      You can't get through the 1st floor of the Weapon Depot as Demo 3.1 ends in Silten City, I just left that floor as a taste of the completed dungeon which will be playable in the Final Version.
      Note: You may not want to walk too many times over the death-inducing floor tiles (those darker floor tiles that, when you walk over them, zap you and teleport you to the last PokeCenter you visited) as actually those are literally death floor tiles so it means that every time you walk over one of them you actually faint (in short: game over, if you're playing as nuzlocker those tiles will put an end dramatically to your nuzlocke run) so watch out!

      This is just a component of the traps, which are one of the unique things of this hack ROM: in order to make Dungeons more realistic and harder, some of the latest dungeons feature traps and\or bizarre features that prevent you from completing the game too easily, they range from poison-filled floor tiles (like in Prince of Persia 3D where there's a poisoned floor that kills you instantly) to other weird things... speaking of them, here's a preview of what can be found in the Final Version:

      O___O
      Legend of Grape A Link to Frejo's Awakening confirmed?

      My friend is in the terrace, mixing up the medicine, I'm on the pavement... thinking about Team Rocket...

      ...I don't need the weather man to know where the wind blows...!

      ...but... Oh, snap! That wind blowing on this terrace actually froze my Pokemon!
      The logic behind all of this: this wanna-be-outdoor balcony map is placed at such a high altitude that the blowing wind freezes your hands, in such way that it freezes the 1st Pokemon in your party as your frozen hand freezes even the pokeball.
      To avoid this side effect, a pair of gloves is highly recommended, in particular those Grip Gloves that everyone thought to be unuseful after Mt.Lyre are useful in situations like this one.
      NPCs give you a hint about this.

      Naah
      , not again!
      But, wait, weren't those arrow tiles supposed to be originally in another dungeon in the original game?Yes, I created this from scratch rather than recycle a map from the Casino Hideout.

      Is a comment needed even there?

      Okay, the more you proceed in this game the more it gets insane, both in advanced features and situations.
      I was even starting to add a caterpillar-system based event where Chuckie from Children's Play was supposed to stalk you trying to kill you but I judged this way too crazy and out of nowhere for the story.

      Also, to anyone interested: remember about the proposal for text oversight correction, apparently there was a wrong setting in my prfile that disabled private messaging, I fixed this so you can send me PMs as usual.

      That's it, see you next time!

        I don't know why the gen 1 and gen 2 hack have less attention than the other, because people don't like old graphic, Pokemon Prism and this hack make me very excited because of the changes in gameplay.

          Thanks!
          Even if I'm still hacking with obsolete methods I'm trying to do my best with this hack.

          By the way, here's a small update regarding the beginning of the game:

          There are some new features in the player's house, some are just minor improvements and details, others are completely new things:
          *Text has been added for the windows, clock, fridge, sink, hoover and drawer. The drawer works in such way that you have to interact with it on the right side, otherwise the "Oops, wrong side" message is displayed (just like in the case of the TV);
          *RADIO: a feature imported from Gen.2 games, the player can switch music in his room by turning on the radio;
          *An instruction manual has been placed on the previously unused table, it gives you many useful hints about things you may not notice if you play this hack for the first time, in particular it describes:
          1-the use of the Running Shoes and Kart Turbo\Boost;
          2-the new types;
          and at last it gives you information about the Nuzlocke Challenge and how to play it just to remind it to you... who knows, that might be useful in the future.

          I'll post new things about Pokemon Grape as soon as I implement something important or interesting, that's all I've got for today, have a nice Sunday and don't miss the news about Pokemon Grape! :)

            I've been playing this game using GameYob, and I'm having fun with the difficulty and challenge. However, I'd prefer a Pokemon location, evolution, and how to obtain document. I know not everyone likes those, but I feel they should be optional things to download if one chooses.

            And, also for cheating, testing, and completion reasons, a list of item and Pokemon two digit codes for the wild/buy in shop GameShark codes.

                Thanks for playing Pokemon Grape!
                I was about to start a comprehensive guide about Pokemon Grape, however it's far from over as there are so many things to write and I'm having a hard time at creating a full-size Route Map as MS Paint crashes (yep, Paint kinda sucks sometimes).
                As for the lists about Pokémon location, evolution etc: I consider your proposal, so in the next release there will be a .txt for such things.

                About the GameShark codes... uhm, Pokémon Grape is basically a highly modified version of Pokémon Red so many gameshark codes from Pokémon Red should work, but you're warned: since there were so many changes in the "source code" it's possible that many Gameshark codes won't work, some may even glitch your savegame.
                The Codes for buying different items at the PokemonMart as far as I know still work, but some codes (for example PokéDex completion) won't work correctly and will glitch your game.

                The Codes for capturing different wild Pokemon work until a certain point: after a certain value (0xC8 if I remember correctly) due to how the original game was programmed you will likely encounter a Trainer rather than a wild pokemon, its pokémon team however consists of the Pokemon associated with that value... it's difficult to explain, so here's an example:
                You inserted a gameshark code whose value (indicated usually as "XX" in Cheat Sections) is C9 and it indicates a particular pokemon specie (Gliscor, if I remember correctly), however, if you search in the tall grass you won't find a wild Gliscor but you'll find a Youngster whose team consists of 6 Gliscor.
                Fortunately, you can use properly the "Steal Pokemon from trainer" cheat to snag a Gliscor from that trainer.
                The topic "Use cheats or not" has already been discussed a lot of times, many can find it intresting while many others may find more exciting completing the game on the hard way... in short it's up to you to use them or not.
                In any case remember that all 248 Pokémon featured in this hack can be obtained without cheats, so gameshark codes aren't strictly necessary, of course, some rare pokemon are rare to find and the search for them may be frustrating, but for those rare pokémon there's already a cheat from Pokémon Red that is compatible even for Pokémon Grape.
                As for the values: I have them written somewhere in one of my paper manuscripts (yes, I'm old-fashioned), as soon as I find it I can write down there the values for the new added Pokémon.

                I hope my answer is enough detailed (yes, I know, sometimes my walls of words in a post are boring).

                Hello! :D
                You can reach the 4th GYM by reaching a sort-of hidden passage, I won't ruin the surprise by spoiling all details so I'll give you a hint: check out the Buris City Casino, the poster hanging on the wall is... interesting, that's all! :)
                However, you may want to heal your Pokemon before attempting to enter in there.
                ---
                Okay, it's time for new screenshots!

                This is one of those little details that distinguishes this hack from any other ordinary Pokémon Red hack, I'm busy in editing even those little things sometimes.
                For those that don't know: this is the Magnet Train, it works in similar fashion as the lift of the Rocket HQ in Pokémon Red.
                It seems a simple modification, but actually it wasn't so easy as it looks as now normal lifts work differently from the Train interior (as they show the normal dialoge "which floor do you want?")

                A dragon shrine in Gen1? This looks almost identical as it's Pokémon Gold counterpart.

                Water flowing from certain rocks, in Pokémon Fire Red fashion.

                Remember this spot: as of Demo 3.1 it is completely aesthetical and useless, but in the Final v1.0 this will have its utility for a certain task.
                Yes, this hack has a lot of backtracking sometimes.

                A couple of screens from the revamped Fish Factory, now it's not empty anymore and it will have it's utility too (ignore the Team Rocket member as it's a placeholder), I remind you, the Fish factory is an optional Dungeon.

                The funny thing about this hack ROM is that the more you proceed further in the game the more it gets interesting.
                Here is the Panopticon Underground, the underground counterpart of the most insane (double) dungeon ever created for a Pokémon Red hack: Panopticon.

                That's it for now, see you next time!

                  also, what are the grip gloves for? I've had them in my bag just in case, but i ended up finishing the demo with them still in the bag

                    Thanks! :D

                    The Grip Gloves are undispensable for passing past Mt.Lyre as one of the ladders in the sidescroll area is slippery and you can't climb it without the Grip Gloves.
                    The Grip Gloves are useful also later in the game at least in a couple of occasions: as I mentioned in an earlier post, the Grip Gloves prevent your Pokemon from freezing in certain areas, and in the other occasion you'll need both the grip gloves and the Grip Shoes for crossing an otherwise deadly area (that area I mention is literally deadly: the player blacks out if he attempts to cross it without what is required).

                    And now a new video showing something new from Final v1.0:

                    In the video the following new functionalities about water are featured:
                    *Coast Fix: No longer land Pokémon (or MissingNo.s) when surfing on a coast tile;
                    *Deep water (for DIVE) in multiple tilesets;
                    *Tile animation for both water and deep water in multiple tilesets;
                    *Animated waterfalls (like in the newest Generations of Pokemon games), this time it works (and looks) better than in the previous Demo releases, and it works everywhere;
                    Yes, there's too much water in Pokemon Grape :)

                    Okay, that's all I had to show for today, there are even more interesting things about this hack but those will be a surprise for the Final Version v1.0, in the meanwhile other interesting features and add-ons will be showed.
                    Have a nice Sunday! :)

                      I am just so extremely happy that I can come back to this thread once every 3-4 weeks and find that you're still working on it and that you haven't forgotten about Pokemon Grape. I really am so excited for the final completion of Pokemon Grape and Pokemon Prism. The final versions of these two games are going to be amazing. I played about 30% of the Pokemon Grape 3.0 demo and told myself I'd stop there and then pick it back up at the final version, but between my anticipation for the final version of Grape and Prism, I'm dying lol. I'm gonna patch the 3.1 demo and give this a go.

                      I'll start throwing together a working Gameshark code list and information that would be important for a route-by-route guide... Pokemon available, items, etc.

                      Cheers!

                        >:(Thanks the clues... I actually found that path after I post my question...

                          I use to check my thread about 2\3 times a week so sometimes by the time I answer who asked the question has already solved his\her problem, I apologize for the delay.

                          Since last week I had enough time to add new stuff to my hack, here are a few new screenshots:

                          Too much water Part 2 The Vengeange...
                          You can dive underwater even in other places such as certain caves and in the Fish Factory.

                          This reminds me of The Legend Of Zelda (1986) for the NES... In this hack places like this one are called Dungeons for a reason.

                          (M.Bison saying "Yesss!" twice)
                          The first screenshots showing underwater maps! For those that don't know about it, from the 3rd Generation of Pokemon Games onwards you can dive underwater and reach many underwater places, I was skeptic about add this functionality but since the Hoenn Remakes (OR\AS) I ultimately decided to add it.
                          There's another retrò hack featuring underwater maps but in this one there's even more level of detail;
                          from the technical point of view it works differently from that hack as I added even more cool stuff and fixed in the process some annoying glitches that show up by default due to how the original game has been programmed.

                          What do I mean by writing "cool stuff"?
                          ...Here's a small example:

                          This gets intriguing...

                          If you're interested don't forget to try the last released Demo (Demo3.1) just to have some familiarity with Pokemon Grape, (the .sav of Demo 3.1 should be compatible with Final Version v1.0).
                          All right, this is it for now!
                          In the meanwhile...

                          Even if I'm still hacking with obsolete methods I'm trying to do my best with this hack.

                          By the way, here's a small update regarding the beginning of the game:

                          There are some new features in the player's house, some are just minor improvements and details, others are completely new things:
                          *Text has been added for the windows, clock, fridge, sink, hoover and drawer. The drawer works in such way that you have to interact with it on the right side, otherwise the "Oops, wrong side" message is displayed (just like in the case of the TV);
                          *RADIO: a feature imported from Gen.2 games, the player can switch music in his room by turning on the radio;
                          *An instruction manual has been placed on the previously unused table, it gives you many useful hints about things you may not notice if you play this hack for the first time, in particular it describes:
                          1-the use of the Running Shoes and Kart Turbo\Boost;
                          2-the new types;
                          and at last it gives you information about the Nuzlocke Challenge and how to play it just to remind it to you... who knows, that might be useful in the future.

                          I'll post new things about Pokemon Grape as soon as I implement something important or interesting, that's all I've got for today, have a nice Sunday and don't miss the news about Pokemon Grape! :)
                          Looks interesting, I'll play it.
                          Also Gen3 hacks are by far the most popular but I do prefer the older ones imo. There are just so many more tools and ways to hack for the 3rd gen that they will be made more.

                          Anyway, I look forward to playing this. Looks intriguing.

                          Quick note, I ended up losing the IPS files for ALL my hacks in the Sideshow Showcase, I ended up factory resetting my PC before making backups. Since you can't download them because the downloads are broken, and I no longer have access to them, well, you can figure out the rest -.-

                            Haha, I've been playing v3.1 since Saturday, and I can say that I like this hack!
                            My team is just severely underlevelled at the moment, but I'm making it through!
                            It's been really fun playing it, and I have been noting every single "error" that I've come by (albeit I'll admit that some of these are just my personal preference), but I'll just keep them to myself to see if you' e fixed them or not in Final v1.0~

                              Thanks! I am intrigued by my own hack too sometimes, probabilly is because in these 2 years it changed so much from the original Pokémon Red.
                              Gen.3 hacks are fun too, but there are lots of them, that's why I wanted to try something different from the ordinary hacks, apparently that was the smartest choice I made.

                              I'm glad you're enjoying this fangame, I put a lot of effort in it.

                              I know, this game is hard at the beginning, it forces you to level your Pokemon team faster than in the regular Pokémon Red because by the end of the game your foes will be stronger than in Pokemon Red (the league ranges from Level 60 to level 75... don't worry, if your team is valid you can still beat the League, hard but definitively not impossible), fortunately there are some smart choices you can made to make your adventure easier (for example: buying the Mareep at the first PokéCenter helps you a lot during the beginning of the game).

                              I noticed some errors too (my previous beta testers weren't very skilled... they didn't beta tested but rather played the game with the speed-forward on... that was disappointing :/ ), many of those errors were already fixed (the list is very long), as of now:
                              Spoiler:

                              *Fixed the palette at the beginning of the game, now it's brown and it will remain brown every time you enter your house again;
                              *Added text for hoover, sink, fridge, drawer, radio, windows, clock and an instruction manual has been added;
                              *Fixed the 3 glitched Pokémon backpics (Doduo, Gastly, Magnemite);
                              *Fixed the annoying moveset errors;
                              *Fixed train station stuff;
                              *Flannery is now Flannery and not a common Beauty, now she has even a new team and a custom AI too;
                              *Doors in Alpine Mansion now reset when you exit from the dungeon;
                              *Fixed an annoying swimmer in Route 55 that triggered a glitch;
                              *Fixed a lot of hidden objects;
                              *Fixed the motorbikes in Gondwan City's Racing shop;
                              *Fixed all the MiniOW graphical glitches while viewing the Pokemon Party;
                              *Fixed the glitched NPCs;
                              *Emproved movements for Paul, he doesn't trepass you anymore neither intentionally as he was previously claiming;
                              *Palettes were improved and adjusted;
                              *Some stupid grammar mistakes were corrected;
                              *Fixed the map error in Route 60 where you cannot enter FLY's House blocked by Snorlax;
                              *Fixed Snorlax flute coords;
                              *Fixed a couple of tedious "textbox infringing" problems;
                              *The dialogue in Bek's Lab about the Duel against Paul was finally shortened (while the dialogue in Spooky Swamp with the Ghost was corrected but it's still long and uncut: that dialogue is too funny even if it's so long);
                              *Added and fixed a shortcut connecting Wizard Peak\Route 71 with Route 60\Buris City;
                              *Emproved wild Pokemon data: no more weak Pokémon later in the game!
                              *The annoying Gambler at the exit of Mt.Lyre doesn't trigger the Mew glitch anymore, even if you "accidentally" use the fast-forward while playing;
                              *Fixed that dull "3 ERROR" sign;
                              *Fixed completely the fight with the Ghost Scyther (he's still Lv.50 tough, at least now he's not too hard to beat);
                              *Fixed Move Names and Bullet Seed which previously had 0 PP;
                              *Fixed water and animated water behavior;
                              *Tilesets were emproved A LOT;
                              *In-Game trades were a bit adjusted (now even the unused trade is used!);
                              *Corrected some more small glitches left by Game Freak in the original Pokémon Red;

                              but it's possible that I've not noticed yet a few.
                              If you're okay with sending me a PM where you list errors you've encountered I'd be glad to insert you in the Credits section :)

                              Now... it's time for some Christmas screens as my gift:

                              Turtle Rock, it has a new palette now.

                              ...

                              Some GYMs were redesigned.

                              Lateral steps were removed: this solution is way more appealing aesthetically.

                              Huh...

                              Which is the right one?

                              Dungeons (and not dragons, sorry, dragons are rare beasts)...

                              It's getting better all the time...

                              Yeah... pseudo-3D effect in certain areas like in Gen.5 games.

                              Is that deep water or it's just gasoil??? (yes, this is self-irony).

                              That's it, Pokemon Grape Final v1.0 comes out one day in the first half of 2016 as soons as it is fully tested.
                              In the meanwhile I'm working also on a preview of the Final Version (a Let's Play Pokemon Grape + Making Of... and DidYouKnowHacking all in 1) that shows some new things just before the Pokémon League (from then onwards will be a surprise).

                              Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

                                I'm back, I've been on vacation,, obviously I kept hacking Pokémon Grape during that time:

                                Ignore the bad grammar in the first two screen, it's a reference to the first Legend Of Zelda (1986).
                                About the Hidden Palace... the idea came from both Sonic The Hedgehog and Crash Bandicoot.
                                In short, I first planned about inserting 6 Colored Gems and a Key for unlocking a certain Post-League Quest, during that time the gems were supposed to be found with an ItemFinder... that wasn't fun and was even too similar to another Retrò Hack, so instead I came up with this new idea.
                                First, the mysterious Key has been thrown in the bin and it became a Seventh Gem (just like the Chaos Emeralds in Sonic).
                                Then I decided to add the Hidden Palace: in short you can attempt a Gem Challenge and win a Gem at the end if you manage to reach the goal alive (yes, there's no continue: if you fail one of the challenges it's soft reset for you), you can enter the Hidden Palace 7 times during the game, I won't spoil all the details because this is very intriguing and it would ruin the surprise.

                                I revamped Route Gates.
                                The broken binocular is broken even visually.

                                The screenshot explains itself...

                                Thanks to a small tweak I created now this gym is shown in its true colors rather than in that boring greenish palette used in the previous Demos.

                                This icy area looks cold finally.

                                Yes, that is a volcanic area and that boiling thing is magma (it's animated too!).
                                Don't fall in the magma-ouch or you'll melt faster than an ice cube...

                                Pokemon Grape and the Temple of Doom?

                                This is it for now, see you next time!

                                      Small Update, it's just a teaser...

                                      Our wildest wishes were granted: the legend became reality. :)
                                      For who doesn't know about the myths regarding PoKémon:
                                      The "Mew under the truck" legend was very popular many years ago, back in the days everyone has attempted at least once to move the truck in the Port by using Strenght, hoping to find Mew somehow.
                                      Adding this feature in a Pokémon Red hack was somehow considered "the Holy Grail of Pokémon Hacking", well, mainly due to nostalgia I did it.
                                      I hope elder Pokémon fans (and maybe even the newer ones) will enjoy this new feature.

                                      Finally, those annoying boxes are gone... this means that the Player can explore the Fast Ship.

                                      The project is still alive and the hack is going on very well, way beyond my previous expectations.

                                      There might be some more news this weekend, it depends on how much busy I will be.
                                      See you next time!

                                        Hey 80C! Your hack is looking great. I started to play and it's fun. There should be more Hacks of RBY and GSC.
                                        But I have a question. How do I get these beautiful real colors? I'm playing on Android (My OldBoy! Free) and default it's grey like the originals. In the video setting I can choose different palettes but there is no option to make it look like your it is on your screenshots.
                                        Thank you!

To my knowledge, the only way to get color is to play it in an emulator for PC/Mac/Linux or on certain flash carts. I do not think any mobile emulator supports playing it in color, unfortunately.

                                          Yeah, you'll have to use rin for your android. It's a pretty terrible emulator but it's the only thing we have.

                                            Played the hack for a bit on my Everdrive GB (Using the "blue" palette, [A + <-] i believe, looks pretty good), i'm up to (i think it was called) "Fracture Hill"[*1].

                                            I like the game so far, but either you should really nerf the random enqounters rate, or make repels much more available and/or cheap, because as it is now, it seems like almost half the time i spend on a route or in a dungeon is running from encounters that happen so often, one wonders if "random" is even the right word for it anymore.

                                            I'll be watching the future of this hack, it seems to have a lot of promise. Side-scrolling levels is pretty "thinking outside the box" when it comes to Pokémon (and hacks) too, so that makes it extra interesting :)

                                            *1: Internet/website is being a rattata right now, so i can't double check.

                                              JohnGBC supports SGB (colors and/or borders) on Android. It's more or less the same as MyOldBoy, but the free version contains ads. There are plenty workarounds for that, though...

                                              On topic, this looks really interesting, gonna play it soon :D
