you're given his Zorua by Rood, and his Zoroark appears at Victory Road

We always have the infamous N is actually Zoroark-theory, too.

N can talk to Pokémon, behaves in a strange way, the Zoroark in Victory road mysteriously disappears and he's there instead, etc.
...Though, just like the whole Shadow Triad is the Striaton trio thing, it's probably not true.
