EMOTION Round 3

I had forgotten the Dakar Rally had started, but when I found the recap show while surfing channels, I was over the moon.

Also, on a related note: The Russian truck team Kamaz was not allowed to compete this year for obvious reasons, which means their iron grip over the podium in the trucks category is finally over.

Well, after reading the first novel of that one Argentinian teenage detective series (of which I read the third book) I've decided I don't want to buy or read the rest of the books. Enough is enough.

The sad part is, both of the dogs that tag along with the human protagonists happen to be the best characters in the series... and they both die within the series itself. It is especially jarring in the case of the first book's dog, a stray named Picho, because he is just casually mentioned to have been run over by a car in the third book. Unless this is a statement on how we really don't deserve dogs, it reads like a cruel joke that he died without any of the protagonists or even a group of neighbors taking him in - despite the other dog, a frickin' Doberman, being adopted by the family of the female lead.

RIP Picho, you were too good for this world.
