Moving along, this is the episode where Brock leaves!
Pokemon: Adventures In The Orange Islands Episode 2 "Poke Ball Peril"
** Some good faces
* Pikachu getting a door slammed.
Those girls with glasses look really different from most characters!
** Brock's face with his mouth off of his head
It's a GOLD and SILVER Pokeball. Foreshadowing?
** Silly scene with Vileplume!
Nice scene with Jessie referencing the famous "We Can Do It!" poster.
* Montage of Brock cleaning beserkley
AWWWWW look at Pikachu and Ash sleeping together, and Misty sleeping with Togepi in her arms.
Wow the two girls hugged. WHATEVERSHIPPING confirmed.
AWW look at Pikachu's little ears moving up and down
** Pikachu's cute dancing
Goodbye Brock! See ya in 30 episodes.
WOW more Pokeshipping teases with Jessie and James declaring they're in love. So their Pokeshippers too!
Closing Thoughts:
An uncharacteristically weak episode!
The plot was disappointing. It started out with an interesting plot about the gang trying to find the secret of the mysterious GS Ball, but halfway through that is for some reason discarded and replaced with a plot of Professor Ivy doing crap. That's a shame.
Humor was tops as always, but no good action scenes.
Overall I can only give it a 5.5/10. Let's hope "The Lost Lapras" turns things around.

It wasn't that great of an Episode I will admit but if you think the Pokeshipping references stop there... you haven't seen anything yet. Just wait for Danny and Rudy to make their respective entrance as Gym Leaders and your Pokeshipping meter will be off the scales. Tack on the 2nd Movie and a blatant nod to those two later on in Johto and you'll know why fans are still pissed to this day that Misty was booted from the series. Orange Islands is short but vast majority of it is filler in my book.

On to another ep!
Pokemon: Adventures In The Orange Islands Episode 3 "The Lost Lapras"
** The tourists cuddling Pikachu
Man people are abusing that Lapras! That's pretty dark
Tracey's voice is annoying, sounds like low pitched Mickey Mouse voice.
-- One-sided action scene
* Though Tracey getting thundershocked was funny.
* James getting crushed
** Tracey's big smile
Yay Tracey joins the group, which means more annoying voice acting and him being a one-note sketch guy.
** Jigglypuff drawing on their faces again was more good joques
** Jessie kicking Meowth over and over
Getting quite sick of Team Rocket's motto
** Very good chase scene! Love the rocking music in the background.
** And another great face from James.
Woah did they just say "Team Rocket's flipping off again"? that can have a different meaning.
Closing Thoughts:
A very good episode!
The story was great. The gang meet a new guy named Tracey, and together they nurse an abused Lapras back to heath, the plot was interesting and surprisingly dark.
The action scenes were strong, though we started with a pretty one-sided battle.
And humor was tops again.
Overall, 8/10.

Moving to the next gym battle episode!
Pokemon Adventures In The Orange Islands Episode 4 "Fit To Be Tide" (Pretty bad title)
** Some more Team Rocket humor
I like the background music.
* Ash getting soaked
--- Huh Ash was expecting a guy trainer, that's kinda SEXIST
** Good battle scene very different from most!
** Some more Psyduck funniness
Man Tracey's really one-note. All he does is draw!
** Another very strong battle scene.
* Ash hitting the tree.
Closing Thoughts:
Decent, though not spectacular.
The story was another strong gym battle episode, it was interesting how the battles were different from most.
The action scenes weren't like the rest, but I enjoyed them.
Humor wasn't the best but we got some good laughs.
So we get a 7/10. Orange Islands shaping up strong early on.

Revolution Calling
Revolution Calling
Revolution Calling you

Geoff Tate of Queensryche, "Revolution Calling"
Has Pikachu gone to the Dark Side?
Pokemon: Adventures in the Orange Islands Episode 5 "Pikachu Re-Volts"
It's Butch and Cassidy again, Butch's voice is still trash.
** Nice emotional weight to the scene where Pikachu goes missing.
** Victreebell eating James
Butch and Cassidy have their own motto too! That's a shame because we have to hear it again and again
Aww Jessie and James hug. ROCKETSHIPPING CONFIRMED!
* I like how Tracey said "Who's that Pokemon?"
*** VERY strong and intense action scene
** Jessie and James' beserk faces. They also hug again. ROCKETSHIPPING CONFIRMED!
* Drowzee's demented dancing
AWW Pikachu and Ash hugging.
* Togepi's cute dancing
*** INCREDIBLY well-done climax the tension is extremely well-done here.
Closing Thoughts:
A very strong episode!
The story was very interesting, with Chainsmoker Butch and Cassidy brainwashing the Pokemon to be EVIL. Intriguing premise, played darker than most episodes. I could've prefered it without them working with Team Rocket.
The action was really well-done, the final climax was one of the best in the show.
Humor wasn't the tops but it was fine.
So 8.5/10!

All the world's indeed a stage
And we are merely players

Geddy Lee of Rush, "Limelight"
Time for some Raichu cuteness!
Pokemon: Adventures In The Orange Islands Episode 8 "Stage Fight" (Kinda lame pun)
Wow the Pokemon are TALKING how can this be
** Togepi waltzing onto the stage.
Oh their actually played by actors. That's a disappointment I wanted talking Pokemon.
AWW the girl's Raichu is ADORABLE!
** James and Meowth's dancing
Woo Pokemon crosses into high art with a performance of "The Rime of The Ancient Mariner" could've been better if it was the Iron Maiden song though
** Ash getting shocked
*** AWW the flashback scene with Kay and Raichu was ADORABLE! Especially when she's like "It's so cute!"
** Another adorable scene with Raichu and Kay
** Good face from James
* James getting eaten by Victreebel
AWW Tracey has a Marill and it's so CUTE
** Good action scene.
*** ADORABLE scene with Kay and Raichu, I almost cried!
AWW Raichu and Pikachu in their fancy garb.
Closing Thoughts:
An ADORABLE episode!
The story was where the gang goes to see a Pokemon Dance Performance, with voice acting, and they meet Kay, who has a timid Raichu with stage fright. The CUTENESS of the episode was incredible, so many adorable scenes with Kay and her Raichu that gave the feels.
Action was nice as always.
And there were some good jokes as well.
Overall, a strong episode. 8/10.

The series goes on!
Pokemon: Adventures In The Orange Islands Episode 10 "Shell Shock!"
** Nice self-referential joke where the announcer recalls how formulaic the show has become. There's a reason why i've only watched 7 of 10 episodes so far.
* Pikachu's very wide smile
* Nice tense chase scene.
Like the repetition of the last few seconds before the commercial break.
** Another nice satire joke about the emphasis on TV ratings.
Wow the Kabuto have come alive and the island is sinking! Interesting premise.
** Well-done action scene with them getting off the island.
Closing Thoughts:
A decent filler episode.
The story was very interesting, they go on an island with Kabuto fossils to dig them up but an ancient prophecy says that the island will sink if disturbed. Nice to have a more "mythical" plot, it was quite intriguing.
The action scenes and humor weren't spectacular, but they were okay. So I give this episode a 7/10.

Time for another gym battle episode with an awkward name.
Pokemon: Adventures In The Orange Islands Episode 12 "Navel Manuvers" (Wut)
The island is called NAVEL ISLAND I guess that's the purpose of the title.
Wow this episode aired as part of 3 episodes in one day.
WOW listen to Misty trying to deny she's in love with Ash, saying while stuttering "I only like him as a friend". POKESHIPPING MEGA-CONFIRMED!
* Ash's strangled groan
Ash's awful hiking reminds me of me, I tire out after like a mile
-- One-sided action scene with Team Rocket.
Danny's getting flirty with Misty. That don't matter, ASH X MISTY OTP
** Lapras's weird noises
** Nice action scenes.
* Ash getting flamed
"It's all downhill from here!" nice pun Misty
** Ash's reaction to being called friends of Team Rocket.
* Another good battle scene
** James being eaten by Victreebell
Closing Thoughts:
A great gym battle episode!
The story was more gym battle fun, with some good Pokeshipping hints as well, not much more to say here.
The action was top-notch, very exciting, tense, and thrilling, what I want from this show.
Humor was also very good with laughs aplenty.
8/10 overall.

Moving right along!
Pokemon: Adventures In The Orange Islands Episode 13 "Snack Attack!"
** Aww look at Pikachu trying to lift the grapefruit
* Snorlax's face while eating
** Snorlax crushing Bulbasaur
I love the Snorlax in this episode it's so goofy
** Jessie shoving the apple into James' mouth
* Scene with Goldeen
WOW Snorlax tried EATING Goldeen! That's not something you see every day.
** Well-done action scenes.
* Psyduck running like an idiot
** Psyduck laughing.
** Jigglypuff drawing
Aww look at Misty and Ruby sleeping back to back. NO SHIPPING CONFIRMED though
Closing Thoughts
This episode was SO FUNNY!
The premise was that a Snorlax was eating all the grapefruits on the island, and they had to try to stop it. All the methods they used to try to stop it were HILARIOUS, and kept me laughing throughout the entire duration.
Add that to some good action sceens and we get one of the best episodes of the series! 9/10!

Just 3 episodes left and then we watch the movie!
Pokemon: Adventures In The Orange Islands Episode 16 "Tracey Gets Bugged"
Marril's prononced MAER-IL and not MAA-RILL I never knew that
* Misty stepping on Tracey's foot
** Misty's face after seeing Pinsir
CRITICAL FLAW Misty said about Venonat "At least it's not a bug type" EVEN THOUGH IT IS
Get your facts straight
Aww look at Jessie and James hugging, ROCKETSHIPPING CONFIRMED!
** Well-done emotional scene at Pokemon Center.
** James getting eaten again
* Good action scenes with Team Rocket.
** Meowth's getting slashed.
Scyther's voice is kinda annoying
Reminds me of the singing in Judas Priest's Painkiller
** Very well-done climax scene!
*** Very lovely ending scene with the Scythers, the violin/piano music in the background is lovely!
Closing Thoughts:
A great episode.
The story was where the gang goes on an island and finds an injured Scyther, which wants to fight back it's spot as the leader of a group of Scythers. A very touching premise, and quite engaging. Lots of nice emotional scenes and the ending was near-tear-jerking.
The action scenes were very well-done, especially the climax.
And humor was nice too.
So I give this strong effort an 8/10.

Square for battle!
Let the fray begin!

Geddy Lee of Rush, "By-Tor And The Snow Dog"
Time for a gym battle ep!
Pokemon: Adventures In The Orange Islands Episode 18 "The Mandarin Island Miss Match"
** Ash's weird freakout
** Misty's beserk reaction to Prima.
James's voice just got a lot deeper for some reason. Why
* Tracey and Misty's reaction to Prima's weird speech
** Nice battle scene.
Ugh the gym battle plot has to fall away halfway through that's REALLY disappointing.
Nvm.
** Another good battle scene.
* Very well-directed scenes with Prima's lecturing to Ash, nice emotional weight there.
** ANOTHER good action scene.
Closing Thoughts:
A good episode, not a top one.
The story was good, with Ash and the gang meeting Prima, who gives them advice on how to be a good trainer, and they have two battles. It was nice to see Ash lose, it gave good development on his character, and the scenes with Prima were well-directed and nice.
Action and humor were solid as always, too.
7.5/10.

And in the end
The love you take
Is equal to the love you make

The Beatles, "The End"
Time for the FINAL episode of Season 2, before we get into the second movie!
Pokemon: Adventures in The Orange Islands Episode 21 "The Mystery Menace"
** Team Rocket's plan, with Batman esque otomontepia.
* Nice action scene.
Huh, why were they arrested for being in the sewer?
** Like the name: "Pizza and Pizza"
Wow NICE censorship with the mayor wanting to "Destroy" the sea creature.
Hmm the town mayor doesn't care about anything except getting re-elected and stuff. NICE JOB tackling corrupt government officials.
** The animation direction in the sewer parts is nicely done, conveys the atmosphere well.
** Togepi waltzing off
Aww Jessie and James sleeping back to back, ROCKETSHIPPING confirmed!
* NICE cliffhanger with the fade to white.
Turns out the mysterious creature was actually just a fat Bulbasaur! Unsurprising since there aren't any non-Pokemon creatures in Pokemon
WOAH it was the mayor's Bulbasaur WOW this got dark, so it was just a scare tactic to get him re-elected! Wow Pokemon's getting House of Cards.
He abandoned him in the sewer for DECADES just because it didn't evolve into Ivysaur! Holy Crap
Closing Thoughts:
A very weird, dark, and compelling ep to close out Season 2.
The story was that they try to find a mysterious "sea monster", which would be an ordinary episode except the political espoinage. The "sea monster" is actually a really fat Bulbasaur, and the mayor, even though he knows it's not dangerous, is closing up all the manholes and stuff and painting it as a threat, to build fear tactics for his re-election, he knows it's unethical but does it because "HE'S THE MAYOR". Rare for a kid's show to tackle government corruption, ain't it? And then it turns out the Bulbasaur was abandoned BY the mayor, for DECADES because it didn't evolve into Ivysaur. Government corruption and animal abuse, y'know, for kids!
Top that off with some good tense action scenes, laughs to ease the tension, and nice direction, and we have a fine Pokemon sandwhich. 8/10.
Next stop, the Power of One.

There's no time to run away
A prophecy will make it's stay

Geoff Tate of Queensryche, "Prophecy"
Time for my second MEGA-SIZED review, i'll watch the Pokemon Movie 2!
Pokemon: The Movie 2000: The Power Of One
** Really well-done opening scene with nice 3-D effects, and the booming voice reciting the prophecy coupled with the flute song in the background was super-cool.
"Then the earth would turn to ASH" HMMMM I wonder what that could mean.
Titan Of Ice is a really metal sounding name.
The CGI on the guy's ship is EXTREMELY obvious! Looks like something out of an N64 game
* Though I like his voice, very dark.
*** VERY intense action with crazy guy vs Moltres
Man his dialogue immediately after is INCREDIBLY well-done, sounds poetic, or like a line you'd find in like some Iron Maiden epic
Hmm Tracey's hair just changed color from black to green?
--- TERRIBLE dance mix of We All Live In A Pokemon World
** I like the swarm of Magikarps
** Meowth's weird face
Wow check out those hyper-realistic black clouds. This movie is a weird blend of CGI and 2D Animu.
Hmm yet again Ash's Mom and Professor Oak are together, maybe there IS something to the theory of them being married? NO that would mean an excellent Palletshipping fanfic I read would be made infinitely more disturbing.
Hmm now the weather's getting all screwed up, snowing in summer right after being 100% sunny. Guess that might be what it's like in South Dakota.
Ash's mom still looks freakishly young for the mother of a 10 year old.
** The swarm of Digletts
Wow Melody kissed Ash and Misty was horrified. POKESHIPPING CONFIRMED!
** "And she said no, but I have krabbies!" isn't that like an STD or something? FOR KIDS GUYS
*** Melody's song was lovely!
Wow Melody called Ash the most "Handsome chosen one" and Misty was very jealous. CAN IT GET ANY MORE OBVIOUS GUYS? They're in LOVE
Why is it when they get rained on some outline appears around them.
Woah was that a TALKING Slowpoke? Yes it was!
And now Misty denying that she's Ash's boyfriend. COME ON just spill the beans
** Very nicely animated scene with the first island, very realistic looking! The scene out in the waves was well-animated as well.
They have a FLYING BOAT? Why can't WE have flying boats. We don't even have flying CARS
** "Yous two don't need the opposite sex, 'cause you've got eachother!" So Meowth's a Rocketshipper too!
Haha TEAM ROCKET HUG AGAIN! When will Rocketshipping ever NOT be confirmed.
** Another well-done intense action scene.
** Slowpoke's random "I Could use pants!"
Once again the entire animation and direction of this movie is very well-done, not as well-done as the first one but still very good.
*** ANOTHER really well-done and intense scene with Zapdos and Moltres.
** Meowth: "I'd hate to get hit by their droppings!" NICE one
Lugia's pronounced "LU-GI-A"? I thought it was pronounced "LU-GHI-A"
** Slowpoke's casual "This looks bad"
Professor Oak's voice crack'd
This is Ash rn
*** REALLY good emotional scene with Ash pondering if he truly is the chosen one.
** Great music in the background here
*** The entire 10-15 minutes between Zapdos and Moltres leaving the ship through Ash trying to get the ice thing was INCREDIBLY intense and could rival the climax of the first movie.
*** "We're slowing Lugia down, we're too heavy!"
"Let's try Weightwatchers"
Aww look at Jessie and James passionately looking in eachothers eyes, and then they Hug. Rocketshipping confirmed!
*** And a intense climax scene once again, though not AS intense as the first one.
* Pikachu shaking off his fur like a dog
*** Oh. My. God. The climax scene with Lugia's song was BEAUTIFUL! The swelling music coupled with the whole atmosphere was INCREDIBLY lovely. Also nice job making a big orchestra piece with one instrument, Melody. The family bonding moment at the end was nice.
Closing Thoughts:
Not QUITE as good as the first one but still very good.
First: Reasons why it wasn't as good: Though the action scenes were really good, especially the bird battle, the "epic" atmosphere in the movie did NOT match the first one, the climax was nowhere near as intense (Though still very good). I also wasn't thrilled with the fact that Team Rocket tried helping them, and Lawrence III was nowhere near as good a villain as Mewtwo.
However, it was still a very good one. The story, with the gang trying to stop the legendary birds from destroying the world, was epic and thrilling, and less thin than the admittedly somewhat thin plot of the first movie, Ash being the chosen one and all was really interesting and creatively done. The direction was a step down from the first film, but still very Intense, especially the bird battle, and the scene with Lugia's song was SO beautiful. The animation throughout the movie looked lovely though I could've done without the super-obvious CGI, and we also got a lot of nice humorous scenes.
A strong effort overall. 8.5/10.

I personally feel the second movie was much better than the first. To me the only great parts of the first movie are Ash's death and revival and Meowth's line about thinking about our similarities and not our differences. The second movie had much more action and there was great moments of suspense and comedy and Ash and Team Rocket had maybe their best moments in this movie. The parts with Lawrence were the only thing that detracts from it.

Recommend watching the Chikorita rescue episode, if only because Ash catches it and the fact he single handedly trolls/imitates Team Rocket like he did back in Season 1. Imitating or trolling Team Rocket is rare and isn't repeated until Diamond and Pearl so it's worth considering if only for that.

As for Double Trouble Header, it introduces Casey and Baseball(or PokeBall) into the anime. Being that Casey makes several reappearances, including Pokemon Chronicles, it might be worth the time to watch it.

Charizards Burning ambition is actually an important episode. It introduces a character who returns later on in the Johto arc and is a defining moment in Ash's development as a Trainer by releasing his Charizard.

I do agree though that a lot of Episodes are filler... too much frankly but I make the habit of watching Episodes where he or a companion catches/releases Pokemon and Episodes where a Pokemon evolves. Outside of Gym Battles, that would be the only reason I'd watch an Episode.

Let's begin Season 3!
Pokemon: Adventures In The Orange Islands Episode 24 "Charizard Chills"
** Pikachu being cute.
The other trainer's voice is bad. However in the season gap Tracey's voice has improved, no longer sounding like Mickey Mouse.
** Good action scene.
* Charizard burning Ash
*** The ENTIRE scene with Ash and his Charizard was really well-done and emotional, the dialogue and music were super-well done, especially the montage with Charizard through the years. The music that played during the final part of the scene was INCREDIBLE!
Aww look at Ash sleeping on top of Charizard.
** Jessie and James squeezing Meowth
* Well-done chase scene.
** And another good scene, with well-done use of Pokemon World.
Closing Thoughts:
A solid start.
The story was pretty thin, but it still provided great character development in the relationship between Ash and Charizard, the entire middle scene was very sweet between the two with well-done emotion.
The action scenes were all well-done, the final one also had nice use of the theme.
Nice jokes as well.
Overall not the best but still fine. 7.5/10.

Time for some aggressive Pokeshipping hints.
Pokemon: Adventures In The Orange Islands Episode 25 "Misty Meets Her Match"
Wow a girl is named Maury, as in MAURY POVICH
Nice, Misty gives an ocean safety PSA.
Wow Misty's in luv. Ash gonna be jealous since he's in LOVE
In this season Tracey's hair changed color again from green back to black.
This episode aired AFTER where Charizard becomes obedient, but he's disobident. The trials and tribulations of airing episodes OUT OF ORDER!
* Nice action scene.
** Pikachu eating cutely.
The scene with Ninetales dancing CLEARLY looked kinda furry-ish
* A funny scene with Team Rocket
*** REALLY nice music in the background of the gym battle.
*** Excellent, tense gym battle scene.
* I like the dance song in the background.
Closing Thoughts:
A very good episode!
The story was good, another nice gym battle premise, which broke the norm with the addition of tension between Misty and the leader, Rudy, who harbors romantic feelings for her. Created a nice twist.
The action scenes were quite well-done, especially the final one.
Humor was lacking, but that's the only complaint.
So I give it an 8/10.

I had a wall of text but I lost it.
Pokemon: Adventures In The Orange Islands Episode 26 "Pokemon Double Trouble" was a good episode. The story was good, another nice gym battle plot, the battling was intense, and humor was good, such as Misty's burn heal-worthy line at the beginning, Ash spending too much time in the hot tub, and Team Rocket fun. Very solid, 8/10.

ONWARD!
Pokemon: Adventures In The Orange Islands Episode 27 "Bound For Trouble"
* Pikachu being cute
** The scene of Ash walking backwards with rewind sounds
* Ash's big mouth trying to eat the apple
Wow! Team Rocket finally got Ash's Pikachu!
** Meowth's beserk faces after getting shocked. All in 5 minutes, very funny ep so far.
I like the Pikachu transition screen
Aww Meowth getting petted is CUTE!
* Meowth getting shocked again.
Wait if Meowth doesn't have a nose than how come he could smell the Gloom? CONTINUITY ERROR
** Very well-done chase scene. Meowth also had another good face.
* Meowth tickling Rhydon
*** ADORABLE scene with Pikachu and Meowth, they share an apple, followed by a nice montage with lovely music, and AWW he falls asleep in Meowth's lap!
** And a good action scene.
*** MORE good faces from Pikachu and Meowth, and another funny scene with Team Rocket.
Closing Thoughts:
A cute, funny episode!
This episode was about Pikachu and Meowth getting tied up together, and have to deal with eachother. Their arguing and bickering was very fun and amusing, and the animation was very loose and expressive, the facial expressions here were particularly funny and wacky. We also got some cute emotional scenes with Ash and Pikachu, and one with Pikachu and Meowth!
Add that to some very good action and we got a great ep! 8.5/10.
