MY APPLICATION

Spoiler:
Name: Warren Ainsworth
Age: 19 years old
Gender: Male
Type: Trainer Teacher
Hometown: Blackthorn City
Ethnicity: White/Hispanic

Appearance:Warren doesn’t have a refined, elegant appearance to him because he never really grew up with money. He has a more edgy, scruffy look about him. His thick wavy brunette hair that is carelessly scuffed about and he has wide hazel eyes. He’s a pretty boy with a lot of natural beauty, he was luckily enough to avoid acne in his teenage years and his skin looks really good. Although he doesn’t have any refined or taken care of features, he is really naturally attractive and he would catch people’s eyes. His dress sense is rather plain because he never cared much for fashion or anything like that and almost detested trying to look good. His style comes across as a skater boy. Warren wears brown cargo pants which reach just below his knees. Which have pockets on the sides of each hip. His most noticeable accessory is the necklace with a silver poke ball, which he always wears on his neck. He also has a grey hooded t-shirt that he is generally wearing. Some people assume he has style but you can’t really tell but Warren doesn’t really bother with his appearance and wears what he feels comfortable in. For Warren's shoes he wears standard black sneakers. Warren is a 6 foot tall, which stems from his father who was also a very tall man. Warren has a very well defined and toned, athletic body thanks to the numerous physically activities and sports he has undergone his entire life. Sports played a huge part in his life and he grew a little bit of an obsession with gym training, so that helped. He has a well defined body and but it’s not over the top muscle but it fits in well with his height and age. He’s a very natural tan on him and it makes him kind of exotic and foreign. His shoulders are rather broad and his jaw line is very defined and structured. He definitely looks older than he is. He’s a very handsome boy who wouldn’t have trouble with women if he knew how to speak to them.

Personality: Warren isn’t rather emotive and it shows when you first meet him. He comes off as rather cold, closed off and detached from his feelings which comes from his unstable past. His disclosed persona has always been a troubling factor in his life and it stopped him fitting in, his entire life. He’s a rather focused and level headed boy with not a lot of things to care for. He’s pretty much a one man army and isn’t used to companionship or family being there for him and it’s shaped the person he is now. Because of his isolated past, he’s used to be alone amongst humans but he feels at home when surrounded by Pokémon and takes great care of them. His trust for people doesn’t come instantly. It takes a while for people to gain his trust and it takes a series of trials and situations before he puts his trust in anyone’s hands. He is very cautious with strangers and his does come across as very shifty and mistrustful whenever he meets new people. It would take alot for him to trust another human being but when it does, you would think twice to break his trust because he doesn’t believe in second chances and wouldn’t hesitate to forget you.

If there was one thing he could count on in life, it was his love for Pokémon and their companionship. He’s always been rather connected and freer when Pokémon are concerned. Whilst living in the foster home, he never spent much time with the other kids but in the garden, hoping to catch a glimpse of a Wild Pokémon running about and he did, many times. His was always taught that Pokémon were made for companionship and they were looking for a partner and he felt like Pokémon were his kindred spirits and formed this connection with them. The only time you’d see any sort of real emotion is when he’s surrounded by Pokémon or battling. He can’t explain the feeling he gets from them but he just feels like they could do no wrong with him. He comes across as very competitive when battling. He’s also very intense and serious when it comes to anything trainer related. He’s very analytical and is often seen paying a lot of attention on opponent’s strategies to come up with their predictability.

Warren’s lack of communication is made up for him being very observant to his surroundings and he takes a weird sort of pride in this - because he likes Pokémon, and feels more connected with a Pokémon if he knows something about them, like their characteristics, so he observes them to help himself. He picks up on things other people fail to notice and that trait helps him battle. You could say that he’s a very shy around people but most wouldn’t notice it because he hardly has much to say to people. Although, but he slowly overcomes this as he becomes more interested and involved in something; hence why he is rarely nervous or withdrawn whilst battling. Courage when it's needed, typically a pacifist. Overly helpful and dedicated to any task that he takes.

History:Warren didn’t live a relatively normal life. He never grew up in a family with a mother or a father but he grew up in an orphanage. His mother died when he was just 4 years old and since there wasn’t anyone else around to take care of him, he was put in care to be raised with a dozen other children just like him. He was generally a bright kid who was happy but when his mother died, he became quiet and withdrawn. The only person he ever knew was gone and he didn’t really understand why she was. He never really opened to many people around him except for his foster carer, Annabelle who was very sweet to him and took care of him. He learnt of his only living relative, his father being alive and when he was set to be placed there, things changed. His father was said to be murdered by his son. That was the start of Warren changing.

During his life growing up, he was never sure where his place was and how he fitted into this isolated world. He was a very misunderstood kid because most people assumed that he was being cold and mean to them but all he wanted was to be left alone but others because essentially gave up on life at an early stage. At the age of 9, he was very much known in the home as the kid you wouldn’t want to be around. Although the kids could relate with one another, they didn’t talk about their shortcomings in life but moved on. Warren couldn’t move on. He was plagued with the anger that consumed him because he didn’t understand how his mother could just abandon him like that. How she could just up and leave. He was too young to be told the full details of her disappearance but she supposedly died of cancer. Everyone thought it best not to tell him about it to protect him from it. He grew angry towards the lack of knowledge he had about his mother until he was sat down by Annabelle and she told him everything. He soon softened his memory of his mother and was soon a little more sympathetic about his past. He soon moved on from his anger towards his mother and focused on himself. But the new information he had learnt made him more withdrawn and cold towards other. He never really tried to make any friends at school or at the home; he just made do with the Pokémon he dreamt about.

In comparison to the child he was and the teenager he was now, Warren was very different because of how his life panned out. Him being an orphan and having nobody in the world made him a rather closed off person who was very suspect of everyone and everything around him. He didn’t trust well and never allowed people get too close to him because he honestly didn’t see the point. He felt that people never stick around and they’ll leave as soon as you’re comfortable with their presence. He wasn’t going to make the mistake of caring about someone because he just couldn’t deal with the pain of losing someone again. He felt that people weren’t reliable as Pokémon were and he grew a strong love and connection for them which still remains rather strong to this day.

When he was only 12, he met a Pokémon on his way back from school. He had decided to ditch the other boys and went an alternative route home because he couldn’t really stand their company. He went through the patchy forest where he met an injured Phanpy in desperate need of help. He decided to take it to the Pokémon Centre where Phanpy got treatment. Warren decided to stay and see how it was doing and after hearing news that it was going to be fine, Warren was about to leave but Nurse. Joy thought it best if he took care of Phanpy. Warren couldn’t pass up the opportunity to take care of Phanpy as his own and took him back home. Although, he knew that he wasn’t allowed to keep it, so he found a way to keep it hidden from everyone. He built a small shelter for Phanpy in the far end of the garden, visiting it often.

When he was about 13, he decided it was time to finally get out of the home and start his own journey as a Pokémon Trainer and he decided to run away from the home, taking Phanpy with him and start it, with or without their permission. He started out in his home region, Johto. He overheard that he could receive a starter if he visited Professor Elm’s lab where he was told he wasn’t eligible to receive a Pokémon but Warren decided to show Prof. Elm that he could indeed take care of Pokémon and ranted on about his love for Pokémon and after much persuasion, he managed to convince the Professor that he was suitable to take care of a starter. He eventually chose Chikorita as his Johto starter. He spent 9 months travelling the region to collect the eight badges he needed and after building his team of six and making it to the Silver Conference in which he got a lot of publicity for. He was eliminated before reaching the semi finals of the conference. He was very disappointed in himself but decided it was best to keep training so he could improve next time. The publicity he received made it easier for Annabelle to track him down and when they did, she gave him her blessing to continue his journey as a Pokémon trainer. She also told him that he had some inheritance from his mother.. He received money which he was advised to use in his journey. With her approval and his inheritance, He spent the next few years travelling the regions as he trained himself and continued to grow his Pokémon team. After many experiences and travels, Warren learnt alot from it all and after battling in many regions like Kanto, Hoenn, Sinnoh and Unova Leagues, he was never really satisfied with losing in the semi finals and decided it was time for him to same unsolicited time off from competing in leagues and went on his own journey to bulk up his team and refine his skills as a trainer and he spent his time training in Hoenn to really get a feel of the region that he once lost in. He chose to stay because of how he lost, so easily. He chose to stay here and bide his time to battle anyone he comes across, hopefully building on more and more experience.

After many years training, Warren met the Sinnoh Champion, Cynthia and things were a little tense. Warren decided he wanted to prove himself to her and challenged her to a Pokemon battle and Cynthia accepted. They had a 4 on 4 battle and although Cynthia beat him, Warren impressed her enough for her to offer him a place in her academy. She thought his experience would serve well for the students and he accepted. He’s been there for a few months now and focuses on teaching the students on battling styles and defense and offense.

Just a few questions.

I'm assuming the "OCC" in the thread title is meant to read OOC. If not, what does it stand for?

Is "Maximum 16lv" meant to mean each Pokémon's level must be 16 or below, or 16 levels spread across three Pokémon or what?

For each Pokémon, six movesets are allowed - is that six individual movesets of four moves (and you can only choose one to use in a battle), or six moves all up?

Name: Jack Murdoch
Age: 18
Gender: Male
Type: Civilian
Hometown: Sandgem Town

Appearance: Jack stands at around six feet tall, making him of average height for his age. Throughout most of his teenage years he had a young looking face, however since finishing his schooling at the Ultimate Trainers Academy last year his face has matured and his facial hair grows more evenly, enabling him to appear older than he is. He has messy dark brown hair which reaches about halfway down his neck and to his eyes in length, and shaves roughly twice a week, meaning most of the time you'll either see him cleanly shaven or with stubble. He has blue eyes, which at a younger age he was told were pretty and since then have dulled slightly to a less vibrant hue. During the winter he wears black jeans, a button up shirt and a dark grey peacoat. During the summer, he wears shorts and a t-shirt (usually with the name of a music group somewhere on it).

Personality: Jack has a friendly personality if you make the effort to talk to him, however he will rarely start the conversation. Despite his shyness, he knows a large number of people, most of whom he met through playing music or through having mutual friends. He keeps an open mind, though despite his shyness he is interested in the news and in current affairs and develops strong opinions on issues that matter to him. By default he has respect for everybody he meets, and unless somebody does something to ruin this he will continue to focus on the good side of a person rather than the bad. In a sense, this is a fault, as it's perfectly plausible that he may place too much trust in somebody in the future and come out worse off.

Jack, despite knowing many people, does not have many (perhaps any) close friendships. He has certain friends he spends lots of time with, but nobody who he feels understands him. He does not mention this to anybody, nor does anybody suspect him of being a loner, but at times he feels alone. The only true friend he has is his Natu, Aether. Over time, the two have developed a psychic bond (as many trainers do with psychic-type Pokémon) however at this point it has not developed to the point of telepathic speech, only a communication of feelings (for example in a battle Jack may suddenly feel worried, in which case Natu will battle cautiously rather than offensively).

History: Jack was born and raised in Sandgem Town, Sinnoh. The town, being close to Jubilife City, meant that Jack often visited it with his parents. From this, he developed a keen sense of direction. Due to his upbringing by fairly strict but well-meaning parents, he was very innocent until he turned eleven and was sent off to the Ultimate Trainers Academy. This naivety, combined with his babyish face, made him feel alienated from his classmates, who had unintentionally ignored his attempts to make friends. He became a quiet boy who only really spoke when spoken to. He had friends that he would hang out with, but he figured nobody considered him their best friend.

On his first day he chose a Pokémon from the breeding barn (as he had not owned one previously in Sandgem Town) to become his partner. It was a Natu that had been bred to specifics by a kind senior student. Because it was a female Pokémon and the senior wanted a male one, he was more than happy to give it to Jack. Jack was delighted, as the Natu had been born with a ground-type hidden power, which gave him the edge over certain types of Pokémon. He and the senior exchanged phone numbers but fell out of contact shortly thereafter. Over the coming years, Jack would form a strong bond with his partner (named Aether), helped especially by the fact that Aether's psychic ability enabled him to feel telepathically the same emotions his trainer felt felt.

Unlike other trainers, who would catch multiple Pokémon, Jack focused on training just his partner, putting all his time and effort into teaching it unorthodox moves and tactics. He would often catch peers by surprise in battle, winning many times over with a Pokémon that appeared extremely nonthreatening. The lack of physical strength in his Pokémon also forced Jack to develop numerous strategies to win battles, making him somewhat of a tactical mastermind when it comes to commanding Aether. The downside to only having a single Pokémon is that he has little hands-on experience with different Pokémon types and strategies, relying only on what he has learned through textbooks and UTA classes.

Pokémon

Species: Natu
Nickname: Aether
Personality: Focused when in battle, but out of battle he's usually pretty chirpy. Enjoys jumping and hopping about.
Level: 22
Moveset: Teleport, Psychic, Heat Wave, Giga Drain, Silver Wind, Hidden Power (ground)

Whoops, that's what you get for typing this up late at night xD It's meant to be OOC. Corrected now! Thanks for pointing that one out!

It means a maximum of Level 16 for each Pokemon you have. Hopefully people will be realistic and not have all the Pokemon level 16 but this only concerns Students and Teacher Trainers and Professors can bypass this rule.

For the movesets, I was just thinking you can have upto six moves and it's upto you if you want to fulfill it all but it's really what you think you would want for your Pokemon. I don't want to be too strict on that. (:

(( PLEASE PLEASE reserve a trainer spot for me!!!! I'm currently working on my SU and don't want to miss out - this looks brilliant!! :D

Just a question - in past academy roleplays I've made my character the sister of Gary Oak...would this be a problem in this one?? My character isn't Mary Sueish at all in case you were worrying I'd be some hotshot sister of a gym leader, like I said it's just a past character that I'd kind of like to get all nostalgic with and reprise!! But if not, then that isn't a problem either! =] ))

Name: Dixie Belle
Age: 17
Gender: Female
Type: Trainer Teacher
Hometown: Accumula Town

Appearance: Dixie Belle wears black all of the time. Her skin is covered everywhere, and she died her hair black to go with it. The black hair goes to her neck. Dixie Belle wears really large sunglasses on her extremely pale face, the only part a person would be able to see of her. The woman always carries a black pack on her back which contains things she would need like PokeBalls and her iPod Touch.

Personality: Dixie is a very obedient woman. She always respects any form of authority and will never go out of line in anyway. She is very well behaved. Along with that Dixie Belle is extremely quiet, except for her strange panting and dog barking. A negative trait that Dixie has is her anger at people and physical attacking of them. She gets angry at her peers when they do something bad or disobey, and she lunges at the person. Dixie also has a passion for learning. She loves to learn especially about animals and ecology.

Dixie loves to be outdoors. She loves animals, plants, life, and beautiful scenery of the outdoors. She hates the complexity of modern life and enjoys the simplicity of nature and no technology. The woman is also extremely serious and calm, most of the time. She is interested in biology, animals, plants, Pokemon, and not much else.

History: Dixie grew up in the Kanto region to a wealthy, secluded family who lived near Lavender Town. She was the oldest child of 4 and she lived with her father. Her mother mysteriously disappeared before Dixie was born. Dixie was raised and treated like a pet. She lived in a cage, was walked, was free of any clothing, and did other things a pet would do. Her father was a biologist and he stated that this was an experiment, and his daughter was the test subject.

The police caught on to this eventually. At the age of 14, Dixie was freed from her life as a pet. Her father was arrested and sentenced to a life in jail. Dixie moved to Isshu after being given all of her parents money. She lived in Accumula Town but did not stay there for long. She was a huge adventurer and could not wait to use that body she had been restricted in for 14 years. She had obtained a Pokemon from the police officer who arrested her cruel father. Dixie trained him and caught other Pokemon while exploring biology.

Dixie wanted to share her knowledge of ecology and biology, both of which she studied very in depth through her years as a trainer. So, she applied to the Ultimate Trainers Academy as a Teacher.

What level is the max for teacher trainer Pokemon?

Thank you for reserving! There isn't a maximum but just keep it realistic, okay? We don't want to see level 100 Pokemon because that's just god modding since nobody would be able to beat you. Development will happen during the roleplay. xD

Also, good start on your sign up but could you extend on your personality? The minimum is two paragraphs.

((Here's my SU! Just a question, can students only have one pokemon as their starter or can we have up to 3 too? How does that work?))

Name: Ashley Sharpay Oak
Age: 16
Gender: female
Type: Student
Hometown: Pallet Town, Kanto

Appearance: From the small village of Pallet Town, Ashley has quite tanned skin due to all the time spent on the small beach at the South of the town. She has long auburn-brown hair falling in large, soft curls to mid-waist, with side bangs that stick up slightly at the side of her head. No matter what she does she can’t seem to get it to stick down.

Her favourite feature is her eyes, large and dark brown, the eyebrows above them are quite thick and defined, however Ashley plucks them fanatically to keep them under control, and they frame her eyes nicely. She has quite a pointy nose – an unfortunate family trait – and her ears protrude from her head too far for her liking, which is why she keeps her hair down always. You won’t see Ashley with her hair up without some kind of eye-catching, bright, sparkly hairband or clip to distract from her ears.

She is naturally slim, a family trait also inherited by her brother Gary, and when it comes to dressing she is stylish but also likes to maintain practicality in her clothes. She generally wears denim skinny jeans, black leggings or a pair of denim or khaki shorts with tank tops and loose cardigans in summer or long, thick hoodies and scarves in winter. The one thing that MUST be practical about her dress, however, is her footwear. Flat sandals and pumps in summer and Uggs or military boots in winter – always active, Ashley MUST be able to run or cycle from place to place whenever the urge hits.

One thing she is never without, but also keeps hidden underneath whatever shirt she is wearing, is the green and yellow yin-yang pendant given to her by her brother when she began her pokemon journey. Ashley wears this pendant everywhere – when she sleeps, when she bathes, when she swims, always. It is her lucky charm, her family heirloom and she would rather lose a leg than her pendant.

Personality: Ashley is very much like her brother – she has the same stubborn, egotistical mannerisms. Once she gets an idea stuck in her mind, she will not be swayed from it no matter how many well-made arguments are put to her to try and convince her otherwise. She will follow through all her plans and ideas to their conclusion, no matter what the consequence is. Chalking it up to experience, Ashley will not wallow in self-pity or be held back by any negative experiences, she simply takes the lesson from it and moves on.

She is not arrogant, however, seeing a difference between sharing her achievements and good news with others and bragging about her accomplishments. She will never try to put herself above others, truly believing that all trainers and pokemon are equal, regardless of how different trainer records read.

Despite her failings, Ashley is a very honest, open person and a fiercely loyal friend. She would fight any fight for someone she loved, and would never betray them once she trusted them. She is very easy to make friends with and finds that she gets on well with strangers from all areas and of all ages, her natural curiosity about people makes it easy for her to begin and maintain conversations with people and to get to know them.
This is reflected in her relationships with pokemon, she dreams of meeting, catching and battling with as many different pokemon as she can physically encounter. She takes inspiration from her older brother and his travels and achievements for this, hoping one day to surpass him and become even more successful. (More detail on the relationship between Ashley and Gary to follow in the History section.)

History: Sleepy Pallet Town may not seem the ideal place for a young girl to grow up, based on the miniscule population and lack of peers of her own age to socialise with. However, Ashley would not have chosen to grow up anywhere else – after all, how many world-renowned trainers began their journeys at Oak’s lab?? Oh yeah, that’s right...Professor Oak is Ashley’s grandfather. And Gary Oak, one of said world-renowned trainers, is Ashley’s brother.

Gary is a major part of Ashley’s history, and her life in general. 3 years her senior, Ashley was 8 years old when Gary left to begin his pokemon adventure and even now, 8 years on, she could remember that day so vividly it was as though it was only yesterday. The heartbreak she felt outweighed the jealousy as Gary picked his Squirtle from their Grandfather and leapt into his bright red convertible among all the noise and excitement of the platoon of cheerleaders he’d taken along for the ride. She remembers how tears were welling up in her eyes as he drove off only for the car to stop as Gary leapt out, running over to her and hugging her tightly. He promised he’d be back soon, and with that he was gone.

Something broke in Ashley as she watched Gary cruise away, and she vowed that she wouldn’t leave home the same way he did. She would carry out an apprenticeship under her grandfather and meet pokemon that way, she would learn all about exotic, rare pokemon under one of the greatest authorities on pokemon in the world.

However, the years passed and although Ashley loved shadowing her grandfather she found that she, like Gary, yearned to get out into the world on her own volition, travel and meet different pokemon. This was made certain when Gary returned from his adventures one day to surprise Ashley at the lab, showing her how strong his Squirtle had become and how it had evolved, showing her the other pokemon he’d caught and met and regaling her with tales of far off lands and the people who lived there. She couldn’t help but feel as though she was living in Gary’s shadow, that she couldn’t quite make her own name in the world, that she would always be known as ‘Gary’s little sister.’

After Gary left, Ashley just knew she needed to get out into the world. She was 15 and hadn’t seen anything near like what her brother had seen. Her Grandfather saw this feeling deepen and deepen inside of Ashley until one day she received an acceptance slip from the Ultimate Trainer Academy, which was based in a whole new region called Sinnoh. Confused by this, she sought the council of her Grandfather, who revealed that he had submitted an application form in her name, detailing all she had done under his tutelage.

Elated, Ashley ran straight home and began packing, surprised when she heard a cough at her bedroom door and saw Gary, taller and more handsome but still the same as he was 7 years ago to her, lounging against her doorframe. He smiled gently at her and walked over, taking her hands in his. He told her how proud he was of her, and how she was destined to become an even better trainer than he was. He removed his yellow and green Yin-Yang pendant from around his neck and draped it over Ashley’s head, saying it was her turn now. Ashley hugged him and she just knew, that in her time at the Ultimate Trainer Academy would allow her to finally break free of the shadow of Gary that she had lived under for so many years.

((Here's my SU! Just a question, can students only have one pokemon as their starter or can we have up to 3 too? How does that work?))
They can have upto three before/after enrolling. It's really how much you want to start off with and if you want to be given a starter by the school.

Have you completed your SU now or would you like me to wait for you to add more Pokemon? c:

Are student trainers allowed their own Pokemon before they enter the academy or do they get not get their own until after they enter? I just want to make sure before I finish my SU. :)
Yes, they are but they'll also be given the option of gaining a starter (from any region) upon enrolling.

It means a maximum of Level 16 for each Pokemon you have. Hopefully people will be realistic and not have all the Pokemon level 16 but this only concerns Students and Teacher Trainers and Professors can bypass this rule.
Can civilians bypass the student rule? He's not a student, would say.. level 22 be a realistic level?

(All right, here it is. Sorry for the wait. Any unusual moves are egg moves bred from having the same species of a father and was not specifically bred in. And that part was changed. Len won't notice. He wants a Pidgey.)

Name: Len Editon
Age: 10
Gender: Male
Type: Student
Hometown:Celestic Town, Sinnoh

Appearance: Len looks slightly younger than ten, due to his wide blue eyes reminiscent of a deer. He is roughly four feet tall and slightly underweight. He has the build of a young track and field athlete, rather used to long journeys He has short, jet black hair that without the gel in it flops all over his face. So it's normally spiked a little bit. His blue eyes have shades of grey in them. Len's skin is tan from his long stays outdoors. Along one arm is a jagged mark, a really strange birthmark. It's less obvious that the fading scars all over his body. His top is a blue shirt with a red vertical stripe down the left side and a black lightning bolt down the middle. His pants are black and slight baggy jeans with a black belt tied in the loops. His shoes are grey sneakers with a Pokeball symbol on the sole. Nestled in his spikes in a pair of grey goggles.

Personality: Len is a mysterious, social human being with some eccentricities. He is very mature for someone of his age, possibly from growing up mostly around the elderly. He has a great interest in archaeology but it never manifests more than with tools, songs, and stories. He wears a friendly smile and is rather quiet. Len loves the flute he carries with him and cares for it almost religiously. He is relatively good at interacting with others but he doesn't actively search for friends, mostly because at home he barely had to. He's been raised to care for all people, even if they hate him, so his ability at holding a grudge is next to zero. His easily forgiving and helpful behavior causes him to sometimes appear very gullible. Though whether he is is up for debate. Len can be very perceptive; he just doesn't like showing it.

Len plays his flute whenever and wherever he can and is very good at it. He mostly plays for Pokemon but humans are attracted to it as well. He believes that those who like the sound of music are unable to be truly "bad". Because Pokemon are around him more, tame or wild, he's learned a lot about them and has a natural ability to calm them down. Like them he is very showing of his emotions. Len is a vegetarian but holds no real issues over those who aren't. He's also a bit too imaginative and follows his instincts. Those who strategize won't like him too much. But his instincts have gotten him into trouble.

History: Len was born in Celestic Town, a town with few actual children. Len was acquainted with Cynthia in passing, having snuck into her digs and seen her every now and again as a citizen. He gets along better with her younger sister. Since there weren't many kids, the few there were grew very close. His father was off on a training journey people said but Len didn't quite believe that. His mother was also out of town, working to pay the bills and money was sent through the PC. She returned as often as she could but he would still miss her very often. She is the one who gave him his flute. So instead of being raised by his parents, he grew up under the guidance of his grandmother.

Len's mother gave him his first flute when he was five and his grandmother taught him how to play. There was no school in Celestic so children had to teach themselves and each other the basics. Since Cynthia was hardly there, she could rarely give lectures to them. He would go into the Celestic Ruins to look around with Cynthia's sister. When he was six, his mother came home with a Shinx, who did not like his mother much. Riolu however was found in an accident a year later. He was causing havoc on the nearby routes and Len ended up finding him tangled in a bridge. Confused, he pulled him out and fixed him up, not knowing who the Riolu actually was. He never found out, as the Pokemon decided to stay here.

One day, when he was eight, he went alone and discovered a rare treasure: a strange-looking instrument. He hid it from the others, realizing it could be important. However, treasure hunters came into town not long after. He didn't want to give it to them, especially when Team Galactic remnants were known to be hanging around. So he ran off to hide it in Mt Coronet, not quite sure why he was taking it there. In the middle of the way up, he ran into an Absol, who attacked him violently due to what he carried. Not knowing got lost in the mountain. He almost released his Pokemon but before he could the Absol found him again.

Len was nearly killed by the Absol until he threw the artifact away. Absol took it and hid it and nearly left Len there to die. But for some reason he brought him out to his grandmother and stayed. Absol nearly snuck out after he recovered but Lei and Rico kept him there, saying he had to take responsibility for what he had done. Len scolded them later, trying to let Absol leave. He had forgiven him already, which, almost everybody but his grandmother didn't understand. But that was Len's nature and it wouldn't be changed. Absol felt guilty and remained where he was. Len didn't understand. Even now, he still doesn't and released him not long after, thinking he wasn't happy.

Pokémon:

Species: Riolu
Nickname: Rico
Personality: Rico is energetic and playful, a constantly exercising machine. He runs around everywhere and is bouncy. He loves battles and will run into fights he's not supposed to. He hates to lose and will get up long after others will fall over. Rico is speedy and will frequently chase Len everywhere. The only times he stays still are when Len plays or when he's sleeping, and the second one's debatable.
Level:12
Moveset: Quick Attack, Force Palm, Endure, Counter

Species: Shinx
Nickname: Lei
Personality: Lei is an affectionate girl, and initially not a fighter. But she kind of feels bad for Len and wants to get him out of being used, but sometimes makes a fool of herself. Despite it, she still gets up to fight.
Level: 13
Moveset: Tackle, Charge, Thunder Fang, Bite
"Perhaps I misjudged you after all."

I have a question! :3 Will we be allowed to catch more pokemon once the RP begins?

Name: Lira Lyeodmar
Age: 14
Gender: Female
Type: Student
Hometown: Sandgem Town

Appearance: Lira has a lean and sturdy build and is quite tough for a girl - she's definitely not the kind to shatter at the sight of a steep hill or a rocky cliff. She has long, silky back hair that falls just past her shoulders. She does not have bangs and her hair falls just around her face. She has exquisite sage green eyes and lightly tanned skin. Usually, she is seen in a simple pale or dark full-colored t-shirt underneath a dark hoodie, and in jeans or loose yoga pants and sneakers. She wears no make up and is clearly not one who is interested in fashion - she wears what she feels comfortable traveling in. She is quite fit and healthy from moving around so often when she trains her pokemon. As a whole, she is rather plain-looking and is not particularly beautiful or appealing. Her face is usually calm and composed in a serene or unruffled expression, and her posture is relaxed and carefree. Occasionally she can be seen wearing her hair up in a pony-tail - she usually ties her hair back before a battle or particularly difficult challenge.

Personality: Calm and enigmatic, Lira has dozens of personas to display to the world. Hardly anyone knows who she really is, as she acts so differently around different people. To most acquaintances and unfamiliars, she is very calm, composed and aloof with an almost distant demeanor. She can also be quite sharp-tongued, cynical or sarcastic, and generally doesn't give you the image of a usual 'soft and squeamish girl'. She marches to the beat of her own drum and doesn't mind to stand out from a crowd. She is always hard to ruffle and anger no matter what, but once someone crosses the line, she can respond with a ferocious temper. Although Lira is not the outgoing kind to brag and boast, she can also be quite proud. This often leads to her refusing to ask for or accept help even when she needs it, and she hates to be humiliated or fail to do something correctly.

However, her hard outer image masks her softer core. To those that know her well, she also has a gentle, sympathetic and understanding side, and is always a shoulder to cry on for her friends when they need her. She can be a tower of strength in a crisis, and can be very determined and unwavering when she sets her heart to something. She can also have a stubborn streak. Because of her enigmatic personality, she is often misunderstood or misjudged by others. Despite the fact that it doesn't appear so, Lira is very alert and aware of her surroundings, highly observant, analytical and an open-minded thinker. She has a unique ability of being able to view the world from others perspectives as well as her own. Lira also has a sly, cunning side. She can be very deceptive, often saying things that have more meaning than one would think, and is excellent at concealing her emotions and lying. However, Lira will not use these abilities without good reason, and is kind at heart.

History: Lira grew up in the quiet town of Sandgem with her mother, father and younger brother. Her life was relatively plain and simple... until her aunt fell ill. She was ten at the time, and after that, her one or both parents were often absent from the house to help look after her aunt. Because of this, Lira often felt resentful, lonesome and abandoned, having to live with a hired care-taker day after day. Because of this, she became cool and distant, rarely letting her true feelings to show through, as she didn't like having to consult a stranger over her parents with her problems and whatnot. However, her one solace was her aunt's pokemon, which she had entrusted in Lira's family's care for the duration of her illness. At first, Lira felt reproachful of having to look after someone else's pokemon, but as she gradually began to bond with them, she came to understand the friendship between a pokemon and its trainer. After that, she became intrigued with the idea of becoming a pokemon trainer, and decided to aspire to become one when her parents allowed her a chance to leave. Because they were away so much, Lira didn't have much of a chance to discuss her ideas with her parents.

However, one day while she was taking her aunt's pokemon out on a walk, she discovered an abandoned Piplup in a damp patch of leaves. Although it was quite sick and injured, Lira took it home with her and nursed it back to health with medicine she purchased from the local Pokemon Center and Pokemart. Up till then, she hadn't had a real chance to be able to embark on her own journey to become a trainer. However, once the Piplup had recovered, she discussed her plans with her parents, and at last they consented to let her sign up for The Ultimate Trainer's Academy so that she could learn to train her Piplup to its best.

Pokémon:

Species: Piplup
Nickname: Splash
Personality: Splash is a surprisingly stern and serious pokemon. He can seem rather aloof at a glance, and isn't exactly friendly either. He's the kind of pokemon that takes time to adjust to you and trust you. He is also rather independent, although he trusts Lira. Splash is also strong-willed and determined, and will never give up when he sets his heart to something. He can even border being stubborn when he's determined to do something. Like any Piplup, he's proud and hates accepting help from others or looking foolish. Despite his seemingly cold and aloof exterior, Splash is a warm and loving pokemon on the inside. He is always loyal and reliable to his friends and trainer. However, he reserves his true devotion to his trainer alone, and only displays any warmth or affection for her when alone with her.

Ace loves Pokemon Battles, he will always accept the challenges with his Pokemon - Sparky the Pikachu. They are always the first one's who are going to fight. When Ace was 15 years old, in his birthday, his cousin, Volkner the Gym Leader gave him a baby Pichu as a present, Pichu was Ace's first ever Pokemon, Ace named him Sparky. He and Sparky were a very great partners, they were a very very close friends too.

Ace was battling his cousin, Gym Leader Volkner alot, but Ace was always losing, but Ace knew that the most important thing is to earn expierence. Volkner knew it too, so he recommended Ace and Sparky to go to Crown City's Pokemon Ultimate Trainers Academy. Few weeks later, Volkner was on his way to Crown City's Pokemon Ultimate Trainers Academy to sign up Ace, so he could study and battle there.

Few months later, in a rainy day, Ace was training his Sparky, Sparky was so happy with Ace, so he suddenly evolved into a Pikachu. Ace was very excited and happy at the same time. Same day he got an invitation to Pokemon Ultimate Trainers Academy, so he left his Mother and Father, Brother and Sister, and he was on his way to Pokemon Ultimate Trainers Academy.
