The Reaper Nuzlocke Variant relies on characters and storytelling to get to its fullest potential. Once you catch a pokemon, generate a number 1-10. If they generate as a role you already have, roll again. You can only own 1 reaper, 1 shaman, 1 angel, and 1 chosen one. You usually do not want the reaper in your party, but if you catch one, you must keep it in your party until it dies.
The Fool- A commoner
The Shaman- can bring the dead back to life. See rules for details.
The Chosen One- Has the ultimate destiny, must be kept in party, has visions

The Angel- A being of light, the only way to kill the reaper efficiently. MUST be nicknamed Poxie or a following variation thereof. (Poxi, Poxy, Poxxy, Poxxie, Pocksy, Pocsy, Poksy) THIS ROLE IS ONLY UNLOCKED AFTER THE 4TH GYM HAS BEEN BEATEN. UNTIL THEN, 7 IS JUST ANOTHER FOOL

RULES/STORYLINE
1.When the chosen one is in your party, and you black out, you are saved.
2.The shaman can only rez one pokemon for each gym badge you have. If they themself die, they cannot revive themselves.
3. When the chosen one dies, the role will be passed onto a random party member regardless of their role. See special roles.
4. When the reaper kills someone by rerolling a death, they cannot be rezzed unless done so by a pokemon with the role "Haloed Being" or "333". See special roles.
5. The angel can only be caught once, and 7 immediately becomes a fool's number again once they die.
6. When the angel is in your party, 5 becomes the fool's number and the reaper cannot be caught. This applies even after the angel dies.
7. If your angel dies, your party's reaper cannot reroll their death and dies along with them. If you wish to rez the reaper after the angel eradicates them, only one with the role "Haloed Being" can bring them back to life.
8. When the angel dies, there is a 25% chance Poxie's gift will be activated and be given to a random party member. See special roles.
9. If you catch the chosen one or the reaper you must keep them in your party until they die
SPECIAL ROLES
"The Plague" - When the chosen one role is given to the reaper at random, they assume a new, more deadly form. Now, pokemon of yours can catch the plague and it will spread. After a pokemon dies and the death is assigned to someone else, the pokemon that "died" originally has a 50% chance of being infected. They will infect anyone else in the region they're currently in (pc or party) 35% chance per pokemon if not put in a solitary box immediately. The infected pokemon has a 75% chance to die after 10 minutes, but if it lives, it is safe to have in the party again.
"Haloed Being" - When the chosen one role is given to the shaman at random, the shaman now is godlike. They cannot die, but cannot be used in battle either. They must be kept in the party but never trained, and can cast 5 rezzes whenever needed. Once all 5 are used up, they officially die (25%), return to being a normal shaman (25%), or become a fool (50%).
"Morphed Death" - When the reaper is resurrected by the shaman, there is a 50% chance they assume this new form called Morphed Death. This being is the second coming of the reaper, even worse than the first. If this Morphed Detah is in your party, when the shaman tries to rez someone, it fails unless they have the "Haloed Being" role.
"New Life's Gift" - When the reaper is resurrected by the shaman, there is a 50% chance they assume this new form called New Life's Gift. This being is the second coming of the reaper, pure and cured of their ailment. This is no longer the reaper, but a simple fool finally relieved of their burden bringing death to the world. The number 5 is now a fool and the reaper will not come again.
"Heartsong Shaman"
Given Poxie's gift, this shaman can now rez those killed by the reaper's rerolling of deaths
"Songsman"
This fool has 2 lives, after being given Poxie's gift
"Beacon to the Light"
Given Poxie's gift, the chosen one can now literally take a bullet for any teammate. One dies? A BTTL can sacrifice themself to save the fallen friend.
"777"
A role that can only be obtained through very complicated and deliberate means. After the angel dies, the reaper must be instantly rezzed by a Haloed Being, and then Poxie's gift being given to them unlocks this incredibly rare role. When the gift is bestowed upon the reaper, after being rezzed into New Life's Gift , they now become an unstable being that morphs to fit another role as soon as it comes into existence; 777 is too unstable to not morph into a different role. Check your trainer ID number. End in 0-3? They become a fool. 4-5? A shaman. 6-7? A chosen one. 8? They're the reaper again. 9? An angel. This is the only way to legally obtain 2 of the same role in one team, and to obtain an angel after the first and only has died.
"333"
A role that can only be obtained through very complicated and deliberate means. After the angel dies, the reaper must be instantly rezzed by a haloed being, and then Poxie's gift being given to them unlocks this incredibly rare role. When the gift is bestowed upon the reaper, after being rezzed into Morphed Death, they now become a glitch in the system, so to speak. They cannot be used in battle. You may only put them into your pc. If this role is obtained, you're given 3 free rezzes to use, 3 pokemon in your party get their roles rerolled, and if one of your pokemon dies, 3 randoms of your team die instead. You want to get this being out of your party asap. If you immediately box a 333, you won't get to use the rezzes, won't have to reroll your team's rolls, and you won't be at risk of losing 3 of your team members. Once in the PC, this pokemon cannot be taken out.
