When you purchase HGSS, the games come with the Pokewalker, which is an accessory that would let you take one of your Pokemon with you when you're not playing the games and kind of walk around with them, as it were. You can even find items and catch Pokemon with it!

What are your thoughts on the Pokewalker, though? As the title says, did you end up using this at all?

To answer the title question: yes, I did use the Pokewalker. Not often, as I ended up losing it, but I did use it a few times. The Pokewalker was a nice idea--it gave us a way to bring our Pokemon out of the game and get out in a way we wouldn't see again until Go.

I think I messed with it for a bit, didn't really take it out for much use, and now it sits in one of my desk drawers, never to be used again.

I lost the clip to it too. :( I feel like it might have been thrown out, but I don't remember.

I feel like it was a cute idea, but I've never really made a use of it. In fact, I've barely taken it out of the box! Only enough to really look at it a bit, and put it back in the box. :< It just didn't interest me all that much.

I really liked the idea and the design of the Pokewalker and I did get to use it a few times, obviously it's pretty obsolete now, but I still have it sitting on my desk cause it looks cool :3

Ahahaha that brings back old memories. I didn't know that the PCs in the pokemon centers existed, and I thought my Bayleef was lost to the void xD
I ended up losing it, and my original game too. Unfortunately, the preowned games case at gamestop didn't have a pokewalker :p

I do think the Pokewalker was a pretty neat idea for what it tried to achieve! Every single gen after HGSS, I wanted an item like the Pokewalker to serve as some sort of fun accessory that can communicate with the games to encourage people to take their Pokemon with them if for any reason they're unable to take their DS systems with them and all.

Buuuut Pokemon GO exists so there's that. n.n

I did briefly, but only for a short time after buying the games. I've still got them upstairs but I haven't used them in years now.

Yes, but only when the games first came out. I hardly ever used it after about a month or two and completely stopped before the release of BW.

Out of interest, did it grow boring quickly for you after that month or two?

Yeah, I found myself wanting to play the game, not walk around and try to get a Pokemon before the league that I could just as easily trade an egg over from my Platinum cartridge

Yeah I sure did! Anytime I went out I would just take the PokeWalker with me. It was super easy to just throw in your pocket, so that's what I did.

I always took it with me when I went to school so my friends and I could connect and get Items. And when I got home I'd go out and walk around a bit in the yard and my cat would follow me! I even got the event-exclusive location with the Flying and Surfing Pikachu. I love the Pokéwalker!

I was such a sucker for the Pokéwalker.
I would use the guidebooks for the Pokéwalkers to obtain the Pokémon I want and just counting how many more steps to get this Magby or Dratini. I had soon much fun with it and got obsesseddddddd.

(P.S.- who else used to shake their Pokéwalker to get steps? cause I so did.)

My Soul Silver is 100% complete with the Pokewalker unused, still with the plastic inside of it to activate the battery.

I used to use whenever I went for a walk...

But it eventually ran out of battery and I lost it. :(

I didn't do that but I had friends who would tape theirs to a running fan to get steps.

*bursts out laughing* When it came out, I would literally take that damn thing everywhere! I remember I DANCED with it one time (literally was gripping it with all my might at my stupid dance class). Got an Elekid (or was it a Magby) that day from the Pokewalker and caught it. Man I miss HG/SS and especially the Pokewalker. I was a loser. :D

I used it a lot when I first got it, I especially enjoyed the special event routes - just a shame you can never get them back - I feel like there should've been a feature to increase reply value where events like extra pokéwalker routes, Shaymin and Darkrai should have remained in the card even when you start over - because otherwise you've just got all these accessible areas which don't work any more.

Battery ran out on my pokéwalker and I haven't replaced it though.

I used to take it everywhere until the battery died and I've never bothered to change it since.

I liked using it because I almost felt like my Pokemon was travelling with me. The only flaw with it however is that you couldn't hatch eggs with it.

I hope they bring out something similar with a future game because I thought it was a neat idea.

Actually, I still use my Pokéwalker! I always make sure to wear it before going on a long walk!

I still use my Pokewalkers as pedometers. The fun part is wearing both at once and seeing how different the numbers are.

I also hope for something similar to be released in the future! Even though I didn't use mine, I still liked the idea of it for those who enjoyed using it and it made the games themselves more fun. ^^

I wore it to school everyday, and waited until lunch break to check on the Pokémon I sent to it. The battery's long dead though, died before I even got anything rare or decent.
It was a fun little thing imo, too bad ORAS didn't have a similar feature.
