Spoiler:

E4 was pretty easy. Tracer swept a lot of it with ridiculous speed and suprisingly really good moveset (Volt Switch and especially Flamethrower came in cluth quite a bit). I was able to set up 3 Stockpiles on Maude for the Champion fight which made her an absolute beast.

Decidueye's Sun Monoyellow
Objectives: 6/11
Location: Paraíso Æther (Aether Paradise)
MVPs:
Totem Gumshoos: Norzen the Wingull
Kahuna Hala: Anne the Cutiefly
Totem Wishiwashi: Anne the Cutiefly
Totem Salazzle: Norzen the Wingull (Z-Move: Norzen's Hydro Vortex [Water Pulse])
Totem Lurantis: Braev the Quilava (Z-Move: Braev's Inferno Overdrive [Flame Wheel])
Kahuna Olivia: Janne the Jolteon

Pretty easy run so far. I had a lot of trouble with Salazzle, who 2HKOed everyone not named Anne, who was a 1HKO. Eventually just revived Norzen 3 times (and got lucky). Olivia was the other battle I thought was going to be an issue with 3/4 of my team weak to Rock, but Janne literally soloed her first try by Charge Beaming the Nosepass to death and +3 Hidden Power OHKOing the other two. I hope Vikavolt will just be a Braev steamroll and I might have a Minior to try out on ya boi Guzma.

Note that I'm guessing on some of these names, I don't know Spanish lol

Update on Ultimate Purple Monocolor Challenge.

Final Update (#4) on Platinum.
  • Started in Sunyshore City. Got Waterfall and used it to explore a bit.
  • Surfed to Victory Road, then boxed Missy for the trip through since I need Turtwig for Rock Climb .
  • Made it out without much trouble, then defeated Barry for the last time.
  • Did some grinding and EV training, as well as nabbing a Black Sludge from a wild Croagunk for Vexi.
  • Finalized movesets, then used all my Rare Candies to get everyone to L56 for the Elite Four.
  • Aaron was soloed by Acrobat's Earthquake, Aerial Ace, and Stone Edge.
  • Bertha was unexpectedly tough since Sluggish went down early on in the fight. I ended up using everyone for this fight. :O
  • Flint wasn't too difficult once the sunlight was cleared but he did take a team effort.
  • Lucian was handled by Missy and Freakout pretty easily.
  • Cynthia was quite tough as usual. I used everyone for this fight, and each member took down one of hers for a full team effort!
  • Here's the video and play-by-play of the Cynthia fight:

Update on Ultimate Purple Monocolor Challenge.

Update #1 on Black 2.

Name: Indigo
Rival: Hugh
Starter: Snivy
  • Activated Challenge Mode, then caught Whiskers the Purrloin on Route 19.
  • Beat Hugh in Flocessy Ranch, then after grinding a little, I took on the gym.
  • Cheren was very difficult to beat with only one Pokemon, and I had to try it a few times before I won.
  • Moved on to Virbank City, and after beating everyone in the Complex and doing a couple Funfest Missions, I took on the gym.
  • Just prior to fighting Roxie, Whiskers evolved into Liepard! That made the fight a lot easier, and I won without much trouble, though I did end up at 1 HP prior to leveling up.
  • After defeating Team Plasma, I headed to Castelia City.
  • Went straight for the Sewers, where after quite a long time searching, I nabbed Toxix the Grimer.
  • Beat as many of the trainers I could inside, then took on the Castelia gym.
  • Defeated Burgh after a couple tries, mostly thanks to Toxix's Eviolite helping her tank hits.
  • Beat Colress on Route 4, then saved the game.
Screens:
Spoiler:

Team Indigo:

Whiskers the Quiet Liepard, ♀ - L25 @ Amulet Coin
Ability: Limber
Moves: Pursuit, Return, Thief, Fake Out

Toxix the Adamant Grimer, ♀ - L28 @ Eviolite
Ability: Stench
Moves: Strength, Disable, Sludge Bomb, Mud Bomb

Ultimate Brown Monocolor Challenge (Moon) - Second and FINAL Update

Spoiler:

Thoughts on the last challenge of the game (and a video of the end of it) under the jump, to avoid spoilers in case you haven't played the game yet.

Spoiler:

This E4 is probably my favorite iteration yet, just for the record
-Hala was probably the hardest fight, and the one i took on first. He took out the majority of my team and I had to use two of my Max Revives to get through
-Olivia was easy. Invincible was great, Iron Defense is brokenly good. Belwas got some really good Quick Claw rolls in.
-Acerola was easy but tedious because of some choices I made. I got into a stall war with her Palossand vs. my Stark. Ended up using two PP restore items. If I could have gone back I would have re-taught Stark a Dark move.
-Invincible swept all of Kahili's team with Rock Slide and Iron Defense except for the last chunk of Crobat's health. Used a couple Ethers here too because Mandibuzz's defense is ridiculous
-The Professor was simple as well. Invincible pretty much swept him too, including one-shotting his Ninetales with Heavy Slam after a lucky Blizzard miss.

Hall of Fame video:

Whisperwind the Decidueye, Lv. 54 @ Spell Tag
Overgrow
-U-Turn
-Leaf Blade
-Light Screen
-Spirit Shackle

Stark the Fearow, Lv. 53 @ Sharp Beak

-Drill Peck
-Drill Run
-Double Team
-Return

Belwas the Hariyama, Lv. 52 @ Quick Claw
Thick Fat
-Poison Jab
-Bulk Up
-Seismic Toss
-Brick Break

Sunny the Arcanine, Lv. 52 @ Charcoal
Flash Fire
-Bite
-Flamethrower
-Extreme Speed
-Sunny Day

Invincible the Mudsdale, Lv. 54 @ Hard Stone
Own Tempo
-Iron Defense
-Rock Slide
-Heavy Slam
-Earthquake

Kelso the Raichu-A, Lv. 53 @ Aloraichium Z
Surge Surfer
-Thunderbolt
-Psychic
-Nasty Plot
-Volt Switch

Update on Ultimate Purple Monocolor Challenge.

Update #2 on Black 2.
  • Continuing from Route 4, I went north to Nimbasa City, then on to Route 16, where I nabbed Psyqueen the Gothita.
  • Trained up my team on the triners in Desert Resort and the other routes around Nimbasa City.
  • After roller-coating my way through the old gym, I took on the Nimbasa Gym.
  • Elesa was pretty tough because of Volt Switch being annoying, but I eventually was able to pull it out.
  • Soon after that, Psyqueen evolved into Gothorita!
  • Continued on to Driftveil City, and taught Signal Beam to Psyqueen and Seed Bomb to Whiskers with the Move Tutor.
  • After defeating Rood and receiving Zorua, I did some training around the city, then took on the gym.
  • Clay was too high leveled, so I did some more Audino training to get everyone to L36, then tried again.
  • Was finally able to take down Clay with the help of a crit Seed Bomb from Whiskers on Excadrill.
  • Went to the PWt, where I easily won the Driftveil Tournament, then I helped Hugh and Cheren take down Team Plasma.
  • Explored the rest of Relic Tunnel, where Toxix evolved into Muk!
  • Got Surf from Cheren on Route 6, then went through the Chargestone Cave to Mistralton City, where I saved.
Screens:

Ultimate Mono-Colour Challenge: Black

Update! Exams have been gnawing at my personal life, leaving me with little to no energy to narrate the events of these strenuous challenges.
Platinum, in particular, is a nightmare. Do forgive my lack of enthusiasm.

Generation I: (Remake) Fire Red - Status: Complete!
Nuzlocke Mode: On
Spoiler:
Final Team:

Nas | Snorlax

Lv. 68
Nature: Bold
Ability: Thick Fat
Moveset: Shock Wave | Surf | Earthquake| Blizzard

Kelis | Snorlax

Lv. 41
Nature: Careful
Ability: Immunity
Moveset: Body Slam | Yawn | Belly Drum | Toxic

Challenge locked!

P.S. Kelis died to a Sludge Bomb at the Fuschia Gym, and quite possibly disqualified this run, seeing as I didn't use her against the Elite Four. Do-over coming up shortly.

Generation II: (Remake) Soul Silver - Status: Starting Kanto
Nuzlocke Mode: On
Spoiler:

Current Team:

Eaz | Sneasel

Moveset: Taunt | Dark Pulse | Shadow Ball | Sand-Attack

Logic | Unown

Lv. 41
Nature: Careful
Ability: Levitate
Held Item: Exp. Share
Moveset: Hidden Power (Flying)

P.S. Yet another careless mistake. The irony is not lost on me.

Generation III: Emerald - Status: Complete!

Spoiler:
Final Team:

Lv. 66
Nature: Lax
Ability: Hyper Cutter
Held Item: Quick Claw
Moveset: Crunch | Brick Break | Flamethrower | Ice Beam

Mar - Banette

Lv. 63

Lv. 63
Nature: Mild
Ability: Insomnia
Held Item: Black Glasses
Moveset: Fly | Nasty Plot | Dark Pulse | Steel Wing

Fet - Umbreon

Lv. 57
Nature: Docile
Ability: Synchronise
Held Item: Quick Claw
Moveset: Bite | Dig | Confuse Ray | Sand-Attack

Dre - Unown

HOW IS THIS THING STILL ALIVE
Lv. 46
Nature: Timid
Ability: Levitate
Held Item: Exp. Share
Moveset: Hidden Power (Rock)

Em - Houndoom

Lv. 61
Nature: Sassy
Ability: Flash Fire
Held Item: Expert Belt
Moveset: Crunch | Thunder Fang | Flamethrower | Nasty Plot

Wavy - Weavile

Lv. 58
Nature: Naughty
Ability: Pressure

Moveset: Aerial Ace | Night Slash | Avalanche | Revenge

Bey - Giratina

Lv. 62
Nature: Gentle
Ability: Pressure
Held Item: Leftovers
Moveset: Dragon Claw | Earth Power | Shadow Force | Ancientpower

I cannot put enough emphasis on how tedious and infuriating the E4 training sesh has become. I found us to be sub-par at best throughout the challenge, Sinnoh is definitely among my top 10 nuisances.
Em and Wavy are barely pulling through, nearly lost them both four times, consecutively. There is no plan as of yet, grinding endlessly until I am satisfied.

Generation V: Black 2 - Status: Waiting
Generation VI: X - Status: Waiting
Generation VII: Moon - Status: Waiting

There's no need for that, the OP states that Black in Kanto is exempt from the 2 Pokemon rule, as Snorlax is the only one available. So you are good to go on that.

However:
You will need to get another Pokemon in SS for the Red fight, as at least three are needed for that to count. There are quite a few options available now so that won't be too hard.
Your Platinum file cannot use Giratina, legendaries with 600 BST and higher are banned from this challenge not to mention Nuzlockes in general. Drop it before you fight the E4.

Ultimate Red Monocolor Challenge (X) - First Update

Spoiler:

Badges: 4

Everything's going pretty smoothly so far. Decided to use Wormadam Trash Cloak in this run as per the new ruling on form colors. She was a bit tough to get off the ground because Burmy starts off with only Protect, but it was pretty worth it. Between the first and second gyms I decided to switch out my actual starter for the Kanto starter to get better type coverage, even though I won't be able to use the Mega Stone on him. Just beat the 4th gym and flew back to Route 3 to catch my Corphish.

Update on Ultimate Purple Monocolor Challenge.

Update #3 on Black 2.
  • Continuing from Mistralton City, I did some training on Route 7 and scaled the Celestic Tower.
  • During which, Psyqueen evolved into Gothitelle!
  • Skyla was a bit of a tough fight since Skarmory resisted almost all of my attacks, but we prevailed in the end.
  • Flew in a plane to Lentimas Town, and I caught Zeppelin the Drifblim and Stinger the Skorupi outside Reversal Mountain.
  • After some training, I went through Reversal Mountain with Bianca, and Stinger evolved into Drapion!
  • Arrived in Undella Town, then I caught RayRay the Mantyke and a Remoraid in Undella Bay.
  • Boxed Whiskers, and a couple quick battles later, RayRay evolved into Mantine!
  • Went to Route 14 and caught Shaolina the Mienfoo to replace Whiskers, and my team was complete.
  • After a little more training, I defeated Hugh at Undella City, then continued on through Lacunosa Town.
  • Defeated Zinzolin alongside Hugh, then coninued on to Opelucid and Route9, where I did some vitamin shopping.
  • Flew back to Undella City, ready to take on the trainers I skipped earlier, in order to prepare for the Opelucid Gym.

This was probably the hardest E4 run I've had in Kanto, and not even in a rewarding way. It just felt like Venusaur and Victreebel were just there to stall until Scyther came in to sweep. With everyone basically sharing the exact same weaknesses, it just felt like a Monotype without as much type coverage (as ridiculuos as it sounds). If it were any other game I would have been stoked about how powerful Scyther was, but here it was the only thing I had going for me. That being said, I am happy with how my Rain Dance strat turned out. Charizard would have been about a million times harder to deal with without it.

Update on Ultimate Purple Monocolor Challenge.

Update #4 on Black 2.
  • Continuing from Undella Bay, I defeated all the trainers I skipped earlier from there to Opelucid City.
  • While that went on, Shaolina evolved into Mienshao!
  • Entered the gym, and after sweeping through the trainers, I took on Drayden.
  • He was surprisingly the easiest gym leader up to now, mostly because of the attack power of Shaolina.
  • Team Plasma showed up and froze the city, but I defeated the grunts and Zinzolin again without much trouble.
  • The Shadow Triad stole the DNA Splicers, and I followed them to Humilau City, where I took on the gym.
  • Marlon was also pretty easy, mostly thanks to Psyqueen's great bulk + Leftovers comboing to tank hits.
  • Went to Route 22 and Colress gave me his funky machine, and I saved back in Humilau City.

Ultimate Black Monocolor Challenge (FireRed) - First and FINAL Update

Cross-posting this one with the Solo Challenge thread

Spoiler:

Badges: 8

This E4 run was more annoying than anything. I had to go at it twice, since the first time I noticed that my two major problems were attack drops on the champion fight (going into his Venusaur with -4 attack with no special moves really sucked) and just PP in general. So I went out and farmed PP items and replaced Yawn with Psychic, and I was good to go

Thick Fat
-Return
-Shadow Ball
-Psychic
-Earthquake

Apologies, but I don't think I can continue this challenge. My 3ds turned randomly off when I didn't know I had low battery on it. And I can't recall the last time I saved so, sorry. ^^'

Black 2 Blue Mono-Color - Update #2

Spoiler:
After getting the Basic Badge, I got the Habitat List from Bianca, then made my way through the rest of Route 20 and beat the trainers there while getting Pecha Berries from Cheren. The Dunsparce lady did get a bit tough with Rollout and Defense Curl even despite using Charm and Tail Whip with Bouncy. I arrived in Virbank City, where Roxie was mad at her father. Once there, I got some items from the people in town, and went to the complex. There were a few annoying opponents that would use things like poisoning, but overall we managed.

After I beat everyone there, I did some walking to get my team’s happiness up, and Bouncy became a Marill at Level 16. Emanate was about to become a Lucario at the same level, but I stopped that evolution because I felt like having Lucario for Roxie would be pushing it. I did, however, evolve Ashigatana into a Dewott, because I felt like that would be necessary. I didn’t level Dopey up to Level 16, though, because I planned to use him against the Gym trainers. That was exactly what I did, and after they were out of the way, it was Gym Leader time!

I began with Dopey against Koffing. I used Confusion, which did a little over a third, as her Assurance did ONE POINT over 1/3 my health. Another Confusion got her low, but she had an Oran Berry. Then her Venoshock got me to 9 HP. I used Disable to disable that, but she used Assurance anyway. I brought in Emanate, and used Work Up, while she only used Tackle for less than 1/3 my health. That went on for the next two turns, except she used Smog on the second, and poisoned me. I killed her and grew to Level 17.
Grimer was next, and I was hoping Return would OHKO her, but it didn’t. She finished me with Venoshock, and I felt stupid for it not even occurring to me that I had the Silk Scarf to give Emanate. I brought in Ashigatana, she healed, and Razor Shell did less than half and didn’t even get the Defense drop. Return got her in low orange, and her Venoshock didn’t do much. That allowed me to kill her with another hit and grow to Level 18 along the way.
Whirlipede was next. I switched to Bouncy, and she wasted Protect. She then blocked my Charm, then Venoshock did just under 1/3 my total health as I got in a Tail Whip. Another Venoshock had me at 1/3 as I used another Tail Whip, then she killed me. With only Ashigatana left, she used Protect like a coward to block my Razor Shell. I used it again, and it did over half, but she had the Sitrus Berry. Her Venoshock did slightly more than Grimer did, but another Razor Shell finished her and got Ashigatana to Level 19. THEN Emanate tried to evolve again, and I allowed it this time.

I got the Toxic Badge and TM09 for Venoshock. Then I went through Pokéstar Studios. which I know everyone hates except me (at least it’s funny to watch how much of a scared coward the Riolu-Man is). After that, I dealt with Team Plasma in Virbank City, and after Roxie apologized to her father and claimed his hysterically bad movie was quite good, we went to Castelia City. After getting the Bicycle, the very first thing I did was change Emanate’s nickname to Sapphire. I then found Clyde in front of the Gym, and Iris was close behind and asked me to come with her to the sewers. I did just that, and Hugh was close behind (I like his reaction to if I answer “Yes” to his question). I followed him into the sewers, and right away I went for the Team Plasma grunts. Thanks to good type matchups, we beat them easily. Burgh showed up, and I got HM04 for Strength from Hugh. And Colress showed up, too. I caught two Pokémon in the Relic Passage: a Roggenrola named Brimstone and a Woobat named Fake Love. At least one of them will be on my final team.

Afterwards, I bred an Eevee egg in my main White 2 version, which I then traded to this game and hatched it, and named it Icecap. I beat the trainers in the various places, including the Battle Company, the sewers and the Relic Passage, among other areas. A few of them hit hard, but none were really memorable. I would trade the Eevee to another Gen V game to get it to become a Glaceon, which I would trade back. After I had done everything I could in Castelia City, I got my entire team to Level 21, then took on the Castelia Gym. I beat the trainers, then came to Burgh.

I began with Ashigatana against Dwebble. I used Razor Shell first turn…and missed, while he used Rock Polish. But then he only used Faint Attack, which did roughly 1/4 my health. Razor Shell got him below 2/3, but his Sitrus Berry got him above half. And he used Faint Attack again for some reason, which got me below half, before I finished him.
Leavanny was next up, and I just let him finish me off with a Razor Leaf. Then I brought in Fake Love, and his Aerial Ace did over 1/3, but my Air Cutter OHKO’d with a critical hit. Sweet. And I grew to Level 23 as a result.
Karrablast came next, and I didn’t want this to get too boring, so I switched in Brimstone and took a Headbutt for very little. But then he used Struggle Bug which did alright, as I went for Rock Blast, which scored four hits and beat him.
Shelmet was last up. But he was faster and used Curse, which was less than ideal. Rock Blast did less than half, even with three hits. I switched in Sapphire, and he used Curse once more. I decided to go against that with Work Up, and he used another Curse. Same deal next turn. And the next. I then said screw it and used Return, which got him into the orange as he used another Curse and was at +6. He didn’t heal, and I killed him.

I got the Insect Badge and the TM for Struggle Bug, which sadly is only 30 power in this generation so it’s not as good. But whatever, we got that taken care of. Good stuff.
