"Come on, sister. Let's find our brothers!" The Grovyle-Ditto said, turning to Daricka. Unfortunately, it didn't seem that would be immediately possible as a large group of Ancients surrounded the rebels, hindering further progress. The Infernape charged forward with the Ditto, her flames flaring up as she narrowed her eyes, fully focused on the battle at hand.

After gauging how much energy she could spare, she burst into dark blue flames and zipped ahead of her companion. She smriked a bit when the Bastiodon in front of her braced itself, no doubt expecting to be hit by the Flare Blitz. It was only partly right. Instead of slamming into the Ancient with the full power of the Flare Blitz attack - which probably wouldn't have done muchh with the Bastiodon's high defences - she grabbed the top of its shield-like head and flipped herslef up and over, her hands leaving scorch marks where she had grasped. She landed on its back, facing toward the back of its head. She wrapped her blazing hot hands around its neck, letting it struggle as her hands scorched throught the rock-hard skin until it had melted away enough that she dcould crush it with relative ease.

She would have stayed and finished the job rather than let the beast lay there, twitching as it slowly died, but a pair of Rampardos had other ideas as they harged toward her side-by-side with their heads low. Daricka jumped at the final moment, landing on their heads and pushing them into the ground. While they lay defensless, she used up the last few moments of the Flare Blitz, coming down hard on them with Close Combat.

'Anymore of those and I'll probably go into blaze mode,' she speculated as the dark flames retreated from her body back to the flickering fire atop her head.

Penance Malum

Penance groaned as he regained consciousness. At first all he saw were shadows. The shadows slowly took shape and as he lifted his head his vision was enveloped by a bright light. Penance blinked his eyes furiously and noticed a shape moving near him. Penance managed to croak out a question, "Am I dead?"

Penance heard a chuckle, "No. Don't worry Mr. Gold Tribe, I have everything under control. Here, eat these. They'll speed the recovery process." The figure began to put something in his mouth and as Penance moved the object in his mouth he realized that it was a berry. Having no other choice than to trust the stranger Penance began to chew the berry and swallowed it. He felt a little relief flow into his injuries and he let out a relieved sigh that quickly turned to a cry of pain as the figure grabbed his arm. Penance nearly lept up but the figure held him down, "Hold on! I'm just putting it in a splint. I don't want you moving it around." Penance's eyesight was almost restored and he realized that the figure was a Chansey.

Due to his numerous injuries Penance didn't have the strength to even fight against the young soldier as she bent his arm over his chest. She wrapped his entire right arm in a cloth and used another piece of cloth and tied the two ends together. She raised his head and placed one end of the sling against the back of his neck and placed his wrist in the other end. Looking him over again the Chansey pressed against his ribs and he yelped, "I thought you were supposed to take the pain away!"

The Chansey shook her head, "Well, all you have is a broken arm and two broken ribs. You need more rest before you can head out there."

Penance gritted his teeth, "My brothers need me! I can't just abandon them!"

"All I'm saying is wait for a few minutes. In the meantime eat these oran berries. I'll let you go once these berries are gone."

Penance grumbled as he began to eat the berries. Looking around Penance noticed Beserker on the ground, dead. Penance sighed in relief and continued chucking berries down his throat hoping that he could get to his brothers in time.

Ignitus was not surpirsed when the Gallade dodged her physical attack, although she was somewhat surprised when he used her for leverage, even while she was blazing with heat from her flame charge. No doubt that would leave the Gallade with some burns on his hands. Not that it would matter much, both Gold and Silver Tribe members could endure great pain.

Ignitus skidded to a halt at the end of her attack, and spun around to find her foe, only to receive a glancing blow from another psycho cut. A glancing blow it may have been, but harde nontheless. The attack sent Ignitus skidding back a few more feet. She hadn't expected the Gold Tribe member to be so quick in releasing a counter attack, but she sould have expected it. By the time she recovered she found herself facing four Gallades, not just one anymore. Double team no doubt, if only she could figure out which one it was. Her enemy seemed to have stopped, waiting for her move, although Ignitus had no doubt that her opponent was up to some scheming.

Ignitus stared at the four Gallades for a moment, considering which one was the correct one, then just mentally shrugged. Then she threw out the most powerful overheat she could muster, hoping to inflict damage to the correct foe. The intense heat eminated from her, hundreds, if not thousands of degrees of heated air pulsed out from her, affecting both friend and foe around her, and most importantly, the Gallade. The correct Gallade stagered for a moment under such intense heat, and the copies faded into oblivion. That is what Ignitus loved about overheat, it was not particularly powerful, and against a Gold Tribe member it would do next to nothing, but it exposed them and left them weaker and distracted.

Now seeing her true foe, she launched another spray of shadow balls, if only to distract the Gallade, then she summoned her energy and used toxic on the Gallade. It would kill him slowly, but it would hinder him in battle and make him easier to defeat. If he did manage to escape her, the poison could keep him out of the battle later unless he found a healer. It would still slow the advance down though.

As Ignitus aimed her toxic at the Gallade, she noticed two things. The first was the fact that Beserker was lying on the ground with numorous gashes across his body, and Bold Tribe members standing around him. Beserker was dead. Oh well. The second was an absol charging straight towards her, probably another Gold Tribe member. After sending out the toxic, the thick poison shooting off towards the Gallade, she turned her attention to the absol, and launched a quick flame thrower in his direction, spraying the attack to create more of a wall of fire. It wouldn't hold for long, and the fire would burn out in a few seconds, but it would buy her precious time to asess the situation.

Hanso had a second to think, Oh, snap! before the Overheat flooded the area. He staggered back a couple paces, enduring the intense heat as best as he could. Hanso sensed that his copies were now gone. Likely that was the main goal of this heat. It wasn't particularly damaging, at least in the Gold Tribe warrior's case, but it still shifted his attention--

Hanso abruptly looked back up, now seeing Shadow Balls flying his way. Easier to dodge and slice through than to teleport, at the moment. Hanso was able to dodge a few of the Shadow Balls, while two struck him and pushed him back. He realized that this was the biggest danger to him in fighting Ignitus; if a few more hit, then Hanso would likely be out of commission for a while. The Gallade sliced through the last Shadow Ball, only to find thick poison coming right at him.

There wasn't even time to think anything at all as Hanso desperately tried to spin to the left. Not enough; his right forearm was covered with the toxic poison, immediately going to work. Hanso looked up as he heard something approaching. A Bastiodon was staggering closer, probably reeling from the Overheat. Hanso didn't care from what. He dashed over and struck the Ancient down before using its head-shield to quickly scrape off the poison that remained on his arm.

Once that was done, Hanso briefly rubbed his afflicted arm before whacking the Bastiodon again, frustrated. It didn't hurt so much at the moment, but he knew that the poison would take its toll over time, so long as it remained in his system. From the looks of the poison, Hanso suspected that it was worse than the average poison. He turned back to face Ignitus, who was spraying fire at... Hanso turned to look and found that Calamity, the Absol, was nearby. At least help is here, he thought. When's that Future Sight gonna hit? It was a strange feature of the attack: Hanso couldn't fire off a second one before the first hit.

His bracer was beginning to feel heavy. That was the one downside to it: enough fatigue, or poison, could make it weigh down more. Hanso's arm-blades glowed a bright purple, and he fired off several Psycho Cuts at Ignitus, their strength fueled by his own strength and will and frustration. There were several things Hanso could have said about Ignitus during those moments. After firing off the last Psycho Cut, Hanso extended his mind to find that of Calamity. After making mental contact on the surface, enough to send a telepathic message, Hanso relayed to the Absol, Watch out for poison. Don't expect me to stick around for too long.

With that out of the way, Hanso then created several illusionary copies of himself and charged with them, arm-blades still glowing purple, at Ignitus. The copies wouldn't do any damage at all, they were just distractions. Hanso didn't expect Ignitus to be able to discern the real from the fakes in the seconds she had.

Eternity City

As Calamity approached TrueStriker, Ignitus turned and noticed him closing in.

Damn, he thought in his mind. He had hoped to get the drop on the Sentinel and get a good hit or two before she could recover and hit back, but it wasn't the case. Instead, Calamity was faced with a spraying of Flamethrower heading his direction. He did his best to dodge the bulk of the attack, but the Sentinel's execution and speed was much greater than his own. The attack hit his mark, and the Absol grunted in pain, a slight burn developing on the side of his front left foot. Fortunately, the main point of the attack was to keep Calamity away, so it was not aimed directly at the Absol.

Fire was around the area, and Calamity was at an impasse for a moment as he waited for the fire to die down. As he waited, he could hear TrueStriker's telepathy at work.

Watch out for poison. Don't expect me to stick around for too long.

It gave enough info to know that Ignitus has poison attacks, so when the wall of fire died down, he would need to avoid both her fire attacks and poison ones. It also suggestion Hanso might have been poison.

As the flames died down, Calamity saw the Gallade charging in with double team clones at the Flareon. Calamity decided to assist now, aiming at the Sentinel with a powerful Thunder. The attack charged around the Absol, and was release in a bolt of yellow energy, as fast as...well, lightning.

***************************************************************

Speculum attacked a charging Bastiodon with a Razor Leaf, but it only slowed him down. The Pokemon kept charging, and Speculum launched another Razor Leaf. The Pokemon was finally brought down, but a Carracosta was right next to him. Speculum launched a Leaf Blade at the Pokemon, and it immediately fell too. Speculum smirked confidently. Most of the Ancients were rock and water types, perfect against his Grovyle form.

Unfortunately, strong as his attacks may be, it didn't help if more kept coming at him. Many were still quite strong. As the Carracosta fell, a Kabutops, a Rampardos, and an Omastar went in from behind. Not being quick enough to react, Speculum settled with aiming for them individually, and would suffer the burden of enduring the other two's attacks afterward. He aimed for the Carracosta, bringing it down relatively quickly, but the other two overwhelmed him and force him back with a Slash and a Take Down. Speculum fell hard on the ground.

"Oww..." He muttered to himself. "That's what I get for gloating..." The Two Ancients closed in, preparing to deliver another set of attacks. Speculum raised his arm in hopes of cushioning the blows, closing his eyes and covering them as he prepared for the hits.

They never came. Speculum heard two swipes, and when he opened his eyes, the Pokemon were on the ground, and "Rey" had his claws raised in a pose. The Rebel leader turned to the awestruck Speculum, and offered him a hand up. Speculum accept, and as he stood, Speculum thought he caught a smile on the hooded face.

"Thanks." Speculum said. "Rey" simply nodded, then pointed to the far side of the battle. The Ditto-Grovyle squinted his eyes to see what he was pointing at to see it was Zane and Gladius fighting off foes.

"Right! Let's rejoin Vigil and Sword and Shield!"

"Rey" nodded again, and darted forward.

He's fast, thought Speculum in his mind. Replicus charged behind him, and the two Pokemon wreaked havoc on Ancients in their way. The other rebel Pokemon followed behind in their footsteps.

Gladius Clipeum

Berserker coughed up blood on Gladius' second punch. Vigil came in and, with a Swords Dance boosted Iron Head, finished him off. The Berserker was down, and by no means would it be able to stand up once more. His armor was besmirched with grime and blood. Gladius was sure this would be some of the last breaths of the Sentinel. Berserker was dying.

"You think this is over? Ha....You think any of this will help? Even....ugh....even if you defeat me, and take Eternity....even if you somehow defeat the other Sentinels, and make it all the way to Silver City....hahaha...there is still...Auron, and none of you...ugh ahaha....none of you can defeat him. He cannot be stopped, he cannot be fought...hahahahahahahaha....ugh....HAHAHAHAHAHA-" whatever Berserker, no... Armoid was going to say was lost. Vigil immediately executed the double-dealing Gold Tribe member with a Guillotine.

"So you pass, Alex Ares, "Armoid", from this world. May your spirit find peace in the halls of immortality..." Vigil silently said, staring at the carcass of the dead Sentinel. There will be no rituals for him because of his double crossing. One Sentinel down.

"Come on, brother. This battle isn't over yet. Defender is tough. He'll be back, once he's healed, he'll catch up to us. We have to go see if the rebels are alright." Gladius was far ahead of him. Gladius ran off away from Alex. In his mind, all he saw was the war, and Eternity City' liberation. He felt he could defeat any Sentinel that will come his way. Gladius smacked all Ancient he could see, defeating them in one hit, and not giving them a chance to hit back. Vigil was also doing well, his hits doing more damage than before. So this is what i call adrenaline rush.

"Right! Let's rejoin Vigil and Sword and Shield!" a shout arose from his side. He looked at that direction and saw Speculum in his Grovyle form, and a hooded figure, leading the rebels. Could this be Rey? Gladius was momentarily distracted, but that moment proved to be disastrous. A Kabutops managed to pin him down on the ground with its scythes. An Anorith scuttled beside him and sent a Rock Blast, smack right in his face.

"Ow!" Gladius cried out in pain as each rock hit him. Even though it is small, the Anorith could do so much damage on him. Gladius tried wriggling free of the Kabutop's scythe, but it was pressing much harder. He felt his skin break, and a trickle of wet blood flow down his back. Is this how I am going to die? A Carracosta saw the commotion and approached the pinned Gold Tribe member. Now he was out of the view of the others. He must do this alone, or die. The Carracosta bit down on top of the Snorlax' head. He roared in pain.

Penance Malum

Penance shoveled down the last of the oran berries and squirmed as the Chansey finished looking him over. "Alright. Most of your injuries aren't as serious now. The arm will have to stay in the splint until it heals and it looks like your ribs are healed. The berries are still working on fixing your body so as long as you don't get pummeled you should be back to perfect health in a few minutes. Just make sure not to get hit too hard in you arm and ribs. They will still be very tender after they are healed and a powerful attack could break them again. Other than that there's nothing more I can do."

Penance gave her a quick thank you as he started off to where the battle was. As he ran through the area Penance suddenly felt very fatigued. He managed to lean against a wall and panted. Looking around he noticed the bodies of both Soldiers and Ancients littered around. The fighting wasn't too far away, but for now he had to catch his breath.

Penance forced himself to stand back on his feet and took deep, slow breaths. He had to pace himself. The Chansey had said that the berries were still working. At the present he just had to make sure his only opponents were the Ancients. Once the berries healed him he could find his brothers and help them take out the other Sentinels. He steadied himself and continued running until he saw the Ancients. Penance shot out some water pulses and began moving through the chaos.

Penance made sure to stay on his guard and not get swarmed as he moved around the battlefield. Just as he finished sending a water pulse at a Aerodactyl Penance spotted Vigil in the crowd. "Vigil!" Penance shouted. At that moment a Kabutops charged at him and attempted to slice him with its scythes. Penance barely dodged the attack as the Kabutops instead sliced through Penance's splint. Penance jumped back and moved his arm blinking in suprise. Looked like the berries had finished their job. "Thanks for that!" Penance shouted at the Ancient before blasting it with a water pulse. Penance concentrated and grabbed an Omastar with his confusion attack and slammed it onto the ground. He didn't even feel an inch of fatigue.

"Vigil, I'm going to find the others!" He shouted as he moved through the crowd, blasting any ancients that blocked his path. Penance suddenly heard a roar of pain. He looked over and saw Sword and Shield being pinned by some Ancients with a Carracosta biting his head. "Hey leave him alone!" Penance shouted as he shout out multiple water pulses at the Ancients. Most of them turned and headed straight for Penance. Penance grabbed the Carracosta with confusion and slammed its body into the other ancients, knocking them off of Sword and Shield. As Penance finished up with the Ancients he suddenly saw some fire in the middle of the battlefied. None of the ancients knew fire attacks and none of his brothers knew fire attacks either, that meant that he had just found the second sentinel! "Sword and Shield head to the fire! It's a Sentinel!" He shouted as he ran to where he had last seen the flames.

Ignitus tried to dodge the bolt of lightning streaking towards her, and was quite unsuccesful at it. The thunder hit her and blasted her a few feet backwards, making her land on her back, and skidding a few feet. By quite a stroke of luck, the thunder attack had actually pushed her just out of the way of another round of psyco cuts coming from the gallade. Ignitus quickly rolled onto her feet again and pushed herself up, only to fall to her knees again, a future sight attack dealing a painful blow. By the time that she got to her feet once again, the absol had joined the battle, and the gallade had used double team once again and multiple gallades were charging towards her, coming in for an attack.

It was too fast and too well executed of an attack to dodge, and there was no time for another overheat. Ignitus would have to try her luck in finding the right one this time, before the right one found her. She used a flame charge, aiming towards one, only to pass right through it. The illusion dissapitated as if it was only thin air to begin with. Spinning quickly, she used flamethrower to try to score a collateral on two other Gallades, but she had guessed wrong again, as the two fakes disappeared into nonexistance. Just as the two fakes vanished, the real Gallade struck her in the side with his bracer, tinged purple with poison, throwing her a few feet, leaving her with a nasty bruise on her side.

Ignitus noticed that so far, the absol had stayed out of the battle for the most part. Probably because he did not know which Gallade was real either, and he would not want to hurt another Gold Tribe member. Perhaps she could use this somehow, use their own attacks against them. It would be risky, but if she could manuever herself and them correctly, she might be able to get some of the ranged attacks to strike each other instead of her.

She quickly rolled to her feet once more, prepared to put her plan into action. Now that all the illusion Gallades were gone, Ignitus could see that the real one was still trying to attack her, and the absol seemed to be chargin in as well. When the Gallade tried to take a swipe at her, she rolled under the attack past the Gallade and then quickly turned and launched some more shadow balls while the pokemon's back was turned. Not having time to see if the attack hit, she turned 180 degrees towards the absol, and launched a flame thrower to drive the absol back some more and give her a little more breathing room. Now she kept both opponents in her peripheral vision, one on each side of her. Now she waited for their moves...

Gladius Clipeum

The weight of several Ancients were unbearable, especially if one of them is biting your head, another pinning him down with his sharp scythes and another sending Rock Blasts on his face. Within moments, Gladius felt hot blood flowing from his nose.

"Hey leave him alone!" a voice said from afar. A nearly unconscious Gladius heard it. It sounds so familiar. A few moments later, he felt several drops of water on him. The weight on his whole body seemed to be lifted. With much effort, Gladius tried to open his eyes.

Defender was well already. Apparently, the Alpha Alliance medics were good at what they do, having Defender up and running again, after a few hours. The Golduck fired off a confusion attack, sending the Carracosta slamming with its tribe. Gladius could have given the Golduck a small smile, of not for the pain he is feeling his whole face. Defender looked up to a distance.

"Sword and Shield head to the fire! It's a Sentinel!" Defender shouted, clearly oblivious to the fact that Gladius is lying on the mud, bleeding. Defender ran off. Gladius assumed that his brother is going to assist in defeating yet another Sentinel. Armoid was down. Gladius hoped that was enough to turn the tides.

He tried to stand up, despite being battered and bruised. He winced in pain, as his body inched upward. "Arceus sake, why now?" Gladius' face is twisted in pain. He stood erect, blood pouring from his face, his right eye was swollen, his left arm limp. I survived a Sentinel skirmish, and yet I nearly died in the hands of a mere ancient? With the true pride of a Gold Tribe member, Gladius started to walk, even if every bone in his body shrieked in protest. A fire erupted to where Defender ran off. That is where I am suppose to go. And he continued, fueled by his Gold Tribe pride.

But, nothing lasts forever. Gladius "Sword and Shield" Clipeum, like all men injured beyond immediate repair, fell, his consciousness slipping away from him.

(OOC: Gladius is not dead! He is merely in a coma-like state. :) )

Penance Malum

Penance had been running when the ground suddenly shook with a loud thud. At first Penance looked around, wondering if another Sentinel had showed up, and then he spotted Sword and Shield face down on the ground. Penance groaned and ran to his brother. He shook his shoulder, "Sword and Shield get up! Come on! You've been though much more than this!" He reached under the Snorlax and tried to push him up but his brother's weight alone caused Penance to fall down on his rump. "Okay... *pant*... you're heavy."

The ancients that had been fighting nearby noticed Sword and Shield and began heading toward the two. Penance groaned, "Oh, come on!" He readied some water pulses and fired them off of the growing crowd. The only problem was that with Sword and Shield's big body he had to constantly run around blasting any ancients that got too close. Penance suddenly had an idea and began to climb on top of the Snorlax, "Sorry for this brother."

Now on the high ground Penance was able to cover all the areas of Sword and Shield. For a while he was just throwing water pulses when he suddenly felt a sharp pain in his right arm. Penance cried out in pain but still sent out water pulses with his good hand. The oran berries had healed his injuries, but his energy was still drained from his fight with Beserker. He had to pace himself, if he didn't he would join Sword and Shield on the ground. He managed to throw some Omastar with his Confusion attack when his vision began to sway. Penance shook his head and continued firing off water pulses with is good hand, every so often using his right hand to fire off a pulse.

It seemed that Penance's efforts were in vain though. For each ancient he knocked down two more took its place. Some soldiers had finally noticed his dilemna and were trying to stem the flow of ancients heading to Sword and Shield but they were vastly outnumbered. Penance breathing slowly descended from light panting to heavy gasping breaths. He had never fought so many ancients before, but he needed to protect Sword and Shield!

Vigil, Hoodhide, Calmity... Someone... anyone.

All Penance could do for now was continue attacking and hope that he wouldn't black out again.

Eternity City

Calamity couldn't tell for sure, but he believed the Thunder had missed its mark. Calamity shook his head in disappointment, but this was bound to happen, as Ignitus was, after all, a Sentinel. As he waited for the opportune moment to strike, he watched TrueStriker and Ignitus to exchange blows. A powerful Future Sight attack had just hit Ignitus directly, but against a Sentinel, it wasn't quite enough to fully stop her.

Calamity paced, and then, when the other double team clones were down, chose this moment to strike. Ignitus retaliated with another Flamethrower. Calamity jumped back to avoid the flames, though a bit burned him on his paws. As the flames slowly died down, Calamity charged forward, aiming at Ignitus with a Night Slash.

**************************************************************

"Vigil!" Zane heard somone shout from behind him just as he brought down an Anorith. It was Defender, up and about so quickly. Zane nodded, glad his brother was alright. But that is to be expected.

"Vigil, I'm going to find the others!" Defender said. Zane was about to say that he would join him, but a group of Ancients surrounded him, and he engaged. He would have to catch up with him later. A Rampardos came charging in with a Headbutt. Zane took that as a challenge, and met the Ancient with an Iron Head of his own. The two clashed for a moment, but the Rampardos' head gave way, and cracked, and the Ancient was pushed back. Two Armaldo now ran at Zane, claws swiping at him with a duo of Slash. They were bigger, but Zane was faster, and avoided the claws, while performing a series of deadly Aerial Aces on the foes. Like lightning, the attacks were quick and precise, and the Ancients fell just as fast.

Zane looked around to see Defender nowhere in sight. He noticed flames come from the side of his vision, and noticed Ignitus. Two of his brothers were battling him now, and Zane decided to go in to help. However, More Ancients poured in, and he was surrounded by over a dozen of them. The others were going to have to hold off on their own.

****************************************************************

A growing crowd had begun to surround Defender, who stood on top of Sword and Shield's unconscious body. As the Ancients appeared to surround him, a few Ancients fell in from the side and were knocked out. Some of the Ancients enclosing in on Defender turned to meet the new challenger. They looked around, but couldn't immediately see the Pokemon from the crowd of Ancients, until he clear out a bit more with a Hi Jump Kick.

Suddenly, Hoodhide came racing forward to Defender's position as he nailed a Kabutops straight on the jaw with a Hi Jump Kick. The Gold Tribe member was small, but had tremendous leaping ability. He positioned himself close to Sword and Shield's body and gave Defender a grin.

"Looked likeyou mayneed some help!" The Pokemon said in his high pitched, very fast way of speaking. Hoodhide prepared to engage the Ancients while preparing a Dragon Dance. He felt his blood boil faster in his veins as the ability took effect. Hoodhide, small but fearless, leaped right at a Bastiodon, and aimed at it with a Dragon Claw. The Bastiodon never saw it coming, and the Scrafty grinned in please. However, another Bastiodon charged in from behind, and slammed right into the unsuspecting Hoodhide. Hoodhide's body was launched right into Sword and Shield's unconscious one. Thankfully, the fat of the Gold Tribe member cushioned the impact. Hoodhide patted the fallen Snorlax.

"Thanks forthe support brother!" He then leaped at the Bastiodon once more, and ferociously attacked him with a High Jump Kick. The Pokemon fell back quite a distance. It was interesting to see such a more smaller Pokemon send a bigger one this far away, but looks have always been deceiving.

But that wasn't the end of the Ancients. Many more kept coming, and the Scrafty groaned. Three Kabutops charged at Scrafty, who prepared himself, but two of the Kabutops were hit from the side, one by a Razor Leaf coming from Speculum, and another taken down by a mighty Crush Claw from the hooded Rey. The two Pokemon joined the three Gold Tribe members in the center of the mass of Ancients.

"We're here to help too!" Speculum yelled.

Some of the Ancients now hesitated to move forward for a moment. They were almost mindless beings, but built in them was the commands to follow. Yet in the time since the war began, many developed an understanding for the enemy they faced. They showed no emotion in their extinction of Alpha Alliance soldiers. However, they knew the insignias of the Gold Tribe, and have come to secretly fear it. They know what a single Gold Tribe member could do. But what was even worse is many remember what a group of Gold Tribe members could do together.

In front of them shined the emblems of five gold insignias, even if one of them happened to be knocked out at the moment. With the Ancients hesitating for a moment, Speculum grinned and spoke.

"Our turn!" He said, and ran right at them. Hoodhide sped across as well, holding up his pants. Rey silently ran forward as well.

Now it was the Gold Tribe's turn for some offense.

Note: This part of Gladius' story will be told in the first person POV.

Gladius Clipeum

Why is it dark? Where am I? Hello? Defender? Vigil? Anyone? Is anyone out there? What happened to me? Hello? Sword and Shield here. Hello? Anyone? Hey! Anyone! Please answer me!

My please for help went unnoticed. In this dark world, I am alone. No Alpha Alliance, no Sentinels, no Ancients. No Gold Tribe members. I am alone, and yet I am restless. I am supposed to be in the war! And yet, I am... Where am I exactly? This is unbecoming of a Gold Tribe member. I must return to the battlefield!

Suddenlhy, I heard explosions to my right. "Our turn!" that voice seemed familiar, though I cannot quite place whose voice is it. "I'm going there!" I shouted back. I lumbered forward to the direction of the voice. I knew I was making progress, because the sound is getting louder and louder. "I'm here!"

Suddenly, the sound was lost altogether. I felt like I was falling, though I cannot possibly know for sure. The darkness seemed like an impenetrable curtain. I could see nothing. I kept on falling.

Penance Malum

As more Ancients surrounded Penance all he could do was keep on using his water pulses. Penance was almost out of energy when some of the ancients toppled over. A small scrafty appeared, "Looked likeyou mayneed some help!" Hoohide said. Penance gasped in relief, "Thank Arceus!" Penance managed to get out a few more water pulses when he noticed Hoodhide performing a Dragon Dance. Wasting no time Penance focused on his brother and used Psych Up. Penance moved his hands in front of his eyes and sent out a hypnotic wave that sent him into a trance. The only image in his mind was Hoodhide using Dragon Dance and as soon as the trance ended Penace suddenly felt quickly and stronger.

With Hoodhide supporting him Penance managed to slow down just a bit and take some time to actually breathe between his attacks. Still, between the two of them there were still too many Ancients and Penance knew that if more help didn't arrive then Hoodhide would become as exhausted as he was. Penance rubbed his bracelet as he asked for a miracle. The bracelet granted his wish as two more pokemon appeared. Speculum was still in Grovyle form and had used a Razor Leaf on some Ancients while a hooded pokemon had used a Crush Claw. At first Penance was slightly confused as to who the hooded one was. He hadn't seen any of the soldiers wearing a cloak and he was pretty sure he would recognize any of his brothers. As the pokemon turned Penance caught a glimpse of his face and gasped, a Zangoose.

No, Rey was dead. Everyone had told him that Rey had died in battle. Penance had never met Rey before, the one time he had been due to see Rey had been at some celebration for new graduates. The war had broken out and of course Rey had left to fight the Silver Tribe. Now he was right here... and Penance was fighting alongside him! The Ancients seemed frozen, and for good reason too. They were now fighting four Gold Tribe members. Penance could see it in their eyes, they knew they had no chance.

"Our turn!" Speculum shouted as the others ran straight for the Ancients. Penance took in a deep breath and formed a Water Pulse in his hand. He moved around his right arm and grinned. He held the Water Pulse in both hands as he infused psychic power into the ball and threw it at the Ancients, "Water Bomb!" he shouted as his bomb hit the Ancients. Penance hadn't been conscious when his Water Bomb had hit Beserker but his eyes widened when he saw the psychic enegery flow out of the bomb and cause many of the Ancients to fly into the air. "Woah..." He muttered. Suddenly a wave of fatigue hit him and he staggered for a second. The energy needed to form his bomb was much more than he had anticipated. Okay, lesson learned. Use bombs only in a tight fix.

Penance sent out two more water pulses to strike the crowd and grabbed a Lileep with Confusion and began slamming it into other Ancients. He released it and jumped off Sword and Shield, "We'll be back brother." He said as he ran toward the Ancients, shooting off his water pulses, with both hands, as fast as he could.

Daricka "Wildfire" Cambar

Daricka spotted Speculum and "Rey" dashing off and her gaze flitted in the direction they were going to see a Bisharp and Snorlax, both of which appeared to be members of the Gold Tribe. Daricka punched an Omanyte as it tried to cling to her leg in an attempt to slow her down and heard satisfying crack as the Ancient's shell broke and it let go with a cry of pain. The Infernape quickly followed the Grovyle-Ditto and the hooded figure of "Rey". She scowled in annoyance when an assortment of Ancients blocked the way.

Not wasting any time, Daricka lit up a mild Flare Blitz, but instead of being enveloped in flames only her arms caught fire as she concentrated the heat on those two limbs. Spinning around like a ballerina with her arms flailing out on either side, the flames were blown away from her arms and into the faces of her attackers. The attack wasn't meant to do much damage, just distract them long enough so she could get by. It worked as the Ancients shielded their faces from the fire, allowing the Infernape to dash by them in pursuit of her allies.

The other Gold Tribe members were already back to battling the Ancients, sending off ferocious attacks, though she could see that one of them, the Snorlax she had seen earlier, was unconscious on the ground. She cast a glance at Rey and the Ditto, a bit put-off at being left behind, but she couldn't exactly blame them.

Crossing the short distance left in leaps and bounds, Daricka came to a stop by the fallen Snorlax. She whirled around, her tail making contact with a Kabutops behind her and sending it backwards a few feet. The Infernape lunged at the Ancient, grabbing its arms below the scythes so it couldn't cut her as she pinned it to the ground. A burst of extreme heat hit the Kabutops. It didn't take long for the Heat Wave to eat up the oxygen around it, causing the Ancient to suffocate.

Daricka got up and took deep breath as she used Calm Mind, letting her mind go blank. It was more difficult to keep up when actually fighting, but she didn't have time to rest and she had a feeling she would need more strength in the fight ahead. Taking another, even deeper breath, she exhaled it all in a fierce Heat Wave, directing it front of her so it wouldn't hit anyone of the Gold Tribe. Her flame flickered darkly as heat was transferred from it to the atmosphere, and the area before Daricka shimmered and blurred from the intense heat. The Ancients staggered, sweat forming on their skin, and some even fell over, either unconscious or struggling to breath, which was made even harder as the oxygen was slowly eaten away.

When most of the Ancients close enough to be hit by the attack had fallen, Daricka ended the Heat Wave. The prolonged attack had taken its toll and her mind wavered as exhaustion started to creep in. This interrupted her Calm Mind, leaving her with only the attack power she had left. She could tell her Blaze ability would be activated soon, but she held it back; best to save it for when she desperately needed it.

Hanso grinned as his copies distracted Ignitus long enough for him to land a hit; it grew a little when his Future Sight attack also hit. Unfortunately, the Gallade had kept swinging his arm-blades at the Flareon after his initial charge. He regretted his decision when, after one particular swipe, Ignitus dodged, and Hanso spun around to find some more Shadow Balls. His arm-blades still glowing with Psycho Cut, he desperately tried to parry as many of the Shadow Balls as he could. His right arm was dragging, though, so the last few still made their way past Hanso's defense and struck.

Hanso was pushed back several paces, the last few from his own staggering. He dropped to one knee, panting in exhaustion and pain. His right arm felt aflame, and that feeling had begun spreading to the rest of his body. The battle was taking its toll on him, especially this latest skirmish with Ignitus. Looking up, Hanso saw fire in the air between the Flareon and Calamity. He shook his head, trying to clear his vision. It was getting hazy around the edges.

Hanso suddenly teleported to a standing position a few paces to his right, dodging the Slash that came down from a Kabutops that had tried to sneak up behind him. Hanso's left arm-blade glowed green as he turned and swung a Leaf Blade up into the Ancient's chin, sending it up a foot or two before the Kabutops collapsed. A critical point, then. Hanso turned to look at Ignitus again, creating another light blue ball between his hands and sending it off to strike her later. These Future Sight attacks often caught the opponent in surprise, usually if Hanso wasn't seen doing it.

For a few seconds, Hanso fought himself in making a decision. He could fight as long as he could and risk falling unconscious, at least, or withdraw to find a healer and leave Calamity to face Ignitus alone. Hanso finally decided.
He would drop if he had to.
Hanso's arms glowed a bright blue with Psycho Cut, then he began running at Ignitus, noting that Calamity was running in with an attack ready. Several paces from the Flareon, Hanso threw a couple Psycho Cuts at her before teleporting, reappearing directly behind her and swinging his left arm-blade, hard, at Ignitus' back legs.

As Hazone took off the Breloom gave him a quick bow and said, "Thank you for the Honor." After the General left, Kivir looked at the small group and relayed his plan to them and after a 3 minute brief of their objective they set out. Both the Zorua and Zoroark worked on illusions as they crossed the front lines of the battle. Here the enemy would most likely spot them, but the two illusion Pokemon worked together perfectly and with timely coordinated movement they were able to push into enemy controlled territory unnoticed. From there the Zorua and Zoroark took turns resting and keeping the illusions up as they moved toward the center of the city. Thankfully at first most of the ancients were too busy rushing to the center of the city to notice any irregularities caused by the illusions. However as they moved closer to the inner wall they began encountering Ancients who had decided to stand their ground and guard the area they were in instead of joining the main force.

The first of these ancients could be evaded by dodging in and out of buildings along with both the Zorua and Zoroark working together to create almost perfect illusions to hide their movement. However They did encounter two ancients they had no chance of sneaking past, after a quick planning session Kivir decided the four digging Pokemon would under them then ambush them from underneath. This quick plan worked perfectly as each of the ancients were suddenly attacked by two digging Pokemon each. The two Psychics were on standby to deliver a little more damage if it was needed. The Dugtrios and the Excadrill delivered powerful blows as soon as they burst from the ground. The Excadrill cut deep into the throat of the Kabutops he had targeted instantly silencing it. Two Dugtrios dug under the other ancient and made the ground under it collapse. They quickly covered the hole burying it alive. They then proceeded to attack in while it was underground and unable to call for help. The four soon rejoined the group, and Kivir smiled at them and said, "Good job… let us press on." They then rushed down the now empty street and when they turned another corner in the maze of a city they looked up at their target, a massive wall that kept them out of the central courtyard.

Kivir turned toward the group and told them to split up he would go with the Excadrill, a Dugtrio, the Kirlia, the Zorua, and the Rampardos. "Strike hard, strike fast, and then fade into the shadows, " said Kivir as the two groups split up. The Zorua held the illusion as long as he could, but after about 10 minutes Kivir's group had to resort to doing their best to hide. After a minute of their improvised sneaking Kivir was too uneasy to continue any further so he said to the digging pokemon, "Dig here, remember weaken the foundation, so the wall will be unable to withstand an attack." The Excadrill and Dugtrio nodded and tore through the floor boards of the square building, which looked like an abandoned home, they were in and then began to dig a tunnel. Kivir and the other three waited inside a as the two diggers completed their mission. Kivir watched the ancient guards on the wall, the Zorua rested, the Kirlia paced, and the Rampardos just stood there as they waited in silence, which was soon broken.

"Where are they? Why are they taking so long?" nervously asked the Kirlia, who was nervously playing with her hair, after they had been waiting for several minutes. "The others are ready," she added as she started to pace impatiently.

"Patience little one… they will return," replied the Rampardos who stood in the middle of the room with a calm look in his eyes. Kivir looked deep into the Pokemon's eyes one could see a hint of sorrow and guilt hidden deep within them.

Just then the Excadrill and Dugtrio popped out the tunnel and nodded to Kivir. "Tell the others to count to ten then unleash the earthquakes," said the Breloom to the Kirlia as the Rampardos and Excadrill walked outside. "5…4…3…" counted Kivir just as the ancients on the wall spotted the two Pokemon outside. "2…1… now," said Kivir as the two Pokemon released earthquake attacks at the same time. The ground below the wall in front of them collapsed in and the base of the wall began to crumble. The ancients on top started yelling and tried to remove themselves from the section that was crumbling, but it was too late. The wall started to collapse and Kivir order the group to run. The six Pokemon team began to run from the falling wall hoping the chaos caused by the damage would give them time to escape. Kivir wanted to see the damage they had done but it was too risky to start in this area since ancients would soon be crawling all over this area.

Kivir's team ran to the predestinated rally point and began to wait for the second group to meet up. The Kirlia focused the best she could and said, "The others are under heavily attack… a patrol was nearby when they attacked the wall and they are… teleporting out." She looked up at Kivir with a worried look on her face. "They left us," she said with fear in her voice.
Kivir couldn't believe he hadn't thought about teleporting to safety, but this was not the time to think about his oversights, "Do you have teleport?" He quickly asked the Kirlia. The Kirlia shook her head no and Kivir quickly said, "Let's get going, the others are safe we need to focus on ourselves now." They began to run back the way they had come just as a group of ancients started to chase after them. They began to twist and turn though the city until they encountered another group of ancients blocking their escape.
"What now?!" asked the Kirlia.

"We fight our way back," said the Rampados as he lowered his head and began charging the group blocking their path. Kivir didn't have time to think about this action as he too charged forward followed by the last four Pokemon. They were outnumber and surrounded, but they were not about to give up now…

Layton "Dark Lightning" Sabara Igneel

Layton stood peacefully at his balcony as he watched down on the small village below him. He had stopped counting the days now but he knew it had been many months since the attack on Gold City. After that horrible event Layton had done his best to warn the others, however it proved difficult to find his brothers when they could have been anywhere in the country, eventually he had stopped here in this village. Iascar, it sat just South of eternity city. After Layton had stopped a group of ancients from invading he had been made a guardian of the village meaning by the pokemon who lived theres customs he had the rights to a small home and a life among the village people, he had accepted and has considered that place a home ever since, he never told the village people about his Gold Tribe past and never intended to do so, however sometimes things are not so easily overlooked. Layton senses the approach of another and turns to see the village chief standing at the balconys edge. An old Lucario, Theodore, Layton knows not his age but can assume him to be at least twice his own. Theodore steps out on to the balcony and watches the village with his friend. After a few minutes he speaks.

"What do you see down there Layton?" He asks.

"I see the friends I have made and the places they dwell of course." Layton replies.

"Is there something more that I am missing?"

"Well logically no..." The Lucario admits.

"But if you are to ask me the same question my answer will be much different."

"Alright then, what do you see Theodore?" Layton asks.

"Well my boy... I see the foundations of a happy life, I see the glory and innocence of a calm living... however I also see the potential for great tragedy." Theodore xplains.

"Oh? How so?" Layton asks, the Old Lucarios words have piqued his interest now and he wishes to know more.

"You have defended this village time and time again, from the ancients or any other threat that might come to us, but now the war grows so strong it may engulf us... and perhaps even more importantly..." Theodore paused.

"The time for you to leave is nigh."

"Leave? Theodore... haha, I have no intention of leaving my friend who has planted these thoughts in your mind?" Layton interpreted the Lucarios message as a joke.

"Layton I must tell you something, right now, at this very moment the Alpha Alliance is fighting to retake Eternity city... now before you say anything, as I know you will, I need you to hear me out..."

"Theodore I'm not leaving to help them, though I may be skilled in combat I'm not suited for such a violent situatio..."

"Do not lie to me Layton! Or should I say..... The Dark Lightning. I" Theodore pronounced the name with respect and clarity.

"I know who you are Layton, you cannot hide such things for ever."

Layton just bowed his head.

"How did you find out?" He asked.

"Thats not important. Your brothers Layton, the Gold Tribe, they fight in the battle, I sense the gold colour and fiery compassion in their auras." The old Lucario explained.

"What?!" Layton exclaimed, after news of the events at Liberty town reached his ears, he had thought he was the only one left.

"Layton do you now understand? You must leave, they are struggling in their fight and require the aid of their brother. Layton I'm asking you to go, you must fight with them." Theodore smiled.

"And when you defeat the Silver Tribe your home will still be here waiting for you."

Layton stood silent for a moment, contemplating this news, his brothers lived, how many was uncertain, but they lived... and they needed his help. Layton opened his eyes, the fire of his duty reigniting in his soul, he knew what he had to do.

***

Layton slowed from his gallop as his hooves began knocking off the cobblestone ground around the eternity city gate, he always enjoyed the clippity cloppity sound his hooves made on stone, he felt it built character. However he quickly focused as he approached the city gates, they were open but two Carracosta stood guard. Probably to keep trouble makers from entering and to stop stragglers of the Alpha Alliance from escaping. In other words they were bad at fighting and so were left to stop the likes of Layton entering the city. They were facing away from him and didn't seem to notice him approaching.

"I suppose I shouldn't have expected it to be that easy. Though I can't say this is going to be extremely difficult." Layton murmured.

Layton had to admit Eternity city seemed alot louder than he remembered, though this is the first time he had been there whilst a war was raging on inside. *I suppose war would have that effect on a city, it was certainly the case with Gold city as far as I can remember.* Layton approached the Carracosta and spoke. He made a big deal of looking shocked as he poked his head over there shoulders into the city and the battle ensuing inside.

"I suppose this is a bad time to ask if the markets still operating then?" Layton said as he poked his head in between the two ancient turtle pokemon.

In shock, the two carracosta launched hydro pumps at Laytons head, Layton however quickly pulled back and the two ended up hitting each other and effectively knocking each other out. Layton stood over the two unconcious ancients.

"Huh, I guess it really was that easy... hmmm but now is not the time for mocking incompetent gatekeepers, I must find my brothers." Layton spoke to himself as he galloped into the heat of battle.

***

Layton soon began to remember why he was given the title of "Dark Lightning" and Alpha Alliance members watched in awe as he struck down the ancients ranks with maximum efficiency. Layton had to make sure he finished each of his foes quickly and hardly, his perfectionist nature playing a part in his combat style.

It felt good helping out in the battle, but he couldn't find his fellow Gold tribe members anywhere. Could Theodore have been wrong? Was he truly the only one left? His pendant was in plain sight so surely the others would have noticed him. Two Aerodactyl spun overhead and dive-bombed towards Layton. They prepared their aerial aces in unison and Layton unleashed a large thunder wave in his direction. The two Ancients crashed forward, plummeting downward, Layton met one of them with a head on quick attack, knocking it far away towards a different battle. The other one plummeted into the ground. It was about to get up, but Laytons hoof was already pressing him back to the ground.

"Where are the other gold tribe members you vermin..." Layton hissed.

"I, I don't know... I..." The Aerodactyl pleaded.

"Don't lie to me!" Layton pressed his hoof down harder.

"Aaargh! Ignitus! Our Sentinel Ignitus, shes dealing with some of them! Now please..." The Aerodactyl was breaking down.

"Whos Ignitus? What species is she?!" Layton demanded.

"She's a Flareon! She's dealing with a Gallade and Absol, thats all I know, I swear!"

Layton smirked.

"Good boy." Layton quickly smacked his hoof into the back of the Aerodactyls scalp, knocking it out painlessly.

"Hmmmm... Ignitus huh? A flareon facing a Gallade and Absol, both Gold tribe, perfect." Layton muttered as he galloped through the streets.

It didn't take long to find the battle in question with the ammount of detail Layton had been given. He arrived just in time to see the Gallade and absol launch seperate attacks at the Flareon.

Layton sensed it about them, they were Gold Tribe, they were his brothers.

Sho focused his energy, felectricity began to crackle and burst around him, his skin began to glow a bright purple and he felt his electric power resonate. This was a sentinel he faced and he knew his every bit of strength would be needed from here on out.

And with that thought Layton charged forward as he let his electricity fly around him.

"My brothers!" He cried.

"Allow me to assist you!"

He drove head first towards the Flareon unleashing his electric power in a single hit, he knew the wild charge would do serious recoil damage, but he could handle it. *Well probably...* he thought to himself.

Eternity City

Speculum leaped into the air and launch a Razor Leaf at a Kabutops. The leaves cut at the Ancient like knives, and the body of the Pokemon fell, with gashes all around. However, as one Ancient fell, three more seemed to take its place. Luckily, there wasn't one of him. So as three took its place, four were taken down on the spot. The Gold Tribe seemed to eliminate them just as fast, maybe even faster then they came. That was the advantage of having them all in one area.

As Hoodhide took down an Omanyte with a High Jump Kick, an Aerodactyl swooped in from behind and attempted to launch at him with a Fly. Speculum noticed, and intervene, unleashing a Leaf Blade on the Aerodactyl. As a Rampardos charge in on the Ditto-Grovyle with an Iron Head, Rey launch a Crush Claw from behind that effectively ended the Pokemon's charge. As a Kabutops attempted a Slash on Wildfire's back as she dealt with another foe, Hoodhide used a Dragon Claw and brought the Ancient down. The Gold Tribe all watched each other's backs. It was as if they weren't all separate warriors, but one being, one long arm which extended across multiple points.

Zane had just broken through the ranks of Ancients that surrounded him earlier, and made his way to where Defender had gone. He had to rub his eyes for a moment to make sure he wasn't hallucinating. There were so many of them, his Gold Tribe brothers and sisters. Zane couldn't quite believe it. Zane brought down a Kabuto as if it weren't there on his approach to the others. He called out to them as the Kabuto in front of him fell. Speculum ran forward as he saw Zane.

"There you are Vigil!" Speculum said.

"Speculum, Hoodhide, Defender. Good to see you all intact. Any sign of the others?"

"Calamity went to assist TrueStriker in fighting with a Sentinel. Sword and Shield is out of commission at the moment, but the big guy's still hanging in there."

Zane nodded, now turning to Wildfire. "It is great to see another of the tribe, sister." Zane said, giving her a smile. From behind, Zane's eyes turned now to the hooded Zangoose, who on his belt bore a Gold Tribe insignia. Zane observed the Pokemon for a moment, then spoke in a voice barely above a whisper.

"...Rey?" Zane asked. The other Gold Tribe members stared back at the Pokemon with the title of their leader. Before the Pokemon could respond, however, a booming voice shouted out to them.

"GOLD TRIBE!" Zane turned, as did Hoodhide, Speculum and Rey. It was General Hazone and Belas coming to them.

"We need your assistance. The Breloom Kivir has concocted a plan to get through the inner wall on the way to the central district. We'll need you in front when a part of the wall comes down!"

Zane nodded. "You guys go ahead. I'll go find Calamity and TrueStriker and make sure they're alright."

"Goodluck brother." Hoodhide said in his fast voice. Zane nodded at them, and took off back into the battlefield. Belas spoke.

"Come on. We're mustering everyone for the push into the courtyard. Let's hope the Breloom will come through for us..."

In that moment, a thundering sound of rock and stone crashing and breaking was heard as portions of the inner wall was crumbled by Pokemon using Earthquake.

"By Arceus, he did it!" Belas yelled. "Everyone muster around the Gold Tribe! They'll be plenty of more Ancients in the central district! GO! For the Alpha Alliance!"

Speculum leaned in and poked Hoodhide. "Wanna keep track at who takes down more Ancients?" Speculum said with a grin. Hoodhide responded as he held up his pants in his pitchy voice.

"What? No youcan't dothat onthebattlefield! Concentrate on the taskathand!"

"Bah, you're no fun." Speculum looked at Wildfire and Defender. "What about you then, brother, sister?" He asked. He suddenly heard Belas's booming voice sounding the charge, and the Gold Tribe and Alpha Alliance army made it's way through the wall, into the main district, where many more Ancients lay waiting.

But that wasn't all that was there waiting.

***************************************************************

As the path was made and parts of the inner wall was crumbled, the Alpha Alliance began charging into the central district. Natalie "Noxious" Andole, the Sentinel in charge of the defense of the capital building of Eternity City, watched the violence from a window high in the tower. She wore an unpleasant look on her face.

"Hmph...useless Ancients. If you want something taken care of, I suppose you must do it yourself..."

Noxious headed for the stairs leading down. The Queen of Poison was soon to join the battle...

Ignitus leapt out of the way of a few psyco cuts that the Gallade had thrown at her, all of them narrowly missing her. She had to end this battle soon. One Gold Tribe member she could handle, two was a bit harder. Any more than that and it would become trickier to hold her own against them. As she thought this, the Absol charged forward with a night slash, knocker her several feet backward, and very luckily out of the was of the Gallade, who suddenly teleported to what would have been behind her. The night slash hurt, but it did keep her from being hit by the psychic fighting type pokemon. Being fighting type, he probably knew the best places to hit, and a blow from behind like he almost got on her could have crippled her. Luck seemed to be on her side though. For now.

All she needed was some time. Her two foes seemed to be preparing for another attack on her, and she couldn't stand up to too much more of this. She needed a plan, somehow she could take control of the battle. Trying to buy some time, she used overheat again, waves of hot dry air eminating out from her in all directions. Again, it wouldn't do much, but the heat felt good to her, and she needed to buy some time. She decided to take advantage of the attack hindering her opponents, and launched another barrage of shadow balls at them to keep them further distracted.

The overheat ended, and her short break was once again interupted by the flow of battle. She fired a toxic at the Absol, hoping to get lucky with a poison, then jumped to the Gallade's side with the arm bracer, hoping that it would slow his turning down so that she could get past his guard. As she got ready for a phsical attack, another pokemon came out of nowhere yelling, and lauching her twenty feet away from the battle, into the fray of the normal battle going on. She looked over at the attacker, and found a Zebstrika staring back at her with vengence in his eyes. Some ancients around her turned to her as she rolled to her feet and saluted to her.

She looked around at the company of Ancient soldiers, then spoke to the captain, marked by an insignia on his soldier. "You! Kabutops! Take your men and attack those rebel peices of scum down there!" The capatin only grunted, and he and twenty of other ancients followed, all shouting prepared to sluaghter the rebels. Not that Ignitus thought that they would, but their deaths would prove a worthy distraction. Meanwhile, she called for a healer, so that at least some of her injuries could be helped before she entered the fray once more. For now she was content to watch her soldiers get slaughtered among the three Gold Tribe warriors.

As she watched the battle ensue, she heard a loud noise from the inner rings of the city, and as she watched a part of the inner wall collapsed, and she heard rebel pokemon cheering as it fell. As much as she would like to see her little ancient force be pulverized against the three Gold Tribe warriors here, she knew that she would be needed inside the courtyard to keep them out of the main citadel. She sighed and shook off the healers, then called out to the Gold Tribe members still fighting the Ancients. "I hope you will excuse me dears, I believe I'm needed elsewhere. If you want to continue our little....fun...I suggest you meet me in the courtyard. Tata for now!" With that Ignitus charged off to the inner wall, dodging between pokemon racing there as fast as she could. She had gotten some of her stregnth back, but would it be enough for the rest of the battle?

Layton "Dark Lightning" Sabara Igneel

Layton closed his eyes and braced himself for the impact his Wild Charge on Ignitus would cause. But he felt nothing, his electricity died down and he opened his eyes, he turned to see Ignitus standing a good few feet away.

"Well thats hardly fair..." Layton murmured.

He looked up towards the inner wall for a moment, it had began to crumble and pieces of debris and rubble could be seen dropping to the ground.

"My Arceus I hope we meant to do that..." Layton murmured once again, he often talked to himself like this, but now was not the time to dwell on it.

Suddenly a crew of at least twenty Ancients, led by a Kabutops were sent towards them. Ignitus had sent them, *A cowardly move* Layton thought. *These Silver Tribe do not even have the courage to fight to their last breath.*

"I hope you will excuse me dears, I believe I'm needed elsewhere. If you want to continue our little....fun...I suggest you meet me in the courtyard. Tata for now!" Ignitus said, almost mocking them.

Layton was about to give chase when the ancients pounced. A Cradilys vines shot out and cut across Laytons face. A cheap shot.

Layton quickly began running back and forth, his speed slowly increasing until Agility brought it up to much higher levels. Layton charged in with a quick attack catching the Cradil off guard, he then spun around and began brutally beating the cradily with Thrash. He had gained a better control of the move since the incident in Gold City and was able to restrain himself from accidentally killing an injured opponent. However he did leave the Cradily with a severe beating. Two cranidos approached him from behind, but he sensed their approach and quickly spun around charging into them with a wild charge and cracking their skulls. Layton knew that this battle would take him and his brothers some time and that Ignitus would already be fully healed by the time they reached her.

So Layton decided he would do the honourable thing and allow his brothers the glory of finishing her.

Layton stood his ground and charged up once again, his body becoming illuminated with purple electricity. He stomped his hoof onto the stone streets with a loud thump and drew some of the ancients attention to him momentarily. Most of them looked wary, all except the Kabutops who seemed to be prepared for a battle.

Layton charged forward and stood beside his brothers.

"Brothers I give you an option, we either fight these scum off together, our combined strength will make this fight a quick one, or... you go now, follow Ignitus, I will hold the Ancients off and cover your pursuit. I will leave the choice up to you." Layton finished his sentence and charged forward, leaping into the air.

"Oh and by the way..." Layton brought his head down upon a Carracosta in an aerial wild charge, he felt the recoil but shrugged it off.

"I am "Dark Lightning", it is a pleasure to make your aquaintance brothers."
