Use Pikachu in playthrew?

Hello guys

Since ive heart that pikachu isnt strong in the games but i really want to use one and have the feeling of a strong pikachu.

should i keep my pikachu for example 5 lvs higher than the rest of my team.

Your thoughts and experience?

I've moved this thread over to Pokemon Gaming Central, since Feedback & Support is for questions and stuff about the PokeCommunity itself.

But to answer your question: Pikachu's not generally considered a strong Pokemon because it has kind of low base stats and its non-Hidden Ability is not terribly useful, plus you can evolve it. However, most Pokemon are usable for any given playthrough of a Pokemon, and Pikachu is not one of the few I'd consider to be true dead weight. You just might have to put a little more work into it to make it on par with the rest of your team is all. Those of us who played Yellow managed to get through that game with a Pikachu after all.

So give it a try if you want.

Also if you're playing Let's Go Pikachu, it's stronger in that one, as they boosted the stats of the starter Pikachu in LGPE.
