Wow, they will probably have aged a lot since the R/S and Emerald arcs, don't you think? I guess we'll have to wait and see if ORAS has new characters in the games or something though. But considering they even kept Kris as Lyra in the manga, it's likely they will keep Saph and Ruby too.

Also it's difficult to find HG/SS overall ._. I think (not sure) that they weren't given out as volumes, only as chapters in magazines.

And what about the B/W manga? Plz suspense kills me...

Aaaalso, maybe they haven't aged at all, like in the FR/LG arcs. But it will depend on the story of the remakes.

Of course they aged in the FR/LG saga :) Several years had gone by since the R/B saga so usually people say that Red, Green and Blue were 16 in FR/LG and Emerald. Yellow is around two years younger than them and Gold, Silver and Kris are... Maybe three years younger? And Ruby and Saph turned 11 in R/S so they are maybe still 11 or 12 in FR/LG/E. Of course, since they didn't appear at all in the Sinnoh or Unova sagas (I don't know anything about the Kalos saga), we don't know if they are going to be much older or only a little bit older in OR/AS. It would be cool to see teenage Ruby and Saph though! Maybe Ruby having become a bit more manly and Saph a bit more girly at last? ;3

I get the urge to reread the manga over the summer. Or at least continue with HG/SS.

Okay seems HG/SS was published in Japanese volumes :) Not in English though, I think? Black/White is published in Japanese volumes, but Black2/White2 doesn't seem to be volumized yet. And the X/Y manga is in progress, so I think (or hope) it'll be a while before OR/AS comes.

They have been published in both Japanese and English volumes. HGSS is scanlated.

Either you buy it from VIZ or wait for Team Special Scans to scanlate it. There are some magazine chapters that have been scanlated though.

Ah of course, that's why I didn't see volumes past FR/LG. They treat later sagas as different series O.o

Been running all over the internet searching for the black and white chapters but they all seem to be stuck at the few chapters. Why can't they update it with the official volumes? (rage) (rage)

Even HG/SS were a little hard to find.

I'm one of the current project managers of Team Special Scans, the group that is scanlating Pokémon Special into English. The problem is that our translator is busy at the moment and there is nothing we can do about that. We do however have some magazine chapters that will get released as soon as possible, but the volume chapters can't be scanlated before we have translations for them. If you can't wait, I recommend that you get the volumes from VIZ.

Okay, I guess I can wait. Living in Singapore, so no immediate access to Viz's stuff.

Popular coughs a couple of stuff now and then, just dig around.

I rarely post here... I only recognize Manga Reader, lol :C

So ummm.. I'm going to buy the last chapter of Pokemon Adventures R/S/E. And I was wondering if after that saga, should I start with FRLG saga or the D/P/Pt saga? I wanna read them in correct order, unless they dont have one and reading one before the other doesnt really matter?

Also, move this if it isn't in the right spot. I'm on my cell and kinda hard to navigate with crap WiFi lol.

Browsing PC on the cell is the worst yeah >.< I do it all the time. But not now actually!

Anyways, R/S is an epic adventure on its own. But after that, if you still enjoy the characters from the first three regions, you should definitely buy FR/LG, because the FR/LG arc leads directly into the Emerald arc. That's right. R/S and Emerald are separate, with FR/LG in between. All main characters appear more or less in FR/LG/E so it's like tying together everything that happened in the first regions.

This is, of course, assuming that you have already read the R/B, Yellow and G/S/C arcs. If not, FR/LG and Emerald won't make much sense to you!

After that, D/P/P is completely standalone. You only ever hear mentions and see silhouettes of the earlier dex holders iirc. I think it's even denoted as a different manga series at Viz?

A new English manga publisher in Singapore named Shogakukan Asia has started publishing Pokémon manga. So far they have published Pokémon Adventures volume 42, Be the Best! Pokémon B+W (more commonly known as Be a Master!! Pokémon BW) and the manga adaption of Kyurem VS. The Sword of Justice.

More info:

Shogakukan Asia preserves the original numbering of the Pokémon Adventures volumes without dividing the arcs into separate series, unlike VIZ and they do minimal cover edits. Also, VIZ has chosen to cut down on printing costs by leaving out a few colour illustration pages while Shogakukan Asia keeps the colour illustrations. So, to anyone wondering which edition to get - VIZ or Shogakukan Asia - I say definitely get the Shogakukan Asia editions. Let's show Shogakukan Asia support and VIZ the middle finger.

I'm so happy right now. Be the Best! Pokémon B+W is the first Pokémon manga - that isn't Pokémon Adventures or a movie manga - since Pokémon Diamond and Pearl Adventure! to get published in English.

Hmm, a Manga thread. I have read the Pokemon Adventures RBG Volume and I am currently reading Yellow. RBG was really fun, I liked Red's team.
