It's... hard to justify a tablet in this day and age.
Maybe it's just me. As phone screens get larger and larger and more powerful, they've really gotten to the point where tablets just seem... unnecessary. If you really need the screen real estate of a tablet, then the growing market of 2-in-1 laptops would be right up your alley. They're expensive, sure, but when you consider what you're getting and what kind of long-term benefits you're reaping out of it, it starts to become a much more appealing option.
I feel like tablets these days are more for people who own a desktop PC and don't travel far nor frequently and just don't find it necessary to spend a whole lot of money on a laptop. Or maybe you're the budget consumer who can't afford a desktop PC or a laptop, then owning a tablet would be the next best thing (although it can be argued that depending on which tablet you get, you'd be better off spending money on a Chromebook if you really wanted a computer).
Overall though, tablets just aren't a hot commodity like they used to be, I think.
