Why do some sets have more value?

Skyridge (2003may) is expensive, most holos are $15-45, and some even $60-100. Then the next set EX Ruby & Sapphire (2003june), most holos are under $15, some even under $5.
What difference do u see between the 2 sets? Is it because Skyridge is wizard and people consider wizard cards to have more collection value?

Also why are legendary collection reverse holos so expensive? The cheapest is like $5, and but most are $8-16. So a reverse holo common card can be more expensive than a holo. What do people do with those vintage reverse holo, do they just buy them to collect them?

What other sets do u think are expensive and worthy for collecting?
