114 would be great. I liked the pokemon designs, but overall there were a ton of things they did wrong. I think there were only a few pokemon (Less then 20 I think) that they didn't reveal before release date.

Don't you find that the sheer number of pokez is overwhelming? I would definitely be happier with fewer, quality over quality, and slow down on this almost-exponential growth of pokeys to catch! I am familiar with all of G1, most of G2, and a few, like, single digit numbers, of later pokemon, it's hard to become familiar with them!

      LOVE Moon though :)

Whatever the total number of pokemon is, I would rather care more about having all the available type combinations first. 7 gens onwards, and that goal still has not been crossed off.

Alola introduced some new type combinations, so I'm fine with that.

I like how this generation did introduce some notably unique type combinations, but I felt we could have had more. Cutiefly's post mentioning 114 would be a solid number, but I personally feel somewhere between 110 and 120 would be a better amount for new Pokemon.

I love it. When bw came out I thought it was the end for Pokemon because of how atrocious the designs were. So when they announced xy I was so scared because I thought it could only get worse. But they went a different route by making less new Pokemon which I think meant the ones we got had a little more care put into them. Sm went for the same idea and did a good job again. It's quality not quantity

I don't focus on the total number of new Pokemon as much, but more on the number of new Pokemon with more than one evolution. I always feel like they're lacking, especially when they're generally the strongest. I get a little fed up when I see the count being taken up with ice cream/sand castle Pokémon.

So would you say you would prefer Pokemon that are introduced that have three stage evolutions rather than two stage evolutions? :o

Yep, exactly! I don't know why why, but something doesnt feel right about having a two-stage or a non evolution pokemon in my party.
