4th Gen Favorite Generation 4 VGM?

What would what be your favorite track(s) from the Generation 4 games?

Mine would be Sinnoh's Route 216 theme, it has a good relaxing start, then moves on to more cheery theme. The route also reminds me much of where I live during winter.

Aha interesting that you posted that. I'd have to say the Route 216 night-time theme is one of my favourites, although I haven't played the games in years (not an exaggeration, other than reaching Sandgem Town with a Turtwig a few months ago, my last save started in 2012 - i checked the dates on my Froslass).

The Battle Tower music is far more enjoyable than the facility itself, and I think makes up for the fact that unlike the Emerald one it doesn't let you clone your Pokémon:

Not one of my favourites but I find night-time Pokémon Centre to be the only time the Pokémon Centre music doesn't grate on me. I think it's because it actually fits the theme of them as places of rest, rather than being incessantly perky. Especially welcome when I ended up spending a lot of time in there trading back when the GTS etc. still worked.

I honestly think the music is one of the things Pokémon games do right, and having different night-time themes make DPPt stand out just a little. Given all my free time now is in what the pokémon games classify as night-time, its nice to have music that fits the time, sometimes I'm playing LeafGreen with only a lamp on and Cinnabar Island's theme even manages to seem too perky (even though its one of my all-time favourites across generations).

Canalave City, Twinleaf Town, Gym/E4 themes, Rowan's Lab, Cyrus' theme, and Hearthome City to name a few.

My favourite Gen 4 soundtrack would be the music for Route 209 (Day version). Easily one of the most soothing soundtracks I've ever heard.

Alongside the Frontier Brain theme that I've mentioned, if I can pick any other theme that would also be my favourite, it would be this.

The eerie feeling in this soundtrack. You can really feel it.

This one is completely underrated. The Game Corner music from Veilstone City in the Sinnoh games was my favorite. No one remembers it, but it is one of the most upbeat tunes in the game. And it even has a part in it that reminisces on the original Game Corner theme in Red/Blue...

My faves:
- Galactic Boss Cyrus: I don't care if I will become deaf, I cannot NOT blast this song at 100% volume with my earphones. The shivers I get from the later part of the song are incredible
- Lake Cavern + Uxie/Azelf/Mesprit battle: I find both sooo incredibly amazing
- Champion Cynthia: the champion that will forever make you feel you are overleveled. The combination of her team, her character and this song are so iconic that Cynthia is still hailed as one of, if not the best champion of all games
- Frontier Brain: simply amazing

Overworld themes:
- Pokémon League (Daytime): combined with the different title theme and this, I felt DPPt is where the games got slightly more 'mature'. This theme is gorgeous
- Mt. Coronet: truly a place worthy of gods
- Hall of Fame: I've heard this song a dozen times and it still feels like I'm standing at the beginning of my adventure, ten years ago
- Global Trade Station: I spent so many hours of my time here
- Route 205: so many route themes are amazing, but this one is my favourite

This gen had suuch good music and the soundfont was so special. I don't know what the hell the specific instruments they used are called (except dat bass) but they go so well together. I think the soundfont and the OSTs give a realy good representation of what the region is like as a whole: very bright and peaceful, but it's the house of some big secrets and the very god of the world. That's definitely the charm of Sinnoh for me.

Special shout out to the Title Screen theme; why the fuck is that so creepy? I've yet to get an answer on this...

but my favourite and i'm surprised nobody mentioned it (well i suppose not many consider Mystery Dungeon part of a particular gen)

Mission-SoA (A very driving soundtrack used in the routes of Almia as Kellyn/Kate gets out of the school and starts their ranger career. Hoenn fanatics? This soundtrack contains horns)
Renbow Island-PR:GS(man, this is so uplifting! The driving, uplifting parts are alternated with more serene ones possibly conveying immensity, that are still accompanied by drum, that keep them driving.)
Kanto routes 26&27-HG&SS(let's be honest : all the hg&ss route soundtracks are magnificent, the anime arrangements of those route tracks are also superb, but I might have a slight thing for this... you see, it's literally a journey that ends and an other that begins)
Sinnoh route 209-SSBB(this track felt too nostalgic in-nevermind, this arrangement ALSO feels nostalgic... but it's magnificent nevertherless)
Route 206 and others-Pok?mon Anime,DP(I'm not surprised an unused arrangement of this track was used for most mystery zones in D,P&P)

Battle soundtracks:
Gem guardian/legendary capture theme-Soa {Driving and stressful, as if some real junk is ongoing! This theme is used by all the in-game legendaries[except darkrai and regigigas(plus a lucario--if you're a student you'd understand this bracket thing...)]}
Team Dim Sun grunt capture theme-SoA(they messed up Almia for good & almost managed to accomplish their goal, why do they have such a playful, upbeat yet serene track? Simple: they're even funnier than the Go-Rock Quads, their predecessors in the ranger games!)
Pok?mon Pincher capture theme-PR:GS[Playfulness bye-bye ? go-g?! The Pinchers in the Oblivia archipelago mean real deal(I think...), and this soundtrack makes it clear!]
Defy the legends-PMD:EoT/D/S(remember the soundtrack used in the final battle in Red&Blue rescue teams? Well, now it's the official OST for the in-game legendaries! And it's as driving as you may remember!)
Battle against Dialga/Palkia atop spear pillar-SSBB(I forgot the beauty of the battle track back in diamond, but thanksfully the interned got that covered! And this over here is quite a nice arrangement(alternated with the rearranged spear pillar soundtrack)!]
Dialga's fight to the finish-PMD:EoT/D/S(Feels from the game, if you played it you'll understand... whew, typing stuff can be tiring...oh, yes, a good part of this composition is also used in the "Time gear" theme)
Team Galactic grunt battle-SSBB[I can remember this theme from DPP quite clearly(or should I type... loud and clear?*Ba-dum-tss!*) and I enjoy the brawl arrangement even more!]
Team Rocket grunt battle-HG&SS(of course it would be here!Driving and maybe a bit dark, with a particularly stressful part that adds up perfectly!)
Avant 1(Johto wild battle)-Pok?mon Movie 10(I heard you liked the Johto wild battle theme, so I brought you a rearrangement I thought you'd like!It mixes up orchestra and rock, as tradition of the animated series!)

Settlements:
Treasure town-PMD:Beyond time & darkness(the EoT/D/S track, except there's a clean rip of the anime special's arrangement! \o/)
Floraror...frolo... screw this, Giardinfiorito at night!-DPP(a lovely composition, no doubt! I tend to prefer the nocturnal variant with its arches)
Several Johto settlements-HG&SS(look, it's hard for me to show preferences, and this post is getting sooo large...)
Twinleaf town-Pok?mon Anime,DP(we can all agree that every single hometown theme is magnificent, actually NO, all the homely tracks across the franchise are supereffective!)

Other locations:
Pok?mon Center at night-DPP(what do I need the t for? Anyway, this soundtrack is here for... nostalgia reasons. It does, feel serene and a bit nostalgic, and reminds me of all the evenings I went to a PC's pc and checked the boxes, and all the times I've put the DS under the pillow xD)
Ranger base-PR & SoA(a driving, joyful fanfare... or is it a march?)
Sinnoh pok?mon league(day & night)-DPP(couldn't quite decide between the carillon-like one and the piano-like one, so I included both! ~~I originally preferred~~ actually, no, I still prefer the joyful Evergrande track to this, you know why? This track already gave me nostalgic shivers years ago, now it does that even more!)
Altru Inc.-SoA[a mildly soothing "elevator music"(is that how you call it?)that makes me wonder if the music is actually playing inside the structure... guys, do you think pok?mon centers, pok?marts ad other structures have speakers that send out the music?]

Etc.:
Wi-Fi communication-DPP(I remember gladly this calming music, but also sadly and with frustration since neither of the DS I had was compatible with my old router >D:<. Also, if on Essentials I were to make a game with mystery gifts, I'd use THIS instead of the B,W,B2&W2 soundtrack meant for it)
Global Trade Station-DPP(I'm frustrated with this one too for the reason typed above, but this soundgtrack is still uplifting and driving. I tend to prefer the HG&SS soundfont since it tends to sound more like an orchestra in the routes, but ironically I prefer the DPP variant of this track.)
Laboratory(opening)-Pok?mon anime,DP(one of the three anime rearrangements. I might prefer this one. A route in Unova uses part of this composition, as it it were to wrap up the times of the DS games)

I completely agree.

I saw the track on YouTube thumbnails but wanted to avoid it until I heard it for myself. When I finally got to a Frontier Brain, Battle Arcade's Dahlia (Some might look down upon me for doing this first but oh well, haters gonna hate.), the music blew me away. This is how moments are made, moments that let you know you hit the big time. The intense yet bouncy music is probably one of my favorite tracks in the Pokemon series (next to Cynthia's theme, Red's theme, Route 119, and the Battle Subway theme in Gen V, among others.)
