Deep Discussion
Welcome to Deep Discussion. Here is where we house the PokeCommunity's more deep and mature conversations. If you're looking to talk about life, politics or important news (among other things), this is is the place for you. If you're after a more lighthearted chat, head over to Off-Topic.

Topics
There are three tags in Deep Discussion for you to make use of:

News: This is for threads relating to important world news such as disasters, elections or political scandals. Any events of national or international intrigue worth discussing (that don't belong in a specialised forum) go under this tag.

Life: Threads under this tag are for discussions about… well life. Things relating to work, academics, mental health, philosophy, economics, politics and law or adulting in any way, shape or form. If it's a discussion relevant to real life and you want real talk about it, it goes here.

Debates: Debate threads are those fun places where the OP intentionally place two opposing viewpoints against each other. Participants from both sides are welcome to come in at any time and share what they think and why. Hopefully at the end of the day, we all learn something as a result.

Rules
This section is a bit more lax than others in regards to what is considered an acceptable topic. That being said, to make sure that these more personal and mature topics still run smoothly, we do have some rules that you need to follow.

Global PC rules still apply: This means that while discussions relating to more mature topics like violence or sexuality are allowed here, you may not explicitly share content containing graphic violence or sexual behaviour.

Be respectful: You are entitled to whatever beliefs you might held, but other people are also entitled to their own. You can challenge someone's opinions, but you do not have the right to launch personal attacks based on a disagreement. Yes, even in debate threads. Trolling is not tolerated.

Spam will not be tolerated: Given the mature and often personal nature of the topics we house here, posts that are spammy or inflammatory will automatically be removed. You will only get one warning and if such behaviour continues, you will receive an infraction.

Please stay on topic: We realise that discussions are constantly evolving, but please do not stray too far from what the OP actually wants to talk about. Consider how closely the point you're making is actually related to the topic at hand. If it's not really that close, you might be better off making a new thread.

Be prepared to support arguments with sources: This applies more to debate threads than the other threads, however if you claim something as fact you should always be ready to support your statement with relevant sources. It's even better if you support yourself with sources to begin with.

Poor Sources
The internet is nothing if not home to a staggering array of information, but not all of that information is accurate. If you're trying to back up a point,
it's best to avoid options such as the following:

-Tabloids and any otherwise uncredible or unreliable news sources
-Youtube videos made by relatively unknown persons that do not provide or mention credible sources
-Any website with a clearly biased name and/or run by an organization with a clear bias
