This my first SU ever. I hope it's not too long. C: This sounds like an extremely interesting RP set-up.

Name:
Rain Chrysalis Tesla

Age:

15

Gender:

Female

History:

Though not a trial necessarily put upon Rain by Lady Destiny, Rain's family was always rather poor, despite only being her father, mother, and herself. As a result, pokemon were not something they had abundance of, as their small house and limited food left little room for other beings. Rain's family owned only one pokemon-- a particularly fierce houndoom named Char that protected the family-- and as a child Rain forged a considerably strong bond with the creature. This has lead Rain to have a certain fondness for canine-esque pokemon and left her with a willingness to be protected. This does not make her useless though, since her poor upbringing has left her many times having to do for herself as far as cooking and cleaning, seeing as her mother and father were oftentimes away at work, leaving her under Char's watch. Her constant companionship with Char has transferred over to Rain always leaving her pokemon out whenever possible, and in this way she has formed a very close connection with her shinx.

Alone, besides Char, for most of her childhood, Rain developed a love for singing, and it tends to brighten her up in many situations, and has kept her from becoming too lonely without anyone to talk back to her. Rain is rather frugal as well, and she is always rather reluctant to take anything for free/charity or, conversely, give anything away thanks to always having to make do with whatever she had. Rain formed a deep bond with nature having lived practically in the deep woods her entire life, and while she is fine and good with the calmness, she is more of a sucker for the excitement of lightning storms and blizzards, as there wasn't much else to keep her distracted as a child. Char, being a fire type, always disliked said storms, and would often stay indoors whenever Rain went outside to run around in the rain or snow. The child is a bit of a social reject due to being alone for so long and so she gets flustered quite often around people, but she is always very polite, and has a deep love for her parents, knowing how hard they work and struggle so they can all live together and be happy.

The family lived in the woods outside of Oreburgh in the region of Sinnoh, where Rain's father Mark worked in the ore mines. While playing outside in the yards one evening, a 9-year-old Rain was carried off by a large fearow. Char managed to tail the creature for miles until it finally landed in its nest, but he couldn't climb the tree, and decided to run back home for help as the first drops of rain began to fall from the sky.

Rain was left in the nest by the fearow and discovered she wasn't the only creature there. Huddled in the far corner was a small shinx. Rain approached it slowly, and was sad to find it was in no condition to run from her. She picked the small creature up and sang to it, wanting only this last chance to comfort another before their ultimate deaths. The shinx felt a connection with Rain almost immediately and bonded with her. Rain continued to sing to the shinx and discovered it knew how to use its electricity. They quickly made a plan.

When the fearow returned, it found Rain and the shinx on different sides of the nest. It began moving towards the shinx, finally ready to feast. Rain took a deep breath before running forward and ripping out as many tail feathers as she could grab, and when the fearow had become thoroughly distracted with chasing after Rain, the shinx Charged itself up and shocked the fearow as well as it could with a Spark attack. Lucky for the two, the rain had soaked the fearow, and with a mighty 'caw' the creature became paralyzed and fell to its side, almost crushing Rain in the process.

Not long after, Char, along with Mark and several other men from the mines arrived. With combined efforts, they managed to scale the tree and bring down Rain and the shinx now firmly affixed in her arms. Lowered to the ground, Rain found a terrible thing—Char was practically dead, laying on the ground and panting heavily. The run through the rain to the village and back to the tree had hurt it considerably, and having been in a rush, none of the miners had thought to bring a potion. Rain put down the shinx and ran to her friend, but it was obviously too late. They were much too far from the town to take him back. Moving him at this point would just hurt him. The miners stood around the pair, shuffling their feet and stealing awkward glances to the sky as Rain sobbed over her friend. One by one the men fell away, until it was only Rain, her father, Char, and the small shinx. Char died in Rain's arms and Rain became withdrawn for days after.

Her father carried Char back and buried him in the backyard. The shinx, having nowhere else to go after Rain had brought him back and had him healed at the center, came to live with the family with the parent's hopes that it would help Rain to not be alone after Char's death. The shinx, perhaps feeling it owed Rain for helping it escape certain death, or perhaps feeling it had finally found a person with which he truly wanted to spend the remainder of his life, made special efforts to help Rain along in her grieving. Over time, Rain grew to love the little shinx as her new companion, and named it Char in memory of her dead friend. Rain and Char worked hard together, going into the woods daily to train, both wanting to become strong to protect the ones they loved.

The rest of Rain's time since Char's death has been spent forming a closer and closer bond with the new Char. While both Rain and Char trained as much as possible, they still liked having fun and being kind to others, and often befriended some of the pokemon they encountered during their training. Rain still loves to sing, and Char loves to listen. Later on, they became known in Orebough as the Electric Rain duo, since older age allowed them frequent trips to the town to visit the shops and museum, and Rain's polite attitude and rather handsome companionship of Char made her popular with the folks of the town. Sadly, despite their popularity, Rain still remains rather shy with humans. She finds older people easier to deal with since most of her interactions have been with her parents, but many times cannot articulate around people closer to her age.

Personality:

Rain is a very frugal person, having learned to never toss things away in her poor childhood, since they may be useful later on down the road. Having been alone much of her life with only pokemon to keep her company, she is rather shy around humans, but very polite, especially to elders, as she has always wanted to please her parents when they were home from their jobs in the ore mines. Being alone with pokemon and living near the woods has left her with an ability to befriend pokemon rather easily, and she would much rather sing with a pidgey than battle it.

Rain is not above being protected by others, but is very capable of doing things for herself, and hopes to one day protect others with help from Char. The death of her houndoom friend, Char, left her wracked with guilt, and she has a habit of never letting the new Char out of her sight. Rain is rather level-headed, as she knows after living alone what not taking care of certain things can lead too, however without people around to push her to do things, she tends to go at her own pace in both action and thought. When she got older, Rain loved to visit the museum in town and gawk at all the fossils, hoping to one day journey and see all there was to see. Of course, Rain knew these were just daydreams, and that she most likely would end up working in the mines or in town, like her mother and father. Nevertheless, Rain is the type to daydream; most of her time, not spent training, weaving magical thoughts in and out of her mind.

Appearance:

Clothing:

Rain has never been a fashionista, due for the most part to her family's poverty, but it also has much to do with her disconnection from the outside world. With no TV, and her only real human interactions occurring during her trips in-town, Rain hasn't had much experience with the best ways to dress. Her clothing consists of a patched-up skort, dark blue besides the multi-colored patches, that reaches to about a hands-width above her knees. Her shirt is most often a pink sleeveless cotton fabric, but she also owns a thin long-sleeved shirt of the same color for cooler weather. Her shoes are hardly ever on her feet, as she prefers to wander through the forests barefoot, so they are in rather good condition. Light blue, with white laces, they're pretty basic as far as tennis shoes go, and when she does wear them, it's usually with white ankle socks. She most often wears her hair down, with a headband to keep it out of her face. Her backpack is pretty beat-up, patched up by Rain herself on several occasions. Originally brown, it now sports several rainbow patches, varying in size and pattern, and one day of boredom led to Rain haphazardly stitching her name in various colors onto the bag, giving it a rather striking appearance.

Physical Appearance:

Rain is Caucasian, but rather tan from her time in the sun every day. She stands about 5'6 or 5'7, and is well toned in the legs and arms thanks to her constant training with Char. That said, the time she spends lying around, coupled with the delicious-yet-fattening meals she's made herself throughout her childhood has left Rain with small love-handles and a bit of chub on her midsection. Her hair is a light brown, with natural highlights of blond throughout, and falls to the center of her back. Rain's eyes are a light blue, and are the most prominent feature on her face because of their large size and bright color.

Chosen Region:

Sinnoh

Pokemon:

Type:
Shinx

Gender:

Male

Personality:

Char is extremely protective of Rain, and while he is not shy like her, he really feels no urge to interact with others; he is perfectly content to dedicate all his time and energy to Rain. He loves to groom himself and make his fur shine in the sun, which is something Rain adores. Char has inherited many of Rain's mannerisms, like being a daydreamer and being polite to others, as well as Rain's ideology of making friends over battling other pokemon. Char loves Rain more than anything, and because of this he is very willing to train with her daily and aide her in her desire to help others. While Rain is often ditzy about their training sessions, Char is the one that keeps her on track and urges her to improve on herself. It's not that Rain lacks motivation, but focus, and this is one of the key things Char provides her with. In this way he is a tad more level-headed than Rain, but he still has his moments of laziness, especially when he begins grooming himself. He loves to listen to Rain sing, and unlike the previous Char, he adores running with her in the storms.

How Rain Got Char:

When Char was small, before he met Rain, he lived in a cave near a river with his parents. One day, when his mother was unwell and his father was off searching for berries to help her, Char was carried off by a large fearow after venturing too far from the cave. He was hurt bad by the creature and, unable to move, the small shinx was sure his fate was sealed. However, when the fearow returned, it dropped off a young girl and then flew off again. The girl came over and soothed Char, and in turn Char made an effort to glow for her using a Charge attack his mother had taught him. The girl realized that Char could use electric attacks, and told him that once she had the bird distracted, he should shock it with all his might. Char did just that, paralyzing the bird, and once he and Rain had been lowered to the ground, he had watched the girl become distressed over her now-dead friend. From there Char had been taken to the Pokemon Center for healing, and then to the girl's house. He learned her name was Rain and everyday he tried to find some way to cheer her up. Over time it seemed to worked, and she dubbed him Char. They soon agreed to train together, and from there the bond between the two only grew.

It was several years after Char had come to live with him that he "officially" became Rain's pokemon. On Rain's thirteenth birthday, her father had given her a Luxury Ball, which she had immediately turned and captured Char in. He had submitted willingly, but she never kept him in the ball, as Rain felt she must always have her eye on the shinx, lest something happen to him.

I thought about the TM when writing it. I was going to put in another thing how, like the Luxury Ball, it was one of those things her parents scrimped and saved for as a birthday present, but I wasn't sure where I'd put it. If you'd like me to change it, I will.

INCOMING WALL OF TEXT

Name: Raydin Mathew Sear
PURPLICIOUSPOPTARTS!
Gender: Male

Age: 16

Description: Raydin is about five foot ten and very thin. He has Blond hair with streaks from his favorite red dye. It's parted directly down the middle so his vision is clear. He has long arms and legs. His skin is fairly white, due to him not going outside very much. He has a scar going down his right cheek from a spearow attack. He has Hazel/green eyes that seem to shift color depending on what he wears.

His normal outfit consists of Black jeans or khaki shorts, and a plain Tee in assorted colors. He has a stainless steel bracelet that he wears around his wrist 24/7. He also has a small black stud earring in his right ear that has a pokeball design etched into it. He likes to wear black converses, and he has a habit of getting them and the rest of his outfit 'worn down' within days of them being received. He also shaves every day, keeping any and all facial hair away.

Personality: Raydin is a calm person with a warm personality. He smiles quite a bit, and when he does get angry, it's for something big. He sticks with his family and friends, and is willing to stick up for them until the end. Raydin hate evil people, even though he doesn't have much experience with them. He does have some flaws, and they often get him in trouble. For one thing, he's lazy. If Raydin has the opportunity to do something other than work, he will. This includes both homework and actual work, things that have both gotten him grounded… Raydin tends to just walk off without telling anybody, and he often forgets his phone on top of that. Whenever Raydin gets annoyed at his parents, he tends to raise his voice, an action which often results in him getting hit.

Raydin loves to read and play videogames, having pulled all-nighters just to play an Epic game or to finish a really good Novel. He also loves to draw, even if he isn't good at it. In fact, he tried to draw a Mudkip once, but it ended up looking like a ditto. He loves to eat Chinese food and his favorite desert is a nice-cold vanilla shake with whipped cream a cherry, and a little bit of ground cinnamon on the top. Ever since he could walk, Raydin's loved to climb. Whether it be a tree, a hill, a rock or a Mountain, Raydin would (attempt to) climb it. He falls often, but every time it happens, he just pops back up with twice the determination in his eyes. He has pledged to himself that he will conquer all of the major mountains of Johto, Kanto, and Sinnoh. He keeps their names written Down in a journal that he keeps to record his climbing excursions. He checks the names every day: Coronet, Silver, and Mortar.

History: Being born in a city where meteors fall on the night of a star shower can have interesting results. The result of Raydin's birth was the birth of one who was able to control his fate. Such people often notice this ability early, but Raydin didn't. Whether it was because he was too busy, or whether his attention was completely focused on a drawing, he just never seemed to notice the challenges that were laid out for him. They existed, and they were there, but he wasn't the one to notice it, it was always someone else. Just to give an example, when he was about 5, he climbed a tree that was on the outskirts of town with his mom watching from the ground. When he looked down, his mom was waving both arms at him. Raydin had waved back, and jumped down on the ground with a jarring landing. His mom had been signaling him to come down quickly; there had been a beedrill nest behind him. When Raydin turned 6, an emotional challenge was sent his way.

On Raydin's 6th Birthday, his grandfather had a stroke. Raydin and his family stayed at the hospital for weeks, with little improvement recorded. Raydin's grandfather asked to speak with his grandson alone one afternoon, and Raydin's parents obliged. The grandfather told Raydin of his history, and his ancestor's history. Raydin was told that if he had to inherit the family name, he had to learn about his past. When the history session was over, Raydin's grandfather smiled, and said, "Raydin, It is not our desire that causes this planet to spin, nor is it our passion that causes food to grow. Everything that we know is determined. Everything that has ever happened to us was supposed to happen. Your destiny may not be controlled by yourself, for when you make all of your decisions and you reach the end of your lifetime you realize that you were supposed to make those decisions, and that you were supposed to reach the goal that you reached. Our Destiny is pre-determined from before birth. It cannot be controlled, and don't let anyone tell you otherwise. Okay?" At this point Raydin nodded and his Grandfather smiled. He reached out towards Raydin and asked, "Oh, Raydin would you mind pulling out that plug in the wall?" Raydin nodded once again and pulled the plug out of the wall. One of the displays that was connected to the cord fell and hit his head, knocking him out instantly. It was only later that he was told his grandfather had died. No one had the heart to tell them that it was his fault.

About 3 years later Raydin discovered his love for climbing. He and his father climbed all the way to the top of the waterfall in meteorite falls. When they reached the top they realized that Raydin had forgotten to properly attach his safety equipment. Raydin had climbed the fall freely. This made him smile wide. It was proof that he was going to be a great climber. After this, Raydin climbed several more times, once on each of his birthdays. Every time there was something dangerous. On his tenth birthday, he climbed the mountain of Hoenn through an earthquake. On his 11th, he stumbled into a Tyranitar's cave that was in the side of the Hoenn Mountain On his 12th, he fell 100 feet before landing in a hot spring covered in ash. The impact of the water caused him to crack two ribs and break his Tibia. At this point his parents became concerned, and they told him he would not be climbing for another 2 years, minimum. They stuck true to their word, and instead of taking him climbing on his 13th birthday, they gave him a Pokémon egg. It was orange with two red circles on it. Despite the fact that he was unable to go climbing, Raydin was still overjoyed. He stuck with the egg at all times, even taking it in the cable car to Lavaridge, so he could place it in the hot spring. About 3 weeks after his birthday, the egg hatched. Quite to his surprise, a Paras crawled on his chest, waking him up. Raydin screamed for a half a minute before he realized that his egg had hatched, and that this was his Pokémon. The Paras was later discovered to be a girl, and Raydin named her Era.

While Raydin cared deeply for Era, she saw him as little more than the person that gave her food. She was indifferent towards him. When Raydin's 14th birthday came along, Raydin was once again denied climbing, and he became annoyed. He went into his room and kicked Era, sending her flying out the window. Raydin went outside and looked for her everywhere, under rocks, on a wall, and even back in his room. He didn't find her until he heard her screech. She was in the tree with the beedrill nest. Raydin climbed it quickly, not showboating at all, and he scooped Era into his arms. Every beedrill in that tree stung him, jabbing him with poison spikes. He winced and carried her down from the tree as the beedrill chased after him. The poison flowed quickly through his bloodstream, burning with his every heart beat. He reached the Pokémon center and collapsed, with Era clutched in his arms. When Raydin awoke, Era was rubbing up against him, coating him liberally with stun spore. Raydin sneezed and felt his arm tingle. Now he and Era had a bond.

Over the next two years the two did everything together. They climbed the Hoenn Mountain twice, and during both occasions Raydin was injured. The first time he broke his fibula, and the second time he cracked 4 ribs. It was exactly one week after Raydin recovered that he received a strange letter…

Region: Hoenn, Fallarbor

Starter: Paras
Female
Moves: Scratch, Stun Spore, Poison Powder
Personality: Don't expect to converse with Era about Philosophy. She doesn't display much emotion. She acts just like most bug Pokémon; completely and totally emotionless. For the most part anyway. She does have strong feelings for Raydin, and that came from the incident with the Beedrill nest. She will protect Raydin with all of the power that she has, even if it means her own death. Raydin acknowledges this, and he does his best to keep her out of dangerous situations.

Are we allowed to have egg moves for our pokemon? I forgot to post the moveset for Shelly. Here it is:

Bubble, Smokescreen, and Muddy Water (If egg moves are allowed).

Also, for the start of the RP, are we supposed to start off traveling to Vermillion, or are we already there?

Um, let's try to resist on egg moves as powerful as muddy water, but if it was something like Disable, or Aura Beam I'd be fine with it.

You can either start by traveling to Vermilion or already b in Vermilion when you post. Just make sure to end the post with the battle.
