Post a statement. Person below agrees or disagrees to it. Then posts a statement of their own.

example - person 1: "Pineapples are good on pizza".

person 2: "Disagree". "Ketchup is good on fries".

to start

It's preferable to be early than late.

I like it when new games pop :D

Completely agree.

Cinemas (movie theaters) are deprecated.

Disagree. I think cinema will always hold some appeal.

The Pokemon main series games should be more experimental.

Agree. I'd love to see them branch out and do more new things!

Floppy disks were cool and they should be more widespread/used again.

Disagree. They're good, but not the best fast food. Pizzas are the best for me :)

Open Worlds are boring.

Not all Open Worlds are boring. But I agree that most modern open worlds are!

People who like pineapple pizza are valid, too!

Agree. I may not like it, but i'm not invalidating someone over that.

Commercialism on holidays can feel obnoxious.

Disagree. I was miserable when I didn't make money. And now that I make money I feel even more miserable at times because of all the strings attached to that process. And getting more money also doesn't matter much when the prices for everything go up and up (sometimes even faster than the money you get).

The removal of HMs from the Pokemon games took away a mechanic that forced people to actually think about the team they wanted to use.

Agree. Though I wouldn't consider being forced to use certain mons you might not want to use just to be able to navigate the region a good thing.

Sequels are rarely better than the originals.

Partially disagree. I don't know about movies, novels, comics, series. But in videogames, I'd argue it's the opposite. Many times the first iteration of a franchise shows good ideas in a "shy" way, and the second time they feel more confident to actually express themselves: God of War 2, Darksiders 2, Pokémon Gold/Silver, Dead Space 2, Portal 2, Left 4 Dead 2, Blades of Time, The Witcher 2; probably a million others XD
Of course this is not a general rule: Dark Souls 2 was terrible; I wouldn't say DOOM Eternal was better than DOOM 2016 but it was clearly different (and as good); other franchises have a second iteration that's very similar to the first one (Tomb Raider).

The videogame industry lacks new ideas.

Disagree. There are plenty of creative ideas out there. However big franchises will always be on top and you do need to dig into the obscure. Psychonauts is a good example of a game that sold awfully but is very ingenious. It took 17 years for a sequel too.

Agree. It's annoying, forces you to do something you may not like and you may not even get anything out of it outside of preventing (more) punishment. Though, I do admit that when nothing gives you enjoyment in life then stress isn't going to change that, either. ^^"

Summer sucks.

Agree. I don't like the summer heat either =p

More video games need to allow for both a 'good' and an 'evil' path through the story.

At the risk of outraging everyone, I disagree. Choices in videogames are very frustrating to me. I don't want to have the wrong ending because I killed the one who killed my dog instead of marrying them.
Jokes aside, I played 30 minutes of Mass Effect 1 because I spent more time thinking about what decision to make to get the good ending, than actually playing the game. I have too many games to play to replay ten times the one game that has ten different paths.

People do what's good for them, according to themselves.

Actually I was refering to the triple A games (the games with millions of dollars of budget).
Sure indie games exist but I wouldn't say they represent the biggest part of videogames.

Disagree. I would have kicked the bucket a long time ago if that were the case. That is not to say that I don't want to do it. Likewise: just because I need psychological help doesn't mean I have the energy to get it. The whole topic of mental health/psychology makes this quote very weird, tbh.

Society works too hard.

For a lot of modern jobs I feel like it's more of a 'work long' rather than 'working intensively/hard' attitude.
Naturally there are jobs where it's both which are rough.

I suppose I'll agree because of all the time investment for most jobs nowadays 😅

>It's hard to respect someone's choice when you see them making the same mistake over & over.<

I feel like it's a matter of implementation.
Like in TW3 some of the stuff you had to be careful with to avoid a bad ending was imo kind of minor and I had no idea it would matter in the grand scheme of things. I don't remember how many of those moments you could get wrong and still get one of the good endings, but I know I messed up at least 1 of them, maybe two. I only barely avoided the bad endings on my blind playthrough xD

The problem I have with how most games implement it is that they don't always make it clear that you're at a pivotal moment.

Anyway, nothing wrong with linearity =3

On another topic: I definitely feel like I need psychological help lately. The anxiety, while not crippling, has been really exhausting me lately. I also have nervous tics that have turned into repetitive behaviors that I feel like I can't stop unless I massively calm down which is...hard a lot of the time.

>It's hard to respect someone's choice when you see them making the same mistake over & over.<

Honestly, I think I disagree. I understand that it can be hard to make the right choices sometimes depending on circumstances, even if you know they're not the right ones.

Working from home is always the best. (Agree or disagree?)
