I'd also go with a dual-typed gym. (Shoutouts to the Fire/Ice dual gym in Dark Rising 2 for being the first dual gym I ever fought against and some of the incredible Delta species in Insurgence for making the idea grow inside my head :P)

While both aren't my favorite type by default, I'd go with a Flying/Fighting dual gym, and it'd be the 8th of whichever region due to how well both types can cover each others' weaknesses.

Badge name: Moonsault Badge
Gym appearance: I'd make it a mixture between an indoor playground and a MMA/pro wrestling ring. Lots of trampolines which you have to jump across and fight trainers before you can get to me.

Team:
Hawlucha @Sitrus Berry
Unburden
-Swords Dance
-Flying Press
-Acrobatics
-Thunderpunch

Lucha would be my ace (and honestly, if I make a gym parodizing pro wrestling, I would be stupid to not run it).

Sigilyph @Wide Lens
Magic Guard
-Hypnosis
-Dream Eater
-Shadow Ball
-Heat Wave

I love my Nazca birb. It's natural Psychic typing comes in very well to help against eventual pokes that want to prey on my Fighting-types.

Aerodactyl @Focus Sash
Rock Head
-Taunt
-Stealth Rock
-Brave Bird
-Stone Edge

Aero. Lightning fast, taunts and sets up rocks, then hits hard. (Seriously, somebody make Aero learn Brave Bird regularly. It needs a flavorful, powerful flying STAB, goshdangit!)

Conkeldurr @Flame Orb
Guts
-Bulk Up
-Drain Punch
-Knock Off
-Mach Punch

I don't think I need to explain this.

Mienshao @Life Orb
Regenerator
-Fake Out
-U-Turn
-High Jump Kick
-Poison Jab

Fast, flinches, pivots. Next!

Lucario @Air Balloon
Inner Focus
-Nasty Plot
-Flash Cannon
-Aura Sphere
-Dark Pulse

Being one of the few non-legendary fighting types that can go special (and be decent at it), Lucario is a must. Inner Focus > Justified because it uses special attacks.

Of course, I would make some adjustments in a rematch (HJK on Hawlucha, Vacuum Wave on Lucario and some other changes mostly in coverage). But this looks solid enough pre-E4. :P

Grass would be a no-brainer. Most of my favourites are Grass so putting together a team wouldn't be too hard.

I'd be a ground type leader whose gym puzzle focuses on aligning chunks of earth.

My team would be Camerupt, Mamoswine, Claydol, Pallosand, and Krookodile. I would be the seventh leader and Krookodile would be my ace. During a rematch, Camerupt would be added to the team.

Electric. Always been drawn to that type of Pokemon, but I'd want to be that kind of gym leader that can make a ton of electric puns from it too. e.g. 'I'm ex-static to be challenged by you!', 'Watt-ch me go all out!'.

Anyway.

My team would consist of this combo!

I'd probably be a psychic type leader. Still a big fan of psychic types since Gen 1 where they were super broken. Alternatively, electric types.

Thinking about my response to this question prompted me to spend a couple of hours looking up competitive strategies for a few Pokemon, so I even went and designed teams based on where I would be encountered in the League. So, the team varies a little bit depending on badge progress or if I happen to end up in the Elite Four.

My team is Fairy, but designed to be a little diverse. Being in a gym, I envisioned the idea of any challengers having to go through a gym designed to be a space station. The gimmick would be having to go through gravity chambers whose gravity can be changed by activating switches, and there are three possible choices: Normal gravity, low gravity, or zero gravity. Most chambers start as zero gravity, meaning instead of walking from place to place, you are floating in the air, and although you can change direction, it takes time for you to change direction if you are already moving. Low gravity just allows you to make big jumps off of ledges, so often you'd need to have this setting to land on the center platform of a chamber. When you finally reach the chamber I would be at, the gravity would need to be normal gravity, and at that point the challenge can happen. I would reward the Planet Badge upon being defeated, which would be a design of a planet not exactly like Earth's, but gives the appearance of another Earth-like planet.

As for my actual team, it does vary slightly depending on how many badges you have, but you would get this lineup battling for the 8th badge:

Ninetales-Alola (it is cold in space, after all)
Klefki (Steel is naturally something you would see in a space station)
Clefable (said to have come from space)
Togekiss (by changing the gravity, you're in the air longer, and this Pokemon is a master of the air)
Gardevoir (complete with Gardevoirite)
Azumarill (usually every gym leader has their signature Pokemon, this one would be mine)

If I were a gym leader, I'd specialise in dark type, but the team itself shall unusually also consist of other pokemon, in the style of Volkner owning an octillery and ambipom in gen 4. The badge will be the Crack badge, and the gym will exhibit structures of glass, crystals and glitter, while requiring trainers to use the bicycle to cross the crevasses.

The gym will be the 6th or 7th gym and the pokemon team is:
Krookodile, bisharp, mandibuzz, whiscash and venomoth.

Difficult choice between 2 types, Ice & Fire.

Ice-type gym:

Team: Dewgong, Jynx, Sealeo and Weavile

Team (Rematch): Lapras, Abomasnow, Glaceon, Alolan Ninetales, Walrein and Articuno

Badge: A simple shiny snowflake that gives off a little bit of heat

Gym design: Depending if it's the first match or the rematch. For the first match the gym would be inside a huge ice cave with a lake inside it. For the rematch you have to go through the ice cave to enter a secret frozen forest which has a lake as well.

Fire-type gym:

Team: Growlithe, Houndoor, Charmeleon and Magmar

Team (Rematch): Magmar, Charizard, Infernape, Houndoom, Alolan Marowak and Arcanine

Badge: A chunk of molten lava that looks like a volcano

Gym design: A simple basic gym building with nothing fancy. It is what it is. Straightforward.

Even though it's not one of my favorite types, I would likely be a Water type Gym Leader if I was given the opportunity. There's so much I could do with a team, especially with all of the combinations of secondary types available to me.

If I could have my top 3 picks, I would like to feature Azumarill, Slowking, and Empoleon on my team, with any mix of Lanturn, Carracosta, Crawdaunt, Kingdra, Ludicolo, Lapras, or Poliwrath as my supporting party members.

My first and obvious choice would be Fairy (Sylveon, Spritzee, and Comfey probably! I imagine myself as an early gym leader lol), but if I had to pick something else it would probably be Dark! Pokémon like Inkay and Tyranitar are always personal favorites. :)

I'll definitely run a Dark type Gym with Weavile as my signature Pokémon.
My other Pokémon: Hydreigon, Sableye, Houndoom (Mega), Honchkrow, Mega Gyarados, Drapion, Scrafty, Absol (Mega).
I will also often use one of these too: Gengar (Mega), Chandelure, Luxray, Venomoth, Noctowl.

Gym rules:
  • 3 vs. 3 Showdown : Trainers should bring 3 to 6 Pokémon but only 3 Pokémon can be called to the battle, so that adds some strategy to the Pokémon picks.
  • Dark Allegiance : Gym Challengers must bring AT LEAST one Dark Pokémon into the battle.
  • Hostility : Gym challengers make the first pick so I will have the advantage at the start of the battle to counter them!
  • Nocturnal : Also, the gym is open for challengers only during the night.

I'd have a Bird type Gym and battle trainers with one Missingno.

Just so that when they beat me I won't have a badge to give them because it's missing. Saves money that way, not that I need to save money.

I'd be a flying type gym leader if I could! I'd be in the late game so I could use some more diverse flying types (rather than just those that appear early in-game) such as Skarmory, Aerodactyl, Xatu, Drifblim, Braviary etc. Haven't really figured out a proper team but it would be something like that. :D

2nd Question: True or False, is Plusle and Minun counterparts? (answer=true

3rd question: What type is Ampharos when it Mega Evolves? (Answer= Electric and Dragon)

And what is your name " ( trainer name)"
"What a wonderful name for a shining star"

Nowadays I don't have a clear favorite type, but I guess I'd pick Flying. I'm going to assume the Unova Dex from B/W2 since those games are my favorites. I'll select different team rosters depending on when you'd battle me.

Gym 1: Pidove lv 13, Zubat lv 14
Gym 2: Tranquill lv 21, Gligar lv 21, Golbat lv 22
Gym 3: Tranquill lv 25, Gligar lv 25, Golbat lv 27
Gym 4: Tranquill lv 28, Gligar lv 28, Tropius lv 29, Crobat lv 31
Gym 5: Unfezant lv 32, Gligar lv 32, Tropius lv 32, Crobat lv 34
Gym 6: Unfezant lv 36, Gligar lv 36, Tropius lv 37, Skarmory lv 37, Crobat lv 39
Gym 7: Unfezant lv 41, Gliscor lv 42, Tropius lv 42, Skarmory lv 42, Crobat lv 44
Gym 8: Gliscor lv 48, Tropius lv 48, Skarmory lv 48, Braviary lv 48, Crobat lv 50

Post-League rematch 1: Gliscor lv 57, Tropius lv 57, Skarmory lv 58, Braviary lv 58, Yanmega lv 59, Crobat lv 60
Post-League rematch 2: Gliscor lv 66, Tropius lv 66, Skarmory lv 68, Braviary lv 68, Yanmega lv 68, Crobat lv 70
Post-League rematch 3: Gliscor lv 75, Tropius lv 75, Skarmory lv 77, Braviary lv 77, Yanmega lv 77, Crobat lv 80

A friend of mine and I have had this discussion multiple times. We'd likely have a poison/dark type themed double battle style gym.

My team would be:
-Houndoom
-Stuntank
-Zoroark

Their team would be:
-Alolan Muk
-Swalot
-Nidoking
