Favorite Pokemon of Each Type?

Normal: Porygon-Z, Zangoose, Persian
Fire: Typhlosion, Houndoom, Delphox
Water: Swampert, Floatzel, Cloyster
Grass: Decidueye, Cacturne, Sceptile
Electric: Ampharos, Galvantula, Jolteon
Flying: Noctowl, Sigilyph, Noivern
Bug: Heracross, Ninjask, Scizor
Fighting: Lucario, Infernape, Gallade
Ground: Gliscor, Excadrill, Donphan
Rock: Kabutops, Tyranitar, Onix
Steel: Bisharp, Aegislash, Empoleon
Poison: Roserade, Crobat, Seviper
Psychic: Espeon, Reuniclus, Gardevoir
Ghost: Sableye, Chandelure, Mismagius
Dark: Scrafty, Zoroark, Greninja
Dragon: Kingdra, Garchomp, Dragalge
Ice: Weavile, Lapras, Walrein
Fairy: Togekiss, Clefable, Sylveon

Bug: Charjabug. Always was, is, and will be.
Dark: Sneasel. Used to be my favorite Pokemon of all time.
Dragon: Guzzlord. USUM made it interestingly creepy.
Electric: Xurkitree. I LOVE IT.
Fairy: Whimsicott. It's a grass sheep. What's not to love?
Fighting: Buzzwole. It's so...majestic.
Fire: Volcarona. I like fire moths.
Flying: Celesteela. I might be attracted to it...
Ghost: Mimikyu. Dusknoir is a close second.
Grass: Steenee. I like it more than Tsareena aesthetically, anyway.
Ground: Stunfisk. Please don't kill me, PC.
Ice: Vanilluxe. Why does everyone hate this thing?
Normal: Porygon-Z. It's absurd in a way that appeals to me.
Poison: Poipole. It's so adorable.
Psychic: Kirlia. Yes, I like it more than Gardevoir and Gallade.
Rock: Cradily. Armaldo comes in second, though.
Steel: Jirachi. It's adorable.
Water: Palpitoad. For some reason, I love it.

I feel a few of these changes each time I do this but for the most part it's pretty consistent who my favorite of each type is. I think the only time some of them change is when I'm limiting myself one starter and one eeveelution but as you can see I didn't do that this time around hahah.

It was harder to pick these than I expected.

I keep going back and forth about a bunch of these, but this is the list I've come up with for the time being. In some cases, if I liked a dual-type Pokemon enough to pick it twice, I instead picked it for just one of its types and picked my next favorite Pokemon of the remaining type.

Water: Blastoise
Normal: Teddiursa
Electric: Pikachu
Psychic: Mewtwo
Fighting: Pancham (runner up: Gallade)
Rock: Tyrantrum
Ground: Quagsire
Flying: Noctowl (very tough choice)
Bug: Scyther
Poison: Nidoking
Dark: Tyranitar
Ghost: Gengar
Ice: Lapras
Steel: Scizor
Dragon: Salamence
Fairy: Slurpuff

It was interesting to see the breakdown of these by generation. In particular, I was surprised to see so many gen 6 Pokemon. I wasn't surprised by the high gen I representation and the reasonably high gen II representation. Many of my favorite Pokemon have similar types (e.g., I like a lot of water types), so some of the Pokemon who ranked highly on this list aren't ones I actually care about very much overall.

I'm going to do something different by specifically not picking my favorites of each type, since I've already done that more times than I can count. Instead, I'm going with Pokemon that either I've recently gained an appreciation for, or they're a Pokemon I've always liked, but we're never quite my #1.
