INTRODUCTION​
Welcome to the Connect Multiverse! I'm Davepetasprite^2 and I am the author of the Connect series, in which these stories take place in this multiverse. As time goes on, more new information about the multiverse will be open up to you. This opening post will serve as an index for all of the entries located here, as well as links to outside materials that are related to the Connect series.​

OVERVIEW​
The Connect series is set in Earth in the year 3012, wherein the planet was shattered and separated into seven chunks of landmasses, with each chunk having its own culture, set of nations, and climate. Because of the physical limitations of the shattered Earth, with intense magnetic forces emanating directly from the core, interchunk travel was impossible. Due to this, scientists from all over the world created a new cyberworld, called the Ultranet, in which people from all over the world can interact with one another and experience the connection that was once lost all these years...​

THE EARTH​
The Year 2478

It is almost the endgame of the Third World War. Tensions between the superstates have already escalated into dangerous levels. However, one notable event stopped the war, altogether. It was the worst disaster the world has ever seen.

The Earth started to crack, and started to drift away from each other. Earthquakes started to rumble everywhere, tsunamis crashing every shoreline, and volcanic eruptions abound. Superstates fell, while majority of the people who survived the initial quake fought to stay alive.

The tragic event was forever known as The Farfasa. Historians say that the Farfasa lasted for about 2 hours before the last of the quakes calmed down. They say about 75% of the world's population had perished from the dreadful event. Scientists are baffled up to now as to how the Earth managed to stay survivable as the core is already visible from the major cracks of the earth, and how the atmosphere wasn't tampered in any way.​

The Dark Centuries

After the Farfasa came the Dark Centuries, where the world was plunged into darkness, where most of the fauna died off, leaving the Earth in a barren state, resetting back to the Dark Ages, where the people struggled to get back on their feet once more. Legends say that there were 7 people who could control an element, which most accounts say to be fire, water, wind, earth, light, and darkness, and helped the people rebuild civilization. However, there were no substantial evidence, other than word of mouth, to support this claim.​

The Rebirth of Civilization

In the 2700s came the end of the Dark Centuries, and ushered in a new era of peace and prosperity. The fauna has once again repopulated, and life on the planet started to once again bloom. During this century, the people have started to form countries, and everyone was living in peace. However, there was only one problem that plagued the world. Since the world is shattered, interchunk travel was impossible as the magnetic forces emanating from the cracks made a physical barrier that left aircraft and even spacecraft unable to cross the border. No one even knew that there were still life on either side of their respective chunks, until in 2832, where the first communication signals have reached the other side. This sparked a new initiative where the people formulate a plan to once again connect the broken world.​

THE ULTRANET​
In 2835, the leading scientists from each of the chunks formed an organization known as Gaia to spearhead the world project known as the Ultranet. The Ultranet is, by definition, a cyberworld, wherein people can connect with other people from different parts of the world, and serve as the second Earth. The Ultranet went online on January 1, 2840, and it became an integral part of everyone's lives. To connect to the Ultranet, one needs a system (usually home PCs or public Ultraterminals) that is connected to the Ultranet, and a Gammalier, a personal wrist device used as a communication device, and your best friend while in the Ultranet.

Although the Ultranet is public, its program is one of the most secured objects in the world, as the program is unhackable, and any attempts to hack the system will be flagged instantly.​
