information.

There are a few in B2W2 that have pretty radical changes to their level up moves compared to BW. I found this list from the same site of the Pokemon whose movesets are different in B2W2. It's certainly not a majority of them but it's quite a few.

Now that you mention it, I remember looking at those lists before and nodding at how good the changes were. I'll try to remember using the new ones, because that will likely be more fun.

Is there any pokémon from the previous/current chapters that I've forgotten to do this with?
