If I can clearly remember, you need to go to Orpimence City now.

Hi, does anyone by chance have the solution to the 6th gym puzzle? The gym is in Ravenplume city and I'm just struggling to find my way through it. Any form of help would be really appreciated. Thank you in advance!

Hi everyone, I'd really like to play this game but am having a few problems.

I've seen a few people say when they pick there starter they get "this pokemon is really quite energetic" and then the game freezes. I'm getting the same thing and haven't found a solution.

I've tried it on multiple emulators, on both 1.0 and 1.1 and any other suggestions I've found in this thread with no luck. Hoping someone has a working solution.

If you haven't completed the Chateau of Time and Mt Snowfall events, then do those first. If you have already done that, talk to the scientists, then fly to Orpimence City and speak with the Director, who will give you a meteorite. Talk to the scientists in Ravenplume City again, and they should let you through, allowing you to advance to the next town

So this is worth giving a shot I suppose? I'd like to know what the general consensus of this rom hack is.

I mean, yeah? This thread is full of people talking about the hack, after all. You could also check out let's plays on youtube to see if you'd like the hack if you can't decide by looking through the thread. The biggest turn offs are mostly personal preferences (the hack's difficulty and there's Fakemon in it), and the mapping isn't great but most people seem able to look past that.

Hey, does anyone want to make English logos for Altair, Sirius, Procyon, and Deneb? If not, where would be a better place to ask?

Here's the Japanese title screens as reference:

And Vega's Japanese and English title screens:

Ideally, they should resemble the Vega logo's style. I'd ask the guy who did the Vega logo, but he disappeared.

Don't get too excited, I'm not working on Procyon and Deneb until the next version, the one that goes up to the Champion, is released. I'm just trying to get this done in advance. (In Altair and Sirius's case, it's just long overdue.)

The Altair and Sirius translations, will they have the modern features that the original Altair/Sirius don't?

No, it'll just be a translation. Someone can make a patch for it if they want, I guess.

It sounds like you didn't see that they've already been translated. To be fair, the link's not very visible, but that's because it's... not very good. The current translation is within the Japanese game, meaning the font is ugly and there's only 5 letters per Pokemon name.

But that's for now. I'll come out and say it - An improved Altair and Sirius translation is 99% complete, with only two things blocking its release. One is the title screen logos, and the other I can't talk freely about just yet.

So if anyone can help make the logos, or at least direct me somewhere that's more likely to help, that would be great.

Yes. This time, it's a lot better than the old one, which it was using Japanese limitation text, like having 5 character text on said Pokemon, and better text style than foreign, Japanese translated text style from before.

ok im playing the only translation available so I understand the real pokemon names. but altair and Sirius starts off pretty boring and than after the 6th gym things get pretty intense (I have not beat the game) but im excited for these games to get translated. (in case your wondering I just beat the 7th gym in altair)

Oh hey, that guy is me.

Speaking of which, I was working on something like that for the original Japanese patches...

                                      Spoiler:
I kept the Japanese "Pocket Monsters" logo here because there wasn't a specific tilemap I could find for it and because of a palette limitation caused by both images sharing the same palette. This would brick the screen if I tried to change it.
Except that was for the Japanese patches. I see there's a port for English Emerald in the works now.

That also means I figured out how to tilemap edit and tried tidying up Vega's title screen.

Anyways, I found the internal ID's of each Pokemon! These go with the general codebreaker codes on FireRed and work with VBA, in case you want to shorten the grinding and make a more diverse team! (From gamefaqs.)

                                        Mastercode:

                                        000014D1 000A
                                        10044EC8 0007

                                        Wild Pokemon Modifier Mastercode:

                                        000014D1 000A
                                        1003dae6 0007

                                        Level Modifier:

                                        33007CF0 00XX (With XX being the level you want in hexadecimal, 09 --> 0A ... --> 0F --> 10)

                                        Species Modifier:

                                        83007CEE XXXX (Refer to list):

                                        And the actual species involved:

I made this list around gym 2, so I didn't know the name of some of the later Pokemon, and instead tried to put down their type.

I remember working on the original Vega logo with Frankie, so I'd be happy to give it a go. Though the one Kiseki has posted looks pretty damn good.
