[Developing] Pokémon Coltar

Imagine taking a group of people out of time and separating them from the rest of humanity. Imagine placing them on an island with creatures they have never seen before. How would they develop? What would they produce better than the rest of the world? Where would they lack? How would they govern themselves? What laws would they use? This was the foundation behind this project. It was quite interesting to imagine a slightly odd world.

The project is being built using RPGMXP and Pokémon Essentials.



In 1557 twenty-two people from many different nationalities survived a shipwreck off the coast of the island now known as Coltar. Upon crashing on the shores of the island the survivors fled in land to escape the Pokémon that were hunting them in the night. They dove into a cave and hoped to have not been followed. An enraged Pokémon lurked in the dark and lashed out at the survivors. When all hope had been lost a psychic Pokémon appeared and outsmarted the beast. The beast was sealed inside the cave. As reward for their strength and bravery, the Pokémon carved out seventeen stones. Each stone possessing ultimate strength and control over a certain type of power found within these Pokémon. These stones were issued to one person in each of the seventeen bloodlines that had survived the creature. Phanouel Bello, owner of the Dark Stone and the man who first volunteered to fight the beast, became leader of the survivors.

In 1597 Bastille Clavouro, owners of the Ghost Stone, attempt to release the trapped beast to overthrow Phanouel Bello's son. When confronted by Bastille Bourbabel a battle raged. Bastille Bourbabel rendered Clavouro's plans useless. However, Igor Rett seized the moment to take power for himself. Using the knowledge of the stones, and the fighting stone which he possessed, he summoned the Psychic Pokémon from fourty years prior. When three of the Pokémon arrived they were able to re-seal the cave. Using the power of the Psychic Pokémon, Rett created the prophecy which would ensure the enraged Pokémon would never again threaten the island. Only when all stones are present alongside the chosen six can the seal be broken. Giratina will be free. These six souls shall represent everyone. The Good and the Bad. The Child, the Man (or Woman) and the Ghost. To further ensure no one would dare attempt to release the Pokémon once more he used the Pokémon's power to forever send the dead of the families of Bourbabel and Clavouro into the distortion world and revel in what he believed they wished for upon the regular world.

In the present day Coltar is divided once more. The Lords ruling over each of the four segments are at war with each other. You, born in the West are undergoing an awkward northern occupation. You keep having dreams. Dreams in which a man is speaking to you. The day after one of these dreams your brother comes to check on you before trying to wind-up the local northern captain. When his prank goes horribly wrong your time to shine arises. However, Austin is upset that you obtain your first Pokémon before him. Determined to prove himself to your father he sets off to rejoin the unoccupied West. Little to both your knowledge, the seventy third prophecy selection has just collapsed causing the prophecy to re-select its six components. Meanwhile, a group of people known as the Coltar Re-unification Party are seeking to over throw the Lords and reunite the island for the good of everyone, or so they claim...
