If you pick the feather, you'll get a bird.

Let's look at your birds. Brrrd, who happens to be awesome, and Yahtzee, who's even better.

If you pick the hair, you'll get some sort of mammal.

Let's look at your mammals. UNHOLYbear.

I say the feather. You can never have too many birds. Then again...he is in Corna...so you never know what laws may be broken. The feather could very well belong to something that was the ancestor of UNHOLY bear. (Ew). But if it is a fossil, it may have escaped Baro's grasp, having died before anything ever happened.

There is always the chance of someone stealing the fossil and resurrecting it, themselves... I'd prefer to keep it buried deep within my hard drive...
