Zero Estinja

Luckily for Zero, Instinct High was relatively close to his house, so the walk there was essentially twenty minutes or so. After walking in silence, Zero made it to the courtyard of the high school.

"Ah... Instinct High. I haven't seen this place at all after graduation." He told himself, stretching his arms as he made his way through the courtyard. He ignored the fountain, as it was just an object to him, but what did catch his eye was a lone girl sitting on one of the benches. He thought about approaching her, and was going to go through with it, but upon closer inspection, he could see she appeared quite exhausted.

"Best to leave her left alone since she seems pretty worn out." He thought to himself. "She's here for a reason, so I'll see her again." It hadn't dawned on him that others could have gotten the same letter from Tessaro till just now. It's highly likely that others are in the science room with Mr.T.

He made his way up the stairs, with a positive attitude, taking a mental note of how quiet and empty the school building was. He was excited because he knew that if one person was already here, there had to be others, and Zero was always a peoples person.

After reaching the third floor, he naturally walked to the classroom as if he was still in school. Without hesitation, she opened the door. His primary concern were the people in the classroom, rather than Mr.Tessaro and the contents of the letter.

"Ayyee!" he said in a cool tone towards the class. He turned from them to Tessaro, glancing at the muffins and Pokeballs in the process. "Yoo, Mr.T. Long time no see. I bet you didn't expect me to graduate, did ya?" He asked with his mischievous smile. "I'm surprised you haven't kicked the bucket yet." He joked, patting Tessaro's back in a bro like manner.

"I wonder whatcha got planned with these Pokeballs." He stated, looking over at the box of muffins. Assuming Tessaro bought it himself for everyone else to eat. Ten left. He looked at the amount of people here and so far, only one of the five was currently eating a muffin. "Maybe somebody here or Tessaro ate one." He thought. Still, taking more than one didn't seem like too bad of an idea, so that's what he did. He took three.

He thought about where he should sit while taking the muffins and thought that maybe the girl who was eating a muffin would be cool to talk to. So that's exactly what he did. He pulled a seat next to her and sat down, kicking his feet up, making himself well at home.

"Wassup, muffin girl!" He greeted, attempting to jump straight into a conversation just before biting into the delicious sweet treat.

Arabelle Whinch
Type 1: Grass
CR: 1
Location: Instinct High School Courtyard->Mr.Tessaro's Classroom

It was funny how suddenly the school seemed so lively, people came in and out of the courtyard in succession, despite it being completely empty aside from Arabelle only a short while ago. Why they were here Arabelle was unsure, but she assumed it had something to do with Mr.Tessaro's letter to her, it would have been a bit much to assume only she was requested. In fact, she was sure she saw a few familiar faces pass by. While she was exhausted, and she was probably going to get a hotel for the night to avoid the walk back home she decided she should make her way to Mr.Tessaros classroom. She could only assume this is where she was to go to meet up with the teacher, and perhaps the other students.

Somewhat discontented, Arabelle lifted herself to her feet and began her way to the school's entrance, giving one last look at the fountain in the courtyard. As the doors shut behind her she noted how absolutely eerie the endless school hallways were without the obnoxious fluorescent lights, shrouded in darkness shadows cast in every shape and direction. She was sure that she would have left or something along those lines if she didn't know there were other students in the building, and presumably her old science teacher.

Now a bit on edge she continued her trek down the hall, looking to the wall, taking in all of the familiar paintings, photographs, and award cases lined with trophies and plaques. It hadn't been very long that Arabelle passed through these halls on a day to day basis, binders and textbooks in hand as the hordes of people rushed from one end of the school to the other, scrambling to get to class. There was hardly any individualism at a school this large, just nameless faces all doing their own thing, taught the same way, treated like a group, a class. Students would split into their clicks, clicks of which had settled long before Arabelle had come to this school.

There were mixed feelings that flooded through Arabelle at being back here, she remembered stress more than anything, and a bit of loneliness. The more she thought about it the more she felt like nothing had really changed. At school she minded her own business unless forced into group projects, not wanting to disturb the peace of the current school hierchy, alone to her work. Now, she lived in an empty apartment, with nothing but meaningless furniture and necessities. She interacted with her clients and their pokemon, but few of them were pleasant. Perhaps she needed a pokemon of her own, she was rather fond of cat pokemon, and purrloin were rather common.. Maybe she would check out the local poke-shelter before she went home, she could really use the company.

The thoughts of adoption were pushed to the backburners of her mind as she reached the first set of stairs. She stared long and hard for a few seconds before she made her was up to the second floor, hand resting on the guard rail more out of habit than for actual safety. Before long she was on the second floor, and soon after that the third floor. Previous alarm resettled in her stomach as she headed for Tessaro's room, with a clear mind she could only focus on her surroundings, and the distant sound of voices offered little comfort. She should have followed one of them in, she wouldn't be so nervous if someone else was there.

Rolling her eyes at her own foolish fear she paused outside of the room she knew as the science room, as well as the one that the voices filtered through from. She gave three quick knocks before pushing the door open, peeking in to see Mr.Tessaro perched behind a desk, pokeballs lined up across it, six other people in the room with him. Four males and two females. And then there was the box of chocolate muffins. She hadn't eaten yet, and she was exhausted.. Chocolate is also supposed to make you happy and give you energy, Arabelle saw no downfall in taking one, especially considering others were eating them too.

Approaching the box she snatched herself a muffin before settling down at the wall, leaning against it as she took a bite, scanning the faces in the room. She recognized most of them, but they didn't hold a huge significance to her, she probably never spoke a word to most of them. Curiosity got the best of her, and she found herself staring at th eline of pokeballs and her teacher, just what did he have planned for them?

Theo already had his earphones in as he made his way through town, tapping on walls and lampposts and hitting the air with imaginary drumsticks as he went. His soda was tucked into the side pocket of his pack. He was close to the edge of town when he spotted his friend, Nikki, leaving a coffee shop nearby. Nikki had already spotted him, waving as he ran over.

Theo took out his earphones, slinging them back around his neck. He smiled as Nikki finally caught up to him. Nikki was a little more than a half inch taller than Theo. His hair was tan always with a single, long blade of hair sticking up in the back-center of his head. He always wore glasses with tinted lenses (even indoors), which hid the real color of his eyes (which were amber). He was wearing a tan shirt that practically matched his hair and a pair of jeans that were really blue, but were so faded that they almost looked gray-ish. "Hey Theo, it's been a while since we last saw each other..." Nikki said. It was true, their schedules were so different this year, and they had no classes together. They had passed each other in the halls a few times, but a quick pass like that didn't really count.

"Yeah..." Theo said, rubbing the back of his head. There was an awkward pause between them.

"Hey listen," Nikki said, breaking the awkward silence, "I have nothing going on Tuesday night, you wanna come over? We could watch..." Theo already knew what Nikki was going to say next as he held his hand up like a microphone. "...THE BIG TUESDAY NIGHT GAME, LIVE FROM THE NIMBASA SPORTS COMPLEX!! THIS WEEK: THE MISTRALTON STARAPTORS versus THE NIMBASA FLYING EMOLGAS!!" Nikki shouted, doing a near perfect imitation of the TV announcer. They both laughed.

"That'd be great," Theo said.

"Hey I'd better get going, I'll seeya then," Nikki said, waving and heading off quickly. Theo waved back until he was out of sight, his eyes already brightening at the fact he ran into his friend here. Then he popped his earphones back in, heading toward his destination. Maybe today would be a pretty good day?
-----------------

Before long, Theo was traversing Route 1. He stopped for a minute, paused his music and took off his earphones so he could take in the sights and sounds as he walked. Leaves littered the ground and danced in the wind. The sounds of the ocean could be heard not far off, the scent of sea salt mixing with the crisp scent of the leaves. He could hear Pokémon playing among the grass and trees. A couple of Patrat chased each other across the path in front of him as he walked. He watched a Lillipup as it sniffed around a little, then dashed off behind the trees. A few Pidove were hopping back and forth in the trees. Flocks of Swanna could be seen high above. Theo laughed a little as the Patrat darted across the path again.
-----------------

Sometime later, Theo was starting to wonder why exactly he had to walk all this way. This was taking forever... It's one thing on a school day... but why do I have to go there today?! he thought, then groaned out loud. After another minute or so, he saw another trainer ahead. He had already passed a few trainers along the way, they all had Pokémon out following or traveling with them. The one up ahead was a young trainer. He noticed a Minccino riding the trainer's shoulder as they passed by. Theo had often wondered what it would be like to have his own Pokémon...

The rustling of leaves in a tree nearby startled him. He stopped, and eyed the tree nervously. A Patrat popped out of the leaves and scurried across a branch. Theo let out a sigh of relief. Whew... good thing it was just a Patrat... he thought.

He looked at the path ahead. He must be almost there, he figured.
-----------------

Finally, he had made it to Accumula. He passed by the all-familiar sign and soon enough he was passing through town. His earphones had made their way back to his ears again sometime before he reached the end of Route 1. He glanced at a clock tower as he walked down the street, the clock read 12:53PM. Had it really taken that long to get here? It would probably be at least another half hour until he reached the school.

Soon enough, he was about a block away from school. He passed a wishing fountain, which looked oddly devoid of coins. He reached the school's courtyard. It was a rather uneventful moment for Theo, considering he saw this place almost every day. No one was around. He figured Mr. Tessaro must be in his room. He went inside. The school was completely empty, it felt weird seeing the halls so empty like this. Tumbleweeds could roll by and it would be rather fitting, Theo thought. He wandered down the hall and up to the second floor. He passed by a bunch of artwork on display. There were posters on the walls highlighting upcoming school events. He reached the next set of stairs and started going up.

It wasn't long before Theo started tapping the walls and using invisible drumsticks again. Because the halls were so empty, it was extra loud. The echo could probably be heard across the whole floor. When he reached Mr. Tessaro's room, he took off his earphones again and took a deep breath before he went in. He opened the door fast and walked in. He started waving his hands in an 'I can explain' motion. "Look, Mr. Tessaro, if this is about your keyboard-" he started to say, but stopped when he realized there were others in the room. He wasn't really expecting to see anyone else here. He glanced at everyone else, then at Mr. Tessaro's desk, then back at everyone else. He didn't recognize anyone. Well, a few of them looked familiar maybe... he had probably seen them around Nuvema Town before, or maybe in passing at school? One he thought he'd seen in a bakery before.

Theo wasn't sure what this was about, or really what to do now. He spotted the box of muffins on the desk, grabbed one, and decided to sit down and wait for his teacher to explain. He looked around before sitting at a desk next to a particularly short girl who was sitting under an open vent. Clumps of dust were falling from the vent opening.

Versaib_zps7salbc81.png

It wasn't a very long walk from the Library to the school—in fact, it might have been too short a walk. Versai arrived at the school to find it locked, and not a single light to be seen shining from any window. Thinking back to her letter, it did say to arrive prior to noon, though…perhaps not three hours prior. The letter was delivered to her home, and her old professor knew she worked weekends, meaning…perhaps she wasn't meant to discover the letter as quickly as she did. Perhaps she was supposed to find the letter on her lunch break, when she usually goes home for a time.

The hours went by slowly; Versai returned to the library, had a short tea and muffin break with Avery, and returned to her usual duties, until the clock struck the time of her usual lunchbreak. "Let's…try this again." She murmurs to herself as she locks the library door. This shouldn't take long, especially since Tessaro seems to have taken her lunch break into account.

Oncemore she makes the short trek between the library and the school, this time finding the doors unlocked, and, upon walking to Tessaro's old room, a light pouring in from the hallway, along with…multiple voices? Seems she wasn't the only one invited to…this. Now more confused than ever, Versai peers into the occupied room. There are, indeed, a multitude of people, most of whom she remembered seeing in the halls during her time here. Never being a social butterfly, she doubted she had ever had a conversation with any of them…She quickly searched the room for the man in question, to whom she flashed a polite smile.

"Good afternoon." She addresses the professor. "I'm sorry if I kept you waiting."

ALEXANDER TESSARO

As each young Hybrid file into the classroom, Alexander mutters a headcount under his breath. If even one of those he discovered had decided to disregard his message and go about their day, those standing before him would suffer the consequences.

Hybrids were a legend, a story told under the blankets at night when the adults were in bed and children were eager for a fright. One... wrong move could be disastrous. Arceus forbid that one of them be captured and made an example of.

"You must all be very curious as to why I called you here," he starts, stationary behind his desk.

"I have been studying you all for some time -" he holds hand up, to hold off any accusations. "Your parents and guardians," his eyes move from each former student at that - "are aware of this."

Unclasping his hands with much nervousness, Alexander taps one of the many PokeBalls in front of him. The ball tilts slightly under the pressure. "You may be able to guess where this is leading, but there is far more to it than that. I trust you all know of Hybrids, yes?" He stresses the title through clenched teeth.

"Monsters... as society perceives them. Freaks of nature, yet created by human. Anger was misdirected out of fear, not just of Hybrids; Giovanni, the man who sought to create his own empire using inhumane methods and very much illegal tactics. The public was scared but he was too powerful for any governmental official to take action, especially with a legion of genetic mutants to back him up."

Alexander found himself growing weary. Years of research and hiding what he knows has forced him into a life of solitude... To now share his findings with the very people he had been watching over since they were just children fills him with a sense of accomplishment. After this, he can rest - at least for a time.

"Over time, Giovanni realized he was fighting a losing battle. His Hybrids wouldn't stay loyal for long. Those that escaped grew more powerful, started chipping away at his resources and empire bit by bit until... he was forced to destroy what he created. A once feared man became loved, honored by the public. Redeemed despite the terrible experiments he put those poor children through."

His tone took on an edge. The injustice was obvious and never failed to make his blood boil.

"Hybrids ceased to exist... at least, that was what Giovanni said." Alexander stops speaking to look each Hybrid in the face, praying that this was sinking in. "He lied. There were and still are other Hybrids out there. His slaughter of those that were less fortunate sent a clear message: they would be next should they reveal themselves."

Allowing this to sink in, he pulls his desk chair out and takes a seat. History was not his subject, at all. However, it needed to be said if there was any hope of them believing his next words:

"And what would you think if I told you that there are Hybrids in this very room?"

Anthony Sorrel

To be honest, Tony had no idea what to expect. This whole situation was unprecedented, unusual, and slightly unnerving. And Tony was loving it. He didn't dare speak up, but his brain was working overtime to process what his teacher was saying.

He's been watching over us? And our parents knew about it? That makes a lot of sense, since Dad never really cared to look after me himself. It must have been a huge relief to him, having a trusted public figure like Mr. Tessaro making sure I was okay!

Tony leaned back, running both hands back through his hair, while Tessaro talked about the history of Hybrids. His speech faded into "blah blah blah" as Tony filled in the story in his brain.

Yeah, we all heard the stories. Men and women with great and terrible abilities, created to take over the world! But Giovanni couldn't control them, they had minds of their own. So they turned on him! In self-defense, Giovanni had to destroy the monsters he had created, and was hailed as a hero! But they say some escaped his wrath. Some are still out there, waiting for their chance at revenge! And you'll never see them coming...

Tony put his hand over his mouth, stifling a laugh. Ooh, spooky! He looked back, noticing that Mr. Tessaro had stopped talking and was taking a seat. Tony sat back up in his seat, hoping he hadn't missed anything important.

"And what would you think if I told you that there are Hybrids in this very room?" Tessaro asked, looking everyone in the eye. The question startled Tony, making him finally say something.

"Wait, really!?" He slid out of his seat, kneeling in front of the desk to put the Pokeballs at eye level. "You mean you actually caught some in these balls? That is so cool! And freaky! I didn't know you could do that!" He slowly moved his hand forward, his finger hovering inches above a Pokeball. "What's it like inside one of these...?"

One by one, Alex watched as more students filed in. All of them he was positive that he had seen them around school. First there was a boy who had brought in muffins. Out of all of the people in the class room, he was the most familiar. Alex thought for a moment and then realized he had remember seeing the guy working at the bakery here in Accumula Town. He and his mother would go to the shop from time to time to get things for there own baking. Alex and his mother did not own a bakery store, but in fact, there home was a bakery. They only took orders from people and didn't run a store. Alex and his mother were more of a catering business than a bakery. However, they got a large amount of orders. They would usually have at least eight orders a week. But it picked up ten fold around Autumn and Winter. Which is why he and his friends were going to help out today.

Only two other people really caught his eye and one of them was a red head. Although he couldn't figure out why, it almost seemed like there was a force between them that repelled. nit also attracted him to her. He was not certain what the force was, but somehow he knew that they would either become enemies or best friends in the long run if they were to take the time and speak to one another. There was one thing he was certain off though, they would probably end up being rivals.

He could not take his eyes of the fiery red head, as if she was a fire type and he was a Venomoth attracted to her flame, but knew better than to approach right away. He couldn't how, but realize that she wasn't that bad to look at either. He feared that he would end up being caught if he didn't break his stare soon.

It was then a short female dropped from the roof, making him jump with the sudden appearance. He was able to break away from the red head, thankfully.

He didn't really have any thoughts on the other trainers right away. Everyone seemed to have come in at once and before he could actually take the time to study everyone, Tessaro began to speak.

Alex took in everything that was said, peeking his interest, but also making him want to leave.

Hybrids? Here? How? Alex wondered.

My parents had told me about hybrids some. But I never really payed any attention to them. As far as I could tell, they were really pissed off humans that were turned into what they were against their own will. Most of them split from their family. I couldn't really blame them being pissed off. Alex continued to think.

"That is all fine and dandy Tessaro... but why are you telling us? I see no reasoning behind it. It sounds like a history lesson that i don't really care much about. Especially on a Satureday and when I am finally out of school...." Alex said, becoming a bit agitated that he was asked to come here when he could have spent the entire day with his friends. They had been planning it for days and it really annoyed him. Especially how it was a last freaking minute summons. Literally.

Versaib_zps7salbc81.png

There isn't much time to glance around the room before Professor Tessaro starts talking, though she manages to take in a few faces: There's the boy whose family owns the local bakery; what a blessing they are. Their baked goods are what keep the library's break room stocked—it was their muffins that she and Avery had for brunch that morning. When this is over, she should thank him for providing such delicious treats for their little town. Close by is a redheaded girl with fiery eyes; a girl Versai remembers vividly due to many students cutting a path for her when she walked down the halls. Across the room a blond boy is staring at her—not very subtly…then again, if he's who she believes him to be, she shouldn't be surprised. This boy was quite the flirt, Avery going as far as to call him a womanizer more than once—perhaps one day she'll ask if Avery ever used the word to his face.

Before she can read any more faces, Tessaro begins to speak up, immediately grabbing her full attention. He's been…studying them? Suddenly Versai feels like a piece of meat under a microscope…it's an uncomfortable feeling, eased just a bit by the knowledge that her parents were aware, meaning they were alright with it…perhaps it's not as bad as it sounds, perhaps he meant to say he had been watching over them?

Then he said it, the taboo word, the more he speaks, the more closely Versai watches him, her eyes growing larger the longer he goes on. So…there are still hybrids…

In. This. Room.

He's been watching them…their parents were well aware…there are hybrids…in this room.

The realization comes so close to smashing Versai right in the chest, only to stop short by Anthony's enthusiastic outburst. His words brought her back down from her panic, and her worried expression eases back into a saddened smile. It would…be nice…if that's what he meant…though, somehow, she doubts it.

It's the blond boy's words that cause her calm expression to harden. She turns to boy, who must think himself quite entitled to spout off such a casual, careless response to such a serious situation. "Grow up." Her words slip out somewhere between a hiss and a whisper. It's quiet, but the aggravation drips from her tone like the poison on a Seviper's fang. "Can't you see what he's trying to tell us?" Their professor is trying to break it to them gently…deliver the world shattering news that they…they are…they are a word that is so taboo Versai does not wish to repeat it, and this ignorant boy has the nerve to be angry that Tessaro dare interrupt his precious Saturday. Anger at his pompous remark swells inside her, though...that anger is likely a distraction from the real issue at hand: The revelation threatening to crush her entire existence...a cold, hard truth...that everyone in this room...is a monster.

Theo Delvan

Theo continued looking back and forth at the others in the room, slowly picking away at his muffin. For the most part, everyone seemed to be older than him... maybe that's why he didn't really recognize them. He set his soda in front of him next to the muffin, the cup only had a little bit of soda and some ice left. It felt awkward with no one talking. He sipped the last of his soda loudly, then shook the ice around as he set the cup back down.

As another girl entered the room, Theo realized it was happening... that foul stench... his breath! Oh no, not again! Theo thought as he clasped his hands over his mouth. Why was this happening so much lately?! He hoped the others hadn't noticed his breath, especially not the short girl next to him given how close he was sitting to her. He glanced a few times to the side at her to make sure. She seemed to have yet to even acknowledge his presence, so he breathed a small sigh of relief.

Mr. Tessaro suddenly spoke up, snapping Theo back to attention. He had been studying them? Well this got weird fast!

His tone changed as he brought up... hybrids? Everyone knew the stories and rumors, Theo had often heard them on the streets when he was young. But wait... couldn't Mr. Tessaro get in trouble for even just talking about this?

Theo didn't really get what this had to do with anything though. Mr. Tessaro sat down again in his chair. He looked tired. Then he said, "And what would you think if I told you that there are Hybrids in this very room?"

What??

Someone got up and went over to Mr. Tessaro's desk. "You mean you actually caught some in these balls? That is so cool! And freaky! I didn't know you could do that!" they said, moving in closer to look at the Pokeballs.

Oh, that must be it! Theo stood up and leaned on his desk. "What? Really?! That's so awesome!" he shouted, staring in awe at the Pokeballs on his teacher's desk.

"Wassup, muffin girl!"

Emery glances down at the boy settling into a seat beside the desk she's positioned by. "Did I take your lunch money once upon a time?" She questions in an effort to deduce his true intentions of striking up a conversation. 'Small talk' wasn't her thing. She shifts from one leg to another, allowing a better angle to stare him down from.

There was nothing familiar about him or the others that arrived, not even the one that had an impressive entrance; the vents. She gave the young woman an impressed nod.

Her mood shifted once Tessaro spoke. From boredom at the novel length speech, intrigued as the taboo subject of 'Hybrids' was brought up to complete and utter disbelief at the insinuation.

Two kids had scrambled to the front of the classroom, under the impression that there were Hybrids inside Pokeballs. Another was affronted by his own personal time being wasted - she threw him a look at that, one of her rare 'even I'm judging you right now' glowers. Then the one person whom had put two-and-two together. Her voice was quiet, barely more than a whisper but Emery heard the accusatory tone and smirked.

The impossibility of what Tessaro was saying began to set in. In her youth, Emery had wished endlessly for the powers Hybrids wielded - no one could force her to do anything ever again. And maybe if the five year old inside wasn't skipping for joy at the thought, she would question this. It's surreal, hard to believe but it felt right.

For her, anyway. She glances around, curious as to how the others were handling this information.

Garett Temero
____________________________________________________

Garett silently sat back and watched as more people entered the room. He remembered seeing all of these people at least once in passing through the halls of the school but couldn't place names with any of the faces. As he looked around the room he began to feel a slight sense of disappointment at the realization that he hadn't noticed there were muffins in the room. It seemed that everyone except him had noticed the box of muffins.

I wonder if this would be a bad time to go see if there's any left in the box… Garett thought as he stared at the box sitting onTessaro's desk.

Garett looked back to Tessaro once he realized the teacher wasspeaking. The professor was saying something about hybrids and Giovanni claiming they were all dead. Garett raised a single eyebrow as Tessaro claimed there were hybrids in the classroom. Garett stared off into space as questions started filling his mind.

Is he saying he's a hybrid? Is he saying some or all of us are hybrids? Pretty sure I'd know if I was. So then who in here is the hybrid?. Garett looked at all of the people in the room as he tried to figure out who Tessaro was specifically talking about.

One of the boys in the room questioned Tessaro, asking why the information was relevant to the group. Garett leaned forward in his seat as he decided this meeting was definitely more interesting that he had originally thought it would be.

"Can't you see what he's trying to tell us?" One of the girls quietly said to the boy, obviously angered by his question.

At this, Garett looked closer at everyone's faces and noted that nobody seemed like they knew they were a hybrid. Tessaro did say 'hybrids' implying multiple. So that means at the very least it's not just him. So that must mean that-

"-We're all hybrids…" The words slipped out as he quietly muttered his thoughts out loud. Garett silently stared at his desk, unsure whether he should be happy about discovering that he has powers or to be concerned that the rest of his life will be spent running from people trying to kill him. But two things were certain for him. His life was taking a big turn and he most likely wasn't making it home for dinner.

Alex looked around the room as one girl spoke up against him, telling him to grow up, followed by other comments. He noticed the red head looked at him as if she was judging him. He just kinda shrugged.

He then turned back to the girl who had told him to grow up, "Oh I'm sorry. I didn't think answer his question was an immature thing to do. I also didn't know that asking a question was immature. He asked what we thought if he was to tell us there was hybrids in the room. So I answered." Alex closed his eye and threw up his arms in his own defense.

"Besides, I have a right to be a bit annoyed do I not? He asked us to come here immediately, on a Saturday. I live in the next town over. Now I don't know abut you, but I don't particularly care much for anyone that asks us to meet him four hours prior to the meeting. That is like a client asking me and my mother to bake 300+ Cookies with no prior knowledge and then tells us he need them in three hours. Right?" Alex asked, as he looked at the girl that told him to grow up.

Alex then heard one of the boys near by say that they were hybrids. That caught Alex's attention and then he looked at Mr. Tessaro. Alex hid any thoughts in his head for the moment and smiled, easily hiding any doubts or fears from his attitude. He thought about Mr. Tessaro's smile that he had on when Alex had entered his room.

"I do know that Tessaro was smiling when we first entered. So even if we were hybrids, he must be overjoyed to tell us. Otherwise I am not sure why he would be smiling at an empty class room. Unless of course there are ghost type hybrids in this room. So my real thoughts? I don't think it would be that bad. But, wouldn't we all have to have at least one hybrid as a parent? I don't know about the rest of you, but I for one haven't seen any sign-" Alex stopped as important events reentered his mind. The coolness he tried to put on faltered a bit, going silent.

He started to question those events that had happened when he was younger. His father leaving. The fire that severed the bond between him and his best friend. He looked away from the group and walked to the back. He looked on the ground, hand on his chin. If he was a hybrid, what would he tell Willian and Yuki? Would they hate him? Would everyone in his town turn against him? It is true that he didn't hate hybrids, they were just people, but not everyone thought the same way he did. He wouldn't be able to keep a secrete from his two friends that was that big. If he did, he would probably always feel bad.

Not a single good thought was flowing into his mind at the time. He kept he face down to try to hide it from others. He truth, most people that he knew though he was fearless. They thought he was average. But in fact, he was fairly smart and he only acted tough in most cases. Hell, most of his friends thought he was forced to bake. There was only a few who knew otherwise.

As all of this raced through his mind, he realized an important thing... he was more alone than he thought. The possibility of his friends turning their backs on him scared the hell out of him. Especially if he was truly a hybrid. If they did... there would be no one... Half of the people he hung out with didn't even know the real Alex.

Alex pushed everything to the back of his mind and turned back to Tessaro. Alex's cool and calm face returned. However, there was a hint of anger in his face this time. Angry at the fact that it was possible that people had known that he was a hybrid, but never told him. To Alex, everyone in the room, but Tessaro, had completely vanished as most of Alex's attention fell on him.

Anthony Sorrel

Only one other person shared Anthony's enthusiasm for the situation. The others seemed to think he had misinterpreted it, and were apparently a little upset about it. Either they thought this whole thing was a waste of time, or the Hybrids weren't actually in the Pokeballs. In fact, one of the others muttered that the Hybrids...

(pause for dramatic effect)

...were themselves.

"Ha!" Anthony scoffed, a forced and nervous scoff. "Us? Hybrids? Come on, don't you think we'd have noticed if we were?" He sounded less than sure, and started legitimately asking questions. "Would we? Or would it take time, and training, before we figured it all out? What's in the balls? Are we really Hybrids?!"

He looked at Tessaro, then back to the others, then back at the Pokeballs. He suddenly smiled, his eyes almost sparkling with excitement. "If we are, that would be awesome! I mean, terrifying, yeah, giving up all we ever knew, being hunted for something we have no control over, forced to live a lie... but other than that, awesome!"

He stood up, turning to look at the others. "Am I right? I can't be the only one who thinks this is a little cool."

Zero Estinja

Zero shrugged happily and leaned back in his chair closing both eyes at Muffin girl's response. "Can't a guy talk just to talk?" He asked with a smirk, more than comfortable in the seat. He could tell just by the way she spoke that she wasn't one to be manipulated. Yet.

Seconds later, Tessaro began his speech to the room full of people. Zero had a good look at Tessaro's face and body as he spoke. He focused on his tone, where he looked, and more importantly, what he said. Zero already had a good idea of where Tessaro was going once he started bringing up the history of Hybrids.

"And what would you think if I told you that there are Hybrids in this very room?"

Before Zero spoke, he decided to see what others had to say to get a good grasp on what each and every single person's personality was like. He heard anger, confusion, and even excitement; all of which pleased him. The most difficult personality to deal with in his opinion was a personality that lacked emotion. So far, the room was filled with a variety of emotions.

Just as he was thinking about how to approach the others, his thought train was interrupted by probably the most enthusiastic person here.

"...I can't be the only one who thinks this is a little cool."

I stand up from my seat with haste, hands pressed down on my desk.

"I agree! If we are hybrids, imagine what we could do?! If we play our cards right, then imagine the possibilities!" Zero said out loud, mirror the excitement of the boy in front of him.

Yes. Positive emotions can ease the tension in the room. Maybe it is immature to be happy that our lives are now threatened, but we can't do anything about it. Being optimistic is the best way to go.

Despite being covered in lint and dust bunnies, Rail felt pretty cool of herself. She managed to make a kid jump and definitely got some people's attention. Although further inspection of the room left the short girl disappointed that she did not grab a muffin first. they smelled oh so good from here . . . But she already sat down. Can't break this cool demeanor

Oh, Mr. Tessaro is speaking now. Rail thought to herself, now listening to whom she thinks was once her teacher. What's he saying . . . Hybrids? What's with the history lesson . . . in this room. What. Our parents? Now this caught her attention. If what Tessaro is saying leads up to what she is thinking, then there is probably a good reason for why she lost her memories. Rail never really put thought into her memory loss since no one came to look for her, especially if her home town was just a walk away, but with this information it all makes sense. Maybe, just maybe . . . I lost them because--

"Wait, really!? You mean you actually caught some in these balls? That is so cool! And freaky! I didn't know you could do that! What's it like inside one of these...?"

Pfft! Rail covered her mouth with a hand to keep a laugh from coming out. The hell, how stupid is this kid? The boy's response to Tessaro's question and being the one to break the silence also broke Rail out her thoughts and brought her to a laughing fit that she is trying desperately to control.

"What? Really?! That's so awesome!"

Pffff!! What is with these guys? Rail had to hold in her laughter even more. She was almost certain that all of the guys here were fun idiots until she heard someone else talk.

"That is all fine and dandy Tessaro... but why are you telling us? I see no reasoning behind it. It sounds like a history lesson that i don't really care much about. Especially on a Satureday and when I am finally out of school...."

And there's the asshole talking. Rail thought, shaking her head. What is with these guys and being moronic. Well, most of them. Finally some people spoke up on how idiotic these three were being with one of them actually letting out that they themselves were the Hybrids. It took them long enough. That same idiot for earlier even saying that them being hybrids was 'cool.' Well . . .

"Depends on the type we are!" Rail called out, her voice usually quiet so she spoke out a bit more. "I better not be some stupid bug-type." she remarked, grinning just a little. No use in being upset or worried with this news. Better to just go with it and look at the positives. What positives there are.

Theo Delvan

In all the excitement over the possibility of hybrids being in the Pokeballs, Theo sort of tuned out what the others were saying for a few seconds. He turned around at the sound of laughter coming from the small girl he had sat next to when he came in, who was trying her best hold it in - laughter which seemed to be directed at him and the kid who thought that hybrids were in the Pokeballs. He folded his arms and made a face at her. He heard one kid talking about how annoying it was to be here, his comments seemed to be directed at the girl that had most recently come in.

Well, okay... so maybe there weren't hybrids inside the Pokeballs then. What did Mr. Tessaro mean then-

"We're all hybrids..." he heard the boy in the back of the room say.

The thought startled Theo. "What?" he said, raising his arms in a 'this makes no sense' kind of motion. "But that's impossible... isn't it?"

He heard a couple others questioning it too - the boy he had followed up to Mr. Tessaro's desk and the boy who was annoyed at being here, though the former sounded less than sure and the other fell silent mid-sentence. Theo thought about it. He shook his head, but now the thought was starting to sink in. He always had felt like the odd one out at school. He had always been that one kind of weird and quirky kid, but that wasn't the reason he felt like he was the odd one out... it always felt like it was more than that. Could this be why? He looked down at his hands. But wait, if he was a hybrid...

The room went black. What would his friend think? What would everyone else think? All the people beyond the confines of this classroom... they would see him as a monster wouldn't they? Well, Nikki probably wouldn't... Would he? And... huh...?

"...I can't be the only one who thinks this is a little cool." Hearing this, Theo snapped back to attention. The boy who was sitting next to the red-haired girl stood up and announced his agreement in a kind of dramatic way.

Wait, they thought this was... cool? Well, maybe it is a little cool...

"I better not be some stupid bug-type," the small girl said. Theo visibly shivered at that thought, he hoped no one here would turn out to be a bug-type hybrid...

A mix of thoughts and emotions was swirling around in Theo's head. He sat down again, this time one row over from the red-haired girl. Wait, Mr. Tessaro still hadn't confirmed anything though he thought, a tiny part of him still tying to deny it all. He gave his teacher a please say something look.

Arabelle Whinch
Type 1: Grass
CR: 1
Location: Instinct High School Courtyard->Mr.Tessaro's Classroom

"And what would you think if I told you that there are Hybrids in this very room?"

Arabelle had been tired about 10 seconds ago. 10 seconds ago Arabelle had pondered the possibility of sleep, of docking in at a hotel and sleeping under the crisp white sheets that smelled faintly of a flower meadow. 10 seconds ago Arabelle did not have a small feeling she may die in the classroom. She felt her jaw open, then close, then open again. Looking back at the moment she would say she looked like a magikarp behind the glass.

Immediately the world around her fuzzed out, and Arabelle was dragged into her own mind. Her mother had raised her to be cautious of hybrids, she was told they were dangerous, dangerous like a rabid houndoom. They could burn your flesh, jolt you with electric, poison you and let you die quickly or over a long period of time, drown you and your family... The dangers are endless, an infinite number of ways any type of hybrid could kill you. Her father avoided the topic, and hushed her if she asked about it, he tended to look rather nervous when he did, so she had always assumed he had the same opinion as her mother, but he refused to address the topic.

Rumour from the kids she once knew were that a hybrid burnt down her last school. What if the very same hybrid that supposedly burnt down her school was here? They could be any of them... Reality came back to Arabelle as she nervously side glanced to the students in the room around her, arms shaking slightly as suspicion slowly rose. She drew her tongue across her lips and looked back to her teacher, what did he need her for then? She couldn't do anything about some hybrid... Especially if they were a fire hybrid like she was assuming.

The fact that Mr.Tessaro had referred to "the" hybrid as "hybrids" suddenly hit her, and she felt herself become alarmed even further-there were more than one. How she missed this before she was unaware, and she began to squeeze her muffin subconsciously. She was overreacting to all of this. Squeezing her eyes shut, she took in a deep breath and let it out, trying to clear her mind of the worries and fear, even if there were hybrids... If they were going to harm anyone else they would have done that already, and Mr.Tessaro wouldn't risk the health and safety of the other students... Right?

At the mention of them being in the pokeballs she had to stifle a laugh, that was one way to lighten her mood, and that was impossible. Or at least Arabelle thought it was impossible. Not much was really known about hybrids, and Arabelle only really knew she was supposed to be scared of them if she ever encountered them and that they had types like pokemon did. Were the hybrids in the pokeballs and not the students that surrounded her? She wasn't sure, although she had her doubts of course. She agreed more with the other students, it was them that were the hybrids surely. But that left the possibility... Was she a hybrid?

As if she wasn't already alarmed enough, Arabelle found herself scraping her mind for memories that could prove her to be a hybrid but found none. She would have noticed if she had some unnatural abilities, right? She wasn't exactly some oblivious kid anymore, she lived on her own, she was an adult... And yet she was back at a high school pondering who or what was hybrids in a room full of ex-classmates.

What a way to start the weekend.

ALEXANDER TESSARO

Some had figured out his cryptic reveal and he nods to those who caught on, confirming their thoughts.

"This is hard to understand, I know... One of your biological parents passed along the gene. I don't believe that Giovanni himself knew that this was hereditary as he would have experimented on adults, not infants."

The suspicion was clear and he was on the way to losing them. Swiftly, he opens his desk drawer and pulls out a modified C-Gear. He points it at Garett whom has shown the most patience over his reveal. He powers the device, tapping on the required app and smiles in triumph as it displays his Poison typing, move set and ability.

"See for yourself, children." He nods to his open drawer with many C-Gear inside.

"One of your biological parents passed along the gene…" Those words brought Garett's attention back to Tessaro.

Passed on genetically? That must be why- The hairs on the back of Garett's back stood up as he realized Tessaro was focused on him. The teacher raised a C-Gear and pointed it at Garett.

"See for yourself, children." Tessaro said as he motioned for everyone to take a C-Gear.

Garett slowly rose from his seat and walked to the desk as memories flooded his mind. Explosions, maniacal laughter followed by screaming, and blood everywhere. Garett closed his eyes and took a deep breathe to try clearing his mind before he took the C-Gear that had previously been pointed at him.

Garett rotated the device in his hands as he noticed its appearance was different from any C-Gear he had seen. Garett looked at the words on the small screen, "Type: Poison - Ability: Poison Point – Moves: PoisonSting/Cross Poison"

"At least my typing matches" Garett smirked while looking at the black Seviper tattoo running up his right arm.

Name: Alex Hunt
Age: 18

Location: Instinct High School: Mr. Tessaro's Classroom. ✕█  Typing: Water ✕  CR: 1

Alex listened as Tessaro confirm that they were hybrids. Then confirmed his thoughts about all of them needing a parent, who was also a hybrid, to gain hybrid DNA. Alex assume that no one knew it was hybrid DNA could be transferred to offspring until recently. Alex was going through his mind. Things started to connect and he was almost certain that he was a Water Type Hybrid, based on his parents and how he acted around water.

He looked around. Only the one he thought was Garret moved forward and reached in right away. No one else seemed to move. He didn't know if they were in shock or just didn't want to truly know. Finally he stepped forward when no one else did. He made his way through the crowd of people and sea of desks. So much was going through his head. He could feel his heart pounding. He was nervous, feeling like he was going to be sick. He reached into his bag and felt around. His hand slid in a bag, touching dried meat. His nerves died down and the pounding of his heat also slowed. He pulled out a piece of jerky and stuck it in his mouth and he was at ease. He didn't know why, but different types of jerky would calm him down if he ate it. He liked all types of jerky from Stantler to Magikarp. He knew that his mother most have known this is what Tessaro wanted to talk about.

'That would explain why she made such a large bag.' He thought.

He reached for a modified C-Gear that was light blue color with grey streaks. He probably could modify it later with cases and modifications if he wanted. He was sure he could probably find some, even when these C-Gears are different. He felt that the C-Gear was somehow scanning his DNA. He closed his eyes and flipped it over. He took a deep breath... then opened his eyes.

The screen read:
"Type: Water
Ability: Water Veil
Moves: Water Gun and Bubble"

Alex looked at the C-Gear for a few seconds before speaking. His Father's love for Water Types... His own love for water.... And his mother's blue eyes.... the fire that he didn't even get burnt....

"That... explains... a lot..." He said in a low whisper.

His mother seemed to be joyful this morning...

'It has to be my mother... she must be a hybrid... probably water... But that doesn't explain why Dad left. What will Yuki and William think? Should I tell them? Would they accept it?' Questions fired off in his head.

He slight smile formed on his face... he felt.... happy... But why?

'I wonder... if I am a Water Type Hybrid... would I be able to communicate with Water Pokemon some how? And if that was the case... could I use the water and water pokemon of this world to find me father?'

He shook his head... he has power... he can't let it take over... He forced the last thoughts to the back of his head until another time.

He took a step back and let others take a C-Gear.
