Summary: Ian Parks is a new trainer who had decided to travel his Home Region, the less known Sato Region. He has no idea what's going to happen, but he will find out soon enough. There was no way things would get complicated! ...Right?

Chapter 1: Departure

Welcome to the fantastic world of Pokemon! Here humans and amazing creatures named Pokemon live alongside each other peacefully. Our story starts in the newly discovered Sato Region, on Raffle Island…

Raffle Island, Sato

7:00 am

It was raining heavily on Raffle Island, the resident Pokemon having long since retreated to their respective abodes. A lone Lapras floated by the docks, it's haunting melody drowned out by the wind and rain.

The melancholy weather did not damper a ten year's old boy spirit as he stood on the harbour, protected by a cheery multi coloured umbrella. He had long, slightly curly reddish brown hair and shining green eyes.

The boy was grinning, a smile stretched across his freckled face that contrasted with the dark atmosphere caused by the rain. Why was he up so early? Well, it wasn't exactly his choice… It was hard to stay asleep with your little sister screaming into your ear for you to wake up.

The boy turned around when he heard cheerful whistling. A girl was walking towards the docks, clad in a sunshine yellow raincoat with Mudkip patterns and a dull green backpack. The Lapras had abruptly stopped it's song, opting instead to stare at the newcomer, or more specifically, her bag.

The girl chuckled and brought out a Rawst Berry, balancing it on the palm of her hand, before tossing it up in one graceful sweep. The Lapras immediately caught the berry, swallowing it whole. The girl then grinned at him.

"Hey Ian! What're you doing up so early? Sure not like you. Since you live just a Hoot 'na holler from here." She drawled, with a slight southern accent. Ian rolled his eyes.

"I had to meet the Professor Bee." At this Ian waved a Pokeball in front of his best friend's face, relishing in her shocked expression. Bee's real name was actually Bettina, but they all called her Bee for two reasons: Her iconic yellow raincoat, black hair and aggressive personality made her resemble a Beedril, and because Bettina was way too long.

Giving an uncharacteristic squeal, Bee enveloped Ian in a bone crushing hug. "Congrats!" She said. She was as excited as him, if not more. They both knew how long he had been waiting for this exact moment.

Ian lingered in the hug for a few minutes before slowly extracting himself. "Is Mr Shore here?" He asked his friend, looking around.

Bee shook her head. "Papa just went to sleep a few ares ago. He was very frazzled. There was a storm last night, and he had to steer her," At this she patted the Lapras's neck. "fur piece into the Storm Shelter. Papa stayed with Amphitrite all night until the Storm ended. Then he got her back here." Amphitrite gave a low croon when Bee started stroking her neck.

Ian gave a disappointed sigh. "How can I leave the island then?" He muttered. The Lapras Express was the only way you could travel between islands, unless you were willing to risk getting sucked into treacherous whirlpools or attacked by territorial Pokemon. He could always wait until Mr Shore woke up, but by the looks of it it wasn't going to happen anytime soon.

Bee gave a grin. "Remember Ian, I'm ten too." Realisation struck and Ian could have smacked himself for forgetting. Bee had turned ten two months ago, applying for a business permit as soon as she could. She was currently waving said permit in his face. "I can get you to Pawn Island, if'n we get there quick and before the rush hour." Ian gave a quick nod in response.

Bee hummed as she got Amphitrite ready (or fixing her up, as Bee would call it). That meant waxing her shell and giving her a wash. Ian had tried telling her it wasn't necessary, he wasn't actually an official customer, but she simply clicked her tongue. "Protocols Ian!" Bee exclaimed, waving her hands expressively. This normally wouldn't have bothered him, but she was holding a hose. A fully functioning one. He had a hard time avoiding getting drenched. "Hafta have Protocols! I wouldn't want people to have the wrong idea about the Express. Always look our best!"

It took a whole hour for Bee to finish. By that time the rain had cleared, though there were still dark clouds hovering in the sky. The whole island seemed to be waking up from a deep sleep. Windows were opened, curtains swept back, and the hustle bustle of people going about their own business was heard.

Bee shrugged off her raincoat, tying it around her waist. "There! Gone and done it. The dough!" Ian tossed her a fifty dollar bill. Bee pocketed the cash, then ushered him onto Amphitrite.

Here we go. Ian thought, a bittersweet smile on his face as they pulled out of the harbour. He would miss his family, the Professor, Bee… But if things went well he would be back in a year max. The boy made himself as comfortable as he could, listening to Amphitrite's happy croons as she avoided yet another whirlpool.

He gave a small chuckle as he swung his legs over the side of Amphitrite's shell, ignoring Bee's squawks of "No limbs outside the shell!" and the berries she was lobbing at him. His shoes skimmed the ocean surface.

Soon Bee had stopped her scolding and thankfully, throwing berries at him after he gave no reaction. She was currently giving him the evil eye and muttering threats under her breath.

Things couldn't be better.

He wouldn't change anything for the world.

Well, aside from the numerous berry caused bruises. He would change that if he could.

Hi. It seems you did another thread for your story, so I'm going to close this one as you should have only one thread for your story.
