Zuko (Infernape) (M) @ Life Orb
Ability: Iron Fist
- Flare Blitz
- Close Combat
- Earthquake/Mach Punch
- Swords Dance
A physical setup sweeper, Zuko is supposed to find an opportunity to boost on something that can't hurt
it or on a free turn, and then sweep. Earthquake is only available late-game, so by then I'll know if I want to replace Mach Punch with it.
Corona (Luxray) (F) @ Leftovers/Expert Belt/Assault Vest
Ability: Strong Jaw
- Thunder Fang
- Ice Fang
- Crunch
- Roar/Volt Switch
A bulky attacker and phazer/pivot, Luxray has the bulk, speed, power, and movepool to abuse Strong Jaw to full effect, and with the amazing coverage Thunder Fang, Ice Fang and Crunch provide,
it has a free slot to dedicate to a support move. The plan is mostly to run Roar, but Volt Switch will turn her into a bulky pivot, facilitating use of an Assault Vest.
Batman (Crobat) (M) @ Black Sludge
Ability: Infiltrator
- Brave Bird
- Cross Poison
- U-turn
- Roost
Danananananananana Batman! An often overlooked gem of a Pokemon, Crobat is not one you see every day, but certainly not for lack of stats, type or movepool. No, Crobat has all the tools it needs to be a bulky sort of tank support mon. Its offensive stats are alright, too, and allow it to do serious damage with Brave Bird and Cross Poison, which, while uncommon on Crobat, allows it to hit Fairies and some Grass-types super-effectively. The biggest reason is to help for Valerie's gym, though.
Nuregami (Milotic) (F) @ Leftovers
Ability: Multiscale
- Scald
- Ice Beam
- Toxic
- Recover
Milotic has always been tough to crack, but now that it has Multiscale, the NPCs would be tearing their hair out trying to even dent it without a Grass or Electric move, if they could feel emotion.
Continually restoring its HP back to full, hammering its foes with Scald and Ice Beam, and Toxic-ing anything that doesn't fear those moves, Milotic is doing what it's always done, but thanks to Multiscale, it's even better at it now. Whenever it gets itself back up to full, Multiscale recharges, to further improve its survivability. As if that wasn't enough, its decent 100 Special Attack lets it hit back with considerable force.
Basil (Serperior) (M) @ Life Orb
Ability: Overgrow
- Leaf Storm
- Draco Meteor
- Giga Drain
- Glare
Oh boy. I know this one. Being a veteran of Dray's hacks, and having completed Blaze Black 2/Volt White 2 at least twice, I'm well aware of the destructive potential Grass/Dragon Serperior has.
With TWO powerful Special moves that come packaged with a free Nasty Plot or your money back, plus 100% accurate paralysis for crippling speedsters and catching pokemon, and good semi-reliable recovery, Serperior is one spooky scary snake. Anything that survives a neutral Leaf Storm or Draco Meteor at +4 has got some serious Special Defense, but even those that resist it will be taking serious damage at +6. Serperior is all about momentum, and when it's easy to switch in freely with a Volt Switch or U-Turn courtesy of Luxray or Crobat, the opposition will have a hard time finding purchase when dealing with Serperior...
...Unless they have Ice Shard. Heh.
Dovahkiin (Sylveon) (M) @ Leftovers
Ability: Pixilate
- Hyper Beam
- Psyshock
- Shadow Ball
- Wish
In their tongue, he is Dovahkiin. Dragonborn!
HYPER VOICE!
Isn't it perfect that the dragonslayer also happens to be VERY proficient at slaying them via shouting? That nickname was only natural. And just like his legendary namesake, Sylveon is indeed quite a tough one to beat. He's a skilled Restoration mage, too, using his impressive 95 HP stat to provide some of the best Wish support in the game. Although many of this team have high HP values, all will appreciate the support anyway. His offensive power is not to be underestimated, though, with an incredibly powerful Hyper Voice, great physical coverage in Psyshock, and Shadow Ball to round it all off.
Kazaak (Scizor) (M) @ Scizorite
Ability: Technician
- Bullet Punch
- Bug Bite
- Roost
- Swords Dance
Finally, the team's Mega, Kazaak, full name KazaakplethKilik. Some may recognize his name as that of a legendary Mantis thief they may have once run into in FTL. Like his namesake, Kazaak is a great fighter, and specializes in hand-to-hand combat. Unlike his namesake, though, he backs that up with incredible bulk and survivability. You don't even need a teleporter to use Kazaak to his full extent. Scizor's Bullet Punch has been legendary ever since it got Technician in Gen 4, and with the new Mega Evolution, it's only gotten better. Bug Bite rounds off the STAB combo and provides more powerful neutral coverage if priority is not a concern. Swords Dance will increase his already stellar offenses to even greater heights (and with that much bulk and only one weakness, it certainly isn't lacking for opportunities to set up), and Roost will give him incredible survivability.
