Well, I was trying to avoid a rant, but if you'd like more detail...she's a stuck-up, snobby little brat. Her superior narcissistic attitude really grinds my gears. She frequently acts like she's better than the others, disregards their feelings with infuriating regularity, and nobody ever calls her out for it. She reminds me of far too many people I've had to deal with over the years, and her presence ruined a lot of the enjoyment I got out of the show...the first season especially. I just don't like her. Surely you have characters you just don't like for their character - or what passes for it - also?

...and the Kotori shipping? Just...no. It's not even funny. Although I suppose that's a fandom thing.

I do like the parody videos, though. xD

Yeah that's Mari. And yes please watch Sunshine. Season 2 will be starting in October, so sometime during that season will probably be a good time to watch Season 1 for you.

I knew s2 was coming soon, I just wasn't sure when it was coming. Now - or next month, because I take forever to watch things - is probably a good time for Sunshine, then. Although I still need to watch the movie. Somewhen. I'm going on holiday in a couple of weeks, and the car ride is 4 hours. Maybe I'll watch it then. xD

Your hate of Umi is not common among fans and it's refreshing to see vitriolic hate not directed at Nico tbh (as per the demographic charts above, those who despise Nico just completely despise her to the point where she had more #9 ranks than any other member of Muse).

The thread I made is still here, yay!

I've been trying to get into Love Live but honestly I'm having a hard time loving the characters as much as everybody else does :( I know people love them as much as I love Idolmaster Cinderella Girls ones but idk. I really wasn't impressed by how generic most of them seemed in the anime when I first saw it, so I want to try it again.

Idk don't mean to be a downer but I really want to love them! I've been listening to a few songs from Love Live that I have been enjoying! Will post links when I get home haha.

Whitney I totally understand. To each their own and I respect your opinion. I'm only like... three episodes away from finishing Cinderella Girls myself and can't wait. In fact, I want to get through the rest before bed today. so far, Mio is my favorite <3 Riina and Miku are also important to me. Asterisk (and Candy Island) is the best unit.

In the anime in season 1 in particular, they tend to get overshadowed by Honoka's genki girl personality, which is a flaw. I just went in with no expectations and came away with a favorite that I know critically doesn't have great legs to stand on.

I knew a few of those were running, but holy crap. No wonder the "general anime community" is crapping all over Fall. The masses have an aversion to idol anime.

Though I'm probably only watching Sunshine of these shows for now because I've got a few other sequels and adaptations I've been waiting for that also air this fall.

I'll probably pick up Wake Up Girls! in addition to Sunshine S2. I really liked WUG's darker take on the idol industry, so hopefully this sequel will have more of that.
