Bypass plural item names

Hello, if anyone could help me out a bit I was wondering if it were possible to bypass the plural names of items when compiling a game on Pokemon Essentials 17.2 . I'd really prefer not to go through and add in over 700 bits of extra text line by line if possible, and if it turns out that I have to do that is there a way for me to just import the text file into a spread sheet and then back into a text file when I finish adjusting it?
