Changing thread categories

Sorry to ask what is probably going to be a really stupid question, but is there a way that I can update the thread category for a new thread I just posted?

I can't see an option for this in the edit screen and stupidly missed it in the post new thread screen.

click Edit Post -> Go Advanced and then there should be a dropdown to edit the thread category, right above where the edit title box is.
