Ruby Solo run

Started a Bagon-Shelgon-Salamence solo run
Currently, I have 5 badges. 3 hm slaves, and I just got Salamence.
only grind trained at the beginning.
Got the first badge when she (Bagon) was around level 15.
Second badge was a little tough, Bagon around level 21, has good attack but she is a little fragile.
Third gym, I hit level 30, but i stopped the evolution so I could get dragonbreath at level 33 instead of 38.
Fourth gym, Bagon evolved into shelgon. Took on the fourth gym when I was around level 35.
Fifth gym took him on when shelgon was around level 38. Slaking yawned me around 6 times.
Surfed to the abandoned ship, leveled shelgon to around 42.
Battled trainers on the way to sixth gym.
After I fought a few trainers in the sixth gym shelgon evolved into salamence.

Stuck on emerald, because I can't remember how to unlock the last gym, I have seven badges.
Sapphire: mudkip solo run, until he learns hydro pump, level 42, then evolve.

I don't have a save file on any of my games right now, and I love solo runs, so I would love if someone would suggest me one (or more) Solo challenges to complete! I'll put cartridges that I have as priority, but I'm not against using an emulator to play a game I don't have.
Games I have -
Yellow
Blue
Red
Silver
Emerald
Platinum
Pearl
White
Black

To get the ball rolling, I'll do a Meganium Solo on my Silver game.

Well, I finally bothered to update my challenge. I want to point out that it's not because I'm giving up on the challenge (I'm not), but because of EV training. I try to do it at the start of each game, and EV training is long and boring, so I often end up going really really slow at the start of a game. With that out of the way...

Ultimate Solo Challenge Update #16 with Weedle

When I last updated, I had just gotten to the 7th gym leader in Sapphire. Before fighting them, I had to go and beat pretty much all the trainers between Mossdeep and Pacifidlog (and some after that) in order to be strong enough. When I did fight them, I used this strategy: I went in with a Magikarp and my Weedle (You have to bring 2 guys). Then, I used Poison Sting on Lunatone (and reset until it poisoned him) and Magikarp would usually get OHKO'ed. I would then Hyper Potion spam until Lunatone ran out of Psychics, and then just attack them.

After beating that gym, I went to the Seafloor Cavern. Archie wasn't that hard to beat, but it was kind of annoying.

Next I went to Sootopolis, and caught Kyogre with a Master Ball, and made him be an HM slave. I beat the gym, which was easy except for the leader's Milotic, who was really annoying (like most Milotics) thanks to Recover spam.

Then I went to Victory Road, which was kind of annoying. There were multiple trainers I had to try multiple times or just skip, like the girl with the Leech Seeding Roselia, or the guy with the Muk who had Minimize and Acid Armor (LeafGreen all over again...) or the Lairon that I had to switch to using Struggle to beat.

Next was the Elite 4. I did this multiple weeks ago, so I don't remember how most of it went. I do remember one funny part though, it was when I got to Drake's Salamence. Usually I'm so overleveled that even with no Speed EVs, I outspeed almost everything. So when Salamence outsped my Weedle, I said aloud to my cousin, "How is this Salamence outspeeding my Weedle?" I ended up having to use X Speed and get a critical hit to kill it.

Then there was Steven. This battle I do remember, but I won't bother with how it went because I took a video of the battle. I'll put it at the bottom of this post, along with the screenshots I've been neglecting to post.

And with that, I was done Gen 3. Platinum was up next.

I decided to start with Piplup, as that would make my rival have a Grass starter, which is the easiest for Weedle to beat. The first part of the game was easy enough. I got up to Route 203, and then decided to EV train Weedle here. But, the only pokemon there that gives Special Defense EVs is Lotad, who you only fight by having Sapphire in the GBA slot of your DS. I hadn't realized for a while that you can't fight pokemon like that until after the league. So, I looked and the next wild guy (other than honey pokemon) that gives SDef is the Duskulls outside of Hearthome City. I decided to go really fast through the game to that point, and catch up on fighting trainers after EV training. After easily beating the first gym, I went north to Eterna Forest, fighting some of the trainers there. That's where I am now, with that lady who has a Chansey.

I finally bothered to update my screenshots too. The reason I didn't before is because my phone's screen stopped working properly, and I used to use my phone for screenshots. Now I've been taking them with my DS.

Here they are:

Super Swablu Solo #1
I started up Pokémon Ruby and called my character Sydian after the boss of this forum. I started going through the game until I finally got my Poké Balls. Once I had them, I hacked in a Swablu into the wild and caught it. I nicknamed Swablu "Challenger" because Swablu is the unofficial mascot of the challenge forum. I continued on playing Ruby, making my way to Petalburg City where I met Wally. After that I headed to and through Petalburg Woods, before eventually making it to Rustburo City.

After a lot of training, I decided to challenge Roxanne. I knew this would be really hard because of Swablu's type disadvantage. I ended up using some X-Attacks to boost my power, and thanks to some luck with Sing, I managed to win. Happy with my victory, I went and rescued Peeko, got the Pokénav and headed off to Dewford Island.

Straight off, I went and delivered the Letter to Steven so that I could get Steel Wing. I was glad that I got it because now Swablu stood a chance against rock types. I went to challenge the gym and because of my awesome type advantage, cleaned up pretty well.

Super Swablu!

Update for USC #3.

Continued my third USC with Excalibur the Scyther.

Update #1 on Black.

Name: Arthur
Starter: Excalibur (in place of Snivy)

  • Hacked in Excalibur Scyther as my starter, and away we went.
  • The beginning stage of the game was pretty easy, and Chili wasn't too hard at all with a boosted Quick Attack.
  • Continued on to Nancrene City, and after training a bit outside the forest, I beat Lenora with some difficult because of Retaliate.
  • Beat up Team Plasma in the forest, then moved on to Castelia City.
  • Burgh was super easy with Wong Attack.
  • Beat Bianca and Cheren, then picked up some vitamins in the Battle Subway for Excalibur.
  • Beat N and Elesa, who was easy with Return.
  • Crossed the bridge to Driftveil City and cleared out Cold Storage.
  • Clay was a bit scary with Excadrill's Rock Slide, but Excalibur survived and won with Wing Attack and Rock Smash.
  • Beat Bianca and got Fly, then saved on Route 6.

Update for USC #3.

Update #2 on Black.
  • Went through Chargestone Cave to Mistralton City.
  • Scaled the Celestial Tower and rang the bell, then defeated Skyla easily with Wing Attack.
  • Beat Cheren and got Surf from Alder, then made my way through Twist Mountain.
  • In Icirrus City, Excalibur crushed Brycen with his new move Brick Break.
  • Beat up Team Plasma in the Dragonspiral Tower and Relic Castle, got the Light Stone, then went to Opelucid City.
  • Defeated Drayden with 3 Aerial Ace attacks, then headed through Victory Road to the Pokemon League.
  • None of the Elite Four were very hard to defeat, even Sawk's Stone Edge didn't KO Excalibur.
  • Caught Reshiram with the Master Ball, then faced off against N and Ghetsis.
  • N beat me once, then I was able to survive when Zekrom used Fusion Bolt then Light Screen instead of 2 Fusion Bolts, and Carracosta missed with Stone Edge.
  • Against Ghetsis, I had to use a Full Restore when Cofagrigus used Toxic, then swept the rest away thanks to Swords Dance.
  • Saved at home; the postgame is next.

Super Swablu Solo #2
I set sail to Slateport City and upon arrival, cleaned out Team Magma from the museum. After that dilemma, I headed north and visited the Trick House where I solved the puzzle and got a Rare Candy. I then ran into Brandon and managed to defeat him. I continued on the path until I reached Mauville City.

At Mauville City, I saw Wally, who I battled and then beat. I then cleaned up all the trainers on the surrounding routes and got the Mack Bike! After all those jobs, I headed into the gym. This gym, just like Roxanne's was rather difficult, as Swablu is weak to electric types. With some luck with Sing, I managed to defeat Wattson and get the badge. I then continued my journey, first beating the Winstrate family and then eventually reaching Fallabour Town.

I then went down to Meteor Falls before then going back to Mt. Chimney. At Mt. Chimney I went and defeated some members of Team Magma and also defeated Maxie. I then headed south and reached Lavaridge Town. I challenged the gym. After barely surviving Flannery's Torkoal's Overheat, I managed to win and get the badge. Brandon then gave me the Go-Goggles.

Super Swablu!

I am cancelling my Wooper Solo-Run and doing it with Dratini instead. I will also evolve him when he does.
I will start later. I will also still use the same games.

  • The postgame went by super fast.
  • After I got Excaliber to L95, I took on Morimoto and Cynthia and beat them both easily with Swords Dance power.
  • Then I faced the Elite Four again. The results were the same as the first time, although Sawk's Stone Edge came a little closer to KOing Excalibur.
  • Finally I battled Alder. Here's the video and play-by-play of the fight, such as it was:
