3rd Gen Weird Quick Menu Bug?

What happened to the part where I can view my party? It glitched out when I saved the kid in the forest at three island when I didn't fight hypno instead I just ran from the battle did that cause it and how to fix it?!

(Edit: I was playing Fire Red forgot to say) Just some extra info here: I am playing with emulator so I have access to cheats if they are required to fix it (cheats didn't cause it)
I tried resetting the game and fighting trainers but it doesn't help :/

I don't know if you ROM Hack, but there is a flag in FireRed that is set in the beginning of the game that lets you see the POK?MON menu. It looks to me like that flag got cleared somehow.
