Intro

Welcome to the Hoenn Region, a vast tropical land, filled to the brim with exotic locations and boundless oceans. This beautiful region, created by the legendary pokémon, Groudon and Kyogre, is a treasure trove of fun and adventure just waiting for eager pokémon trainers to explore its riches.

It has been exactly fifteen years, since the legendary trainer May thwarted the nefarious schemes of Teams Aqua and Magma, which threatened the entire pokémon world. She has since been hailed as one of the greatest trainers the region had ever seen and thrived in her role as the Poké-League champion. However she has mysteriously gone missing for the past year, leaving Elite Four member, Winona, to take her place.

Regardless of league matters, Hoenn is as prosperous as it has ever been. Today marks a special day in which a number of aspiring trainers in Rustboro City are to receive their starter pokémon... including you! The leading pokémon researcher of the region, Professor Roxanne, has promised to entrust you with a pokémon and a pokédex in return for your participation in her studies. With your starter in hand, and an entire world to explore, who knows what sort of experiences are waiting in store for you out there?

Are you ready? Your very own adventure is about to unfold! Be courageous and leap into the world of pokémon where dreams, adventures, and friendships await!​

The Workings

It's been 15 years since the events of Emerald (NOT ORAS). As stated before, the pokémon champion, May, has gone missing for quite some time. Gym Leaders have come and gone with the years, technology has advanced and with it towns and cities have blossomed. Gym Leaders will, for the most part, be original NPC characters, controlled by the GM. However, you'll see a number of familiar faces around the RP :3

For the sake of not making things a pain, there will be no levels or IV/EV system. The RP will take a very anime-style approach on pokémon. Since there are no levels, the Pokemon can earn new moves whenever the roleplayer sees fit, but please be reasonable about this. Also, since there are no levels, pokémon evolution is one of the few things that must be checked for approval with the GMs. PM me first before making your pokémon evolve.

The diversity of Pokémon in Hoenn has changed dramatically over the passing years with the growing popularity of pokémon training. The release of pokémon throughout the region and daycare center have introduced different species into the ecosystems of Hoenn, making the fauna the most diverse it has ever been. Basically, there will be pokémon from all the regions available during this rp, not just the ones native to Hoenn.

You do not need the GM's approval to capture wild pokémon. However, while there may be exceptions, for the most part you are limited to catching one pokémon per route. You can go ahead and capture any pokémon in the given area that you want. Just try and be reasonable with it (making a long detailed post if the captured pokemon is rather rare or hard to catch) Available wild Pokémon, and their attacks will be in the chapter description.

This roleplay will be broken up into a multitude of chapters. Each one will have a number of different events that you may choose from, each event warranting a reward for its completion. However, there will be an overarching story that may take the place of these events. All the chapters will also have a main objective that you much complete by the end, such as making it to a certain town.

The RP will be accepting characters on a "first come-first serve" basis with a limited number of spots. Right now i'm thinking around 9, but that number may expand depending upon interest. However, because of this I will be judging a little harsher than other journey rps may be. If I don't accept your character at first, it's nothing personal and I will work with you in expanding upon your application if you'd like. :D

The starter pokémon that your character receives is up to you! As long as it is a base pokemon with at least one evolution, you're good to go. Also note that you may not have the same starter as any other players. If you submit an SU with the same pokémon as another player who has yet to be accepted, it will be considered a competition and I will accept whichever character I believe to be a better fit for the RP. If this ever happens you could just switch your pokémon to a different one :p

Each starter will start off knowing four moves with a maximum of six learned at any one time. The starters may come knowing a single egg move of your choice. They may also have an ability of your choosing from the list of abilities that they can have naturally.​

Varianna "Vivi" Sochi • 17 • Female​


Appearance:
Records reveal her height to be 5'2" and weight a healthy 125 pounds. Dental records say she owns metal braces to a set of gleaming white teeth. Both chin-length hair and bangs frame her round face, dyed a pearly purple shade, but abruptly transform into shoulder length on the posterior part of her head. This is normally tied up into high pigtails. But were one to let time do its wonders, they find that the dye washes off into a glossy black headfull of hair. It is this true hair color that matches well with her ocean blue eyes.

With her light beige skin Vivi prefers to sport darker clothes. Dresses and skirts fill her wardrobe, pairing well with her boots and stockings. However, it is due to this attire that rare is it the soul who catches a glimpse of her black and white rose clock tattoo etched on the upper portion of her back. She keeps the significance of the time chosen on the clock a secret.

For a bag Vivi has chosen a pearly purple sling bag with a black strap. Pins adorn the strap that presses firmly against her chest. Pokéball can be attached to the lower part of the strap, to her right side.​

Goals and Interests:
From a young age Vivi demonstrated an interest in the creepy crawlers and took up on bug catching. This evolved into a fascination in the Pokémon type, instilling a sense of hunting for the critters. A check list had been made with every bug type known to mankind for her to refer back to. With this, as well as her desire to travel, further fuels her ambition of being a bug type master.​


Strengths:
The glass is half empty, but maybe some rain will come by and fill up.

She views the world with a sense of hope and childish wonder. Despite being a realist, she attempts to make it as worthwhile and fun as she can. Life is too short to spend it focusing on the bad when the good is just around the corner. Aiding this type of thinking is her boundless amounts of energy that allow her to pull off what she does. Furthermore, Varianna is blessed with holding a strong desire to succeed. Ambition. With it she displays patience and persistence.​


Weaknesses:
Like any other, Vivi is no stranger to flaws. She is fully aware of them, yet has found no reason to change them.

With her ambition comes the ocassional instance of a selfish woman, lacking consideration for others. Despite this, Vivi can become clingy and a victim of jealousy. These traits are worsened due to her strong emotions and playful attitude that can turn cynical.

And yet. Regardless of how she may feel or hurt, Varianna is a secretive individual. She keeps to herself, whether true intentions or feelings, as to avoid feeling exposed and vulnerable.​


Brief History:
Vivi hails from Fortree City, the only child belonging to a workaholic nurse and slothful stay-at-home father. Due to her mother constantly working two shifts, Vivi depended on her father. Unfortunately he only gave minimal effort in raising a child, yet the house Pokémon, Kecleon, became rather fond of the toddler. This adoration led to Kecleon watching over the human throughout her childhood. Together they would play and go on bug watching expeditions. Because of the lack of parental restriction, and the limitations a Pokémon had raising a human, Varianna was raised with a generous amount of freedom at her disposal.

At the age of 10, Vivi witnessed her parents abruptly divorce. Their arguments were kept locked behind closed doors, preventing Vivi from understanding why it led to the way it ended. To her it was abrupt. Mrs. Sochi left Vivi in Mr. Sochi's care, but this exposed the child to a man who spiralled down a life of drunken fits and sleep. If he barely gave her any attention or time of day before, much less now. Kecleon and friends became her haven. Adapting was all she could do, and so she did. Despite this Vivi kept a smile plastered on her face, however fake it may have seemed, for the sake of saving her father some more worry and trouble.

The years preceding didn't carry anything significant. In that time she took up on acrobatics and took out her stress on it, pushing the limits to ease herself. Bugs began to mean more than mere collectibles; companions that help. Thus, from then on she studied the bug Pokémon.​

Appearance:
Trent stands at 5'9" and is covered in pale, white skin. He has short, midnight black hair that contrast with his lime-colored eyes. For someone his height, he has pretty long legs, which may be why he is as tall as he is considering both of his parents are rather short. His smile is accompanied by near perfect set of teeth that could "light up a room", or so he's been told. The teenager prefers to wear a combination of white and green to go along with his eyes, but unlike what he's wearing in his picture, he's usually seen in a button-down shirt and shorts. For more important matters, he'll bring out a black jacket and green tie to wear over his body. His bag of choice is a white messenger bag, capable of carrying what any trainer needs on their adventure.​

Goals and Interests:
Trent wants to become strong enough to surpass his father, who chose being a trainer over spending time with his child. He understands that he has a long way to go and will use this journey as a way to improve. He hopes that, perhaps, he and his father will cross paths at some point, and by then, he'll be strong enough to face him and any other challenges that stand in his way.​

Strengths:
Trent has a lot of energy, almost to the point of being hyperactive. He's able to keep it under control, but what this usually means is that he has a lot of stamina and is friendlier than his usual expression shows. Most of the time, he's dying for someone to say something to him and can't stand silence between people. He can also be quite charming and persuasive if he needs to be, but he prefers not to be that way. Trent isn't very judgmental of others, so he can be easy to talk to sometimes.​

Weaknesses:
He's quite impulsive, if something isn't done immediately, often he'll just do it himself, which has the side effect of causing issues. If patience is a virtue, it's certainly not one that Trent was blessed with. He has a habit of taking any negative remark made towards him personally, and finds himself holding grudges very often. All that energy often leads to sleepless nights, too, so sometimes he's too tired in mornings to perform properly. His hasty nature is a huge part of why his Pokemon battling skills leave a lot to be desired.​

Brief History:
For pretty much all his life, Trent has lived with his grandparents—who are day care providers--in the rustic Rustboro City. While both of his parents were still alive, they both had dreams of their own that they decided that despite having a child they wouldn't give up: Trent's mother was a figure involved in overseeing rocket launches at the Mossdeep Space Center, and his father was a fine, strong trainer in her own right. Thus Trent was sent back from his true hometown of Mossdeep City to the mainland to live with his grandparents. As a child, Trent could never sit still, and always had to be doing something. Often after school ended he'd take his grandparents Pokemon—a Plusle and a Minun—and get into battles in the grassy areas surrounding Rustboro. Of course, his inexperience with being a Pokemon Trainer and the fact that those weren't his Pokemon more often than not lead to a loss. Trent didn't care though—he genuinely enjoyed the excitement of battling and most of all being around the Pokemon. It was certainly worth the scolding he received from his grandma when he came back home with the exhausted and beaten up Plusle and Minun.

As Trent got older, the boy changed a lot, mellowing a little out and learning how to manage his constant, infinite energy. By now, Trent was only expected to help out with his grandparents's day-care service, other than that, he could do as he pleased. In his freetime when he wasn't helping out at the day-care or taking classes he began hanging out at the Rustboro Gym to watch the battles that happen there, but without a Pokemon of his own, he couldn't take on the gym leader. Over time, the boy grew jealous of those who were able to set off on journeys. How exciting would it be to just take off with Pokemon on a lap around Hoenn? He'd finally be able to visit all those places that he only read of in books. He had tried catching a Pokemon of his own before but wasn't particularly successful in doing so. It became increasingly clear to him that being a city boy wasn't his destiny as the blood of a Trainer boiled in his veins...​

Other details:
- Trent is deathly afraid of bug-type Pokemon, especially spiderlike ones. Seeing a spiderlike Pokemon is enough to paralyze him for quite some time.
- May have ADHD (see: does have ADHD)
- He's actually really good at cooking but simply doesn't see becoming a chef or the like as the thing for him.​

Appearance

Naomi stands at a height of 5'9". She sports a somewhat slender body build, with traces of lean muscle toning her body. While her hair is naturally a light blonde, Naomi prefers to keep her hair dyed a vibrant, crimson-red. She tends to keep her hair down past her shoulders, however the girl likes to pull it up into a rather messy, lopsided ponytail more often than not. Her bright hair color is offset by her pale, sapphire-blue eyes. Despite living in Hoenn for her entire life, Naomi sports a rather pale skin complexion. This can most likely be chalked up to her habit of spending most of her time outside during the middle of the night as opposed to during the daytime. In terms of clothing, Naomi prefers to dress in a more... "rebellious" style. As opposed to wearing skirts and heels, Naomi is more comfortable wearing shorts and her beloved pair of black, combat-styled boots. She usually offsets these by wearing various tank tops in dark colors such as black and purple and t-shirts featuring the logos of her favorite bands, such as the Rotting Duskulls. Naomi sports several piercings, including a navel ring and two studs in both of her ears. She also has a heart-shaped tattoo on her abdomen. She keeps all of her training tools in a backpack that tends to resemble a Mudkip.​

Strengths

​
Naomi is an extremely determined individual. Once she sets her mind to something, it is almost impossible for the girl to be deterred or talked out of it. She is more than willing to go through anything necessary in order to complete the goals she sets out for herself, doing everything in her power to see things through to the end. Naomi is an extremely courageous girl. Very little ever seems to really startle or make her hesitate, making her a steadfast pillar of sorts when being forced to stare down rather insurmountable odds. In regards to her brother and other things she may care about, Naomi is a very dedicated individual. She is extremely willing to go above and beyond to do what she can for those she feels a bond with, putting their needs far above her own.​

Weaknesses

Naomi tends to keep to herself in most situations, being extremely slow and hesitant to trust those around her. This causes her to come off as being very rough around the edges, to which many people would be right in their assumptions of this. She is quite impulsive, often acting without really thinking things through in an attempt to complete her goals as quickly as possible. The girl also tends to be quite physical, often resorting to physical conflict as opposed to merely talking things through. To top it all off, she is not afraid to break the law when needed to complete any objective she has. Naomi is unfortunately a bit of a chain smoker as well, rarely managing to go for more than hour or two before needing a cigarette.​

Goals And Interests

Naomi's goal is to reunite with her younger brother of eight years old, Charlie. The two were separated when their mother passed away, with Charlie being placed into foster care due to Naomi's inability to provide adequately for him. While she took the job with Professor Roxanne in order start saving money, Naomi's true goal is to raise a strong Pokémon team and conquer the league in order to make a proper living for herself and in turn have Charlie returned to her side.​

History

​
Naomi was born the oldest of two siblings, the other being her younger brother Charlie. The two were born and raised in Mauville City by their single mother, Claire, who spent most of her time working in the city as a waitress inside of its busy restaurant. Because of the fact that she was a single mother, Claire more often than not spent all of her time working. This caused the two children to be raised more or less on their own as a result. Naomi, being a good ten years older than her younger brother, was often left to fend for him. She was often the one who cooked for Charlie, gave him baths, and helped him with his homework when he became old enough to attend school. Due to how busy she was with raising Charlie, Naomi ended up dropping out of school herself shortly after she turned sixteen in order to be able to be more present in his life during the more crucial years of his life.

Despite the fact that the family never really had much money, they were quite happy to at least have each other. However, things weren't always sunshine and rainbows for them. Claire's job was not enough for the family to truly live comfortably and the woman would often have to do without in order to make sure that her children could have something to eat or have crucial things for life such as water or electricity. While Charlie was oblivious to this due to his young age, Naomi was more keen to the sacrifices her mother was making. This caused the teenager to spend her time while Charlie was in school and her mother at work out and about in Mauville, often doing less than honorable tasks in order to scrounge up enough money. Naomi didn't exactly leave a clean trail, however.

The girl's actions soon were soon caught in the wind by the Mauville authorities, causing Naomi to earn quite a reputation and a criminal record. This in turn caused a rift to form between Naomi and her mother. The two would often be at each other's throats, with Naomi stating that she was simply trying to help Charlie and her mother the best way she knew how. Eventually, the stress revolving around their lifestyle, combined with little to no rest, Naomi's actions, and Charlie's dependence on her caused Claire to reach a breaking point. The woman ended up taking her own life shortly after Charlie turned eight years old, leaving both the boy and his older sister completely alone. Naturally, Naomi didn't really have a way to take care of the boy on her own. He was put into protective custody and put into foster care as a result, much to his own and Naomi's protests. Naomi swore that she would do whatever it took to get Charlie, her only family, back.​

Goals and Interests: Ever since he visited Johto's Ecruteak City as a child, Itsuku has wanted to travel the world. This interest has been a driving force throughout his life to excell in school and he often spends his free time looking at maps and travel sites, waiting for the day when he could set off on his journey.

Goals and Interests​
Blaire is certain that it's her calling to become the Hoenn champion. From a young age, she had a natural aptitude to befriending and battling with pokemon. At first, she thought she was lucky to experience a chance encounter with the long reigning regional champion May, that is, until that interaction inspired the beginning of her current winning streak as trainer. It couldnt have been luck. It was her destiny. It still is. She's destined to be the one that finally defeats May after so long.

Strengths​

+ Dilligent​
They say all work and no play, makes Blaire a dull girl. No, they really do say that. The girl has a reputation for being a strict no nonsense, studious worker with an industrious spirit. She refuses to make time for fun and games. Though, the reputation hardly seems to faze her. Blaire would much rather be dull than be a failure. She's unrelenting in chasing her goals, which more often than not, leads to her success.

+ Well Organised​
Alongside her conscientious attitude towards life, Blaire's intelligent and meticulous organisation has always been a key factor in her achievements. 'Trusting her gut' is just about the least Blaire thing she could ever do, since before she does anything, the research would have already been done, thoroughly. She risks very little and leaves nothing to chance in any endeavour she approaches. No doubt her journey will have been started with 20+ pokeballs, enough money to buy her own home and a reservation at just about every hotel in every town and city in Hoenn.

+ Resolute​
In order to be as committed to hard work as she is, Blaire has to be as stubborn as a mudbray. A million times and more. It's one of her greatest strengths though. Blaire's faith in her goals is unwaveringly absolute. She's certain it's her destiny to defeat May, and while many have told her she's crazy, she keeps going. If her word goes into a cause, you can be sure she'll be steadfast in a her presence and dedication to the completion of whatever it is she embarks on.

+ Vigilant​
Blaire has an eye for detail. She's quick to notice the faintest loose hair, the tiniest of gestures and the most sporadic of patterns. It helps her a lot in social interactions. She's adept at reading body language. More importantly to her though, it helps her in battle. Her knack for recognising her opponents mannerisms and idiosyncrasies has allowed her to develop an acute sense of strategy in formulating counter measures.

Weaknesses​

- Self-Righteous​
Blaire is convinced of her destiny. Anyone whose aspirations or goals intercept the vision she has for herself is simply a blind, self destructive fool who is in for a rude enlightenment. She has no time for time wasters, deadeats, cheaters or even the enablers that allow all these people to get away with their mediocrity. As someone who works hard, she will never allow herself to even be seen as equal to those guilty of disingenuous habits and behaviour.

- Discourteous​
While her impatience can often be forgiven, it's her acts of venomous malice that people often take issue with. Growing up very well off, Blaire is very familiar with a life of luxury; she been waited on and pampered her entire life. She expects a similar standard of reverence in any regular interaction. Those that dont show her that level admiration are often dismissed as fools or imbeciles and treated as such. Blaire is not above spiteful bullying, as many victims have found out the hard way.

- OCD​
Surely it cant be too much to ask to want things to be clean. Well...Blaire is very particular about her definition of 'clean'. She means, absolutely spotless. Camping? Not in a million years unless her tent is disinfected and isolated from any disgusting bug type pokemon in the vicinity. While not crippling chronic, a simple misplaced item in her bag or loose thread on her jacket can drive Blaire absolutely crazy. You can be certain she'll be tidying up before she'll stay anywhere.

- Tunnel Vision​
Sure, she's vigilant, but if nothing is instantly eye catching or useful about whatever she's looking at, Blaire will be quick to dismiss it. She's particularly uncreative as she never feels the needs the need to be. She rarely thinks outside the box or looks beyond the surface. Does that make her shallow? Probably, but that's not something she really concerns herself with. She doesnt have time to look back, and it's often at her own detriment more than anyone elses.

Background​
Blaire has never considered herself 'just an ordinary girl', and in the eyes of many, she never was. She was pampered by her adoring parents, prioritised by anyone who worked under them and put on a pedestal by both her friends and envious enemies. Her parents always expected that she's take after Lisia, the local contest hero, and become an extraordinaire. That was never the life for Blaire. She was graceful, elegant, sure, but she never considered herself ostentatious or glamorous. The flamboyance of a contest never appealed to her. She was pragmatic, refined and efficient. She had no time for such nonsense.

Instead, she took to battling. She believed she was exceptional at it. She took on local trainers, schooling everyone that wasnt already on their way to being elite. Her parents supported it in every way they could. The would always get ahold of rare foreign pokemon that others could only dream of. She doesnt know how, and she doesnt care.

She was never the best battler though. She was very good, but her record was patchy at best. After her first few years, she began to stagnate in her progress. Things got so bad, she even started to go on something of a losing streak.

Home life wasnt perfect at that time. Her father's boating company started taking hits. Her mother was becoming more and more distant. Blaire just couldnt piece it all together. Things werent going her way anymore, and she couldnt figure out why.

One day, in the midst of her father's sabotage issues, she found herself attacked by a man in a suit. While her Mawile did it's absolute best to protect her, it was quickly dispatched by the senior trainer and his Krookodile. Before he could kidnap her though, the man was intercepted, by none other than the Hoenn region champion, May.

Blaire was inspired, and from that moment, she aspired to reach the level of the champion. One further than that, she aspires to defeat the champion herself.

At 5' 10" and 280 lbs., Wilfred is a big guy. He may look chubby, but there's muscle underneath that padding, especially in the arms. He has light brown skin, dark brown hair, and eyes a shade of brown somewhere between the two. He has a big head, a pleasant smile, and an overall friendly look to him. He has a small, square pair of glasses, dresses in loose, comfortable clothes, and is usually wearing a gray hoodie and his Great Ball-patterned headphones.

Goals and Interests: Growing up on a farm, Wilfred always wanted to work with food, ideally as a baker, but he'd love any job that let him cook. He's always on the lookout for new foods to try or new recipes to make. He also enjoys listening to music, but he's not a good singer and is too shy to ever do anything musical, except maybe karaoke. Another hobby is magic, but he only knows a few card tricks right now.

Strengths: Wilfred is easygoing and generally laid-back, not getting stressed or bothered easily. He likes to make others happy, and is always willing to lend a hand to help, an ear to listen, or a shoulder to lean on. He makes friends easily, and never leaves his friends hanging.

Weaknesses: Wilfred generally doesn't like to fight, so he's usually not great at Pokemon tournaments. But even he has his limits, and loses his temper when people are cruel, or when they endanger themselves or others. He knows a hard truth is better than an easy lie, so he doesn't sugarcoat anything that he thinks people need to hear. Given his usual demeanor, it's not always easy for him to get serious, and some only see him as an attention-seeker, and on some level they're right.

Brief History: Wilfred grew up on a farm, specifically a Berry farm on Route 123. The Berry Master had four grandchildren, but only his oldest, Wilfred's mother, stayed to work the family business, while the other three opened a flower shop. Farm life was difficult for young Wilfred. It was hard work, with long hours and no time for fun, but he got to be with family who cared, and after a long day, there was good food and warm atmosphere to relax in. Even at a young age, he knew he wasn't going to be a farmer, so when he was ten, he decided to head out to Lilycove City, to live with an uncle.

Being a port city, Lilycove was full of new sights and smells, with something new coming in every week. It was here that he learned of his love for food, and he started taking classes, eventually getting an apprenticeship at the Bountiful Bounsweet Sweets Shop. With the Contest Hall nearby, he learned there was more to Pokemon than just helping with work (or battling), but he has no plans of being a professional Contestant. He just enjoys making treats such as Pokeblocks, Poffins, and Pokepuffs. Having completed his apprenticeship, he wants to travel the country, seeing what new flavors (and new Pokemon) he can find along the way. After all, he may not plan to be a professional Pokemon Trainer, but it is still the national pastime.

sorry for the double post, but this is Alyssa, the playable npc. she is also a beginning trainer, starting her journey alongside all of your characters. she's going to be playing a role in the overarching plot of the rp and i will occasionally posting as her, but she's not my character in the regular sense. all that being said, she will generally function as a rival for all of your chars. feel free to use her in posts and such unless she's involved w one of the missions in an area or another player is using her at the same time.

Appearance: Standing at five-foot-ten, Alyssa is well above the average height of other young women. This paired with her long slender figure gives her the body type typical of a model. She may look delicate, but hours spent working out has provided her a deceptive strength that many wouldn't suspect. Her pale, unblemished skin gives her pearly white smile an extra glow that has entranced many of her peers. While she's a natural blonde, she recently decided to dye her shoulder-length hair black, but still leaving a streak of her original color behind in her hair.

As is common with someone who loves style, there is a wide assortment of clothing that makes up the young woman's wardrobe. It ranges from sporty to more chic, but her favorite outfit consists of light wash overalls, worn over a longsleeve white shirt, finished off with some hightop white sneakers. To her it expresses a recent modern twist on an old fashioned article of clothing, which she finds to be quite a statement.

Personality: Charismatic and kind, Alyssa seems to be without flaw to most people that meet her. Always able to strike up a conversation with even the most awkward of people, she's been a social butterfly since the day of her birth. And it's not as if she approaches interactions with any ulterior motives. She's just a kindhearted and compassionate individual, invariably considerate of others. Cool and collected, she's seemingly always calm and in control, and when conflicts arise she almost always plays the role of peacemaker. The young woman just has a calming presence about her that makes those around her feel at ease. On top of all this she's incredibly intelligent and athletic, making her seem nothing short of perfect.

Other: Alyssa didn't mention much about her past to Professor Roxanne, but it would be safe to assume that she's a native of the Hoenn Region.

Let's work from top to bottom. Vincent always keeps his messy black hair under a tan flat cap, which he's known to pull down over his dark green eyes when embarrassed. He has a rather pale complection from years of working inside. His outfit usually consists of a purple button-up shirt with the sleeves often rolled up, black slacks, and a black belt to match his black shoes. He slightly tall for his age and is also quite thin.
Goals and Interests
Throughout his childhood, Vincent developed quite the interest in mechanics and computers. In his free time, he can be seen tinkering with some parts. He delights in taking apart and improving small devices like phones and clocks, with varying degrees of success. This fascination lead to Vincent being quite familiar with The Devon Corporation. Their name was on almost everything he worked on. This fascination with Devon and the things that they make made Vincent aspire to someday work for Devon, developing new technologies for the benefit of the Hoenn Region.
Strengths
Intelligence-Vincent, spending most of his time tinkering or reading, is rather intelligent. He knows much about mechanics, geography, and even Pokémon.
Caution-Perhaps as a side-effect of his fear, Vincent always makes absolutely sure something is safe before using it. This attitude also has him bring along tools and supplies he might not obviously need.
Kindness-Vincent was raised as a gentleman, so he always keeps his manners in mind. He treats everyone with kindness and respect, sometimes to a fault.
Weaknesses
Fear-Vincent is a massive coward. Ever since a young age, his fear of Pokémon has made him something of a black sheep among his peers.
Strength-Vincent's always been more focused with academic pursuits. While his work does sometimes call for physicality, his strength leaves much to be desired.
Worrier-As a combination of his cautious attitude and general fear of anything not made of chocolate, Vincent tends to worry too much about the small things.
History
Vincent was born in Lilycove City to Daniel and Sarah Morrigan. Vincent's father worked in the department store, but as a hobby, his father fixed things. Nothing much, just little things throughout the house. All throughout his childhood, Vincent always loved sitting next to his father and watching him work. To Vincent, it wasn't just wires and cogs being put together, but instead it was more like putting together a puzzle. All of the pieces were strewn about the desk and his father would put them in their place. As he grew older, Vincent started taking things apart around the house and, with varying degrees of success, putting them back together. This passion evolved as Vincent grew, until he became something of a handy man in Lilycove.

Another favorite hobby of Little Vincent was reading. He would read anything he could get his hands on. He loved the feeling of being absorbed into another person's world. It was while browsing through Wigglesworth's Guide To Pokémon that he learned about Pokémon such as Mimikyu and Parasect. Prior to this, he knew little about Pokémon, so Vincent never looked at Pokémon the same way again. Knowledge of Pokémon that were capable of such terrible things made him look at new Pokémon in a different light. Whenever he sees a Pokémon, he can't help but get anxious. What doesn't help is that his sister, Jean, is a rather gifted Pokémon Trainer, so she's usually coming back home to show off some of her rarer, more powerful, Pokémon.

And thus, Vincent grew up apart from the crowd, content to develop his own skills, even if they wouldn't give him the kind of fame that comes with being a Pokémon Trainer. That's what he thought, at least, until he received a letter from Professor Roxanne asking him to help her with her research. Vincent leapt at the opportunity, not quite knowing what the research would entail.

Physical Appearance


It's not hard to imagine why Haroun has found her own success as a model these past couple of years. She's 5'10 and radiates elegant and poise, all slim limbs and grace. She's got wavy purple hair often pinned towards one half of the face (to better show off her flashy earrings, you see) that takes her longer to maintain than she'd like to admit contrasted against dark skin, splash of freckles on her nose, and deep blue eyes. Haroun is a stunner and doesn't she know it, she spends enough time every morning making sure she remains that stunner with makeup and hair products a plenty. She believes you have to take of your appearance, it's your calling card after all.

Fashion-wise, Haroun leans towards the form-fitting but simplistic. She often wears just a black top (with shoulder cut-outs for that interesting sillhouette effect) and white skinny jeans. Normally she would wear heals to go along with it but for the journey she's opted for stylish but practical black sneakers and large black purse. Her hair brings all the colour she needs, she know the white and black combo offsets the colour with timeless classyness, Haroun has got fashion down to an artform, is it any wonder she's something of a trendsetter in Rustboro and surroundings?​

Goals and Interests


Haroun is here mostly because it's a good career move for her. Trainers and coordinators get a lot of press and Haroun isn't happy until she's known throughout Hoenn. So her goal is to do well and network and impress so that her career is once again on the rise. She's most interested in coordination, if only because the elegence speaks to her, but she honestly doesn't know all that much about any kind of Pokemon keeping or battling or anything at all. She's going to have a lot to learn about anything Pokemon.

Strengths


Clever - Haroun is a clever girl. She learns fast, that's something she has going for her at least, on this crazy journey, and boy will she need it. Haroun is very good at thinking outside the box, which is a good thing since in this case she has very little idea of what that box actually entails. Still, don't underestimate creativity to compensate for a lack of knowledge.

Adaptable - Haroun flows like water, be it very fashionable water. She's good at adapting to whatever situation she finds herself in. She takes great pride in never losing sight of herself while she adapts. Sure, she'll change heels for trainers, but that doesn't mean she has to give up her fashionability at the same time. Of course, she might take a little too much pride in her adaptability, and she will surely be tested this journey.

Patient - Look, you don't spend hours waiting for the photographer to be ready or try out poses until the photographer deeps it perfect without building up a patient streak. Things don't need to come immediately for Haroun, she can wait, she can keep trying and trying as long as there's a chance for success she'll hold on. The spoils go to those who wait.

Brave and strong sense of justice- Nobody has ever called Haroun Hadid meek of any sort. She has confidence for days and isn't afraid to put herself out there both in social situations and adventure situations. She always stands up for what she believes is right too. Haroun can't stand injustice and will broadcast that to everyone in a heartbeat. She believes in being a decent human being and expects the same from the others around her, and woe if she thinks she sees someone taking advantage of the weak.

Weaknesses



Judgy and cold - Haroun will not put up with your bullmuk, or anything she perceives as such. She's got a bit of a temper on her, a cold one. She won't yell easily, but oooh I hope you're ready to get death glares and the iciest of responses. Haroun isn't afraid to call out your muk, but she's also rather quick to judge that muk. She formulates opinions of people very quickly, something that started off mostly because she saw a lot of people for only short spurts of time. She's learned to quickly put someone in a box and sometimes even dismiss them. This one's a country bumpkin, that one's an impulsive child, nevermind the fact that there's more to them than that.

Stubbornly vein - While she's generally adaptable, Haroun clings to some aspects of her life with a strong ferocity. Her looks are the main thing. She believes first impressions are very important, as is the way you present herself, and she will always take her own of beautifying herself every morning even if it means balancing her mirror on a treetrunk and trying to get her eyeliner wings to be perfect regardless.

Proud and competitive - Haroun doesn't like to be outplayed, it plays into her stubborn pride. She's a good loser on her own terms, but when she feels like she's been challenged she has to compete, she just has to. Similarly her pride also causes her to feel like she should do things that are out of her comfort zone. She's doing this trainer thing now which is totally left field for her but she's doing it and so she has to excell. She can't show weakness, never show weakness. Haroun Hadid has to be poised and always show herself in a good light, she can't accept anything else. And how else does she becomes better than pushing herself constantly forward, constantly further, never giving herself a break?

Self-centered - For most of her life, Haroun has taken care of herself. She's always been busy and has had trouble formulating really meaningful friendships because she'd flit from event to photoshoot. She has some trouble reaching out and looking outside of her own little bubble. It's hard for her to really imagine what someone else's completely unrelated life might be like.

Brief Background


Haroun was always a pretty child, with her colourful hair and skin and her bright little eyes people would often remark how eyecatching she was even when she was missing teeth and and had been rolling in the mud of the garden. She grew up with a single mother who worked as a secretary at the Devon Corporation. She was visiting her mother when one of the execs noticed her and wondered if she didn't want to do some modelling for their new children's line of Pokemon accessories. Her mom could use the money and Haroun was thrilled at the attention and the rest is history.

So her modelling career took off. She modelled more for Devon over the years and was often found around the corporation's headquarters (plus it helped that she used to have a massive crush on Steven. She can never look him in the eye again). From there on she branched out into clothes modelling for other stores and then to fashion magazines and became something of a local celebrity and fashionista, mostly amongst teens and young adults.

She watched many of her friends and peers trickle off one by one to start their customary Pokemon journeys without much interest. She had her own career here, why would she care about going off on some journey? She'd never really felt much for Pokemon aside from the sweets pets that lounged around here and there. She'd pet the local Skitties or feed the Pidgeys, sure, but that whole diehard Pokemon fan or trainer life wasn't really for her. Then she saw friends come back from their joureys with full teams raving about life changing experiences and she just rolled her eyes and smiled and took off to her next schedule. She had her life together and her career was on the rise, why should she care?

But doubts were sown and sprouted. Was the whole Pokemon journey really all that? She had to admit that it would probably be a good career move if she was successful, most of the true celebrities were either trainers or coordinators, the best of the best. Her agents was pushing her too, knowing that if she did make it far her career was all but set! No more celebrities in Rustboro and surroundings only, but a true known face across Hoenn! So fine, she'd do this whole Pokemon thing, she guessed. She wasn't quite sure how, she'd avoided the trainer school like the plague her entire life, but it couldn't be all that hard right? Right?

At the short height of 5'3, Rose is often mistaken for being younger than she is. Traveling makes for a fairly lean body with toned legs due to so much walking. Her natural hair color is a mild blue that reaches slightly past her shoulder blades, along with several bleached-white streaks around her face. Her eyes are upturned and brown, while her skin is lightly tanned from years of outdoor exploration. Considering Hoenn is a tropical region, Rose will be wearing light clothes throughout the journey: Shorts, tank tops, light running shoes, and a thin jacket, just in case (Hoenn might be tropical, but it isn't the sun, and it's good to be prepared). Like many female trainers from Johto, Rose wears a Pokegear around her neck, as well as two small, rosebud shaped earrings in each ear.


Goals, Interests, Strengths and Weaknesses: Rose has a one track mind, and that one track is Pokémon. She is eager to experience everything the Pokémon world has to offer, and interact with as many Pokémon as possible. She favors Pokémon that sacrifice bulk for speed, and using that speed to set up a quick sweep. She tries to teach her Pokémon a variety of moves in hopes of always having one super effective move against her opponents. Rose enjoys adventure and will step into unknown situations without hesitation in hopes of encountering one, that is, until something goes wrong. Her confidence can be shattered with extreme ease. From gung-ho to devastated so quickly can make her a bit difficult to understand, as there is rarely middle ground. Rose is generally friendly (more so to people with Pokémon), and though not the most talkative, she truly enjoys to be in the company of others, especially while traveling.



Brief History: The man and woman that Rose refers to as her parents are actually her aunt and uncle. Her actual parents were Pokémon mythologists whom went missing thirteen years ago, supposedly on the trail of an ancient Sinnoh Pokémon (whether they are deceased or merely missing is a subject Rose cares not to theorize over). While she has no real memories of her birth parents, their absence left a young Rose with a small sense of loneliness, as well as a feeling of guilt. Why did she yearn for parents she could not remember, when her foster family treated her so well?
Both Rose and her cousin were sent to the Pokémon Trainer School in Goldenrod City, where Rose's interest in Pokémon battles developed into a deep and fiery passion that could not be extinguished. It was quick to see that all this young girl wanted in life was to be a Pokémon trainer, and to travel the world in search of Pokémon to catch and trainers to battle. On the day of her graduation, Rose' guardians presented her with two gifts: A fire Pokémon (befitting her surname) and a ticket for the Goldenrod train station, which she could use to travel to Kanto, and from the port in Vermillion City, begin a journey in any region she chose.
