Have you ever tried to estimate how much money you've spent on this hobby?

No, I actually haven't. At least not recently. With manga it's a bit easier to get an approximation simply by mutliplying the volumes I have by $10 since that's probably the average cost of one for me, and I have done that before. I have 716 of those, so that's like $7100 over the 9 years I've been collecting.

I can do things like tell you how much I've spent on anime conventions since October of 2016, though, because it's in my budget tracker as its own category: $8,107.89.

However, this figure accounts for me being the one handling the travel costs up front and having my friends just pay me back after to keep our cost splits simple (ie - we only have to pay back one person), as well as my own food expenses. And that's across 6 anime conventions - 3 local, 3 out of state.

The figure does, however, also include everything I've bought at these conventions, and that's where I've picked up a good percentage of the merch I've bought over the years.

Most of the rest of my non-convention spending is lumped in with my general recreational money because I couldn't be bothered to categorize it.

I've been seeing that all over these last several months and have been meaning to start it and see what it's all about because it totally seems to be my speed.

I've been watching an anime probably no one here has ever heard of called Capeta. It's a racing anime, but it's not as good as Initial D....

Stardust Crusaders was such a wild ride. Even though I got spoiled about it a lot, it almost made me cry during...those moments.

If you think you overspent on manga just look how much bigger my collection of stuff has improved since I started getting paid. I used to only have like two DVDs and a couple games and now I got multiple shelf's of games, manga, comics, movies etc.

I only got one anime figure and a few action figures. I cut down on Funko Pops quite a lot.

Naoki Urasawa's Monster is fantastic if you aren't looking for a blood and guts slasher type horror.

Wasn't there an anime that was kind of an anthology of a legendary horror manga artist's works as well recently? I forget whose works it adapted.

I think it was the Junji Ito collection. Apparently it wasn't so good. His works, though, are said to be legendary

He has done some good stuff, as well as the weird out horror he has a good sense of humour. Got to admit my favourite is probably that little comedy one about his fiancee's cats.

Remember when they tried to adapt Gyo. lol

Anime community does do some impressive things. Imagine raising the best part of £200k to bring such a relatively small series to the west.

                    This is also impressive.

Darn not you guys too, Mrs. Tsuru was a great woman, but Bulma is on the likes of Paul with her attitude

Still i like her roles as Bra* and West Supreme Kai

Speaking of pokemon, she also played the female team rocket boss http://dogasu.bulbagarden.net/old_news_archive/201801_january.html

                        * I didn't named her "Bulla" becuase that's Funimation's censorship of the word "bra" so i dunno why Adult swim still calls her Bulla and not Bra, but Mr. Satan is not "Hercule"
