How can I evolve my Pikachu? Do I need Thunderstone?

Yes.But in Pokemon Yellow,you're Pikachu has to be LV.50 before you could.

I thought you couldn't evolve it in yellow.. and yes you need Thunderstone!

In yellow version, Pikachu will hate your guts if you try to give it the Thunderstone. In other words, you can't.

My Pikachu is at level 60 and is not evolving.

It's completely impossible in Yellow? I like the exclimation mark effect he does.

Maybe because you caught a pikachu and than gave it the thunder stone..
That can, but you can't give it to the pikachu that you get in the beginning :\

if u trade it. evolve it. then trade it back would it be a raichu stalking u instead of pikachu?

Thats so sad, but I like the way the happier it was the stronger in battle it was, it makes up for the lack of evolution

Also they stopped learning moves in R/B/Y if memory serves me correctly

Pikachu will never be able to evolve on Yellow, Unless you trade it to another game, evolve it and trade it back to Yellow.You cannot because Pikachu (Like on the Anime) is afraid to evolve.
